It’s Christmas in Sinful and Fortune is set to participate in all the local hoopla. A Christmas gala, caroling, and a sleigh ride are on the agenda. Murder is not. But when someone bumps off Santa, Fortune is aware a killer is lurking among the holiday cheer. But with no client and no reason to interfere with a police investigation, it looks as if Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie will have to sit … sit this one out.
Big and Little Hebert might be criminals, but they prefer no competition in their territory, especially someone brazen enough to kill a man at the Christmas gala. When they hire Fortune to investigate the man’s death, she gets her Christmas wish and Swamp Team 3 sets out to solve their final case of the year.

I love her books. Jana always guarantees a LOL, rollicking good time. This murder mystery was a puzzler and I didn’t have a clue who the murderer was until it was revealed. I highly recommend this book.
Swamp Santa is the sixteenth book in Jana DeLeon’s Miss Fortune Mystery series and the most recent (October 2019) to date. At no surprise, delightfully crazy. It’s Christmas time in Sinful, Louisianna and Fortune, Gertie and Ida Belle are in the middle of the celebrations. One crazy scene after another, and then someone murders Santa. Big and Little Hebert return, local criminals who aren’t wild about competition. They hire Fortune to investigate Santa’s murder and another zany tale ensues. A really fun and enjoyable read and I’m hoping for the next book soon.
As if a pet gator and a cat aren’t enough, throw in a parrot owned by both nuns and the mob. Grab this book!
I love all the Miss Fortune books. Great characters and laugh out loud funny. Never a dull moment.
A fun way to escape reality and enjoy some good laughs and a great mystery.
For a holiday read, this outing for Swamp Team3 is pretty dark on a variety of fronts. It even has a questionable ending with justice may not fully been served. Now that I’ve many of these books, I no longer find them laugh out loud funny, especially not this one for reasons just mentioned. I still enjoy reading what’s up with the characters and town.
Never enough stars
As usual this was an awesome book. It grabs you from the beginning and never lets go. You will laugh out loud and not figure it out until the author is ready to reveal it. The ending was a shock, can’t wait to see what the next book brings.
Another hilarious story from Jana DeLeon. The characters are so witty and wild, I love them all, especially in audio. Thanks.

I laughed all the way through this book. Love the twist at the end of the mystery.
Jana Deleon is my favorite cozy writer.
Jana’s books always make me laugh.
Love the 3 women and their friends. Fantastical situations they get into and out of. Funny and exciting. Really good story’s always want more.of them. Never get tired of the crew.
Nothing like Christmasin Sinful. This story had more twists, turns and talk of a naked Gertie than I could handle. It was pure craziness with a ending that left you begging for the next book.
Love me some Fortune
Another fantastic Fortune mystery. Waiting for the next on.
Always time well spent in Sinful. I would love to hang out with Ida Belle , Gertie, and Fortune. Their style of justice is heart tugging and cheer worthy. One of the best series ever, but only if you enjoy laughing and snorting because these books will make you do both at the same time. Enjoy!
I Have enjoyed the entire series. I love a fast moving mystery that makes me laugh out loud. The characters are amazing . Their interactions are what provides the humor. Anxiously awaiting the next installment.
I am hooked on the Swamp team. How can you not love a CIA assassin, now retired and a PI, with her older, former, Army intelligence buddies in a town called Sinful, LA? These dangerous women try to keep crime down in Sinful without stepping on the toes of Fortune, the lead character’s Deputy boyfriend. Another very small, very unique town setting with a passle of quirky characters, good and bad. This of course happens around Christmas and involves a bad outcome for a Santa, who isn’t who anyone thought it was and that’s just the take off point. Adoptions, crooked PIs and the fun Mob guys who love these women kind of like Ranger loves Stephanie and you’ve got a fun holiday story.
Love , love Jana deleon
The books in this series just get better and better. They are “laugh out loud” hilarious .
