A monster had been set free in Shame, one that would not rest until he exacted his revenge. The rules might have changed but the game had only begun. More bodies would drop and more people would get hurt. From the beginning, I only ever wanted to love him. The more he pursued The Villains, and let the monster have control, the more I sought comfort with an old friend. But after everything I went … everything I went through, could I ever love anyone other than Shame?
From the author of The Irreparable Series comes the second installment in The Irish Bastards Series. With all the angst you expect from KJ Bell, Surviving Shame will bring you to your knees and have you begging for a happy ending.

And the saga continues! This book picks up where book one left off. More drama in the world of Shame & Breeze.
Their story isn’t easy, all hearts and rainbows. Not even close. It’s frustrating, it’s gritty, and even gut-wrenching at times.
All the drama, all the secrets & lies, and all the brutal MC business makes for a very bumpy ride.
I definitely need closure, so thank goodness book 3 is available!
Picks up where book one finished. Even though Shame didn’t think talking to someone would help his attorney thought it would. Although proving his innocence wouldn’t get rid of the ghost that haunt him or his determination to protect the woman he loved. The next part of their story wasn’t any better than the first and some things even Breeze didn’t know.
Breeze can’t believe what Shame has done, she was the one that killed him, but Shame made it look like he did it convincing them. The want her all story to help prove his innocence, the problem is she doesn’t think she knows everything. She does know that when she left the hospital, she became a Bastard.
Throughout the mess the one constant was no matter how hard he pushed Breeze away, whenever she fell down, he was always there to catch her. Throughout the things that Breeze learnt, it was the one thing Shame never wanted, she learnt how to be a Bastard.
With everything that was happening Breeze had a lot to think about, and Shame finally says what she’s wanted to hear forever, Shame warned her things were going to change and they did they got messy again. Shame realised that he wanted Breeze back but was he too late.
I waited two years for this book. Two agonizing, question swirling years and now that I finally had the chance to read it, I feel this sense of relief and loss. For so long I wanted to go back into the world of the Irish Bastards and get swept away into the madness that was their life and welcome new beginnings while seeking justice. I got those things and so much more but I can feel the loss coming because you know what they say… all good things must come to an end.
“What happens when we discover the very person we are is a lie? The answer; we realize the only thing worse than a lie is betrayal.”
If you’ve read the first book in the series Living with Shame then you know that sh*t got real for Breeze and Shame and they’re looking at a long road ahead of them which is mostly going to be in a courtroom. With their only option being to look out for one another and hopefully get out of unscathed, Breeze and Shame tells us a story. But it’s not just any story. It’s their story and it is messed up, hurtful, empowering, raw, anger worthy, passionate and truthful.
I was put on such an emotional roller coaster ride with these two characters and if I’m being honest, I’m still feeling the effect. Shame and Breeze were complex stubborn characters and some of their decisions frustrated me and made me want shake some sense into them but the best thing about it was that we kind of knew what the end game was going to be and that calmed my worry a bit. I fell in love with these two from the minute I read the first chapter in book one and seeing what they had to go through and the strength it took, made me love them even more.
I’m so glad I came across this series and I can’t wait to see what the finale is going to be like!! If there’s one thing you should know about Shame is that this man is the leader of his gang for a reason. He’s ruthless and he will stop at nothing to protect his family and Breeze and at the end of the day, you DO NOT want to cross him. His swagger is effortless, his love is complicated but never ending, and his determination to keep his loved ones safe, is why I have nothing but love for him.
If you haven’t read this series yet, you really need to give them a try. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to read the final book!!!
*Arc received for an honest review.
“I was his burden, and he was my constant, and I had loved him since I was 13.”
Oh what a frustrating and toxic merry go round Shame and Breeze continue on. I went from cheering, to yelling, and back and forth throughout this whole series. It always seemed like something was there tripping them up, but what a wild ride it was!! I enjoyed the continuation and this series makes for an addictive binge!!
