I just adored the characters. Kay was sassy, sarcastic, quirky…my spirit character. It was so easy to relate to her. Sarcasm is my first language and if she were real, I know she and I would totally be besties.
Nico was sexy and all alpha. The typical cocky rockstar, but deep down he was a hopeless romantic – he was just saving for his soulmate and the instant he laid eyes on Kat he knew she was it. And after getting a dose of her attitude and sass, it was solidified.
With a touch of suspense and loads of sexual chemistry, Sweet as Sin was an incredible read.
I loved this book and the whole series. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. There is humor mixed on with some tearjerking moments. The characters are relatable. I couldnt put the books down once i staryed reading them. I would recommend all of this author’s books.
A sweetly sinful winner
I admit to having a soft spot for rock stars, troubled bad boys, and overprotective alpha types, and Nico is all of that. Kat was great, too; she’s feisty, independent and headstrong, and I loved how she was willing to stand up to Nico from the very beginning. She had her own troubled past, and she and Nico together were explosive.
The plot was interesting with twists I didn’t see coming; though the story was a little slow at times, the suspense layered in as secrets slowly get revealed and Kat and Nico’s (occasionally rocky) relationship develops. The story is filled with great secondary characters as well (Kenji!) and I hope we get to see a lot more from all of them in the following books.
I’ve read a few books by this author by now, and I’ve enjoyed every one; this was no exception. A nice mix of heat and humor, suspense and angst, all make this a sweetly sinful winner for me. 4.5 stars
Wow at times this was a hard read because the emotions were flying all over the place. Awesome book and off I go to read part 2 😀
“Never gonna forget a single day, baby. Good and Bad, they all add up to the story of us. I’m gonna take everyone & cherish it, come what may.”
Sweet As Sin had it all, romance, steamy sexy scenes, drama, and suspense. I love anything that has to do with rockstar romance (we all know this is my favorite genre) but when you bring in a stalker plot. . . WATCH OUT! J T Geissinger brought these two characters to life in more ways than one with a heck of a story. Nico and Kay had tons of sexual chemistry from the moment they met and this is another reason it was my kinda book.
Sweet as Sin is book one in the Bad Habit series by J.T. Geissinger. I’ve read a bunch of J.T.’s books but there are a few in her back list I haven’t had time for, this series being one of them. This is an insta-lust/love, rock star romance that is full of sexy times, swoony times, and lots of twists and turns.
Kat Reid is twenty five years old and is a make up artist in Los Angeles. She’s good at it and has a solid clientele. On this day, she’s scheduled to make up the love interest in a rock video for the group, Bad Habit. Kat doesn’t care for rock stars or A-listers of any sort. But when the lead singer of Bad Habit, Nico Nyx walks in, and their eyes meet, everything fades away. Neither can look away. But, a bad boy rock star is not something Kat needs in her life. Unfortunately, the female lead for the video has come to the set intoxicated, and is currently passed out. Take a wild guess who Nico wants to replace her for the love interest in the video?!
Nico Nyx is lead singer for Bad Habit. He’s used to the life in the public eye. He’s used to keeping his private life hidden. Because Nico has secrets, lots of secrets that have shaped him into the man he is. Nico has never really been in a relationship and was completely unprepared for the jolt he felt when he looked at Kat for the first time. He knew right then and there that she was going to be in his life. He knew she felt the same electricity he did. He just had to convince her that she needed to explore it.
These two had so many hurdles they had to overcome. First of all are the secrets. Nico has trouble processing his intense feelings for Kat. He is possessive, bossy and there are some serious anger issues. While Kat has no problem putting Nico in his place, I didn’t expect the dark places this book would go. I didn’t expect the suspenseful aspect to this. I definitely didn’t expect that there would be no way I could put it down until I stayed up way past my bed time to finish it last night!
I obviously really enjoyed it but maybe things went a little too dark for me. There is a lot of push and pull between these two. The entire book is told from Kat’s POV. I admit there are times I really would have loved to get in Nico’s head. And while I adore a jealous/possessive hero, Nico might be the most intense I’ve read. Kat has two best friends that play a big part in this story, Chloe and Grace. Book two in this series, Make Me Sin, is Chloe and Nico’s fellow band mate, A.J.’s book!
“When you look at me, I feel like I could fly.”
I REALLY liked this rock star romance. Our hero was just… SWOON! Just perfect how they fell in love at first sight and yet they had tons of drama. The plot twists were crazy, too. Really, really liked this one.
My number one favorite thing in a book is a hero who falls hard for the heroine. He sees her and he knows she is different and will pursue her. This does not mean there is no relationship angst, cause let me tell you, this has a lot of relationship angst in this. I’m not usually a big fan of that, but Nico trumped it all. The biggest thing was I never doubted his feelings for Kat, which is why I could handle so much of the roller coaster. While the hero is usually all I care about, I can say that I also liked Kat. She was pretty level headed and I think she reacted reasonable to everything that was thrown at her. This one will go into my top 5 favorite rock star romances.
I liked the whole series. I’d buy them again. They do make more sense if you read them in order.
The smart mouthed characters were fun and entertaining to read. The story had it all sweet romance, twists and turns and smoking hot love scenes.
I didn’t have the super obsessive need to finish this book as quickly as possible as I did with the Burn for You Series, but I still really enjoyed it and look forward to reading Chloe’s and Grace’s story.

When searching for my next book to read, I came across this story ‘Sweet as sin’, a story about a rock star. This writer wasn’t totally new to me, I had already read the first 2 books of her ‘Slow burn’ series and I loved those. So I decided to read ‘Sweet as sin’ and I’m so happy that I did because it was just what I was searching for and more!
So where do I start? There was so much going on in this story! Do I start with Kat, who was this sassy, curvy, margarita-addicted woman or do I start with Nico, our hot, dominant, know-what-he-wants rock star?! Or do I say something about the story? That kept me surprising with the many twist and turns and secrets in it. To me, ‘Sweet as sin’ felt a bit like a rollercoaster. It had some funny scenes in it, some very emotional scenes in it (that will not be for everyone, a few triggers even) and it had steamy scenes in it. To be honest, it’s hard to describe this story because it had a bit of everything in it. In this story we get Kat’s POV on things.
One of the things that I loved about Nix’s character was that from the moment he laid eyes on Kat, he was focused on her. He knew what he wanted and he didn’t change his mind. He was honest with his feelings (in his own way) and he wanted her to be honest about her feelings too. I really loved the interaction between them and the chemistry between them was hot.
The second characters, especially Kat’s girlfriends Grace and Chloe made this story funny. The three of them were there for each other, not matter what. And in the background you could already feel something developing between Chloe and Nix’s band mate A.J. It made me very curious for the next story in the series.
‘Sweet as sin’ is a story isn’t for everyone but I LOVED every second of it. I’m already looking forward to reading the next book of this series.
Loved this book. Lot of twist and turns. In the end, love wins.
Such an awesome story, I really enjoyed it from beginning to end. It was equally happy and frustrating, with twists & turns. It’s a story that you never think could happen and seems like a fairytale. Nico is not your typical musician and Kat is an amazing make up artist. She happens to be in the right place at the right time and things just fall into place.
Sometimes you are so confused with what is going on but that is just a part of the charm of the story, it keeps you on your toes. Nico is infuriating, strong, passionate and sweet as sin. They both have their history and they have to work through their pasts to hopefully have a future. You don’t expect what happens in the story but it keeps your interest.
Nico’s past catches up to him but will they have enough love to keep it together and make a future. Find out its totally worth it!
There are more books in the series but it can be read as a standalone. A fun, entertaining and easy read.
