Broken Hearts are Mended
In the beginning both Elizabeth and Henry are broken hearted and lacking in trust and self worth. This book is as much about their healing as it is about their developing romantic relationship.
I liked it. It’s nice to see characters grow and develop throughout the story.

Like stories based in small towns. Interesting and entertaining characters. Good story flow. Good reading when following each character’s journey. Would recommend.

This was a sensationally sweet and emotional story about second chances, trust, and healing. Elizabeth is a young woman attempting to repair her life following a nasty break up that left her destitute and jobless. Henry is a single dad trying to be a better man than people he is because of his father’s mistakes. When Henry and Elizabeth meet they both feel an attraction to each other but because of her ex, Henry must work extra hard to gain Elizabeth’s trust and heart. Sweet Inspirations is a sweet and romantic new book in the Love Happens series filled with insecurities, hardship, heartache, a will to survive, secrets, friendship, healing, laughter, passionately sweet kisses, and love. I really enjoyed reading this book I can’t wait for the next book in the series to be released.

Elizabeth is starting over in the town of Sweet Blooms. She wants to start a senior rescue shelter for dogs. Her ex-boyfriend used her and when she lost everything he left her. She’s given up on men. Then she meets Henry. He owns the land that she needs for her shelter. Henry always felt like he wasn’t good enough. Henry and Elizabeth are thrown together as they work to get the shelter started. The more they get to know each other the more they like each other. I really liked this book
Another great story from Dean Hodel! I have fallen love with the work from this author. The story line is sweet, engaging, romantic, fun to read and has all the right feels. Sweet romance set in a small town with characters that care for one another like small town residents do.

A man always defined by his father – and not in a good way – and a woman who had seen rock bottom, socially and emotionally forge an unusual alliance and when they fake an engagement they are the only ones who believe it is fake ……
A nice story. like all stories from Sweet Blooms, well-written and fun to read. Realistic characters set in a lovely small town, where people care about each other and take charge, when necessary.

Book nine in the Love Happens series, another very good book in this series. Elizabeth Butler and Henry Jenkins are keeping secrets from each other,Elizabeth has trust issues after Lance,Lance was a real piece of work. I enjoyed reading this story.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a very sweet book and I enjoyed Henry and Elizabeth’s tender story.
I think that this story showed the sweeter side of Sweet Blooms as well. I fell just a little more in love with the town of what sometimes may appear to have too many busybodies, but in the end is a group of straight shooters who only want the best.
It transported me to a simpler place.

Both main characters had serious issues to work through before they could reach their HEA.
Both Henry and Elizabeth fail to tell the entire truth and that causes them problems and put her dog rescue in jeopardy. Dean Hodel brings us well developed characters and a story line with a few twists and turns. I enjoyed this book and can definitely recommend it.
Recovering self esteem and trusting your gut after an awful breakup can be very hard.
Elizabeth was deceived then devastated when her ex took everything then left her literally out on the streets with a bad business deal.
Oddly, she found herself and her calling to help senior dogs.
Henry is a Jenkins. Son of generations of town drunks and wastrels. He left his first wife and son behind when Hannah chose to stay in Sweet Blooms and make a life for herself and their son.
Henry has been working to repair the relationships between himself, his son and his ex, who has remarried.
Elizabeth and her dog rescue are a fresh chance for Henry, and the two of them as a couple is a chance Henry really wants.
Sweet Blooms is a complicated small town, yet a heck of a place for new beginnings.

Sweet Inspirations is a sweet story. It is a quick easy read. I’m happy that Henry and Elizabeth got to have their happy ending. I wish that there was a little more to Elizabeth and Henry’s story. I also would like to know what becomes of Elizabeth’s ex. Lance. I can only hope gets what he deserves. He’s a nasty human being. I can’t think of anything he deserves more then time in prison.
I hope the next reader enjoys this sweet story.
Dean Hodel takes a small town and makes it seem like Norman Rockwell painting. Lazy days and lazy nights where everyone knows their neighbor and cares for them if necessary. Hodel’s prose and vivid imagery allows us to see the characters and settings exactly as they are written. The author paints pictures with words and I can see Henry and Elizabeth fitting into Sweet Blooms perfectly. Henry the boy from the wrong side of town who made bad decisions ( as we all do) almost believing everything that is said about him. Elizabeth the girl from the city who lost it all and must start over.
Neither of them really believing in themselves but much stronger together than apart. A lie might have brought them together but the love they find grows strong and true. This story is slow building but so worth the read in the end. If you have never read a book by this author you are truly missing out.
This was such a sweet second chance story. I really like second chance stories and really liked that this one took place in a small town. I found this to be a nice quick read that made me smile.
4 out of 5 stars
Welcome back to Spring Blossoms the small town where the bad boys come back to make good and women who need a second chance at love a chance to live again .
Lets me introduce you to Elizabeth who has come to town for a second chance at getting her life back on track and get her dog rescue up and running . Henry is back to get his life turned around and find some happiness . When they meet over a misunderstanding starts a friendship and should I say the start of a love story that could be the one thing they both need . Will the hurts of their past come back to haunt them and keep them from finding the love that they both deserve .
The characters in this novella are well written . You really just want to wrap them up in a warm blanket and hug them both and tell them that everything will work out for them . Elizabeth is a sweet and feisty woman who has seen her share of sorrows . She is starting a dog rescue for older unwanted dogs . She is dedicated to her dogs , but she is also hiding some things from Henry and in a small town she realizes that things can’t stay hidden for long . Henry has grown up on the wrong side of the tracks and he left to make something of himself . When he comes back you see a solid guy who wants to make amends he does screw up a lot but he does try to fix it a lot of the times . People are kind of indifferent to him sometimes and he just keeps on working on his ranch along side Elizabeth that is setting up her dog rescue up there . They do grow up in this story and you see them finally realize that they are better together then apart .
This is a sweet story that will take you back to small town values and see that there are many people that love you even when you are being a idiot . I will say that at the beginning of the story I really didn’t like Elizabeth she just seemed so naïve but she grew on me and when I got into her head she came off as being feisty . The author kept us guessing if they would or wouldn’t get together . I really liked this series and the author can weave a tale of small town life . There were a few things that could of been corrected with some more editing . Over all I enjoyed this story and its a great story for a snowy winter night with a glass of wine .
Both Elizabeth and Henry made mistakes in their individual pasts. They’re human. It happens. Move past it. Learn that you are capable of being loved and trusting again. That is what Henry and Elizabeth must learn together.
I was really excited to see Henry get himself a book and see if he could fully redeem himself and make the town see him as more than just a Jenkins.
After all in the small town of Sweet Bloom, everyone knows everything about everyone, and the Jenkins name seems be a dark spot among the town.
I really wanted to like Elizabeth. But I just can’t deal with the wishy washy females and hypocrites on top of that. She also seemed so concerned with only her own problems that she never considers the position she puts Henry in with her lie to get her sanctuary started. I’m all for the independent woman who pulls herself back up and can get herself off the streets after losing everything. But she just wasn’t the kind of female I like to read about.
A dog, a misunderstanding and so begins the story of Elizabeth and Henry. Elizabeth has a kind heart, has been burned in the past and has trouble trusting men. Henry is a prodigal son returning to his hometown to prove he’s a good man. Can their relationship survive secrets, home town gossip and the past. I particularly love Henry’s perspective- it’s not often a man’s feelings are revealed in such a touching way. A charming small town romance that brought a smile to me face.
A great addition to the series. Another great love story with great characters and a great storyline. Looking forward to more by this author
this was a really great book! he wants what his ex has . so he sets off to find himself a wife. she is tired of being taken by men. will these two hit it off? read to find out.
