You thought there was only one Death? Aww, that’s sweet…Just like all little girls, I hoped I was special and that one day my powers would be revealed. My parents would be bewildered, my friends would equally worship and envy me, and my bullies would run away in terror! Nothing happened when I turned 10. I didn’t grow wings at 12, still wasn’t able to make things move with my mind at 14, and at … 14, and at 16 I was already too old to believe in such nonsense. Well, what do you think happened the day I turned 18? I got the confirmation that I was only human. In the mail! Oh, and also an invitation to apply to the Grim Reaper Academy. Because, apparently, humans can be Grim Reapers, too.
Fast forward to day one, semester one, year one. There’s a test! No one told me I’d have to take a test to enter! But there are only 22 Grim Reapers in the world, the competition is tough, so I guess it makes sense? If I pass, then I will be sorted according to what kind of Death I’ll make if I survive the rigors of the Academy. Merciful Death? Neutral Death? Oh, please God, don’t let me be sorted into the Violent Death Cabal! All the A-holes are there! And I don’t think I can compete with Holier-Than-Thou Sariel (cause he’s an archangel, you see), Jerkface-No-1 Pazuzu AKA Paz (cause all demons are major morons), Mr. Bow-To-Me GC Apis (ugh, false gods are the worst), and Francis (no idea what his deal is, he doesn’t talk much).
But this is my chance, dammit! This is what I’ve been waiting for all my life! Okay, so I’m not a princess, or a mermaid, or Sailor Moon. But I can be a Grim Reaper one day. I’ll take it!
***Author’s Note: This is book 1 in the Grim Reaper Academy series, intended for mature audiences. Please be advised that it may contain situations that are triggering to some, profanity (way more than in my previous books!), and a lot of steam.

Well worth reading!
Mila Lazarov is the daughter of Bulgarian immigrants, and she is spending her summer working in her mother’s diner. On her eighteenth birthday she recieves an unusual letter, and her life will never be the same. When she arrives at Grim Reaper Academy, Mila is confronted with the fact that who knows very little about the world she lives in, and that the paranormal creatures her mother loves to read about, really do exist. The letter said she was an exception, but Mila isn’t prepared for her reception at the Academy. She will be viciously bullied, and will eventually discover the real reason for the acceptance in the Grim Reaper Academy.
Wow, these are unique and fascinating characters, and Mila will eventually realize that her tormentors, although most are very powerful, have the same issues as most teenagers. A fantastic new world to explore and a plot with unexpected twists. I loved this book, and look forward to reading more of this series.

This is another great academy book to read. It has some intense moments, a little suspense and intrigue. There is some love interest going on but nothing has really happened as is yet.
So you will read about Mila Lazarov and get her background. This is a great set up to what will come. I can say that when you start reading, you do get sucked in the story. This girl has a rough life living at home and can u understand some of her choices she has made. The most exciting choice was accepting the invitation to attend Grim Reaper Academy. Here she meets Sariel, Pazazu, Francis, and GC and these guys are not nice. However, that doesn’t stop them from wanting to hook up with her. Mila has endured a lot In life so when she is being bullied she handles it as good as can be expected. This book had so much intrigue that I had to know what was happening and before I knew it, I came to the end. I need more and can’t wait for the next book
I feel that five stars are not enough…this book is an incredible piece of creative genius! I have bawled my eyes out for Mila, wanted to beat up half the characters on her behalf and dragged myself through my day just so that I could return home faster and continue reading. It’s been a while since a book has taken me on such an emotional roller-coaster…it was totally worth it!
What an incredible story! The characters were amazing, the writing was awesome, the plots, the twists, the turns, the mystery, the pure and raw emotions that Mila went through on this journey,…wow…just wow! I need someone to hand me some chocolates…and tissues…..oh and the next book would be good too! 🙂

Super excited and itching for the rest of the series to come. Mila is an in depth character, relatable, but full of surprises. It has intense moments, both brutal and swoon worthy.
The first couple chapters did have a very Harry Potter/ Hogwarts feel, but as the story progressed it really bloomed into its own reality.
I would love to give the book 5 stars, but I felt that it could have used another edit as there were a lot of spelling errors. And some grammatical that could use a touch up. But, that didn’t make me love the book any less.

Mila works at her parents diner doing the worst jobs, just hoping to get through high school and then finally be able to head off to collage. Then her life takes one heck of an unexpected turn. She heads off to Grim Reaper school, and isn’t quite sure what she’s gotten her self into. She manages to make a friend and some enemies in just the first few minutes.
I loved this one, watching her get through the days, just trying to make it through the classes, not to mention surviving the bullies. MIla is one tough human! Can’t wait for the next book!!
This book immediately draws you in and will not let you go. You will laugh and cry with all of the characters. I cannot wait to see where this is going to go and how Mila will survive and with whom. You will be on the edge of your seat with the action and the roller coaster of emotions.

This book was amazing. The romance was not rushed, there was mystery that made you want to keep reading. The ending made me want to read book two right away.

This is the first book by Cara Wylde I have read and i really enjoyed this book and im totally looking forward to reading book 2.
In this first installment we meet Mila Lazarov, the first human chosen to enroll at Grim Reaper Academy. There, she will compete with supernaturals for a spot to be one of the only 22 grim reapers in the world.
This book was a wonderful intro into the Grim Reaper world. Cara Wylde introduces us to false gods, demons, archangels, mages, succubus. All competing to become Grim reapers wich is one of my favorite character followed closely by demons. so win-win for me.
At the beginning i found some Harry Potter vibes when Mila enters the dining hall of the academy and the way each students is sorted by what kind of death they will be as Grim Reapers, thought it is the only similarities btw the two.
Loved Mila and can’t wait to see her thrive in her new role as a Grim Reaper and in the supernatural world. Altought i don’t know how Sariel can be redeemed for what he did to her, time will tell hope that she will kick his butt and won’t forgive too easily . By the end of this book Mila has 2 guys by her side and nothing too steamy happens cause she is still questioning if they are with her for her or else.
Can’t wait to see what will happen next! Just pre-ordered the next book.

Wow! I am not even sure if this book can get any better than it already is…
Mila, this normal/not-so-normal human, has landed herself in the world of the supernatural. From the moment she steps foot onto the Academy, she has been the target of bullying. Not knowing who is real and who is fake has made it quite hard to trust anyone. Although, she does has a knack for making friends from unexpected places. Now being given the biggest challenge and responsibility as of yet, she will need all the help she can get to attempt to pull it off.
I loved every second of the story. It was great and I truly enjoyed it! Before even reaching the halfway point, I knew I was going to want more way before I turned the last page. I am anxious and excited for the next book! Great story, well written, worth the read!
