Sweet Fate is book 2 in the Dirty Sweet duet. It is the perfect conclusion to Dylan and Audrey’s story. It’s the perfect mix of slow burn and hot and steamy, with a little bit of angst thrown in. I absolutely loved it!!!
I have been so in love with the Dirty Series since the original bad boy Donavon graced the first pages. Weston has always been my favorite but I have to say Dylan Locke certainly has taken the swoony game up a notch in the Dirty Sweet Duet. He was fabulously funny, flirty, hot and completely not ready for the young, fiesty and unpredictable Audrey Lind. She is full of romanticism and he has completely turned his back on forever love due past betrayals and hurt. Sweet Fate starts with many months between Audrey and Dylan having last been together and when they see each other the chemistry sizzles like no time has passed. Their banter is great, their friendship grows even deeper and the feels just keep going on. I laughed out loud, I threw my kindle, and I cried streaming tears, but ultimately there is another incredible HEA with a great epilogue to carry you through. Can’t wait for more.
This book literally takes you and places you right on Cloud 9! Although the trip there isn’t a smooth one, every second is well worth it. Sweet Fate demonstrates what happens when things between Dylan and Audrey deepen, get complicated. The struggle for both is grueling, bordering impossible. With fear being his ultimate hurdle, Dylan continues on a path that is familiar in order to protect himself.
The blossoming of this relationship between this couple is truly AMAZING! Audrey’s perseverance and Dylan’s obstination make for a stunning read. Running the gambit of emotions as I read, I was eager to find out what was written in the stars for these two. You often hear that “the fun is in journey, not the destination”; however, Laurelin Paige makes both undeniably fun AND breathtakingly romantic.
This duet left me incredibly content and yearning for more. I absolutely loved the push and pull of this love affair and never wanted it to end. Laurelin Paige – you are magnificent!!!
Sweet Fate is the conclusion to Dylan and Audrey’s duet. This was a great read. Even though they were both frustrating at times, I did really love them. Their connection and chemistry was amazing. They were perfect together.
Dylan & Audrey are hands down my favorite couple that I have read by Laurelin Paige to date!
Oh Dylan was beyond swoon worthy! And Audrey was the perfect spunky girl next door! Dylan & Audrey had amazing chemistry and I loved their friendship banter. Dylan & Audrey’s journey had some unexpected twists, but it was worth it in the end.
I loved all of these characters and visiting their world. I hope there are more books to come in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed this book.
Sweet Fate is book 2 of the Dirty Sweet Series and let me tell you that Laurelin Paige brings out the hot and Sexy in an older man.
Continuing on from Sweet Liar this book draws you and has you sitting on the sidelines cheering Audrey on and saying go get your man. Then you have the times you want to grab Dylan, hit upside the head and say wake up man this is kismet.
You can’t help but fall in love with these two. The way Laurelin Paige has wriiten Dylan and Audrey together with the push and pull is deliciously devine and all consuming. It will leave you thinking and feeling the moto ‘never say never’.
Do you believe in love? Do believe in true connection? Do you believe in fate. Do you believe in kismet? In a world full of love and romance, our lives are governed by fate. Is there such a thing as true fate? Is there such a thing as a strong link to the one you love? Is there as such as The One? Well, Sweet Fate makes you believe in the power of The One. Sweet Fate makes you feel strongly about true love. It is fleeting. It is special. It is illuminating. It is captivating. Sweet Fate will make you believe in fate and true love.
Sweet Fate is the deeply emotional conclusion to a mesmerizing duet. I felt my heart leap with joy at the ending of such a lovely romance. Laurelin Paige takes you on a journey of sweet love, companionship and friendship mixed with some sinful and delicious sexual tension. Heat Warming. Seductively sweet. Funny. Sweet Fate is a steamy romance with a refreshing story of chemistry, connection with an age gap trope to invite you. Laurelin Paige always makes my heart full with her heart tingling stories. They always grip me and make me fall me in love. With the characters. With the plot. Double the sexiness and triple the emotion, Sweet Fate will definitely melt your heart and make you combust with the heat.
Dylan Locke and Audrey Lind have such a beautiful chemistry. In Sweet Liar, they made me a true believer in their powerful connection for each other. In Sweet Fate, their chemistry added a layer of emotion. They were times, I felt Dylan was too cynical for me to be honest. But Audrey brought the light and freshness. This made me admire her a lot.
If you need a sweet, sexy, taboo and forbidden story, definitely check out the Dirty Sweet Duet.
Fate finally played its hand.
I loved the first book in this duet, Sweet Liar. Audrey was all sunshine to Dylan’s cloudy skies. But this book was all Dylan’s POV, and to me it made the book imbalanced. I was annoyed with Dylan’s inner monologues most of the book. Audrey called Dylan a coward, and I wholeheartedly agreed because he was so bitter and cynical from a previous relationship and scared to admit out loud that he had actually fallen in love with her. Audrey got points from me for taking charge of her life! Dylan almost lost her, but Audrey really did drag Dylan into her sunshine! The last section of the book & the happy ending did make up for most of the drawn out cloudy skies!
At the end of Sweet Liar, readers were left wondering if the passion and connection Dylan and Audrey shared would be enough for him to see past their age difference, his commitment issues, and the fact that their lives seemed to headed in drastically different directions. And to be honest…I really didn’t know what Dylan would decide or if Audrey would wait long enough for him to change his mind about defining what they mean to each other and to actually take a risk on what could be love despite his misgivings and his negative views on a forever kind of relationship.
But that’s where Fate steps in…kismet if you will…because after months of separation, Dylan and Audrey reconnect and find that their attraction and desire for one another is still there, but that doesn’t mean Dylan is ready to go all in; in fact, he’s still holding firm to his decision to keep Audrey at arm’s length. Regardless of his head overruling his heart, though, Dylan still wants Audrey in his life, so while it’s not easy, these two become friends, which means that readers as well as Audrey still hold out hope that Dylan will finally realize that Audrey is meant to be his in every possible way.
It’s important that Sweet Fate was told through Dylan’s perspective because
it’s truly up to him whether he’s going to stop fighting his desire and feelings for Audrey and see what happens or if he’ll continue to question his thoughts and his actions, assessing every single aspect of his need for her. I don’t think I would have liked or enjoyed this duet if Dylan’s point of view wasn’t shared because he’s the one who doesn’t do love anymore…he’s the one who isn’t willing to put his heart on the line again, ensuring his already fractured heart doesn’t splinter anymore. And if their story was only told through Audrey’s perspective, I would not have understood why she kept going back to a man who couldn’t or wouldn’t give her what she wants.
I do wish readers were privy to Audrey’s perspective in some situations, but that’s because I love getting the full picture of everything that happens and the reasons behind each action.
Here’s why I think their age difference works for them, and I don’t think it’s because of Dylan being wiser or more experienced due to his age…I think it’s the fact that Audrey is a hopeless romantic…an optimist about life and love…a beautiful, sweet, and forgiving young woman who is willing to put EVERYTHING on the line for love, and that’s exactly the kind of woman that Dylan needs to wake him up…to show him that love doesn’t have to cost pain…to help him understand that she’ll protect his heart with every part of herself.
Sweet Fate is full of sexual tension due to the push and pull between Dylan and Audrey and the constant question about whether or not Dylan will give in or hold steadfast to his quest to keep his heart intact.
I adore Laurelin Paige’s stories, and I enjoyed her Dirty Sweet duet; Dylan and Audrey’s journey to happily ever after isn’t an easy one, but most of the time, love isn’t, and it’s in the struggle where people truly see what they’re made of, which is exactly the story Paige told in Sweet Liar and Sweet Fate.
4.5 Poison Apples
Audrey is mine. I Flove her. I want to write her love poems and sing her love songs. I want to ride on the London Eye with her and skip through the daffodils in St James’ park. Maybe even watch something raunchy together whilst eating ice-cream. She’s bloody ace. Laurelin created a gorgeous character. Sweet, funny and a little bit naughty.
Dylan is a goner! There is no way at all he could resist her pouty little face. She tortures him in all kind of ways. He is more wound up than a shop full of cuckoo clocks.
This sweet and dirty little duet was a proper little tonic. It made me want to hop on a train back to London.
It was Kismet!!!
I think my emotions were all over the place with this story. There was a chance these two were not going to get their happily ever after, it was close. I laughed, I got frustrated with Dylan, but I also swooned and sighed over the ending.
Sweet Fate is the conclusion of Dylan Locke and Audrey Lind’s story, and what a surprising and satisfying ending. Laurelin Paige delivered big time with Sweet Fate. I admired Audrey for her bright and sunny disposition, unfailing loyalty, and big-hearted romantic heart. And Dylan, for all his uptight British mannerisms, is quite a sexy, filthy talker. Wow! There are some steamy scenes that really turned up the heat. I loved it!
Sweet Fate is the perfect ending to this duet. I love Audrey and Dylan together and could not put this book down. They push each other’s boundaries and their chemistry is undeniable. I can’t wait to read more from this series.
Absolutely loved the continuation of Audrey’s and Dylan’s story! I was so excited for the second book and Laurelin exceeded my expectation. The characters were wonderfully written – they were witty and smart, Audrey spontaneous with a catchy bubbly personality, Dylan with his rational brooding personality.
I loved how Laurelin set the story to a slightly different environment and played with the shift of power between the characters. They explored options and it made the whole plot line so much more entertaining!
Also, not like I’m gonna tell you something new but Laurelin knows how to write steamy. Dylan and Audrey have a great chemistry as they proved in the previous book but the build up in Sweet Fate is just unbelievable. I truly wish we could get more of them!
I liked this story, I’m not normally interested in way older man, way younger girl, but I love Laurelin’s writing so I wanted to read this duet. I’m glad I did. I loved the ending. Loved how Dylan was finally able figure out his life instead of letting it fly by him. I loved the scenes with Ellen, they were small but quite powerful!!! I definitely feel like it wrapped up very quickly but I liked the way it all came together so I can’t complain too much. Audrey was impossible not to like, she was so sweet and full of fun. All in all, Sweet Fate was a good story and the duet was well worth the read!!!
How does one lose three hours of their Sunday morning, I hear you ask! Simple. Download the newest Laurelin Paige book and et voilà! Three hours gone. What you get back though, hoboy!
Dylan Locke has had me enamoured since he first entered the world of Dirty back in Dirty Filthy Rich Men. I hadn’t known back then that the author would be creating a Duet about Audrey and him. So many ups and downs. The push and pull of a man shattered into so many small pieces it appeared he was unfixable. Full of cynicism and hopelessness, Dylan is magnetically drawn to Audrey. Shiny and glowing with belief in fate that she will one day meet The One.
‘It was Audrey. She’s ruined me when I’d seen her again. I’d been reminded that she was the brightest light in existence. Everything else was dull in comparison’
Like the first installment in this duet, Dylan is highly allergic to entanglements with strings. Stringless and bowless, he steers himself down a path of simplicity (or so he thought!) Like two opposing forces, he’s pushed off of his chosen course and towards the one thing he could not foresee.
This read, unlike Sweet Liar, is told mainly from Dylan’s point of view, making for one very interesting foray into the mind of a man I have known for over five books now. I witnessed him wade through his worst memories; from the death of a loved one to the fail of his marriage.
Seeing Audrey from the inside of another person is a revelation. Her story is still full of depth and interest. In fact, the way she is through a large part of this book had me guessing truly how she was thinking and feeling, considering what we learnt in the first part. Don’t have a clue what I mean? Read this duet.
Audrey and Dylan steam the pages like a housewife dives through the ironing on a Sunday afternoon. It is one hawt read, scorching hawt; five-alarm fire hawt…okay, okay you get my drift.
‘I loved all of it.
I loved her.
I was in love with Audrey.
What was I supposed to do now?’
The final few chapters were pure gold. I couldn’t get enough of it, but like all great things; they must come to an end. This may be the finale of Dylan and Audrey’s story but it isn’t yet the end of the Dirty universe. Coming up next year is the story of Cade. MIA with many a question being asked who and what is Cade. A name but no story. A name with no history other than what other characters have provided. I am truly intrigued to witness the coming books. Bravo Ms. Paige, you keep outdoing yourself and I’m no longer surprised.
Sweet Fate by Laurelin Paige was great and passionate conclusion to Dylan’s and Audrey’s story.
I just loved the spice that was in the story! The action between Audrey and Dylan was HOT! Steamy Hot! I loved then together. They’re chemistry was on fire!
I loved the angst. Having read a few books of Mrs. Paige, I’ve always known her her books to be full of angst, and this was no exception. If it was not Dylan themselves, then it was between Dylan and Audrey. It was awesome!
I just loved the idea of the story. It had its poignancy and showed the bright and dark side of love, and how it affects people. It was a beautifully written story.
I have to say, this duet is the best of this author’s that I’ve read, and I absolutely adored the Fixed series! If there is one author to read in this lifetime, it’s this author, and it is not an understatement.
I couldn’t wait for this book, for the HEA for Dylan and Audrey! Sweet, confused Dylan broke my heart. He was so in love with Audrey, but he just could see it, accept it, or act upon it…until he could. I cried big ole crocodile tears for these two. Audrey, the ray of light that she is, didn’t give up on him, on them, on her uncompromising romantic ideals. Her positivity is contagious and not only made Dylan want to be a better man, but made me want to be more like her, as well.
Yay for happy endings—hard earn and entirely worth ever succulent word!
This conclusion to Dylan and Audrey’s story was a bit more angsty than the first book. In the first book, Dylan agreed to help Audrey by teaching her about her own sexual awareness. Since the story is told from Dylan’s point of view, we only hear his internal risk-averse thoughts about relationships and his speculations about how Audrey is doing on her dates with a variety of different men she meets. With the 18 year age gap and his stance on not getting into another serious relationship, Dylan continues to push Audrey away. Audrey tries to respect Dylan’s wishes, so she’s also trying to keep him at arm’s length, but inevitably, the sexual tension eventually blows them together. I loved the way the story plays out at the end. The author did a great job closing a circle that we didn’t really realize needed to be completed so Dylan could finally let go of his past.
Sweet Fate by Laurelin Paige is the conclusion to Dylan and Audrey’s story, which began in Sweet Liar. Dylan has been thinking of Audrey but never dreams of seeing her again. Then when she enters his life again, though their chemistry is just as strong as it was before, he knows he can never be what she wants. But when she begins to explore a life outside of Dylan’s, can he truly give her up?
Dylan is an older man who felt love and relationships were way behind him. He believed he was a realist and did not believe in happily-ever-after and he was okay with that. Audrey was his complete opposite. Younger, full of life and still believes in fate, falling in love and finding your happily-ever after. When they run into each other again, their connection is as strong as ever, but Dylan knows he can never truly be what she needs or wants. Will he realize all he could have if he only opened his heart or will he let her walk away for good this time?
Though Sweet Fate by Laurelin Paige started a bit slower for me, I loved watching Dylan and Audrey maneuver their chemistry and relationship. The connection was strong between them, even as he tried to keep her at arm’s length. This older man/younger woman romance was a bit angsty and very steamy.

Happy reading!
Dear Dylan Locke… will you marry me?
Gah! Another hero created by the talented Laurelin Paige who stole a piece of my heart. After reading Sweet Liar I couldn’t wait for continuation and Sweet Fate made my patience rewarded. Although the course of events was slow and at times frustrated me over Dylan’s stubborness, the ending met all of my expectations!
In this part we meet our sexy Brit from a different angle. Dylan is in a constant battle between his heart and his mind and his longing for Audrey is unimaginable. In spite of this, he still stubbornly believes that he has nothing to offer her and that this sweet girl deserves more than he can give her. But when fate takes matters into its own hands and makes the girl get an internship in one of the London galleries will he still deny himself? Will the age difference, bad experiences and lack of faith in love continue to hinder the kismet that still pushes Audrey and Dylan towards each other?
I’m admirable for Dylan’s devotion to Audrey. The man tried very hard to keep his desires in check that Audrey could find her fairytale. But he needed her presence in his life, which is why he tortured himself as her friend and watched as the object of his desire dates with other guys. However, the sexual tension between these two was too strong, which is why they attempted to make arrangement as friends with benefits. But you can’t keep your heart locked when you spend time with a person who speeds up its beating. The decision is simple- you surrender to destiny and you are happy, or you continue to live in denial and are eternally miserable. Dylan needed a solid jolt to finally make a decision.
Laurelin Paige is one of my favorite authors for a reason. Her novels are compelling and sexy. The heroes are pulled straight out of dreams and reading about their stories is very pleasurable. The Dirty Sweet duet was an amazing read for me. I highly recommend!
