Tim Stag had everything under control…until he hired Alice. He has taken charge of his family ever since his mother’s death, raising his brothers while finishing college and law school early. Now he runs an empire, and nothing will stand in his way as he looks to expand Stag Law.And then Alice Peterson comes along. The new corporate chef is supposed to give his company an edge, but Alice … an edge, but Alice Peterson is anything but corporate. Wild and spicy as her food, Alice sweeps into Stag Law and drives Tim to distraction. He’s not used to distraction.
At first, Alice fights her attraction to her brooding boss, but once she sees his softer side, she can’t resist a taste. Will their tryst be a flash in the pan or can they work through their differences to find a lasting love?
Sweet Distraction is a stand-alone, contemporary romance with an HEA and steamy love scenes. This is book one of a series–stay tuned for the other Stag Brothers and the women they weren’t expecting to love.

Love that a man takes responsibilty for his actions
Sweet Distraction by Lainey Davis is a contemporary romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Nikola Muckajev. This is book one in the Stag Brothers series but each book can be read as a stand-alone.
This is the first book of Lainey’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. You can’t help but fall in love with Tim and Alice. I can’t wait for the second book in the series Filled Potential to be released on audible so I can get Ty and Junipers love story.
Nikola did an amazing job on the narration. I can’t wait to listen to more of his projects in the future.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves contemporary romance or office romances.
Great Story & Narration Delightful & Heartfelt!
Sweet Distraction
Stag Brothers, Book 1
By: Lainey Davis
Narrated by: Nikola Muckajev
I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet romance, it is well written with interesting storylines that captivated me from start to end. The characters are likable and easy to relate to. Timber “Tim” Stag is all about work, he sometimes gets lost in work and forgets to eat. His Grandmother recommended hiring a corporate chef so he’ll have food for him and his employees. Alice Peterson recently graduated culinary school and applies for that job, she is ecstatic when she get it. The only problem is the attraction she feels for her boss, Tim, who also feels that attraction. They try to fight it but some things are meant to be. I liked how everything plays out in this book, it is not your typical office romance, it is so much more. I also liked the relationship Alice had with her family and how supportive they were of each other. Great camaraderie amongst the Stag brothers too. I highly recommend this fast pace book, it is potted out nicely and there is plenty of drama, a bit of angst, some heartfelt moments and so hot romance. Lainey Davis, thank you for the great story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Nikola Muchajev is a terrific narrator and voice performer. He does a great job portraying the characters, bringing them to life giving each their own voice, personality and attitude. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he projects the character’s passion & emotions into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank for you this great listen
Good read. Happy ending
Sweet Distraction by Lainey Davis
I so loved getting to know the characters Tim and Alice, I so can’t wait to read more of this series (Stag Brothers) and this Author (Lainey Davis). 5 Star from me.
This book was an enjoyable read. The plot was interesting and captivating. It held my interest throughout. The chemistry oozed between the main characters, Alice and Timber. As I was reading this work, I had to re-read several sentences; then, I realized that this narrative needed an editor that was hands-on. Nevertheless, I liked this enjoyable book.
Sweet Distraction is the first book in the Stag Brothers series. Each book is a stand alone and doesn’t have to be read in order. This book is a contemporary romance with a office and surprise baby trope. The writing isn’t perfect but the characters are interesting with a Insta-love vibe and a strong family unit. A sweet, short story it may be but the epilogue made my rating a 3.5 star with its HEA.
Timber “Tim” Stag is a corporate lawyer and the oldest of his siblings. After their mother died he stepped up and finished raising them. He has always been calm, collected and in control until his Gran sends a Chef to him to interview, she blows those traits of his to smithereens…
Alice “Al” Petersen just finished culinary school and hoped to land a great job that would still allow her time to cook for her dad and siblings. She wants the job offered to her but will she be able to keep her hands off of her boss?
Tim and Al has no control around each other and sneaks off to go a round and hopes that will scratch the itch. Unfortunately, once doesn’t work and the more time they spend with each other the more they want. Their distraction becomes much more sweeter when they find out another “ingredient” is about to be added to the mix…
A great boss/employee book at its finest. These two suffer such a tragedy at a young age and yet they are able to grow into wonderful if not misunderstood people. I really liked listening/reading this book and know I will be getting the second when available on audio.
This book was captivating and I love a happy ending. The character development was great, the romance was intense. I love the story, I love all of the details that make it believable. Can’t wait to read the next book.
An enjoyable must read!
