Ellie Pagan has a list of reasons to stay away from Ford Landry. It’s a mile long and was so much easier to stick to when he was a world away. Now that he’s standing in front of her—body hard and chiseled from a stint in the military, suit cut to perfection, and a smirk she could never resist—remembering all the reasons why just got a whole lot harder. Ford gets Ellie isn’t his biggest fan. He … his biggest fan. He just doesn’t care.
Standing in front of him, giving him hell, she’s even prettier than he remembered. All he can think about is how she felt in his arms, the taste of her kiss, the sound of her giggle in the middle of the night. He may not know how to win her back, but he does know this: he may have let her go once, but that’s one mistake he won’t make again.
SWEAR is a heartfelt and steamy standalone romance.

Adriana has such a way with words that I was hooked from the first page. Ford Landry is home from the service and has established a security business with his brother Graham. Graham’s woman, Mallory has been setting him up on blind dates, a deal they made for use of her yoga room, but Ford never got over Ellie, the one true love of his life that he left behind. Every date is a bust until Graham sends him to bid on a security contract at Halcyon. He walks in and sees the one that got away, the only woman he ever loved and lost. Ellie is not happy to see him, but Ford is determined to do whatever it takes to win her back.
This is the fourth book in the Landry Series and every book is like coming home again. Each book can be read as a standalone, but once you read one, you will be hooked like so many other readers. The banter between the brother’s is hilarious and the love they have for their women is unprecedented. This is one series that I will read over and over again. If you have not read any of Adriana Locke’s books, you are truly missing out on some very wonderful stories. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
I feel like we have been waiting forever to hear the story of Ford and it was damn well worth the wait. SWEAR is full of happiness, sadness, self-doubt, family, love and by God, ALL of Landry boys and a TON of surprises you never saw coming!!
All of Landry family books (Sway, Swing, Switch) have eluded to the mysterious man that is Ford, owner of Landry Security. You can tell he is utterly heartbroken and in each of the other books, you start to see pieces of what makes him tick and what an amazing man he is.
Ellie returns to Savannah to follow her dreams and runs into the love of her life, Ford. Ellie and Ford were in love ten years ago and due to unfortunate circumstances and a boy who was just too young to deal with life, Ford left Ellie never to be heard from again. Now, ten years later, he is standing in her small boutique, Halycon, not the boy who shattered her heart but a man (and a sexy, gorgeous one at that).
“It’s done. I loved him. I needed him. He left me. Done.”
Ford knows Ellie is the one. She always has been the one but Ford was just too immature when they were together to know exactly what he wanted from her or from their relationship. Seeing Ellie again, Ford vows not to let her get away again. He knows she is the one, 100% but Ellie knows they are both at different points in their lives and just doesn’t see a forever with Ford. Good thing Ford is a stubborn man!
“Now, I realize she’s my past. And my future. There’s no other way around it.”
If you’ve read the other three books in the series, you know these boys have some serious sexy times…downright dirty and usually with some sort of food. Hell, Ford doesn’t disappoint, and the things he does with candy? Well, the man melts in your mouth, not in your hand
I love the relationship that Ellie has with everyone in this book. From Ford, to her friends to her father, she just seems like one of those people who turns into a lifelong friend. Ellie’s relationship with her dad made me smile and cry at the same time, if that’s even possible. I love how she was very upfront with Ford and blatantly told him what was going on in her mind. And that he totally did whatever he had to do to prove to her that he was not the boy who walked away all those years ago.
Will Ellie finally learn to trust Ford? Will Ford get his happily ever after?
Honestly, I still need to find a way to be a part of the Landry family. They are everything a family should be. Barrett, Allison, Huxley, Lincoln, Danielle, Graham, Mallory, Sienna and Cam are all a frequent part of this book and I enjoyed every single minute of it. I love that the author puts them all in each other’s books so you get a sneak peek into their lives and what they are up to. Every time Adriana publishes a new Landry book, I’m like “yep, THIS one is the best one of the brothers”. Well, Barrett, Lincoln, and Graham, you have now officially been replaced with Ford Landry.
This is my favorite Landry book so far!!!!
This is a second chance romance story. Ford and Ellie haven’t seen each other in almost 10 years and when they come face to face again, the old feelings are still there. Ford will do everything in his power to make Ellie his again. This book was just amazing. The love, family, heartache and tears were perfectly placed in this story. Of course, you get a few surprising twists too. You can’t help but love Ford and root for him and Ellie to get their HEA.
I love Second Chance books and I love the Landry’s so of course, I loved Swear. This story has the same dynamic as the previous books in the series. That Landry bond is strong and I seriously love this family, Adriana develops her characters flawlessly. I feel more like I’m apart of the Landy family more and more with each book.
Ford Landry messed up. 10 years ago, he lost the one girl he has loved to the silly mistakes of his childhood. After learning who he is and growing within his time in the military, he realizes that no one quite meets his expectations in the romantic sense.
After 10 years, Ellie Pagan has basically mended her broken heart … by avoiding relationships all together. She has put her life back together after Ford Landry, and is taking strides to create her own future with her best friends.
Ford and Ellie are a sweet addition to the Landry family series. I swooned, I smiled, my heart melted, and I cried. Swear has the same light-hearted feel as the other Landry Family books, but the family dynamic is stronger in Swear than in any of the previous books up to this point. Locke writes this family well, and gives her readers the ability to imagine they’re simply a part of the Landry family, as well. I’ve really enjoyed watching these characters grow and mature, and I can’t wait for the Landry twins’ books.
These Landry brother’s *sigh* I can’t get enough of them!! I finished Swear in a couple of days and only put it down when I really had to!!
With each book in the series I fall in love a little bit more with each of them. Ford was no different. I loved how determined he was to win Ellie back and didn’t give up.
Ellie was adorable in how she tried so hard to resist him again, but it didn’t quite work that way.
Their love for each other is sweet and sexy. A beautiful story of second chances that you don’t want to end!
Thanks Adriana for yet another fabulous book! (less)
What I love most about this book is the updates given on the other Landrys. Lincoln proved in this book that her may always be my favorite, lol. As for Ford and Ellie they were too much of a rollercoaster for me to love them. I understand Ellie’s hesitation when it comes to Ford, once burned twice shy. However Ford never won me over from leaving Ellie when they were younger. I get why he left, but he could have kept in contact. I would still recommend it, but just know that Ford is not my favorite Landry.
Oh I don’t even know what to say about this book. It’s the best second chance romance I’ve ever read. It contains a sweet determined heroine who’s not afraid to get her hands dirty and a hero that is definitely all alpha male but with the most loving heart.
Ten years ago he enlisted and broke both their hearts but that didn’t mean the feelings between them diminished so what happens when a little family meddling brings them back together? I’m so in love with these characters, and not only Ford and Ellie, but the entire Landry clan. Part of what makes this series so great is revisiting the entire family and laughing at the banter between them and crying during their happy moments because you are happy for them.
Don’t hesitate! Read this book, you won’t regret it!!
Choosing a favorite Landry boy, or Landry significant other for that matter, is like trying to choose your favorite child. Or parent. All I can say is that I’m glad there’s only four of them, the world can’t handle more.
Ford Landry isn’t quite the same as his brothers. He’s not as cocky, though he has his moments. He’s not quite as strong willed, or quick tempered, or easily frustrated. He’s seriously just a nice guy, in love, trying to make up for past mistakes. It’s hard not to fall in love with how humble he is, accepting he makes mistakes and tries to make them better.
In true Adriana Locke form, this book has all the family banter and closeness we have come to love from the Landry family. The sexy times are steamy, as usual. There are feels. Always so many feels. (I really wish she would quit making my eyes leak on important days)
Ellie isn’t Ford Landry’s biggest fan. When he joined the military, she thought it would be easier to try and forget about the way he looked, the way he smelled, the way he felt against her. But now that he’s back from his time in the military, she can’t help but get those familiar butterflies when she’s around him.
Ford can’t ever forget the night he let Ellie go. But now that he’s back, he isn’t going to make that same mistake twice. He will get his girl back- but will she let him back in again? <3 An absolutely beautiful read.
So in love with these Landry brothers!!!
5 Oh You Smooth Talker Stars!!!
Ford Landry IS all that AND a bag of chips!!! He let Ellie go once before and he’s not going to make that same mistake again. She’s more beautiful than he remembers and she’s going to give him a run for his money. The fact that he walked away from her is still fresh in her mind even if ten years has gone by. She’s not going to succumb to his charms again…even if he’s persistent, charming, sexy and won’t go away!!
I loved everything about this fourth book in the Landry series and it’s become my favorite. Not only because Ms. Locke knows how to write an amazing story, but because it’s one of the best second chance romances I’ve ever read. I loved how Ford set about to get Ellie back and would stop at nothing to get his girl back. Add to that the heat that is generated between these two because let’s face it, she can’t resist a Landry and especially Ford Landry.
I’ll give her props though for trying. But his charm, sexiness, suave determination and his smoking hot body were just too much to ignore. This story kept me engaged from beginning to end. I laughed, I had to fan myself a few times, and I swooned all because of Ford and Ellie!
Ugh, you guys. This series is slaying me. Just when I think it can’t get better, it does. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t like second-chance romances. I don’t like friends to lovers. And then BAM! This book comes along and makes me like everything. This author!!
I truly can say I loved the love story in this book. I think one of the main reasons that this book worked for me, even with there being tropes that I don’t normally love, is because we really do get the love story. Ford and Ellie have a history; parts of which are great and parts that are not so great. They have to work through it. The author recognizes this, and even as Ellie and Ford are reconnecting, past resentments and feelings still linger. This is more from Ellie than Ford, but it makes sense. I think I appreciated the honesty of that. When you have a strong history with someone, you aren’t able to just let things go so easily.
Ford is probably one of my favorite characters. If you’ve read the other books in the Landry series, you’ve met Ford and we see glimpses of him and know that he’s seen a lot. Because of that, his personality is not as hesitant as that of his brothers. Ford is all in with Ellie. Again, I found myself enjoying this because with everything that Ford has experienced, this makes sense. Ford also has a unique relationship with his twin sisters, one which we don’t really experience in the other books. Now yes, some of this is a bit of foreshadowing since Sienna and Camilla get their own books later, but we get the depth of character from Ford in these interactions.
Adriana Locke is one of my all-time favorite authors. Her characters and writing always mange to pull at my soul, but never pull me so far down that I can’t get back up. If you love this author already, be prepared to keep on loving her. If you’re new to this author, its time to get on board.
*Reviewing for A Published Romance
OMG…..this book was phenomenal!! Adriana Locke did it again with the fourth installment of the Landry Family Series. I could not put it down once I started it……so amazing!
This book had such a different feel to it compared to the other Landry books. I laughed, cried…….ah, I just felt so many emotions reading this book. I really enjoyed seeing the interaction with Ford & Graham (who is still my favorite Landry brother)…..totally cracked me up! I also enjoyed seeing how the relationship with Ford & Mallory had developed from Switch as well. Those two definitely have a brother/sister relationship, as compared to the other brother’s spouses with Ford.
As for Ellie…….I absolutely loved her! You can tell right away when Ford walked in to her shop that first time, that she had never gotten over her feelings for him. Ellie & Ford had such a chemistry after all those years. And even though you knew they would most likely end up together, it was nice to see her make him work hard to get back I her good graces. It also broke my heart for her, knowing that her father was sick….yet didn’t want to tell her how bad it had gotten. And the fact that he passed away right after finding out he was going to be a grandfather – yep, totally cried when that happened. I also teared up when all the Landry boys were the pallbearers at his funeral. Love it how the Landry’s come together for each other – definitely what a family should be like.
Thanks again Adriana for creating such an amazing story! Can’t wait to see what is up with Camila in Swink!
*I volunteered to review a Copy of this book from the Author / Give Me Books Promotions*
Thank you so very much Ms.Locke and Give Me Books Promotions!! I am extremely honored and grateful!! 🙂
5 Ford Loving Stars!!
First off, let me start off by saying how stinking excited i was to see this beauty on my Kindle!! I totally did a happy dance and I am not embarrassed. Having read the whole series so far I couldn’t wait for Ford’s book!! I’ve been curious about him ever since he was first introduced and I am so glad he got his very own book. It did NOT disappoint!! This one might be my favorite of the series and that’s saying a lot because I love them all!! I enjoyed seeing some familiar faces especially some particular men. 😉
Swear is about Ford Landry and Ellie Pagan. Two people who share a complicated past brought together once more. Can they take a chance again? Or will it be too hard? Oh my sweet Ford!! I love him so so very much!! His pain along with Ellie’s broke my heart. I really liked Ellie as well. I wasn’t sure how their story would turn out which had me biting my bottom lip as my eyes never turned away from my kindle.
Ms.Locke sure knows how to write one hell of a novel!! This book had so much heart, swoon worthy / blush worthy moments, humor, and everything in between. It was realistic to the point I felt as if I was spying on real people which thrilled me to no end. I can’t get this story out of my head nor do I want it to. I am so excited for Swink!! 🙂
If you haven’t already One-Clicked, What exactly are you waiting for?!?! You CAN’T miss out on Swear or better yet Ford!! Trust me, you want to meet Ford. I swear he may be my new favorite Landry but I’ll never tell. 😉 If you haven’t started the Landry Family Series, what have you been doing with your life?! Change that right now and get these kindle melting brothers!! You can thank me later. 😉 I hope you love this one as much as I did my fellow book lovers!! 5 Stars all around, I’d give it a million more if I could!! 🙂
5 HOT FORD STARS!! I feel like the Landry’s are part of my family and we are catching up on a holiday with each story and Ford’s is no different. Adriana Locke has a way with her storytelling that you remember each character and you fall in love with them. Ford, what can I say another hot, sweet and fun Landry brother. Ellie a beautiful selfless woman that had a past with Ford pops back in his life. These two have some hurdles to work past and you will be pulling for them. Adriana Locke is one of my top authors and never disappoints, always five stars for me. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this this Book.
“Blind dates would work out so much better if you were actually blind. And deaf. And maybe a hundred miles away.”
Since the Landry series began I have fallen more and more in love with the whole family. But I have to say, I have never been more in love with the Landrys than I am RIGHT NOW. I liked Barrett, LOVED Lincoln, adored Graham, but I am head-over-heels for Ford. There’s something about seeing someone who is so serious give his all to his partner that made my heart explode.
Ford and Ellie have a history-a history they both thought was over, until a meddling Mallory decides to drudge up the past. The moment they enter the same space, it’s apparent that the past has followed them into the now. “Because this thing between us started a long time ago. We might’ve thought it was over …”A soft smile plays on his lips. “But it’s not. Have a good day, sweetheart.”
This story brought a lot of feeling along with it. The Landrys never fail to amaze me with their hilarity, their heart, and their shenanigans. I’ve been curious about Ford since I read Sway, but as I began this story I wasn’t sure if he was going to break through for me. But the great thing about Adriana Locke’s characters is their evolution-even in just one story. I saw Ford become a different person, all because he found his person.
“I can’t imagine doing anything and not telling her about it or taking her with me to do it. There’s nothing that could be as tempting as slipping into bed with her at the end of the day. And the thing is, Mom, I’ve always known that. I just didn’t know how to deal with it. Now, I know. And I’m not about to ever, ever give that up.“
The Landry Family, more specifically, those Landry Men. They make you laugh, cry, swoon, piss you off, and just totally melt you at the end of the day. I was hooked from the beginning with Barrett, and then Lincoln came along to add a lot of laughs to the mix. Next up was Graham; Oh be still my heart! Finally, we get to Ford. He brings the best out of all of them with some of his own swag to our hearts and minds.
Ford Landry is a military veteran who returns home and starts finally figuring out what he wants with his life. Starting a new business with his brother Graham, Ford seems settled in his life. Until he sees her again. Ellie: the love of his life that he thought was lost. Now that he’s found her again, he’s not letting go.
Ellie thought she was over Ford, but the minute she sees him, she knows that’s not true. There is just too much history between them, and as hard as she fights it, Ford’s love is something she hopes she can always count on.
Adriana Locke has given the Landry Family fans the book they wanted. It is possible that this is the reason that the story wasn’t all it could be. Although I loved the story, I was hoping for more conflict concerning Ford’s story rather than Ellie’s self-doubt. A large part of the story concerns Ellie and what she felt was Ford’s untrustworthiness because of something that happened long ago. While I understand that she was doubtful, she was also not very open to discuss it or even let Ford prove himself to her. I felt that some of her story was rehashed over and over again, and instead of really hashing it out with Ford, she lets the circumstances decide the outcome.
Ms. Locke has again given us a beautifully written storyline with characters we all love. She has given a look into future books with hints in this one. Overall, I adored the book and enjoyed being in Savannah and with the Landry’s again.
Oh Ford you swoony Landry you !
Read this book to find out if Ford gets his second chance romance with Ellie and can SWEAR to her that he’s not going to leave this time . When that second chance comes does Ellie have it in her power to go with her heart and not with what her head is saying ?
I love this family series and the banter between the brothers ! They are all NOT to be missed !
Looking forward to Swink ….
Another amazing book with all the feels. The words flow so smoothly that it was easy to get lost in Ford and Ellie’s story. Their heated exchanges and chemistry was so sexy hot and steamy. The antics of the brothers had me laughing out loud and I loved visiting the entire Landry family again. A definite must read!
