BARRETT LANDRY has it all.
Power, prestige, and plenty of women, the dapper politician’s life is pretty phenomenal. But in the midst of the biggest campaign of his life, he needs to focus. The last thing he can afford is a distraction.
ALISON BAKER is a work-in-progress.
As a single mother to HUXLEY, she’s rebuilding life on her terms. She’s focused on family, faith, and a future for her son … and a future for her son that can’t be taken away. Putting her child first means not being careless, no matter what.
A chance encounter forces Barrett and Alison to redefine what they really want out of life. But everything comes at a cost … and sometimes, even for love, it’s a price too steep to pay.
** Author’s note: Sway is a deliciously sexy, full length standalone novel. It packs a heavy dose of steam and has no cliffhanger. **

The Straight laced Barrett Landry just got brought to his knees by little Alison. This was a great first book to an all new series. The family dynamics of this family is amazing. Very well written.
I loved Barrett and Alison – great characters on there own and together, lots of chemistry and the grape scene? Oh my!!! Hot!!
Looking forward to reading about the other 3 Landry men and seeing what Adriana has in store for us!!
I liked this book. I thought it was very cute. It has dual POV which I love. It gives me insight into what both characters are thinking/feeling. Barrett was hot, but I think I like his brother more. (Thank God he gets his own book!) The overall flow was very good. I feel like it read like it could have been a movie (in a good way).
I have been unproductive all day, not that I’m complaining, because I had to finish this book! I’ve loved every minute of it and couldn’t wait to find out how it ended. Alison was strong and determined to do everything she could for her sweet boy. And Huxley made me tear up a few times, he was such a wonderful character. Barrett was absolutely everything, determined, sweet, and sexy as sin! I loved the entire family and will be waiting, maybe not so patiently, for the other books in this series.
Barrett is over of my favorite characters!! Great start to the series!!
There are no words to describe how amazing this book is. It’s sweet and whimsical and beautiful and absolutely amazing. Barrett and Alison have a connection, but it will take time and courage for both of them to realize it. I highly recommend this book! <3
Wasn’t sure about a political book at first but once I got into it was amazing great start to the series
5 Wild Card Stars!!!
This is a book I’ve been so looking forward to reading since I first was able to put it on my TBR list! The wait was SO WORTH it! Ms. Locke did not disappoint in setting the stage for this book and the entire Landry Family Series. This book focuses on Barrett Landry, the current Mayor of Savannah and Alison Baker, a single mother, with two jobs and putting herself through college trying to earn a journalism degree.
Watching the back and forth between these two was so enjoyable. I completely understood where Alison was coming from given her past and how it affected her and her son’s life and getting involved with a politician was so not what she was looking to do. On the other hand, Barrett had never felt like he does when he’s with Alison which involves all sorts of emotions he’d not experienced in the past. But being the politician he is, once he’s focused on something, he goes after what he wants; and he wants Alison.
I loved how bringing Alison into his life, made Barrett refocus on what’s important to him and what he wants. He’s lived his whole life doing and pleasing others because of his family name. Alison is a breath of fresh air and I adored how even though she was so attracted to him, she wasn’t willing to bend or compromise her thoughts and what she wants, especially when it comes to her son.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts and all I’ll say is I will NEVER eat another grape without thinking about this book!!!
Can these two find a happy medium where they can find a life with each other? Will Barrett bend on some issues to win the election or will he listen to his heart and gut about what he thinks is right? What happens if Barrett’s family, specifically his father, doesn’t agree with his choices? You’ll get all these answers and so much more when you read this wonderfully written book.
I really loved this book.
Let me start by saying I adore Adriana to pieces, so honestly, she could write about rice and I would think it was fantastic.
I loved Barrett and Ali. I thought it was awesome to see Ali standing her ground. I really admired that she truly put her son first, and although the story is about Ali and Barrett, Huxley is an important part of the story.
Another aspect that I enjoyed was Barrett’s family, especially his brothers. I appreciated that they took Barrett seriously, in regards to Ali and his political aspirations. It wasn’t one of those immature situations where everyone doubts Barrett. They recognize that what he has with Ali is special.
I am beyond ready for Linc’s book!
This was my first book ever from Adriana Locke…..and I was instantly hooked. There is just something about her storytelling that is absolutely captivating. I really enjoyed reading Barrett & Allison’s story, and how their relationship developed. It was a great story and I look forward to meeting the rest of the Landry family!
*I volunteered to review a Copy of this book from the Author / Give Me Books Promotions*

5 Landry has my vote Stars!!
This was my first time reading Ms.Locke’s work and now i know why I’ve heard so many wonderful things about her books! Sway is original as can be and i absolutely loved every single second i spent reading it! It was more than i expected and i was happily surprised. The cover is so beautiful and i think it captures the main characters in the story perfectly. Politics and The south go hand and hand in this sweet as pecan pie read! When books are based in the south it instantly warms my heart and this one did just that!! I’m actually one of those people that’s interested in politics. Sway brought to light how cruel at times and crazy the world of politics really is. I felt like throughout the book i was getting an inside look to that life and not only was i intrigued i was shocked as well. With a lot of gossip, politics, romance, revelations and the state of Georgia to add a southern flare all mixed together makes for one heck of a story!
The flow of the story was perfect in my opinion and by how both of the main characters got their own point of views just made it even better. Not once did i feel like the pace was too fast or dull it was steady and very exciting. The writing was superb!! Ms.Locke impressed me beyond words and i seriously could kick myself for not having read her work sooner. She created a story that was not only beautiful and all out sexy but captivating in the sense of showing how life is so much better when you take those risks that leave you with a fuller heart. I must pick up all of her other books as soon as possible!! Once i reached the end and saw that Lincoln is getting his own book i totally freaked out! Winter can’t come soon enough! 😀
Alison Baker was a character who did everything in her power to bring some sort of normalcy into her and her sons life. When Mayor Barrett Landry popped up into her life he was everything but that, the opposite definition of it really and all the more high-profile. She was such a sweet woman who didn’t deserve to be burned the way she had been in her past. She was an amazing mother who wanted nothing but the best for her son Huxley. By putting her son first she won me over completely. The way she guarded her heart was very understandable and i found her more intriguing that way because it led me to wanting to know the reasons why she was like that. Alison cared about others and she didn’t take crap from anyone either. Many times during the story i thought she was brave and held her own. I adored her friendship with Lola and i hope she gets her own book!!
Barrett Landry was a character that’s life was filled with women, family, and the daily fuss of campaigning to be the next Georgia Governor. At the beginning he was very arrogant and i was terrified that i would dislike him right off the bat. As things progressed and i got to read what was he was exactly thinking he pushed his way into my heart with his southern gentlemen like ways to the point that he is going down as my favorite book boyfriend of 2016!! He had my mind all over the place and i think a story is so much more thrilling when a character like himself keeps the reader on their toes. The way he treated not only Alison but her son had me a swooning mess and i knew then that he had won me over even though he could’ve stood a few smacks to the face at times. All i could do was cross my fingers that things would work out for him and Alison and that he would finally get the courage to fight for what he believed in.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that will be sure to make you smile, blush, think, and laugh your socks off! I honestly don’t think I’ve ever read a political book before this one and it wasn’t just refreshing it was a terrific change in what i usually see in romance novels. If you are looking for a read that will be sure to hold your interest and shock you in the best ways possible then this book is just for you!! Honestly after reading Sway i don’t think i’ll ever be able to look at a Grape the same way again and the term getting Graped won’t leave my mind anytime soon. If you haven’t already One-Clicked this book, what exactly are you waiting for? Go right now and see what all of the buzz is about!! You won’t regret! I’m so looking forward to Lincoln’s story!! Landry definitely has my vote! 5 Stars all around!! 🙂
Sway by Adriana Locke…..Wow, so much heart in this story, the Landry family is amazing in their love and support for each other. The story is written and flows nicely, you can not put this book down, fun, sexy, Love and fantastic characters. Barrett and Alison are perfect for each other, but there are obstacles they have to get through and Alison makes Barrett work for it. Huxley is Alison’s son and what an awesome kid. I am so in love with Adriana Locke’s books, I can’t wait for the next one. I highly recommend this book or any book by this fantastic author.
“You just used me. I’m not a chess piece, Barrett—“
“You’re right,” he cuts me off. “You’re the whole damn board.”
Barrett Landry – Mayor. Ladies’ Man. Intelligent. Driven. And yet … incomplete.
Alison Baker – Single Mom. Independent. Hard working. NOT looking for any man to “complete” her.
“I don’t need a knight in shining armor. In my world,” she says, pausing, “I am the knight. I’m the one that saves the day.”
This was one of my favorite lines in the entire book! Alison is the spitting image of my mother, who raised me on her own. She’s tough, smart, and determined to make her way on her own, without relying on anyone. Throughout the whole story, she stayed true to herself and her goals, even while being wooed by such a man as Barrett.
And Barrett … wowza! He was so real. Never once did he seem like some made up, fictional character. He made mistakes, felt pressure from his family, made bad decisions, and then dealt with the consequences. I think I loved most that he wasn’t perfect and he didn’t always get his way with Alison. In a lot of stories, it’s often too easy for the characters to come together, but for me that doesn’t sit well. Real life is messy and we often get dragged through that mess before we find our true happy.
Barrett’s family is awesome too! A concoction of personalities, they were always in the background changing every scene. They truly brought me in and caused me to feel a part of the story. There was never a dull moment within the story, because it could be spent with anyone.
But the real character that makes this story is Huxley, Alison’s son. Full of innocent charm, and wisdom beyond his years, Hux is the levelheaded one throughout all the drama. If you don’t fall in love with him first, well ….
This was one of my favorite reads this month! It’s a great blend of the fantasy we dream of (and some of you live in!) and the real world we deal with. I LOVED the characters most of all and absolutely cannot wait to read the rest of the series to see what happens with the Landrys!
#HotMayor meets #SingleMom is the making for a great story and Adriana Locke delivers . Adriana does the story of Barrett and Alison justice as she makes you feel the cat and mouse game that first happens between them and when they do get-together … (HELLOOOOOO GRAPE SCENE !!!!) they can’t really go on as a “normal ” couple because of who he is . READ this to find out of the #problemsofherpast & #Pressproblems can be worked out or another notch on #Barrettsbelt
Could not get into the story
Enjoyed it thoroughly! Loved the characters in this book, especially the little boy. There was everything I’m looking for in a novel except a touch of surprise or suspense, which makes it a page turner. But well worth the read. I would certainly recommend it.
A surprising side to the heated and often times divided political sides, this book is a must read. There are funny antics, pure sexiness and just enough angst to make this a really great read. An amazing intro into the Landry family with Barrett who is the Mayor and running for Governor. Alison is a single mom with an adorable and endearing son, Huxley, who just makes the story so much more. Their personalities all mesh and the chemistry is so hot. I’ll never look at grapes the same again! I can’t wait to dive into the next book in this standalone series and get to know the rest of the Landry family better.
