Sweet Fate is the conclusion of Laurelin Paige’s Dirty Sweet duet. I absolutely loved Sweet Liar part #1 and honestly part #2 also had me glued to the pages!! Dylan continues to fight the pull Audrey seems to have on him. Audrey is trying to understand why Dylan keeps pulling away. I love the push and pull between these two. The chemistry is HOT and the story line just flows. Will Dylan realize that Audrey is his one and only? Will FATE intervene? I just loved this story, it’s a definite MUST READ in my opinion!!!
Dylan and Audrey had made me in love! The Age gap romance didnt bother me at all.I adored the British charm. It was sexy hot and scary with all the emotions. I love on how they went through the relationship.. it wasnt just jumping the gun. The dynamic was quick, bold and confidence..
A few months have gone by since Dylan and Audrey have last seen each other. Yet kismet happens again and they are in the same place. Their game of cat and mouse begins. Both not wanting to admit what is going on with their emotions. Their chemistry never went away, and when they come together it is combustible.
I loved this duet! The Dirty Sweet Duet is Dylan and Audrey’s story and I think I like this one the best. Book 1 is when they meet and have a smoking hot weekend before she goes back to college. In book 2 they see each other at Sabrina and Donavan’s wedding. Shortly after Audrey finishes school she finds herself with an internship in London and runs into Dylan, who runs the London office. Is it Kismet? Dylan is hung up on the age difference and the fact that he has been divorced and it has left a bitter taste for commitment with him. He fights his attraction so much that when he finally falls it is wonderful. Audrey is sweet and persistent. She know what she wants and went after it. It was destiny and poor Dylan didn’t stand a chance.
Sweet is definitely the word! This is a steamy and sweet romance you will not be able to put down!
When we last read about Dylan and Audrey, they had said good-bye, knowing they might never meet again. Now, months later, neither one of them has been able to forget the few days they spent together in New York.
Dylan has been a mess. Being back in London and working away has not been easy. He has immersed himself in the work but constantly in haunted by his memories of Audrey. He has not been able to motivate himself to date, anyone. Yes, months have passed, but the only woman he wants is Audrey. It has been a sad, dry season for his sex life without Audrey.
Running into Audrey at the park in the middle of London was never what he thought would happen. Yet there she was, prettier than ever. What begins again as a friendship for both of them becomes a torrent of emotions for Dylan. For Audrey, she is still trying hard to find out what Dylan’s feelings are for her. Will he ever be able to overcome his idea that she is too young for him?
Loved this book! It is the anticipation of what could be if only Dylan would relent that will keep you reading and shouting at him “Get over yourself”.
Absolutely a great series! Do not miss it!
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
“I didn’t belong in her world. She didn’t belong in mine. Life after love was a desert. That was where I lived. That was my truth. Any vision I had of Audrey being there with me was a mirage.”
I absolutely loved this duet!! Audrey is amazing – she’s strong, and sexy, and whimsical, and just perfect! Dylan is mature, and grounded, and commanding and totally smitten!
Dylan Locke has a problem. He can’t stop thinking about Audrey and that steamy week in the states, where he was supposed to be the teacher, yet became the student, in the lessons of love. Running in to her at the wedding of Sabrina and Donovan only proved to strengthen his undeniable attraction to her. Now, back in London, he’s trying his best to forget her, forget his delusions of making her his, and just move on. A walk in the park will put those plans straight to hell. She’s here. But one thing hasn’t changed, no matter how much they’re drawn to each other. She wants the fairy tale – the house with the picket fence, a brood of kids, the whole picture. Things he can’t give her. How is he going to keep this in the friend zone, and eventually watch her walk away with another man – a man that can give her what he himself, can’t?
Audrey Lind has a problem. She’s in love with Dylan Locke. The problem? He’s made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t want her. – not for the long haul anyway. Can she keep this at a friends-with-benefits arrangement while her heart is longing for so much more – for …..everything? She’s told him what she wants. He’s told her he can’t give it to her. How much is she willing to compromise to be with the man she loves?
Gah!!! This couple slays me!! Audrey pushing Dylan’s boundaries to try to make him admit what he feels for her. Dylan breaking his own heart over and over for the sake of her happiness. I totally swoon over this couple! This pair is a true testament to notion that, when fate puts the right person in your path, you need to stop and take notice. I would definitely recommend this duet to everyone !!
First of all, I don’t remember having read a whole male POV in a book and enjoy it. Sweet Fate not only different cause it’s a whole book with male POV, but cause it got me to think and feels so much, I feel like this book just slap me hard.
Told from the male POV Sweet Fate got me thinking, are men really feels and think like Dylan? Or is it just because the author is a
woman?
And it got me to feel like Dylan is me with his fear of getting hurt after loosing and got hurt in the process. Making him a cynic with giant wall around him.
And in the same time Audrey is me as well with her bravery putting her self out there and love with all her heart.
A five star brilliant for how the author write a simple plot line but dig down and deep for all the feelings. For all the characters to relate with reality.
The second book of Dylan and Aubrey’s tale. The books are best enjoyed together. Dylan is missing Aubrey since he came back to London. When he is walking through a park he thinks he is hallucinating when he thinks he sees her. Turns out she is in London and the two begin seeing each other as friends.
Super hot angsty read. Dylan is damaged from his past. Aubrey is sweet and hopeful. I liked how Dylan came to terms with himself. Just great characters in a brilliantly plotted duet. I liked how the familiar characters in the previous stories popped into this one. Smart, gorgeously written romance.
What a wonderful way to conclude Audrey and Dylan’s love story. Sweet fate was everything I expected and more and it certainly gave me all the feels I want from a great read.
Before I go any further I do have to say if you haven’t read Sweet Liar please stop reading and go and pick that book up because you do need to have read it before starting on Sweet Fate.
Dylan firmly believes he is too old for a relationship with Audrey and he plants himself in the friend zone but Audrey still believes if it’s meant to be fate will step in and put them in the same city at the same time. That all happens when Audrey gets her dream job in London but will Dylan be prepared to act on the feelings he has or will he let her slip away again because of his fear of love and relationships……
Wonderful characters, sizzling chemistry and a story that will captivate you from the first line all go into making this one of my favourite reads of 2019. Looking forward to see where this very talented author takes us next.
4 ”It’s Kismet” Stars!
Dylan Locke and Audrey Lind’s story began in Sweet Liar where they met in New York and shared explosive passion together. Dylan couldn’t get over their age difference, and felt he wasn’t what she needed or deserved. He didn’t do committed relationships, and didn’t believe in forever or happy endings. He was a cynic who closed down his emotions long ago after a broken heart destroyed him. He’s accepted his bachelor status, and co-owns an advertising firm called Reach, Inc. He runs their offices in London. He hasn’t seen Audrey for several months, and after secretly pining for her was trying to move on. She had her entire future ahead of her, and they had different goals. Audrey believed in fate, and that the universe would bring her one true love into her life. She wanted the complete fairytale, and was holding out for her happily ever after.
Audrey was just a fantasy Dylan was determined to stop fixating over. He didn’t belong in her world, and it was time to let her go. Then when he least expects it their paths cross again, and he doesn’t have the will power to stay away anymore. She was still absolutely irresistible, and he wanted her, but should they complicate things again? She’s still not looking for anything casual, and he still believes he has nothing to offer her. They try to be just friends, but the sexual tension is on fire. He learned the only way to survive is without unnecessary entanglements, but can he actually watch her date? Giving her up isn’t as easy as he thought it would be, and soon they decide to try an arrangement they think might work. He just has to protect his heart by keeping her at arm’s length. Easier said than done. Soon it’s pure ecstacy when they touch, and he’s developed feelings that he doesn’t know what to do with. Suddenly he’s attached to her, and very confused. Until Audrey he’d been numb inside. Is he prepared to let her go, or will he finally stand up to his fears and risk it all for love?
Sweet Fate: Dirty Sweet #2 is the conclusion of Dylan and Audrey’s love story. I really enjoyed getting their HEA, and look forward to more in this series!
Sweet Fate is a sweet slow burn with a lot of heat! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
Dylan & Audrey’s Story is crazy hot! Audrey tried so hard to not love Dylan and Dylan tries the same. Sometimes things are Fate and some Kismet!
I really enjoyed that we got a glimpse into some of the other characters that loved Amanda, with Dylan and Ellen being her parents. I found those parts super emotional.
Audible: Carly Robins was perfection Audrey’s Character & Shane East (whom is my favorite male narrator right now) was sexy and smooth. Shane East doing the lines in the male POV as Audrey.. I kept thinking British Valley Girl! Cracked me up!
This is the conclusion of Audrey and Dylan’s story and you don’t want to miss it! Audrey and Dylan complements each other’s lives so well and brings out the best of each other. But Dylan still believe that love is not real and if you don’t love, you don’t get hurt. Audrey is younger and her dream is to have it all and she wants it all. Fate keeps bringing Audrey and Dylan together and the weirdest places. When Audrey ends up in London for a paid internship, fates brings Dylan into her life again. The two knows where each other stand on the idea of love and relationship. But they are still attracted to each other and can’t resist each other. They develop a “friendship” and gets quite comfortable with each other but as Audrey’s internship comes to an end, they must decide if what they have is what each of them wants. Dylan is scared and Audrey loves Dylan but she knows that until he lets down his walls, they can’t have a relationship. it takes a personal crisis to open up Dylan’s eyes to the realities of life but is he too late with Audrey?
What a Fabulous ending to this Dirty Sweet Duet!!! Dylan and Audrey’s story will have you falling in love with their characters. Dylan, a man who fights his attraction to a woman that turns his world upside down, and Audrey, a young woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to pursue it. Laurelin Paige has written another steamy duet that I could not put down.

What a tremendously happy ending for Dylan and Audrey. I LOVED that this was all from Dylan’s POV. He was most reluctant when it came to his affection and chemistry with Audrey and seeing him go through all those fears of potential heartbreak was quite endearing.
He was so hung up on their age gap, and used his past hurts as solid reasons for not pursuing more while also coming to terms that Audrey was the one person to bring color back into his life. Her youth and exuberance for living was something he couldn’t ignore. She brightened his day and her strength and bravery for facing fears and life’s hurdles made it that much harder.
I couldn’t be more happy at how things turned out for them. They were the epitome of “opposites attract” and Kismet was the exact word to describe the force behind their meeting. These characters were truly fated to be together and had it not been for Audrey’s tenacity at proving it to Dylan, he would have missed out on the best life that was in store for him.
This was a magnificent conclusion to their story!!!
I love Audrey and Dylan’s story. I enjoyed the chase and their banter and just the feeling you got when they were together. Their chemistry is off the charts. Dylan’s push got to be a bit much. I really enjoyed the story being in his point of view and being able to understand why he felt the way he was feeling and what kept driving him, even though he was blind to his own feelings.
I just love Audrey! She is a breath of fresh air and you see and feel her breathing life back into Dylan. She’s a wonderful character and a friend that everyone could use in their life.
The writing was full of feeling and I couldn’t wait to see what was in store for these two. I loved watching their story unfold.
I absolutely love this conclusion to the Dylan & Audrey duet! After the cliffhanger that Laurelin left us with in book 1, I was so nervous as to how she was going to wrap their story up… would we get a happily ever after? Will Dylan come around and fall for Audrey as she so clearly has for him? Audrey is such a perfect leading lady. She’s romantic, but also strongwilled and goes for what she wants. Dylan is the ultimate older man playboy, who ends up being helpless to her charms. Every different one of the Reach men have had me swooning, but Dylan is easily taking a top stop!!
Dylan and Audrey are a sensual and passionate couple who have uncontrollable feelings for each other that cannot be denied. They are as different as night and day, which makes their story that much more intriguing. Audrey is fun, where Dylan is serious, she is sunlight, where he is a foggy night, and Audrey is colorful and vivacious where he is dark and brooding. Their pent up emotions have exploded to the surface and their sexy repartee has given way to a reawakening of the memories they shared of the week they spent together.
A chance encounter with Audrey made Dylan realize that he couldn’t live without her and having her near him again was a dream come true. He had been so lonely without her; his mind consumed with thoughts of Audrey every minute of every day but he didn’t do commitments so they would have to remain friends, even if it killed him. Any time with Audrey was priceless because he desperately needed to feel her goodness as it penetrated his cold heart.
Every word and sentence that Laurelin Paige wrote to tell the tale of Dylan and Audrey was sensuous, volatile and enticing. It was impossible to stop reading because I was caught up in their swirling emotions and desperate desires. Dylan was a man who kept his true feelings hidden from Audrey, and would rather be alone than admit how he felt about her. Audrey believed that her relationship with Dylan was kismet; written in the stars, destined to be soulmates, together forever, and their journey was filled with heartache and denial, romance and passion. We can only hope that they can figure it out before it is too late.
5 Star Review of Sweet Fate (Dirty Sweet #2) by Laurelin Paige
This is the conclusion to Dylan Locke and Audrey Lind’s story and it was all I was hoping that it would be. If you have not read Sweet Liar, then you need to stop and read it before you read Sweet Fate which is told from Dylan’s point of view.
After parting ways, he knows that it was the right thing to do, but there is a still a large part of him who wants Audrey. Dylan knows that there is no sense in pursing a relationship with Audrey, not just because she is almost young enough to be his daughter, but because they both want very different things from a relationship and he believes that she deserves more than he can offer her.
From the outset, the attraction between Dylan and Audrey is powerful and hard to resit. Audrey is the one who does the majority of the chasing, which is a novel take on most romance books, however for these two it really works. Thanks to an acrimonious divorce, Dylan no longer believes in happily ever after.
When fate puts Dylan and Audrey together again, will Dylan ignore his feelings, or will he take a chance?
Can Audrey bring Dylan back to life and convince him to trust in her and the feelings they have for one another or are they destined to remain apart?
I want more of these two!!! Ekkk! I LOVED their story. I did not expect this story to go the direction it did, but it was so perfect. every single moment was just perfect.
He fought against his feelings, even though it took him a bit to realize them, he just didn’t believe he could be her everything. her true happiness. But she pushed him, and no matter how much he wouldn’t allow himself to fall, he fell and hard. Book 1 I felt their pull, their desire for each other. and in this book I did as well. I felt what they felt. it was so powerful. I truly enjoyed their story and how it all fell into place.
This is a taboo at its finest. Laurelin gives us such a great story with her true fashion full of emotions, desires and wants. Yes its yummy with some very hot moments. but the connection these two have is so powerful you cant help but fall head over heals for them!
Sweet Fate just may have been the best game of cat and mouse ever! One I wish never had to end. Despite their age difference, Dylan and Audrey have chemistry so hot it burns up the pages. Dylan has his mind set that he is not the right guy for Audrey, but the more time spent together, he realizes he has fallen in love with the much younger woman. But for him, love is not enough. Audrey believes in the fairy tale. Dylan, however, is cynical due to being burned in the past. He pushes her away at every turn. Talk about frustrating. Despite his stubbornness, I LOVED Dylan Locke. You could feel his love and protectiveness towards Audrey in every page. So many times, I was screaming at him to stop being a bloody wanker. Audrey’s zest for life was so refreshing. I loved how Donovan had his hand in Dylan and Audrey’s relationship. I also loved that Dylan’s ex-wife gave him the push he needed to finally open up to the idea of love again.
I highly recommend the Dirty Sweet Duet!
