A sexy, small town, second chance romance. Thanks to a drawn-up-while-drinking-moonshine partnership agreement, Madison Allain has to spend thirty days back on the bayou before she can sell her part of the family business. And if the heat and humidity and freaking alligators of Louisiana aren’t enough to agitate the cool and in-control California girl, then Owen Landry, the equally hot guy who … Owen Landry, the equally hot guy who stole her heart twelve years ago, will sure do the trick.
Owen just has to remember three simple-ish rules: Do not fight with her. Do not fight over her. Do not kiss her. He can do this. He’s charming and friendly for a living after all. But this is Maddie. The only woman to ever shake up this laid-back bayou boy.
Besides, she’s not staying. No way. These people and this town make her crazy. She doesn’t want to be crazy. She definitely does not want to own a swamp boat tour company. She just wants to paint. In her quiet, beautiful, alligators-not-allowed, air-conditioned art studio.
As for that hot bayou boy? Well, he’s…amazing. But he belongs here in the South. And she definitely doesn’t. Even if her heart stays behind when she leaves.

Love makes you crazy – a true statement for many people, including Madison. She’s back in Louisiana to sell her late brother’s share of a bayou tourist business. However, part of the original partnership agreement requires her to work at the business for 30 days before the sale can be finalized. All well and good, except for Owen. When he’s around Maddie gets crazy. And he’s always around!
Author Erin Nicholas’ second Boys of the Bayou entry is full of fun, gators, and a bit of crazy. Maddie can’t stay out of trouble, and Owen can’t stay out of … Well, you get the idea. I really enjoyed the story, the heat in Louisiana is legendary, and the secondary characters are so good that I can’t wait to see the next installment.

Owen and Maddie have history, like going to jail for each other history, like crazy history. I love seeing her find her way back to her roots. Loved this story and really can’t wait to see the fireworks in Sawyer’s story next!
Maddie Allain doesn’t want to return to her hometown of Autre, Louisiana in the heart of bayou. If she wants to sell her share of Boys of Bayou, a boat tour company company that her grandfather started with his best friend, Leo decades ago, she has to return and work for the company for thirty days. Too bad her first love, Leo’s grandson is part owner along with his other two cousins–Sawyer and Josh along with her now deceased older brother Tommy. Tommy left his shares to her.Twelve years later, she has to work with and be around her first love. A man she hasn’t spoken to since her brother shipped her off to live with her maternal grandparents in San Francisco. By the looks of Owen–without his shirt, by the way–she’s in trouble. Deep trouble. Every memory and feelings come rushing back to her. It doesn’t help that her grandmother, Cora welcomes her back with open arm and will do almost anything to keep her granddaughter in Autre. Maddie can’t stay. She just can’t. She always loses control especialy when Owen is involved. Normal people don’t burn down a shed to defend her boyfriend’s honor. Owen isn’t much better to tamp down his temper and passion. She has to figure out how to remain unattached and not emotionally connect with the boys or with the people of Autre and especially the Boys of the Bayou.Owen is nervous. His first love is returning mix in the fact that she wants to sell her shares. The four boys have to convince her otherwise. Owen is scared and nervous he will say or do something to chase her away –again. He wants to remind her of how great they were together and how much he wants her back. Only this time–he’s going to do everything possible to keep her.
New Orleans has always been at the top of my list of places I want to visit. I think I now need to add Autre, Louisiana to that list. Second chance romance has always been my favorite kind of romance, and Owen and Maddie are now at the top of my list of favorites. I knew at the end of Josh’s book that there was going to be quite the story there, and their actual story did not disappoint. Maddie inherited her brother’s share of the business when he passed away. She now wants to sell her portion to someone new who has never lived in the bayou. I cannot wait to see how that plays out! The rules of the business state she must be involved in the business for 30 days prior to selling so she uproots her life in California. I loved this story and loved watching them rediscover their love. I highly recommend it.
LOL. That was me while reading this book. I had so much fun with Owen and Maddie. The family that all of the characters make made me happy. I was rooting for the second chance for the bayou boy and the “city girl” the whole time. Their chemistry was off the charts, and Ms. Nicholas made it all work out in the end! My favorite type of story. Cannot wait for the next one…
I freaking LOVE the Bayou Boys!!! Owen is so sweet! I loved watching him & Maddie get reacquainted and realize that their young love and passion was still as strong as ever. I had the hardest time putting the book down; and much like with Josh’s book, I had the hardest time not smiling while reading!!
PS- you WILL crave Cajun food while reading this! I want Cora’s gator & shrimp jambalaya!!!!
Down in the bayou life is hot, hard and oh so much fun! This is my new favorite series! I just LOVE the Landry boys! They are all so different and oh so lovable….even when being overwhelming;). Take a chance and fall in love down in the bayou!
I’m in love with the Boys of the Bayou series! Owen is quickly climbing his way to the top of my favorite book boyfriends list. He is just one of the good ones. He holds those close to him in the best way possible. He loves and honors them. Madison is no different. Her and Owen have a knack for bringing out the best and worst in one another. Now she is being forced to spend 30 days with him and his whole family. Owen is looking forward to the next 30 days and being able to spend it with her.
Erin Nicholas once again brings to life a story with amazing character and killer chemistry. I love all of her southern boys and can’t wait to see what she brings us next.
Erin Nicholas does it again with another book in the Boys of the Bayou series. 12 years ago Owen and Maddie had a hot and heavy month long romance when they were 16 and 17 years old. But they made each other crazy and Maddie eventually left Louisiana to live in California. After her brother dies she is left with a share in the business that Owen is a part of. She must come home to take care of things and meet Owen face to face. Will the love of 2 teenagers have disappeared over time or will the flame reignite now that they are both adults. As if the Bayou wasn’t hot and steamy enough, add these 2 together and they will set it on fire.
I didn’t think it was possible to love any book series more than I loved the Sapphire Falls series. TJ and Hope were the ultimate couple and I think I actually lived there in another life. This Boys of the Bayou series may seriously compete.
The Landry clan has been nothing but entertaining and heartwarming and all about big love!! This is the story of Maddie and Owen. While there is some sadness as to the background of their love story, the humorous adventures (setting fires, taking apart vehicles…) and the steamy present storyline more than makes up for it. Maddie has to endure 30 days, just 30 days, in the Bayou to be out forever….but Owen has other plans for her. Can he convince her where she belongs? And who gets blown up or incapacitated while he does it?
Love this story and so appreciate the way second chance lovers always endure….
Sweet Home Louisiana by Erin Nichols is second in the Boys of the Bayou series recently launched. Love those Louisiana boys! Ever since I discovered this series and the one before it, Boys of the Big Easy, I have been enchanted, begging or more. Owen Landry is a big, goofy, kid-like man who runs an airboat in the bayou for his and his family’s business, Boys of the Bayou. They do bayou tours and fishing tours and such. He and his brothers are a big draw for female-filled tours like bachelorette parties and such; also for tours full of men; for a slightly different reason, and also for family tours; for yet another reason. They are all hot, smart, and fun. Now Josh is taken, limiting come of his activities; Sawyer is drowning in depression since his best friend and partner, Tommy was killed in a bayou accident; and Owen is totally distracted by the arrival of the fourth partner, Madison, Tommy’s sister. She has come to sell her share.
Nichols brings these characters to life. It is like you are there in Autre with them, eating and drinking at Ellie’s, working on the dock or in the office, a member of the family. And characters they are: Ellie, 70 years old with a 50 year old New Orleans lawyer for a boyfriend; Leo, Ellie’s ex-husband and best friend; Kennedy, the beauty queen turned goth girl who runs the office and handle reservations. All one big happy family; a family the reader becomes engrossed in immediately. It is a romance; the ending pre-ordained; but what a good time getting to the end. It is a wonderful…and hot…read. I totally recommend it…and soon.
Erin never disappoints in her writing…wow Hot crazy combustible chemistry coming your way with Owen and Maddie but can they make it work after 12 years..and can Maddie actually come back home or is California trully her home. Owen is an alpha male that will do anything for his family does that include letting Maddie go forever… Boys of the Bayou is a great home town series like Saphire Falls Erin makes you fall in love with Aultre and you never want to leave..

Maddie has come home to Autre to fulfill an agreement so she can sell her shares of boys of the bayou tours. What she’s not ready for is all her feelings for Owen to come crashing back on her. When she thinks Owen is in danger she realizes she really and truly loves him and has to stay and be crazy in love with him….this is book two of boys of the bayou and it will leave you wanted more. This trip to the swamps of Louisiana will make you crave gumbo and a hurricane.

Keep those sexy Boys of the Bayou coming! Romantic, with lots of extended family fun.
Explosive together, tortured apart. Will Maddie and Owen have the same fiery passion a decade plus later. Reunited on the Bayou can only lead them to rediscover who they were, where their lives have gone and who they’ve become. I’m loving these Bayou boys and girls.
Maddie left the Bayou about 12 years ago, she never wanted to return but then her brother died. She retunred for the funeral but ran again back to the west coast. It isn’t that she hated her hometown, she hated how her hometown made her feel. Wild, unencumbered, no filter, she needed to feel more in control of herself. It didn’t help that the bayou had Owen.
Owen is a bayou boy through and through. Maddie was his first real love and they were dangerous together. The passion and fire when the two of them got near each other could set the room on fire, and pretty much did. When Maddie wants to sell her shares of Boys of the Bayou she first must return home for 30 days as per the agreement made years before. Owen sees his chance to remind her what’s in her blood, who she is down deep.
Owen and Maddie together are full of passion and spark. You can almost see the flames jumping off the pages when they come together. But will that be enough to get Maddie to want to stay home and run the company with them? She has an investor that is a good fit for the company that wants to jump head first into helping grow the company but the boys aren’t that open to a new person coming into their tight fold, especially with him having majority ownership along with Sawyer. Kennedy doesn’t want Bennett there but for much different reasons (I see a juicy story unfolding).
This series has me dying in between releases. The author has the ability to pull me right into not only the pages and scenes but I can feel the heat of the bayou, the smells the bayou, the noise of the airboats. Sawyer is next up and it is going to be so so good, I can feel that too.
Fantastic second-chance romance by Erin Nicholas. Owen is a sweet, sexy southern man. Maddie is the cool and collected Bayou-turned-California girl trying to keep her crazy under control. But Owen knows the real Maddie and does everything to help her get back in touch with who she really is. Their story is filled with love, many laughs and just a touch of Bayou crazy. Great second book in the Boys of the Bayou series.
I honestly didn’t know how the author was going to top My Best Friend’s Mardi Gras Wedding but she did it! Sweet Home Alabama stands alone but if you haven’t read book one you’re going to want to read it to know the backstory of the supporting characters. Owen Landry is one of the owners of Boys of the Bayou Swamp tours and he fell in love with Maddie Allain when he was 17 years old and she was 16. They grew up together, knew everything about each other and had one hot summer together before everything blew up. Now it’s 12 years later and even though they haven’t seen each other but one time their feelings are still there. Madison has made a life for herself in California. She’s an art gallery manager as well as an artist and she has no plans on living in the bayou ever again no matter what her heart thinks. Owen just wants his “Maddie” back and is determined to make her remember her love of the bayou and all their crazy friends and family. Sweet Home Louisiana has it all; great characters, love, laughter, angst, alligators, moonshine and more! It’s told from dual POV and it’s a steamy, second chance at love! I completely recommend it.
Just when I think I couldn’t possibly love Erin Nicholas books any more than I already do, I read Sweet Home Louisiana. Every book just keeps getting better and better. I am hooked.
Get ready for a fun ride into the bayou!
Sweet Home Louisiana is the second in the Boy’s of the Bayou series but can be read as a standalone. I am in love with this series that is filled with these kind, loyal, bayou crazy people and I know you will enjoy them too! Take a chance on this book and this series! You will not be disappointed!
Maddie hasn’t been back to the Bayou in years but when she is forced to spend time back in her hometown with all of its familiar people and places she is torn. She always planned on only staying a month but her decision has gotten so much harder to make and being anywhere near Owen isn’t helping her make the decision because those familiar feelings keep coming up to the surface.
The more time Owen spends with her the more he realizes that he loves and admires the woman she has become and he knows that he never really stopped loving her and he just wants her to be happy.
It takes her a bit of time for Maddie to realize that this community she grew up in and these wonderful people she grew up with, especially Owen, are everything she needs and wants to find her happily ever after.
Owen & Maddie strike sparks off from the beginning. They grew up together until Maddie headed to the west coast to live. She didn’t like the way she acted in Autry – wild & out of control. She preferred her staid, boring life out of the bayou. Now, she’s back & is being forced to stay & help run the business for 30 days. Owen is determined to get her to stay. She’s determined to leave. Who’s going to win?
Ms. Nicholas keeps giving her readers such wonderful characters to fall in love with. Maddie strikes a sympathetic chord with her wanting to escape her own behavior & her family’s reputation. Her fear of turning out like either her father or mother comes through in her actions. Owen wants what’s best for her & readers can identify with his feelings of abandonment from the way she left & didn’t look back. This was another story that kept me reading from cover to cover in one reading.
