An all new second chance love story by the New York Times Bestselling author of the Driven series. It all started with the invitation. To my ex-fiance’s new wedding. I should have ignored it. Thrown it away. Set it afire. But I didn’t. I replied. With a plus one. And then my assistant accidentally mailed it.Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But … it.
Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye.
When he showed up out of the blue ten years later, I should have known to steer clear of him. I should have rejected his offer to take me to my ex’s wedding. I should have never let him kiss me.
But I didn’t.
And now we’re left wondering if the pieces of the life we once shared still fit together somehow. First loves are hard to forget. The question is, do we want to forget? Or do we risk the chance and see what happens next?

“The way I see it, sometimes things happen in life and love’s put on hold. But if someone’s your soulmate, nothing is going to stop you from together in the end.”
As daunting it is for an author to branch into something new, it is equally scary for the reader to see the author they love to venture into completely new territory and wait on pins and needles to see the end result.
It is no secret that K. Bromberg is very well known for her Driven Series, which in my opinion, are fantastic! So, when she announced that she was writing a new book that was in no way related to the beloved series, I was intrigued. I couldn’t wait to find out how the standalone second chance romance would turn out. And after finishing Sweet Cheeks I can wholeheartedly and without a doubt claim that Kristy did a PHENOMENAL job with this book.
I am a sucker for second chance romance. I love the whole concept of it; two people who were separated due to some circumstance and are reunited after so many years. I love the hesitancy mixed with familiarity, the anger mixed with longing and immensely enjoy how they try to find their footing around one another and learn everything about each other all over again. Argh! Sweet Cheeks was no exceptions. I had these tingly feelings all over my arms and just waiting with bated breath anticipating for everything to unfold. From the moment Hayes and Saylor came face to face once again, I. JUST. COULDN’T. WAIT.
“He became my first crush.”
“Then later my first love.”
“And later again my first heartbreak.”
It was all there. The friendship, the love, the joy, the indecision, the anger, the heartbreak, the memories, all of it just came flooding back and OMG! I just couldn’t contain my self!
I thoroughly enjoyed every minute reading this book. This book has all the qualities to become an instant favourite with the readers! It’s a mix of all the things I love reading in a book. Love and heartbreak, hope and confusion, swoon and angst and huge smiling moments. I wanted the book to end but at the same time, I didn’t want it to end because it evoked this giddiness in me that I didn’t want to part with. If I had to pick my favourite part from this book, it would, hands down, be the memories of young Saylor and Hayes and how their friendship turned into the one of the sweetest first kiss and amazing romance. From the very first meeting to the first kiss in the treehouse; from a beautiful romance to the one most devastating heartbreak a person can through; from meeting each other after 10 years to the end and everything in the middle, Bromberg presented everything that I absolutely LOVE in a romance in Sweet Cheeks.
Sweet Cheeks, simply put was AMAZING. And the Epilogue? PERFECT!
5 Stars!
Sweet Cheeks is a second chance romance with childhood friends turn lovers. A standalone, dual POV which is my favourite, and a sweet HEA with a sexy alpha male hero & a sweet & sassy bubbly heroine. This novel spans between many years and goes back between the past and present smoothly. A sweet & fun entertaining listen.
Narrators Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are a perfect dual and nailed it. These two together bring a star studded performance to a modern day fairytale.
I had so much fun with Saylor and Hayes!
K. Bromberg always hits the nail on the head!
I’ve enjoyed this book tremendously!
I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, I’ve screamed, I’ve felt IT ALL reading it.
The characters are amazing. Saylor is a strong, driven and self-assured woman, which is definitely one the best aspects of the book, and Hayes is the definition of a perfect man.
This book is a MUST read, and reached the top of my favorite books ever!
How do you get over your first love walking away… when he becomes a Hollywood A-Lister and is everywhere? You don’t. Meet Saylor, cupcake maker, wedding crasher and apparently ‘homewrecker.’ Her and Hayes were high school sweethearts until her left her without a goodbye. Fast forward ten years and they both discover that what they had all those years ago, is still there, though the road to get there was a rocky one. There are laughs, tears, anger, regret, heartache, both for the characters and the readers. Both are strong characters, though she may be a little stronger as she has gone through (and continue to goes through) a lot more than him. Both are good people, and while he may have left her all those years ago, he had his reasons, and never meant to hurt her or be cruel. He may be the one in the wrong, he does more than enough to make things right. For the most part, the book is fairly light-hearted, but there is that heavier feel underlying it all. There is a scene or two that will require tissues. It’s well written. Story flows smoothly. There is some sexual content. It alternates between POVs.
It was fantastic.
I loved this story and these characters.
The narrators were amazing.
I recommend this book and this author.
I listened to the audio version of this book. The narration was great. I think I would have enjoyed it even more of Sebastian York had been reading ALL of the male dialogue, and Andi Arndt had been reading ALL of the female dialogue.
A few times I was startled when at the end of Saylor’s chapter Hayes had been speaking. Then Hayes chapter would have Hayes’ dialogue at the beginning, but there was a deep male voice being Hayes.
The storyline was good. I think I’m a bit more vindictive as I would have insisted Jenna’s performance be done in front of the press. I did wish there had been more of Hayes and Saylor communicating, and less of their internal dialogue.
The whole situation with Saylor’s ex and his new bride was surreal. Who would step into someone’s shoes like that? Was she that desperate?
Hayes would have had to do more explaining about both 10 years ago and the situation with Jenna before I would have gone anywhere with him.
This was a sweet, steamy second chance romance with a really entertaining last 1/3rd of the book that leads to an HEA. So glad it was part of Audible Escapes catalogue.
Hayes and Saylor’s second chance love story gave me all the feels. Friends, first love, heartbreak, and a roller coaster of emotions after that. Insert some Hollywood drama and some scorned exes and know we have a scandalous party. Their social media banter had me laughing out loud. An entertaining read! #grudgecupckes
Another great read written by K Bromberg.
What a fantastic second chance romance!
Cute childhood sweetheart story with grownup sizzle & wit. Love how he came back to town to help her out of a situation and they found their way back to each other. Creative, swoony happy ending and delicious narration on the audiobook.
Sweet book about old love rekindled, with a bit of another favorite trope: famous guy/regular girl falling in love.
This author is one of my go-to-go authors and one of my one-clicks every time she has a new book out. I was looking forward to this one and it didn’t dissapoint. I enjoyed reading this romantic story that will leave you with fluttering butterflies 🙂
I really liked the chemistry between Hayes and Saylor in this second chance romance.
When Saylor finally decides to break up with her fiancé after a 6 year relationship, her old flame and now Hollywood star Hayes turns back up into town. After all these years, sparks still fly between them and Hayes is in town to help Saylor with the current state of her bakery shop. But Hayes broke Saylor’s heart so many years ago that she won’t risk her heart again… or will she?…
After all is said and done, the chemistry between them is still strong but will they get a HEA?…
*Love doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to be true…*
Sweetcheeks by K Bromberg was a really enjoyable book. Most sexy romances showcase one or both of the love interests to be damaged in some way. It was refreshing that, for a change, this wasn’t the case. First loves, Saylor and Hayes, are brought together through an impending wedding. These two people are both endearing and my heart breaks for both of them as years of misunderstandings and sacrifice keep them apart. The banter between the two of them was fun and the love scenes steamy hot. This was a true feel-good story.
Another masterpiece! I swear every book this author writes is my new favorite. I loved this audio book so much. Andi Arndt & Sebastian York were the perfect representations of these characters. This story of childhood sweethearts getting a second chance had me swooning so hard. I loved how strong Saylor was. She did something very brave. She put her happiness first. She suffered the consequences from not being the woman others wanted her to be but inside wasn’t even close to. But that decision led her to her own true happiness. She never thought it would be from the man who broke her heart to pieces years before. Hayes is the perfect heart throb celebrity. But we know him as the perfect man for Saylor. I loved that over the years they never forgot each other. Their love is so strong and real. And I loved them standing up to those in the way of their happiness, besides themselves. This is a must read romance. I wish it was real. I want some grudge cupcakes!
This book lives up to it’s name and gives us that sweet second chance at love. Saylor is building her bakery business after leaving her fiance just months ago. He has moved on and sends her an invitation to what appears to be the wedding she planned with just a change of bride and date. When the RSVP gets accidentally mailed back with Saylor and her plus one planning to attend, her brother steps in to help find her a date. Hayes was her first love and now he is back.
I loved Saylor and Hayes just wish that she would have let him explain his walking away so she could have been happy sooner. You can’t help but love Hayes. We all want our own sexy actor to come back into our lives. I fell in love with K. Bromberg’s work when I read Driven and am working my way through the rest of her books. This standalone is very different but so worth the read!
Sweet Cheeks is a standalone, and an enjoyable one at that! A story of a second chance romance between 2 soul mates, a gorgeous movie star, a romantic island getaway, steamy sex and a lot of cupcake frosting…..I mean what’s not to love?
Saylor is our Heroine, a 27 year old ordinary girl that has recently broke off her engagement and left a six year relationship with a pompus country club guy (Mitch) that is part of one of ‘those’ families. Mitch put her down, slated her dream of owning a cupcake shop and there was just no spark between them. Saylor still has feelings of anger and loss towards her childhood sweetheart Hayes Whitley, back then her brothers best friend and her first crush, kiss, love and now he is an Oscar winning Hollywood A Lister actor.
Hayes Whitley is our Hero, at 29 he is living his dream, Hollywood royalty, acting is his passion, he is gorgeous, can have any woman he wants, a guy with morals a good heart and when his childhood best friend calls to cash in his IOU, he returns to his home town to help his friend in need for the one girl he loved and lost, knowing he broke her heart and now wants her forgiveness.
Sweet cheeks was a humorous second chance romance story that is light hearted with a good mix of hot sex scenes thrown in, another great Kristy book in my eyes!

Paulette Review
I am not a huge fan of contemporary romance books. Every once in a while I find one that I truly enjoy. I can without a doubt say that I enjoyed this book.
This may have not been the best romance book I have read, it definitely was really good. It was a bit long winded for me. I do feel like everything that was accomplished in this book could have been done had it been half the length. There were a few parts I found myself skimming because they weren’t really beneficial to the story itself.
I can’t deny that this author is exceptional in storytelling. I had read one of her books years ago, and I wasn’t a huge fan of it. When I picked this one up, I made it a point to keep an open mind. I am glad I did.
When it comes to romance books, second chance ones seem to be my thing. I am a sucker for rekindling love in stories. This one was one I couldn’t wait for that happily ever after. I enjoyed the ups and downs these characters went through. The determination they were given to make what they want work.
Overall, I really did enjoy this second chance romance. If you’re looking for well written romance that will leave you smiling by the end, this is definitely a book for you.
This was my first book by K. Bromberg and I really enjoyed it. Like the title it is sweet but also so sexy and steamy. Great story line as well, I didn’t want to put it down. I will certainly be reading more of her books.
Absolutely LOVED this book by K. Bromberg. Her Driven series had me wanting to try other books by her and I am so glad I did!!! I love this book!
