Meet the Kings. They’ll warm your heart… then get it racing. Fall in love with the wild, passionate, scandalous men, and the strong, confident women of this big family as they find lasting love in the quaint small town of Crown Creek. Each book is connected or can be read as a standalone. Crown Creek is a small town. Too small for Jonah King’s huge ego.
He’s everything I’m not. He’s everything I … ego.
He’s everything I’m not. He’s everything I hate. And now, he’s everything I hate… to love.
My best friend’s older brother is a huge rockstar now. If he believes that lets him get away with screwing over his family the way he did, he’s wrong.
I always hated what he did to them. I always hated him.
But then he shows up again. A different man from the one I remember. He’s humbled. Grieving.
Lost.
And suddenly I’m singing a different tune.
Instead of shouting, I’m saying, “touch me.” I’m saying, “kiss me again.” I’m saying, “please… please.”
I’m saying, “I had you all wrong. And I’m sorry.”
But I want a future and there’s no future with Jonah King. I’m a small-town kindergarten teacher and he’s a big time celebrity. We come from different worlds.
But the music we make together is too beautiful to ignore.

This author is new to me and I couldn’t wait to try this book. I initially struggled to get into the story as it was a little confusing with having to remember who was who. However, it did get better and this is a heart warming love story that leaves you sighing. I would happily download and read other books by this author, especially the ones for this series
This was my first time reading Theresa Leigh. Sweet Crazy Song was the last book in the Happily Ever After Collection I have been reading. It was another great surprise! Such a cute, fun, fast, read! It was part of her Crown Creek series but it can all be read as a stand-alone.
Jonah was back in his hometown paying his respects. As a rock star, most people were more than excited to see him but not his family. The falling out they had years ago had yet to be mended.
Ruby was the complete opposite of Jonah. While he lived the rock and roll life, she was corralling kindergarteners. Could the two of them come together and direct the school play or would it be too much?
Ruby soon finds that not everyone knows the real Jonah. Would sticking up for him change the way his family saw him? Would their two worlds come together or were they kidding themselves?
Such a sweet and loving best friends brother romance! Jonah and Ruby has such a great connection, I love when it feels so genuine! I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series!!
I want to point out that if you have issues with typos/grammar; you will have to look past some with this book. The only reason I mentioned it was because of all the reviews that pointed out how bad they were. To me, I barely noticed them. There were a few spots I had to re-read the sentence for it to make sense, but overall the story line was so good, it was super easy to not let those bother me!!
Someone once said, “When words fail, music speaks.” Although this is a novel, constructed with words and phrases, sentence structure, paragraphs and chapters, the music eloquently tells the story of Ruby and Jonah’s journey to happily ever after. With a flowing melody, a sometimes dissonant harmony, a dramatic crescendo and sweet, evocative final notes, “Sweet Crazy Song” will have your heart joining in the symphony.
Vivian Lux has once and for all won me over to the rock star genre! I don’t know how it’s possible, but each new book is better than the last, and this book is a fantastic beginning to the Kings of Crown Creek series! Four small town brothers make it big in the music industry and then everything falls apart. Three brothers return home, but Jonah sets out to make it as a solo artist. After too much time away, the death of their beloved uncle and fellow musician, Gideon, brings Jonah back home. Not only does he have to deal with the sudden loss of an important role model and face the brothers he hasn’t spoken to in over two years, his sister’s best friend, Ruby, gets in his face and won’t cut him any slack. That’s the part he likes, though, because somehow just being around Ruby breathes new life into him and he’s finally starting to feel again through the numbness his life had become.
Take a deep breath, roll up your sleeves and grab the Kleenex box as you dig into this one. I don’t even know where to start because there were so many things in this book that resonated with me. The plot was great, with some surprising curves thrown in, and Jonah and Ruby were amazing and amazing together. The sense of family was really special and so on target with the relationships and interactions between the siblings. And I don’t know what funerals, wakes and memorials are like for everyone, but the memorial for Gideon at the end of the book took me right back to times with my family after a couple of my family members passed away. Yes, there was sadness but there was much more fond remembrance, tribute, celebration of life and making memories that I still hold dear years later.
As I’ve come to expect from this author, she paints a picture of a fictional world that begs the reader to jump in feet first and become a part of the landscape. She creates characters that are realistic, larger than life, loveable and just enough flawed. Of course there’s a character who’s more damaged than the rest and badly in need of redemption, Jonah, in this instance, and Ms. Lux manages to redeem him in a beautiful, spectacular way. Then she infuses the story with stunning word pictures, a little humor, a little heat, and a ton of heart, so before you know it, you’ve consumed the book and are left just a little stunned that it’s over and dying for another fix of the characters. This book will own your heart and seep into your soul, so hit that 1-Click and start reading immediately!
This was a really good read. I thought that the characters were developed nicely and the writing flowed well. Jonah and Ruby are great together, and their chemistry was hot. Even though it was a sad occasion that brought them together, they were able to make something good of it. I was glad that Ruby could help Jonah see that all his decisions don’t just affect him, but other people as well. I loved that Jonah was able to make amends with his family. While Jonah and Ruby get their HEA, there is somewhat of a cliff hanger ending. It leads into the next story. I didn’t mind it, because Jonah and Ruby’s story was complete. I can’t wait to find out what happens with Gabe!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book.
Wow what a amazing book book that is written steam will. This book is written beautiful that you feel that you are right in the book. The book will grab you from the first words tell the end.
I liked how sweet they were together. Though this story ends on a cliffhanger. The couples story ended on a happy note.
I enjoyed the book but really dislike endings that seem incomplete. Please just write an ending, don’t try to sell me on the next book!
Book one of the Kings of Crown Creek series. Told in dual POV with HEA. Each book in the series is about a different King brother. We meet the whole King family in this book when the oldest brother Jonah returns back to his small hometown for his uncle’s funeral. Jonah has been on the road for the last 12 years, the first 10 with his brothers band and the last 2 on his solo career. Ruby the sweet kindergarten teacher has been best friends with Jonah’s sister sense their elementary school days. I liked how Ruby helped Jonah to see how his making decisions for others is not in their best interests, and that lead to Jonah being less selfish. I wish there was more time spent between just Ruby and Jonah to lead up to their HEA. The epilogue sets up the next book in the series.
I couldn’t give it five star because I hate cliffhangers but that’s just me
So many typos it made reading twice as long as it should have to interpret the context.
Story wise it is good. It just needs to be proofread for the typo errors.
The story was fine, but this book really needs some proofreading and correction!!
This is the first book in the Kings brothers series. I think that this is going to be so a unforgettable journey , I am so excited for the next book. This is Jonah’s story is the the oldest brother and became a solo artist after his brothers left their band. Jonah lives for the spotlight and disregards anything that is not about music, he has a sweet heart, He just doesn’t realize that he is hurting and making decisions for everyone, especially his brothers.Jonah comes back home for the first time in two years due to his Uncle’s death, and I feel like he sees life differently he wants to reconnect with his brothers and sister. Ruby sweet, sweet Ruby, is a kindergarten teacher (perfect fit) Claire(King bros little sister) is her best friend since childhood she knows all about arrogant Jonah and is pissed when he shows up late to his Uncle’s Gids funeral, she has a very close relationship with Gid and lets Jonah have it. After Ruby barrels into his life Jonah can’t seem to shake her and doesn’t want to.
I gave this four stars just because it started out so slow, about 40% it picked up and flew by so quickly, then it was over, and I over here needing MORE. I loved the whole King family dynamic and was so glad to see the brothers patch stuff up as much as possible, Ruby I loved her sweetest character . So Ready for next brother.
When a second look provides clarity. When a kiss opens doors. When grief opens the heart. When the arms you least suspected become the ones you can’t live without. Jonah and Ruby are devastated by the death of a loved one and while they don’t seek one another out, fate has a way of bringing them into their lives a way neither expected. But without the courage to keep each other close and to change dreams of the future and what success looks like, they could lose the very thing that will heal them and make them fly.
I actually quite liked these characters. They were flawed and didn’t give either of one another any quarter when it came to fear and responsibility. Together they brought one another solace, healing, passion, and love. It breathed life into Jonah’s creativity and gave Ruby the companionship she never really had despite her close relationship with her girlfriends. Each of them possessed the something the other person needed.
Ruby was defensive at times but what came out of her mouth directed to Jonah was spot-on. It gave him the fuel and fodder for making good, real change. The kind that fundamentally changes a person and their relationships. Because of her he could heal the rifts between him and his siblings. It also brought him peace. Something he wasn’t sure he’d ever really feel again.
Jonah was damaged and childish without a rudder in the storm that was of his own making. Feeling lost and abandoned he didn’t know where to turn. And then he ran right into the little spitfire that was Ruby. With her compassion, empathy, and kick in the butt, he could finally breathe, grow.
I enjoyed the ride but could have used more of the foundation aspects of relationship-building instead of relying on bickering, passion, and a snowstorm to bind them together. They weren’t really friends as children so there wasn’t that to bolster their romance either. Despite that, tenderness, grief, togetherness, healing, redemption, and love; this story had all of that and more.
This brand new series was absolutely amazing, brilliant, wonderful and so full of emotion that you can’t help but love it. They way you gave these characters such life and love had me melting from the very beginning. I can’t wait to see what book 2 is about. If b I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would but since the highest I can go is 5 that’s what I’m giving it. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy
I really enjoyed this book. What happens when a man who has only know the stage since he was a child do when his closest family member and mentor passes away. He has to go home and face some really hard truths.
While I really liked Jonah and Ruby, I will get to them in a second. The thing first and foremost that I loved about this book was the family aspect. If you read the prequel to this book, you know the four brothers had a falling out. The book starts up years later and from the very beginning you see that the hurt is still there. A family crisis brings Jonah home and forces him and his brothers to start to talk and deal with what has happened to them. I loved that this was a focus of this book. I think as the brothers dealt with this, it was the tool that helped Jonah grow to become the man we know he can be.
I really liked the character of Ruby!! I liked her with Jonah and I also just really liked her as a woman. In so many books I have read, the female needs to be really sassy and strong to the point of being almost bitchy or she is so caring and warm that she is almost a doormat. Mrs. Lux did a wonderful job with Ruby and wrote her as a mixture of both. She has the biggest and warmest heart but she isn’t afraid to stand up for herself of call someone out if need be.
I would highly recommend this series!!
Sweet Crazy Song is the first book in the Kings of Crown Creek series. I enjoyed this well written book and loved the storyline and characters. Packed with emotional turmoil, grief, regret and family drama this book really grabs your interest and engages your emotions. Ruby and Jonah have great chemistry and I love them together. A wonderful romance and a perfect start to this new series. I look forward to returning to Crown Creek soon. I’m voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book.
