There’s not much to say about the story, the blurb says it all! “His Sweet Hellion” is a highly entertaining story, quick and easy to read, with an excellent storyline, well developed characters, plenty of plot twists, and full of intrigue, suspense and a romance with a satisfying HEA. I highly recommend it.

This is a romantic, intriguing and sweet story. Rhys was discharged from the army after being accused of leaving the battlefield during a battle, when it was actually his commanding officer who bailed on his soldiers. Most of the soldiers in the battle died as a consequence of being left, and Rhys took it upon himself to see to all of the families of the fallen soldiers. One particular family he kept putting off seeing, the family of Tory Bamfield, the man who died in his arms. When Rhys did finally go to the family, he found only Emma, Tory’s twin sister. Emma didn’t want anything to do with Rhys, she just wanted to grieve alone, but Rhys took over the business Emma had kept for her brother, and protected Emma from the sleezball Major. In the beginning they fought the attraction between them, but eventually gave in to it, then their world was torn apart. Both of these strong, stubborn people fight for what they want, and what is right. A couple of twists at the end make the story completely satisfying.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Betrayal, deceit, and lies are the name of the game in this great historical romance. Can Rhys and Emma uncover the truth and have a future together?

A man haunted by his time in battle. Dishonor, Coward, Shame, Disgrace. All the words that had been thrown at him when he had been wongly accussed of abandoning his men. But it was his superior officer Viscount Munro who had left them. Unfortunately he could not find anyone who survived to back up what really happened. Abandoned by even his family, he goes to Blackstone Abbey hoping he can foget everything that had happened. Rhys Macleod was a haunted man.
Emma Bamfield only wanted her twin brother. When she found out from Viscount Munro that it was Rhys that had abandoned his unit and her brother had died, she was intent on killing him. Really? Oh yes she had lost so much. But once she meets him, fate seems to have stepped in.
Can these two heal each other?
A novella that I really enjoyed.
This is a short quick read and a very enjoyable read at that. The story is well presented and easy to follow, the characters are well rounded and likable. If Scottish historical romance is your genre then give this author and this book a try, I doubt you shall be disappointed.

Emma went to kill Rhys for the injustice he had done. Rhys realized who she was and convinced her he wasn’t a traitor but was supposed to make sure she was safe. Can they resist their attraction for each other? Can they prove his innocence of desertion of his men? Will he get his inheritance reinstated as well as his title? Fun read with lots of interesting intrigue. And spunky characters.

Outstanding!
When on Booksprout I picked up three of Tarah Scott’s books based on their covers and hoping for enjoyable books what I can say is that I was not disappointed each book was outstanding! This one has Emma attempting to avenge the of her twin brother. What Emma believes and what the truth is perhaps different will she find out the truth before she does something regrettable? It is not a long book but has great characters and a super story. Two thumbs up and star for Ms. Scott! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

The characters are authentic, believable and so realistic it’s easy to relate. The scenes are so vividly detailed there’s no trouble interpreting each scenario as they play off one another fluidly. Incredible job Tarah, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
This is a wonderful story that is well written and keeps you interested from start to finish. I thought Rhys and Emma were such likeable characters and even though life has not treated them kindly, they persevere and do the best they can. Emma thinks of herself as a fallen woman and Rhys has been given a dishonorable discharge from the army, accused of abandoning his men. Emma also hears that Rhys is responsible for having killed her brother!! The truth finally comes out, though, and the two of them can’t resist the attraction between them.

I Loved this story, I couldn’t stop reading it until I had finished it. The characters are well written and word sage is so good you can actually feel their pain and desperation. It’s a fast paced s with drama, suspense, twists and turns, intrigue and romance. Rhys and Emma work well together, he is falsely accused of being a coward, branded a deserter and blamed for the death of the men serving under him. Emma wants to avenge her brothers death and kill Rhys. But in the end their attraction for one another is to much for them to ignore. You’ll have to grab a copy to find out how and if they get their HEA. I will definitely be following this author.

Anges Vengeurs
This is a relatively short novella, but my, what a story! Emma and Rhys are such well-drawn characters. The author evokes so much sympathy for both of them. They had been through so much before they met, and the drama only increased afterward. Rhys is haunted by the fact that he was the only surviving member of his unit at a terrible battle. Though his superior officer was the one who fled the battlefield on that fateful day, that man has labeled Rhys the deserter and coward. Emma has lost her father and only finds out about her brother’s death on that battlefield in the opening scene of the book. They both had lost so much in different ways, yet they both have strength and compassion. If you like historical Scottish romance, this lovely little novella brings all the feels and may be right up your alley.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This is a fast moving story with really good main characters. Emma is just struggling to stay alive. She is is mourning the death of her brother. She is practically poverty stricken but so far is managing to just keep her ahead above water. Not that people are stepping up to try to help her. That doesn’t stop her from wanting to punish the man responsible for her brother’s death. The rumor says that is Rhys Macleod. And his cowardice has caused the death of many others as well.
When the two meet, he isn’t exactly what she expected. But then again neither is she. It doesn’t take Emma long to realize Rhys has more honor in his little finger than most men.
Everything comes to a good conclusion. I enjoyed this fully packed shorter novel.
It never did come out what the motive was for one woman. She was pressuring Emma to sell her shop and move into a tiny room in her boardinghouse. I can honestly say it didn’t really matter that much in the end. You got the feeling that the woman wasn’t doing it out of the goodness of her heart. But Emma comes out on top anyway.
There is a bit of steam in the story, just to let you know.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
This was a fairly short, fast paced, sweet, steamy, entertaining story about courage, cowardice, honor, survival, injustice, instincts, friendship, and love. It was well written, had great characters, and was refreshingly free from the annoying, wishy washy mental monologues that plague so many historical novels.
