From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jana DeLeon, a new installment in her bestselling Miss Fortune series.
What’s a little arson between friends?
Undercover CIA agent Fortune Redding spent her first three weeks in Sinful, Louisiana dodging insults, makeup advice, guard dogs, bullets, and Deputy Carter Trahan, both professionally and personally. But just when she thinks things … she thinks things are going to settle down in the small bayou town, someone sets her friend Ally’s house on fire.
Carter, who’d just started pursuing Fortune on a personal basis, goes back into cop mode and admonishes her to stay out of his investigation. This time, he swears he won’t issue any warning before arresting her. But with her friend’s safety hanging in the balance, Fortune can’t resist taking matters into her own hands and calls on her partners in crime fighting, Ida Belle and Gertie, to help.
This is a mission for Swamp Team 3.

I have read a number of books in this series on my kindle but when I wanted to buy my mum a present I decided I enjoy this series so why wouldn’t she. I soon had to read the book for myself as lots of laughing was coming from the corner of the room. I don’t think she had got as far as half way before she had me looking up how much it would cost to get the audiobook version, so soon I will have the paperback, the kindle and the audiobook.
This book see fortune’s new friend Ally in trouble. Leading Fortune, Ida Bell and Gertie to do what they do best, get in to TROUBLE, well what do you expect when you go undercover as a hooker at a joint called the swamp bar? Motorcycle chase, guns, deputy sheriff, wet t-shirts, chickens…..This book has it all.
Swamp Team 3 is the fourth book in Jana DeLeon’s Miss Fortune Mystery series. At this point, if I didn’t admit it before, I’m hooked. I love the reads. Fortune Redding is still trying desperately to remain undercover in Sinful, Louisianna. But when Ally, a waitress at Fortune’s favorite restaurant has her house set on fire, Fortune, along with the Geritol Mafia, Ida Belle, and Gertie, begin their own investigation. Deputy Sheriff Carter LeBlanc threatens arrest if they don’t stop, lot’s of luck with that. Fortune suggests Ally move in with her. What I really enjoy, along with the hilarious tale is the sense that Fortune has made friends and now has the frame of mind to do everything possible to keep Sinful, Louisianna and it’s residents safe. Not bad for a trained assassin. I’m really enjoying the series.
This was a fun book. I’ve read the entire series.
When Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie set their mind on a mission you know one of two things. It will either blow up in their face or whatever vehicle Gertie is driving will end of getting destroyed. If only the woman would go to the optometrist maybe her boat or Ida Belle’s could have been saved.
What is it about the Miss Fortune cozy mystery series that has me stating on page one and unable to put it down.
The friendships that are developing for Fortune are out of her comfort zone but she’s discovering how much she’s missed in life. Her attraction to Carter has me longing for him to know the truth even though his feelings are a natural progression to wanting her to be safe. This charming cozy mystery series is worth the read. I just wish I could slow down -thank goodness Ms. DeLeon is writing faster than I read.
Love the gutsy ladies!
I love this series. I highly recommend it if you want to laugh so hard that you can’t breathe and you got tears coming down your face
Another fun and hilarious mystery from Jana DeLeon!
Love this series!
This series improves with every book. The stories are wonderful and original but the characters are what brings me back. I highly recommend Jana DeLeon!
That was insane! So many bad things happening at the same time and it seemed that Fortune would have no choice but to reveal her true identity. Of course the “girls” had that covered and the secret is still safe. Not sure what can happen next but it’s going to be entertaining finding out.
I can’t get enough of this series. Funny, fast paced with just a hint of romance.
Sinful and Fortune are going to end up with the same reputation as Jessica Fletcher! Everywhere the poor woman goes there are murders and mayhem! It really doesn’t help when her new best friends are senior citizen ex-spies, who have a serious talent for getting into mischief. Staying under the radar is getting harder and harder for our under-fire CIA Assassin.
Poor Ally’s just wants t bake and some firebug set fire to her house, whilst she was still in it! But does it have anything to do with the slimy real estate guy or does the poor woman have trouble on two fronts?
Ida Belle and Gertie once more pretty much take over Fortune’s life. The whole getting ready for the NOT date with Carter was hysterical. Closely followed by getting ready to go to the Swamp Bar. OMG I may have wee’d myself a little.
Another fun adventure with the crazy gang in Sinful, Louisiana. Never a dull minute with these guys.
I’m now on book 6 of this series and I’ve loved them all. She is so descriptive that some parts are just laugh out loud funny. My only regret is I don’t have anyone to read those parts to and share the fun. If you enjoy an easy, light funny story these books are for you.
PG-13
Limited strong language (no F-bombs)
No sex
Humor
Romantic attractions
CIA Agent Fortune, who is living undercover, has been in Sinful, Louisiana for only a few weeks and already has found herself in the thick of several murders over the course of the book series. Seems unlikely, but for the sake of entertainment, okay….
The plot was fairly good, involving an arsonist, a “creeper”, and the obligatory murder. However, it was not as good as the couple of books. Fortune and her friends’ hijinks are just a bit too over the top. Nevertheless, I found myself grinning.
If you enjoy reading the Miss Fortune series, probably it would be best to wait at least a couple months before moving on to this one.
For light reading, yes. Go for it.
This whole series is very funny. The characters keep you guessing what they will come up with next. Recommend this series to anyone who wants light entertaining reading. This book begins developing a romantic aspect.
Can’t beet Jana DeLeon. Love her Miss Fortune series. This one takes the cake so far. Keep ’em coming Jana!
