Entertaining and interesting characters in a small town setting. Fun read to follow the characters through their journey to love and romance. Good read.

Having read other books of this Author I was surprised I couldn’t really connect quickly or much with the characters, I mean I liked them but they didn’t draw me in and I also kept thinking if everyone knows of Ethan’s Dad why don’t they know Ethan as he grew up in town too? This is a good book for a Sunday afternoon and I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see how it goes as I believe it will grab me more.

All small towns have their own peculiarities and personalities and Susan Warner has portrayed these in the town of Sweet Blooms. When the mayor’s daughter and the son of a man from the wrong side or the outskirts of town get together, no one really notices that the daughter is now an attorney doing good things for the city or that the son is now wealthy and independent. It is interesting to see how the town, the two of them and their relationship with their parents evolve. This was a fun story to read.
I enjoyed these characters and the elements of small town and “class status.” I also enjoyed the familial emphasis and getting along while also being your own person. There was a lot of growth in this book and I really like reading it.

A small town romance about two people trying to find themselves beyond what people believe they are.
Lydia Mason is the mayors daughter and has always been known as just that. Making friends is difficult as they either like or hate the idea of her being related to the mayor.
Ethan Young is known as an outskirter, he was born on the outskirts of the town. Nobody wants to befriend the “poor” kid and nobody believes he will amount to anything beyond where he is.
This book was difficult for me to follow along with. I’m not sure if I can’t just go with the author’s writing “flow” but I just feel like there is so much missing and so many jumps that it’s difficult to keep up with.
The ending of this book is abrupt and comes out of nowhere. I don’t understand how Lydia can go from trying to convince herself that Ethan being with another woman who is also considered an outskirter but someone his father would like, but then turn around when he shows up at her house and is determined to make their relationship work.
