A charming, short novella in the Innkeeper Chronicles, from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Ilona Andrews. Thank you for joining us at Gertrude Hunt, the nicest Bed and Breakfast in Red Deer, Texas, during the Treaty Stay. As you know, we are honor-bound to accept all guests during this oldest of innkeeper holidays and we are expecting a dangerous guest. Or several. But have no fear. Your … have no fear. Your safety and comfort is our first priority. The inn and your hosts, Dina Demille and Sean Evans, will defend you at all costs. [But we hope we don’t have to.]
Every winter, Innkeepers look forward to celebrating their own special holiday, which commemorates the ancient treaty that united the very first Inns and established the rules that protect them, their intergalactic guests, and the very unaware/oblivious people of [planet] Earth. By tradition, the Innkeepers welcomed three guests: a warrior, a sage, and a pilgrim, but during the holiday, Innkeepers must open their doors to anyone who seeks lodging. Anyone.
All Dina hopes is that the guests and conduct themselves in a polite manner. But what’s a holiday without at least one disaster?

Sweep with Me is a novella in the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews
This was a fun novella. The Andrews team packed, so much into this short story.
I loved seeing Diana and Sean again. Dina is upset, sad, and worried about something big, but the Inn is never quiet and some big things happened that take her mind off of all those worries. In the end Diana takes care of all her guests in true Innkeeper fashion and solidifies her standing with the Innkeeper Assembly.
Sweep with Me packs a punch. There is no shortage of creativity, action, emotions, and fun!
Rated: 4.5 Stars
A treat from my favourite authors!! I adored every minute of this glimpse into Dina’s and Sean’s life at Gertrude Hunt.
Ilona Andrews is one of my insta-buy authors, and as usual, they’ve delivered. Sean and Dina are great fun to read about, and I love how he fits into her life at the inn. This is a novella, but there’s so much here! Loved it. And now I want more.
I love this series. It’s action-packed, great characters, a nice love interest and interesting aliens. I highly recommend this book.
I’ve been LOVING this series, but I was a bit behind with how busy my writing schedule has been recently. However, I kept seeing this book on the also boughts for The Cursed Key, which told me my readers are also loving this series. (I love to read what you guys are reading!)
Soooo… I caught myself up and preordered this bad boy! I can’t wait to see what’s next for Dina DeMille in this clever series with aliens, dragons, and more…and of course, a delicious romantic subplot, which I’m a huge sucker for! (If you haven’t started this series yet, you should start now! There’s still time to catch up on the series before this releases in July!)
Ilona Andrews is making a Clean Sweep in this series. This is book 4.5 in the series. Clean Sweep is book 1 (the book to start with.)
I love it,love the characters, the settings, the whole series.!
When a warrior settles down, normally it is so that he can experience some peace. For Sean Evans, it appears that ‘peace’ is a somewhat fluid term for an Innkeeper. So much for a quiet first case as an official Innkeeper! So much to laugh and shake my head over!
This one was a great novella in the Innkeeper series. I love the characters at Gertrude Hunt.
I’m loving this series. The Innkeeper Chronicles is original and an all-round great read!
Every winter Innkeepers celebrate their own holiday, Treaty Stay, which honors the ancient treaty that united the inns and established the rules to protect them, their guests, and Earth. Dina has her hands full this holiday though with dangerous guests.
This novella takes place shortly after the third book, One Fell Sweep. I am so glad we get more of Dina and Sean again!. Dina is struggling to deal with the trauma of the seeding dying and it is affecting her ability to connect with Gertrude Hunt. She has to juggle dangerous guests, the holiday, and learn to cope with that trauma. I love how the guests helped her in small ways to get back to normal. They may be guests, some permanent, but they have become Dina’s new family.
I love that we get Dina and Sean learning to work together to run the inn and take care of the guest. They both have different approaches but they work well together. Their different strengths make them a great team and they will be prepared for almost anything.
I loved the new aliens in this one. The Drífan were fascinating and very deadly, the koo-ko were hilariously smart chickens, and the Medamoth sounded fascinating and I wish we had learned more about them. But my favorite part was Orro! He has been my favorite since he was introduced and I love him. He needs his own cooking show!
I love this world and the unique aliens within it. I really hope we get another book because I can’t get enough of this story.
Anything & I mean ANYTHING by Ilona Andrews is a must read
Love the Innkeeper books!
Grabs you and keeps you turning pages. I love finding a series that already has several published so I can binge read and this fits the bill. I’ve just started the fourth on as many days.
Magical symbiotic Inn, all kinds of strange alien beings, strong heroine and hot heroes, action and suspense. This series has it all.
There’s not much more to say that I haven’t already said about this series. It’s engaging, and I love the characters (even if the world-building is a little haphazard at times). The only problem is that I’d love to read more installments, but there’s no more for now. 🙁
Audiobook review: A good Novella showing the life and times of an Earth innkeeper. The challenges and unique characters are likable and entertaining. The narrator did a good job!
A quick little read about Dina and Sean hosting guests at the inn for the first time as a couple. I love this series and really enjoy reading about all the bizarre and interesting guests that come through the inn.
I love the Innkeeper series! If you haven’t started the series yet, stop reading this, check out Clean Sweep. Thank me later.
It’s good, is all I’m saying.
I love this series. I love the mixture of scifi and fantasy all within the realm of our world. The characters are amazing. Dina and her sister, Maud are great women and I can’t wait to meet their brother. Highly recommend this series!
This novella did a wonderful job of tying up some of the emotions left over in One Fell Sweep while showing us a bit more of the day to day workings of the inn. I absolutely love Sean and how much of a smart a$$ he is (and Orro definitely needs that cape). Dina and Sean are perfection together. We also get to meet another powerful female character who will not be dismissed and hopefully we’ll see more of her in the future. One last thing: space chickens (what more can you say about homicidal space chicken philosophers?). Honestly the space chickens are possibly on par with the ferret heist from White Hot!
