Dandelion Meadows is cursed.
Horrible name.
Horrible luck.

This book really fit the times we live in where no place is perfectly safe. I really didn’t worry about my kids at school, but it was something they were taught what to do in that situation.
Dani was scarred from her experience. Her mother died trying to protect her and her students. Her view as a survivor truly opened my eyes because she’s right. We remember the victims, but not those who survived. I loved that that she connected with Lachlan. It wasn’t the perfect situation. I was waiting on the twist, and I cried hard during it. I didn’t expect that!
Dani spent some time figuring herself out. I thought it was perfect. Can we please get an Ansel and Seth book? I mean something has to be going on with Seth!
OMG…. when she finally goes to see Sage. I was so glad when that door opened. I was ready to beg for Sage’s book. I loved that he gave Lachlan a hard time. I just loved this book. This author truly made me think about this one.
Absolutely amazing. A very raw and emotional story but it is so good. I wanted to read quicker but slowly at the same time. I loved the characters and the storyline. I have to be honest I was a bit of mess reading this. So so good.
This book was everything I needed right now. Forbidden romance, angst, and a slow burn romance like no other.
Dandelion Meadows has survived a horrible school shooting and to make matters worse she’s sent to finish her senior year at a different school. Lachlan Taylor is the high school counselor who tries to help her out her life back together. The more time they spend together the more they learn about living and loving.
This book was an amazing read Dandelion was an amazing female lead. She had been through so much and was so strong in spite of it. Lachlan was a great guy, he knew what he was feeling was not acceptable and they both struggled with it. There were so many emotions and pain but in the end the healing that comes from it all was simply beautiful.
“You can only fight gravity for so long, and the two of us have been falling together from the start.”
This was my first time reading a book by Micalea Smeltzer. It’ll come as no shock to anyone that has followed me or my reviews, that I was originally drawn to Sweet Dandelion for the forbidden aspect. However, the story of Dandelion Meadows ended up being so much more than I expected. This wasn’t an outrageously, scandalous forbidden romance between a student and her school counselor.
Sweet Dandelion is a story full of pain, healing, and so much heart. It’s about relationships—familial, friendship, romantic, and most importantly, with yourself. It’s everything Dani had to learn and reacquaint herself with after tragedy. She had experienced and lived through so much. I wanted nothing more than to hug her.
Lachlan Taylor is the epitome of a good guy. The events and feelings that transpired between him and Dani are anything less than ideal, and you see their struggle with it. But, they were anything less than made for each other. Light entered her life again with Lachlan’s presence, and I absolutely loved everything about them.
Relevant. Impactful. Sweet Dandelion is an emotionally-charged story about love in all it’s forms. I couldn’t get enough of these characters, and that goes for the wonderful secondary characters, too. If you decide to pick this book up once it releases, I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did.
I’m not big on forbidden romances but Micalea is one of my favorite authors so of course I will give a try to anything she writes. Sweet Dandelion was raw and profound. The subject is one that will hit you in the gut and make you feel on so many different levels. The characters in this story are real and relatable. There is at least one you can feel a connection with. I liked how Micalea built up Dani and Lachlan’s relationship. She showed the deep bond between the two and we’re able to see it grow to so much more. I also liked the friendships that Dani develops with her classmates and her relationship with her brother. Overall this was a story about survival, love, and hope. A good read that definitely hits you where it should.
Wow… just wow…
This incredible story had me hooked from the very first chapter.
Right from the get go I knew that this would be a book that really stuck with me. All aspects of Micalea’s writing blew me away and made it impossible to put the novel down.
Dani and Lachlan’s story is so emotional and so very real. Not only do their evolving and forbidden feelings catch the readers attention but their pasts do as well.
Some parts of the story are so raw that I (and any other reader as well) can practically feel and experience the emotional turmoil ourselves.
This book has left a impression on me, as I am sure it will many others. Micalea Smeltzer has absolutely one upped herself with this one. Her work just keeps getting better.
I cannot wait to see where she takes her writing and story telling talents following this. I know that I, without a doubt, want to read whatever she brings to her fans next.
I fell in love with this book from the start. Dandelion “Dani” Meadows experienced and survived a high school shooting. Now living with her brother, Sage and starting her senior year at a new school she needs to try to make sense of her new normal. Dani is assigned to meet with the schools guidance counselor daily, but didn’t expect such an unexplainable connection.
Lachlan Taylor is not expecting Dandelion Meadows. He’s not planning on the connection, overwhelming feeling to protect her, help her, save her.
I felt so many emotions while reading this book. There is a forbidden relationship, but it’s not made to feel wrong or dirty. It’s beautiful. Micalea did an amazing job with this book, these characters and this story. There are subjects that are so real and raw. I loved every word!
I am going to do my best to review this book and not give away any spoilers. This is Dani’s journey to heal herself after something truly horrible happens. I literally read this book in one sitting! I knew from page one that Dani’s story was going to break my heart. This is most definitely one of my favorites of the year. I absolutely loved Dani and I loved the other character. I think I feel in love with Mr Taylor or Lachlan, Sage and Ansel. Sasha was also a great side character. I’m really hoping there’s mire to come from these characters!
This has got to be micalea at her best!!!
“My sweet ,Dandelion . May you always be as free as the birds, as wild as the flowers, and untamed as the sea”
I’m struggling to find the words that will do this book the justice it deserves I absolutely loved it but I really dont think saying i loved it is enough !!!!
On a normal school day doing every day things that everyone takes for granted dandelion meadows world is changed forever when a gunman walks into school and opens fire, now starting her new school part of recovery is daily sessions with the school counselor,,,a very gorgeous mr taylor hes ment to help her with her grief and help her deal with the aftermath of the shooting , but the more time spent together the stronger the attraction and neither can deny the connection they share.
A relationship that should never be, he could lose his job hes the student counselor shes the student but as they say you cant choose who you fall in love with but how long can they keep it up before it all blows up ???
A beautifully written book that will make your heart ache, your pulse race and your face smile,, a book that once you start you’ll never be able to put down till you’ve finished and still be thinking about long after ,this book will definitely leave a lasting impression very highly recommended.
I literally can not say enough good things about this book! I just finished it and I absolutely loved Dani’s story. How she interacts with everyone and how the characters develop are amazing. At some points in this book I was ready to cry and rip my own heart out Micalea did such an amazing job this book is so heart breakingly good with enough angst you’ll need some tissues. It really shows how after every rain storm there will always be sunshine and a rainbow. It’s a story about how after something tragic happens you need to learn how to fly again and not that the tragedy consume you. And I absolutely LOVED Ansel literally everyone needs a best friend like him he was such an amazing character and such an amazing friend to Dani through the whole story!
