A sexy, small town, second chance romance. Thanks to a drawn-up-while-drinking-moonshine partnership agreement, Madison Allain has to spend thirty days back on the bayou before she can sell her part of the family business. And if the heat and humidity and freaking alligators of Louisiana aren’t enough to agitate the cool and in-control California girl, then Owen Landry, the equally hot guy who … Owen Landry, the equally hot guy who stole her heart twelve years ago, will sure do the trick.
Owen just has to remember three simple-ish rules: Do not fight with her. Do not fight over her. Do not kiss her. He can do this. He’s charming and friendly for a living after all. But this is Maddie. The only woman to ever shake up this laid-back bayou boy.
Besides, she’s not staying. No way. These people and this town make her crazy. She doesn’t want to be crazy. She definitely does not want to own a swamp boat tour company. She just wants to paint. In her quiet, beautiful, alligators-not-allowed, air-conditioned art studio.
As for that hot bayou boy? Well, he’s…amazing. But he belongs here in the South. And she definitely doesn’t. Even if her heart stays behind when she leaves.

Crazy Fun. The Boy’s of the Bayou just keep it rolling from book to book. The author has given us another RomCom that is not only hilarious but very heartfelt and so very much a cajun style romance. In case you don’t know it, cajun people are 100 percent family. Everyone knows everyone’s business and everyone has a opinion on everything. But when push comes to shove, no one sticks together more for each other than cajun bayou folks. (FYI, I know this as I lived much of my adult life in Louisiana). The author has done an Outstanding job of portraying cajun life on the bayou – the fun, the work and the family life style.
Madison has returned to the Bayou to fulfill the 30 days require in order to sell her portion of the family business. Madison have been living in California and has no desire to return to life on the Bayou, which is exactly what the boys who own the other shares of the business are trying to get her to do. The family is hoping after 30 days she’ll return to her roots and not sell. But Madison has other plans. She has to sell because 1) she loves her life in California where she gets to paint and work in a plush art gallery and 2) because she can’t live near her old flame Owen. Why? Because he drives her crazy and every time they are together things seem to go wrong and crazy stuff happens. As for Owen he wants her to stay but he knows her happiness is in California and no longer on the Bayou and he’ll do anything to make her happy, even if it means she sells to an outsider.
This is a very funny book that will have you laughing at the family’s antics and hoping for a happy ending for Owen and Madison. I Highly Recommend the Boys of the Bayou series. While they can be read as standalones, the characters in the books crossover and it’s much more entertaining if you read them in order. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for a great book 2 and this reader is anxiously waiting for book 3.
Erin Nicholas never, ever, EVER disappoints. Seriously. NEEEEEEVVVVVEEEEERRRR.
This is the first book I’ve read in this series. Loved it. It’s funny at times and touching. The chemistry between the main characters is sizzling. I read it in a day, it was addictive reading
I’m not sure how but Erin Nicholas has outdone herself with this one. Each of the stories have been so amazing and Owen and Maddie have become the new favorite. I fell in love with every character in this book, they are funny, sarcastic and so loving. Maddie is so fun and watching her try to hang onto the her good side is hilarious, but her love for Owen makes her do crazy things. Owen was so loving and protective but can he convince Maddie not to sell her share of the business before her 30 days are up? I can’t get enough of the love of family really come’s thru in this book. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Sawyer, I’m sure his story will be just as amazing.
Another winning book by this author. I just love her!
Loved it
Erin’s books are romance perfection <3
So far this Boys of the Bayou series is proving to be so sweet, sexy, charming and fun! I am totally loving it! I loved book one with Josh and Tori and Erin Nicholas has hooked me in again with Owen and Maddie. Unlike the first book, this couple has quite a history between them from when they were teenagers, so Owen and Maddie’s story is ultimately a second chance for the adult versions of these adorably crazy, protective and sweet people to get things right this time around. Because of her brother Tommy’s death, Maddie now owns a share in the Boy of the Bayou, but she has been living in California for 12 years now, and not interested in being part of it at all, or so she thought. She wants to sell her share, but the boys, Owen, Josh and Sawyer, make her come spend 30 days back in Autre before they will allow such a thing. And so the fun begins!
This opens up the chance for Owen and Maddie to reconnect and from the the first moment they see each other again, sparks fly, passions flare and things will never be the same again. I love both of them so much! They are fantastic characters as are the rest of the crew. Can’t wait for more!!
Stay seated on the swamp boat as the gators aren’t the only thing that could get you on the bayou!
Madison is part owner of Boys of Bayou touring and hunting company. Her brother left her his share but in order to sell, she must spend thirty days in Autre. Owen is another owner and Madison’s ex. Madison doesn’t want to go there but must. The more time Madison spends, the more she remembers all the good and crazy times. Because no one can make her do crazy things like Owen and vice versa. Will she sell and head back to California or will she finally come home.
I cracked up laughing, couldn’t put the book down, and needed a cold shower. This is the second of this series and I really can’t wait until the next one.

Holy hot crawfish, I’m sooo in love with this Landry clan! I think they’re my favorite book family ever, and I’m ready to drive down to the Autre, Louisiana, and beg them to adopt me. They’re boisterous, opinionated and interfering, but they love large and always, always have each others’ backs. And I don’t know if it’s the local climate or the Landry DNA, but they grow their men strong and sexy with breath-taking grins, unwavering loyalty and hearts as big as their beloved bayou. Madison Allain may not share my sentiments, because she left Autre at age sixteen and never looked back.
Maddie is content with her life in California. She’s content not thinking about the people she’s loved and lost, and she’s content not thinking of Autre as home now that she’s made a new life for herself on the opposite side of the country. But since her brother’s death, the check she gets every month as part owner of the Boys of the Bayou Swamp Boat Tour Company forces her to think about Autre and all she left behind. Including Owen Landry. But in order to sell her share of the business, the agreement states she has to spend thirty days working in the company, so now she has to deal with everything from back home she put behind her over a decade ago. Especially Owen Landry.
Owen and Maddie burned hot and fast back in high school for a month before she left town. All passion, hormones and reckless abandon, they made each other crazy and had more than their share of impulsive decisions. They’re both adults now, with more maturity and self-control, but embers still smolder, along with the potential for crazy to make a reappearance. And isn’t this a tantalizing setup for an awesome second-chance romance? You know as well as I do, there’s no way Owen and Maddie will be able to resist the pull between them. And their second chance is spectacular – touchingly beautiful, laugh-out-loud hilarious, deliciously steamy, poignantly evocative and so, so good!
Gah. I’m so swoony over Owen and Maddie, it’s utterly ridiculous. Nicholas again tops herself with a captivating, hypnotizing storyline that sucked me in and wouldn’t turn me loose. I read this in one sitting, staying up way too late, and absolutely hated to finish the last page. I can’t get enough of these characters and wish their story could go on forever. Owen is a laid-back alpha, generally easy going, but he’s also a fixer, doing whatever he can to make life easier for those he loves. And his growly, protective side? That’s some shiver-inducing yumminess when it makes an appearance. Maddie has created a polished, professional persona during her years away, but it’s not long before her bayou comes out, and she’s not above getting physical to take care of business and protect those she cares about.
As it stands right now, The Boys of the Bayou is my number one series for the year, and I seriously doubt anything will come along and knock it out of that spot. Josh’s story was great, but Owen’s is even better, and I have high hopes for Sawyer’s story in Beauty and the Bayou. These books stand alone, so you can start with Owen’s then catch up with Josh’s and be ready for Sawyer’s book in August. Unless you hate sexy, southern gentlemen, strong, smart women and sweet second chances, you’ll absolutely love Owen and Maddie story!

What a great second-chance romance!
I love how Maddie and Owen get their second chance!
Owen is such a hot-book boyfriend. I loved him instantly, and watching Maddie fall in love with home all over again is wonderful.
Overall loved it all.

I love taking trips to the Autre with the Boys of the Bayou. This book follows Maddie as she comes back to town for thirty days as stated in the partner agreement that her grandfather signed with Leo Landry. The goal of the Landrys is to make sure she decides not to sell her share of the business… the only issue is Owen. Owen and Maddie have a history. I love how Owen takes care of everyone and I also love how crazy Maddie can get. I also can’t wait to see Swayer and Kennedy fall, which I believe Swayer is next.
Maddie is back after leaving the Bayou twelve years ago. She is set to sell her part in the family bussiness as fast as possible and come back to her quite life in San Francisco. But her attraction to Owen is still so strong they can’t keep their hands from each other. Will Owen convince her to stay and be happy again? A wild love story And great as audiobook, both very real narrators.
I LOVE these characters and I’m so happy to have spent more time with them. It just feels comfortable being in their world again. The story is great and made me chuckle so many times. Angie Hickman and Tanner De Bruyne bring the characters to life and I got used to the way they narrate them. Such a good listen.
Maddie and Owen’s Crazy Love – Audiobook Review
This series is awesome and so fun to listen to! All the characters in this story are great and I love the crazy family dynamics. I laughed so much in this story with the antics of Maddie and Owen and their protectiveness of each other. Maddie and Owen and hot together and I love their story! I loved the male narration in this story and Tanner did a great job for the male and female voices. I wasn’t in love with the female narrator, but thought she was good. This can be listened to as a stand alone but it’s more enjoyable if you listened to the series because you can follow the continuing story of the characters, which is so much fun! I can’t wait to listen to the next book! #AudiobookObsession #TheFlock

Sweet Home Louisiana by Erin Nicholas is a second chance romantic comedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Angie Hickman and Tanner De Bruyne.
This is the second book in the Boys of the Bayou series and can be read as a standalone. However, I would highly recommend reading them in order since the stories are interconnected.
This is the second book of Erin’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. Her books always leave me with a smile. I absolutely loved the relationship between Owen and Maddie.
I can’t wait to read the next book in the series Beauty and the Bayou so I can get Sawyer and Juliet’s story.
Angie and Tanner did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would highly recommend this book if you love second chance romances, romantic comedies, or small town romances.

This is book 2 in the Boys of the Bayou series and can be read/listened to as a standalone. This is a second chance small town romance. Owen is and great guy and Maddie is a strong woman despite everything she has been through. I love how they both protect their friends and family no matter what. They have such amazing chemistry. Erin writes great characters and small towns that are full of fun and steam. Both narrators were new to me and were good in their narration. Another five star story from Erin.
Oh how I do love those bayou boys! This series is awesome so far with some great characters that grab you heart and don’t let go. The push and pull these two had was the perfect combination and watching them let their guards down again was just what I needed for my little getaway from real life.
This is a perfect example of second chance romance done Rom-Com style. I loved this story so much. Basically, from the beginning Owen and Maddie and the whole Autre crew had me cracking up. Especially the crazy lengths Owen and Maddie went to for each other. But it was so clear that their feelings for each other ran deep the more the story continued. They may have started as childhood sweethearts, but their love was very adult and just real now.
The flow was great as well. One scene or situation just flowed seamlessly into the other and I enjoyed myself so much listening to it develop and evolve. The characters both main and secondary were honestly my favorite part of this story though. I got so invested and I just wanted to see what they would do or say next and wanted to see them get their happily ever after.
The narration was fantastic. Both voices were new to me but seemed well suited to the story and they gave a good performance. They were animated, and had a good accent going, and just made this a good listen.

**4.5 Stars**
Sweet Home Louisiana was a sweet and a little bit angsty and a little bit crazy second chance romance with some serious heat!!! Yowza, Erin Nicholas brought the chemistry in this book for sure. Maddie returns home to the bayou, a place she hasn’t been in over a decade because for her home brings a lot of feelings and she left that place behind and started over across the country. But now, she is back and everyone and everything is testing her patience and her sanity, including Owen, who has always made her the craziest.
I absolutely loved the setting of this story and the imagery painted by the author in the telling of the story in relation to the bayou and the alligators and the swamp tours. Having been on one before and thoroughly enjoyed it, this book had me wanting to definitely go back. I absolutely adore the Landry family. I loved everything about Maddie and Owen reconnecting and getting their second chance. I enjoy this author’s writing style and cannot wait to dive into Sawyer’s book next!
