Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin #3)
By Gwyn McNamee
5 stars
Every time I think I have found my favourite book from this author along she comes with her next release and does it again! I think the majority of my top 50 books belong to this author. Every single one is amazing and the third and final book in The Deadliest Sin series is of course no exception. I have loved this series, which does need to be read in order, and Surviving Wrath was just the perfect conclusion to it. Although I am, as always when a series by Ms McNamee finished, sad that it’s over that just means there will be something new out soon!
After the cliff-hanger of book 2 we were straight back into the action with the beginning of this book. I loved seeing things from Rea’s side although the story was quite short and 100% left me wanting more. The author managed to save some shock and surprises for this story too which was fantastic – she definitely saved the best until last with this one!
As mentioned before the series must be read in order but I more than 100% recommend it – it’s a phenomenal read and I can’t wait to see what this amazingly talents author comes out with next!
Gwyn McNamee is one of those authors that is next to impossible to accurate to review… I say this because I have increasingly run out of words to describe how great her novels are. The Deadliest Sin Series has been one that I have loved right out the gate and it has been a hellacious ride to this fabulous finale, Surviving Wrath. I am sad to see this series ends, but hopeful because that means that there will soon be a new story to come from McNamee that will sweep me away just as fabulously. This definitely is one you will want to read in order however so if you haven’t first scooped up Wrath, book one, and After Wrath, book two, then you will want to do so immediately and start there. IF I had one thing to say about this book is it was short and so fast paced I feel as if I barely got enough to satiate my palette of Rea’s side of things. But I see the full vision and why she cut things off the way she did. It simply makes me dream of a bonus novella… hint hint lol. Really it is difficult to say anything negative about this book. Rea is the star of this one and as far as details you won’t find them here in my review, for those you will need to devour this read for yourself. I know you won’t be disappointed that you did! Buckle up! You’re in for one heck of a ride!
Wrath has given the characters in this series some serious challenges. All the emotional turmoil, the troubles and heartache, it all boils down to letting it beat you down or standing up and fighting. I loved Rea’s story. This ties in with the other two books in the series and finally, we get some answers! Can Rea survive Wrath? Bring it on! I just loved, loved this series!
McNamee is rising on my list of one click authors. This latest installment doesn’t disappoint. It kept me enthralled from beginning to end. Tears, suspense…even romance. This book has something for everyone. Even with the dark tone that rides throughout I think most book lovers in general will find this masterful piece to be spellbinding. Wow!
Holding on to hurt and anger leads to decisions that can leave scars on many lives! Rhea has had to make sacrifices due to the anger and hurt of others.
We saw the pain wrath can cause from Wrath; book 1 and After Wrath; book 2! In this amazing conclusion we see what it takes to survive and that love is bigger than any sin!
Surviving Wrath is the third and final book in The Deadliest Sin series and what a great conclusion to a fantastic series. If you’ve read the first two books then you know this series is intense, dark and soooo good! In this book we get Rea’s story and we come full circle with everything that’s happened since book one. This is a quick read but it has so much going on even some unexpected twists that pulled me into the story even more.
This intense series never fails to leave me blissfully wrung out! I devoured every word while on the edge of my seat. So many feels – excitement, shock, heart break, lust – I felt like a live wire bouncing all over. At one point I wanted to throw my kindle and yell. Wrath is no joke!
This final installment had me so wound up. Gah all the surprises and suspense had me gasping in shock. All the while wondering who will meet their demise? Who will survive? Will Rea and the others outsmart the ghost? Can they protect sweet, innocent little Pjeter?
Every aspect of this magnificent story is impeccably written and perfectly paced. Brilliant. Intelligent. I will never get enough of this talented authors words!
Surviving Wrath is the third and final book of The Deadliest Sin series.
Wow, I’m not sure if I’m pissed at the author or if I totally love her.
Even though all the characters are bad guys I still loved them all.
I really can’t say anymore than that without giving away any of the plot.
I think this is a wonderful series and you should go get it.
Gwyn does not disappoint!!!
Darker than my typical reads, Gwyn McNamee’s Deadliest Sins series comes to an epic conclusion with Surviving Wrath. Full of twists, turns & tears, Gwyn does an amazing job of tying up “loose ends” & giving her readers an ending I didn’t see coming!
Wow what a way to end a series.
Hope we get to see more from these characters. Was enthralled from start of book one and still am now.
Definitely won’t be forgetting this in a hurry.
I loved this book! I’m a little sad that it’s ending but I am excited to see what this author will have next for us. This series is not a standalone, I highly recommend reading them in order so you don’t miss anything. In this book we get to see Rea’s side of the story. I won’t give anything away about this story but I will say that it is full of action, sadness and hope. I loved the characters and how they bring the story to life. They will pull you into their story. This is a must read!
This book is the 3rd book in “The Deadliest Sin” series and Gwyn McNamee knows how to lure a reader in and keep them totally enraptured with great character and storyline development! I was so engrossed in this story that I read this fantastic book in one sitting! I highly recommend reading this series!
Whew! What a heart pounding, nerve wracking conclusion to this story! Reading this book was like being on a rollercoaster, twisting and turning never knowing what was going to happen. Wrath is the theme throughout this trilogy and you get to experience it on all facets. Who will be left standing? Who will survive the wrath? I enjoyed this book immensely.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
This series grabs my heart
Rea and Pjeters intense gripping mindboggling twisted story ruined me
excellent from start to finish
Surviving Wrath is the final book in The Deadliest Sin Series. What an end it was!! Talk about surprises! The whole series was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. This book, as well as the others, are books you will not want to miss.
A violent and heart-wrenching end to the trilogy
In Wrath we got Konstandin’s story, in After Wrath we heard from The Dragon, Aleksander. Surviving Wrath is Rea’s turn to speak to us. This is a continuing series, so both previous books need to be read before this one.
Each book has explored the impact of wrath, both on the main character and those around them. For so long Rea has been the victim or wrath, an innocent pawn in the games of other people. All she strives for is to be able to build a peaceful life for her son. Wrath isn’t done with her just yet, but a threat to the innocent who is her whole life means Rea must unleash a wrath of her own.
What results is a story full of action, intrigue, loss, sorrow and hope. It’s a fairly quick read but still manages to pack plenty of passion in, as well as the violent world that Rea has never wanted a part of. An great conclusion to a fantastic series.
What a conclusion for such a dark series! The deadliest sin of wrath is like hate and will swallow you whole if you give in to it. If you’re a regular reader of dark stories, or of Gwyn’s books anyway, then you know life isn’t all sunshine and puppies- and neither is this.
Surviving Wrath finishes what was started in the first book of Wrath; and you must read the series in order to get the whole story from each perspective of the major players. Each book is a different perspective, which adds many elements to the whole thing. When I read Wrath for the first time I was left wanting more of Rea/Jade’s story, so I finally got what I wanted and then some. There were some things that I expected in this, even if I didn’t want them to happen.
The third and finale book in The Deadliest Sin Series. An unexpected, violent way to end this story, but truly amazing! Surviving Wrath is an emotional journey really, the most emotional book of the series. Everything comes full circle in this book and shows you how revenge can impact lives.
If you haven’t already, you should give this series a try by starting with Wrath.
This was a fast read, but full of gun fights and steamy scenes. It was also full of surprises! This series has been a roller coaster ride from the beginning! Totally worth it!
