Book one in the Surviving Series“Perhaps love is too strong of a word, maybe it’s only a feeling touching the edges of love, momentarily blinding our perception of the profound emotion.”Having never fully healed from that fateful night so long ago. Dr. Theodore Grants simply exists, traveling into the deepest darkest places of his past. Living where life and love no longer breathed. Unprepared for … longer breathed. Unprepared for the cure to come.
He was a prominent, renowned psychiatrist. He had it all: wealth, prestige, respect. Or so he thought. When tragedy unexpectedly struck, he was forced to help his best friend’s daughter.
What he didn’t know was that he needed her, like his own breath. He fought the desire leading him astray, but in the end, he wanted only one thing: Her. She found his demons and slayed them with her innocence, crept into his heart like a spark of light.
Passion sizzles, and sparks fly when the beautiful wounded Eden appears, to hell with what was right. Losing everything never factored in. All he wanted was to live in the moment.
Her moment.
Eden and Theo’s journey continues in book two where Alex and Madison take center stage.

This books has so many surprises in it that you don’t see coming and so much more than what the blurb said. These two have so much pain to work through and are able to find it with each other even though it may not be the most professional way to begin a relationship. A great beginning to this series. I can’t wait for the next couple‘s story.
The story was good. I thought it was a little slow to began with. I also think the main guy, Dr Grant was very odd. Just the way he described himself and the way he thought about Eden. It was very odd.. I don’t think it was my cup of tea but the story was good. On to book 2!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m hooked. I’m so grateful I have the next installment of the series already downloaded.
The story moves quickly and while it is a story of forbidden love, it is truly about the process of healing. The H and h are both very likeable, the best friends are fantastic and the open door sex scenes were easily skimmed.
I read this book on one sitting and found it enjoyable and entertaining.
This was a brilliant story from the get go, and one that you will not want to miss! Surviving Eden is Book 1 in the Surviving Series from author Virginia Wine. This author has an amazing writing style that’s easy flowing, captivating and well developed characters and plot lines.
This story had many twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat. But also whole following along with Eden & Theo’s story I was taken along on an emotional rollercoaster that was so raw and real that you felt as though you were living the emotions yourself. Theo & Eden have a chemistry that is hot, intense and immediate. With the tragedy that has struck both Theo & Eden life previously they have both been going through life with this impacting their day to day lives. Will they be able to find themselves with the help of each other & manage to live a new life together?
I cannot wait to read the rest of this series, if it is anything compared to this one then I will not be disappointed, and neither will you!
Don’t miss this read!
Surviving Eden is about loss, grief and love. Theodore Grant is a psychologist helping Eden deal with her grief over losing her family. While I found the characters interesting, I would have liked more of their back stories. I felt their back story was just thrown in to the story. I like the attraction between the two, but given the possible fall out that could happen, I expected Theo to put up more of a fight. The story was well written, the story line was good and I will read the next book in the series, as I really liked Alex.
Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine
4-stars
Surviving Eden is a fabulous forbidden love romance read! It’s the first book in the Surviving Series and also my first book by this author but it certainly won’t be my last. This book had me feeling all kinds of emotional from beginning until the very end. I was swept up in Theo and Eden’s story right from the get-go and I ended up reading their story in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to put it down.
The storyline flowed seamlessly and there was so much detail that it felt as if I was right there alongside these characters. I was able to connect with them right from the start which really added to my reading experience. I hope to read more about them in the future!
I can’t wait to dive into my next read by this incredible author! And would absolutely recommend this book to others!
Surviving Eden is the first book in the Surviving Series by Virginia Wine. If this first book is any indication of how the whole series will be then I’m sure that this will be a series that I read many times.
Dr Theo Grant is a highly renowned psychiatrist. With a very difficult childhood behind him, he himself would be a psychiatrist dream to work with. His past has led him to believe that he’s not lovable and he has no intention of settling down with one woman. That is until he met Eden Barnett.
Eden is the adopted daughter of Theo’s best friend Matthew Barnett. When Matthew and his beloved wife are tragically killed, Eden becomes Theo’s patient to help her deal with her grief.
To say that sparks flew when these 2 met would be an understatement. They are both drawn to one another and their connection is fierce.
Can Theo go against one of the very cornerstones of his profession and have a relationship with his patient? Will helping Eden also help Theo deal with the demons from his own past? Can they both heal each other?
In order to answer these questions I would urge you to read this book. These 2 characters are amazingly well written. You, as the reader, get to see right into their souls.
Thankfully, I also have books 2 and 3 on my kindle just waiting for me to devour. I can’t wait to see what Virginia Wine has in store for Theo and Eden and also for their friends and family members who will take centre stage in the rest of this series.
In the Surviving Series, Surviving Eden is book one by Virginia Wine is a contemporary romance book. This is my first book by this author, and it will not be my last. The characters are fully developed, and the story line is so close to be true that I felt like I was with the characters watching while on Eden’s shoulder. There are some scenes that be a bit explicit for an audience under the age of 18. The story took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Eden and Theo both have had accidents in their past that that had them just going through life without meaning. Will Eden be the answer for Theo and vice versa? Or will the accidents in their lives steer clear of each other?
Surviving Eden is book one in the Surviving Series by Virginia Wine. I was intrigued by the blurb of this story, and just knew I was in for a spellbinding read. I love the taboo genre, and this book was a delight to read.
Theo and Eden should never have played with fire. Eden had tragedy strike and Theo was no stranger to loss, either. They were instantly drawn to each other, and although morally wrong, their feelings felt oh, so right. Their love was forbidden, but the need could not be denied, and the ultimate sacrifice was made.
Getting to know Theo and Eden was easy to do as they were so hard to resist. Their story screamed at me to read it. Their feelings were evident and the attraction blindingly obvious. Surviving Eden was emotional, arousing, addictive, splendid. Their journey was fraught with friction, suspense, drama, and those that wanted to see them fail. Their strength was immeasurable, their love unconditional, their story now told. 5 stars.
Surviving Eden was a great 5 star read.
We start out in the past with a heartbreaking scene involving Theo and his family.
We jump ahead to present day, he is now a psychiatrist. When Theo gets a call about a tragic accident involving his best friend and wife the past memories come rushing back to him.
When he sees Eden at the funeral he has a connection with her, he understands her pain. He quickly leaves knowing he needs to get away from her. There is something about her that he can’t get out of his mind, an attraction he knows isn’t right. When fate brings her to his office things take a twist and get even more interesting.
Will these two be able to help heal each other’s hearts? Can they have a HEA?
I really enjoyed this book, I was pulled right in and didn’t want to stop until I was done. I really liked Theo and Eden. Theo was a straightforward man he never led anyone on as to what he wanted in the bedroom, and boy were there some hot scenes. Eden was great as well, she was determined to get answers to her questions no matter what. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I can’t wait to read more from these two and this series.
Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine is the first book in the Surviving series. I had some expectations going in after reading the synopsis and it far exceeded them.
Dr. Theo Grant has dealt with his fair share of pain. He losses his parents and younger sister at a young age. Then loses his best friend. He didnt know when he walked in the door for the funeral his world gets rocked.
Eden Barnett is just starting her life, getting ready to graduate college. But she meets the Dr. and she has no doubts about him.
There was a lot of stuff happening in this book and it all just worked well and I’m looking forward to the next book and hopefully get an update on these two.
Virginia Wine’s Surviving Eden is the first book in the Surviving Series. This romantic suspense was an emotional read. Two souls that have had unfortunate events in their lives that shifts their axis, forcing them to find themselves again. Theo is a magnetic individual, a thriving psychiatrist living on his own terms – though something also seems just out of his grasp. Eden is the next shift in Theo’s life and this story takes the reader on the journey of discovering, along with them, on where fate truly wants them to be regardless of the potential consequences they may encounter. I found that this story was a thrilling read that I could not put down. I look forward to reading the next book(s) in the series to see how this story continues, as well as, the additional characters that are in the series.
Both the author and narrator are new to me. I love angsty, forbidden, taboo listens so I was thrilled to give this one a go. Let me start by saying I really enjoyed the narrator, she did a wonderful job with both male and female characters. I would definitely like to listen to her narration again. Theo is a psychiatrist who has suffered loss in his life. When his best friend dies Theo is asked to care for his daughter, Eden. As soon as he sees Eden, Theo is questioning everything as a doctor he agreed to uphold. He finds himself drawn to Eden and Eden is also drawn to him. Will he put his career on the line for just one taste of her lips? I enjoyed this listen about loss, love and the grey areas we sometimes find ourselves in.
Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine is book one of the Surviving Series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I was not disappointed. I absolutely enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read book two!
Theo has experienced an extreme tragedy. Because of that, he is effective in his role as a psychiatrist. When he meets Eden, she is the light to his darkness. He doesn’t expect to feel what he feels for Eden and he does his best to convince himself that he can’t act on the feelings he has for her.
Eden has recently experienced her own tragedy and can’t help but feel drawn to Theo. As much as he thinks he can help her, she knows she can help him too. Theo needs Eden and nothing about their circumstances will keep them apart.
This book drew me in and I couldn’t put it down!! I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to finish the series.
It’s always refreshing to start a book that feels different. Meeting Theo was like breathing fresh air. Getting to know him as an individual was quite beautiful. He had his struggles, like any well-developed character. It was those struggles that keep you wanting to go back for more. Then Eden comes along, and everything just falls into place.
I loved everything about Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much I enjoyed the book and characters. And those struggles that I mentioned before, yeah – definitely loved those. I can’t wait to see where the author takes her readers. I’m excited for more.
This is one of those books that the synopsis alone had me hooked. I always love a little taboo here and there so this was one I was ready to devour.
Both Theo and Eden are both suffering from loss. Both are clouded with grief and have a way of handling it different. Theo met grief early on in life while with Eden its fresh. Theo is a very well known psychiatrist and takes Eden on as a patient (she’s the daughter of one of his friends). Almost immediately he realizes this won’t be easy. They both have this pulse and electric energy between them that neither one can deny. I went into this book really thinking that the age difference was the taboo bit (13 years) but I think it’s more about the Doctor / patient aspect that’s more of the taboo.
The writing and flow of the story was beautifully done. There were things that surprised me and I love that it wasn’t predictable. I cannot wait to dive into book 2 and see where this series takes me!
Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine
Four Stars
Surviving Eden is the first book in the Surviving series by Virginia Wine. This is my first book byMs. Wine, but definitely won’t be the last. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in this series. This forbidden romance is full of mystery, suspense and drama. Eden and Theo’s story is highly emotional and even though Theo is Eden’s doctor the chemistry between the two is pulling them together. Both characters are strong and have not had the ideal life, will they be able to overcome the doctor/patient stigma and find true happiness? Thi twists and turn throughout this book will have you wondering what is coming next. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine is the first book in her new contemporary romance series, Surviving Series. Following the story of Dr. Theodore Grant and Eden, I couldn’t get enough of either of these characters. Dr. Grant, Theo, is a psychiatrist, but more than that he is a man who has never had feelings toward anyone. He just simply exists with no emotional attachments to anyone or thing. That is until he meets Eden. There is something about her that pulls him in from the very beginning. The way that Eden makes him feel is something that he wasn’t prepared for but she brings out the protector in him that he can’t seem to control. Eden is a woman in her own category. She is beautiful, strong willed and intelligent, and yet there is something about Theo that she can’t deny pulls her towards him. The attraction between these two is palpable from the very beginning, and the passion that comes from them is enough to light my e-reader on fire. But the emotions that Eden brings out in Theo are things he isn’t used to, and it makes him uncertain of his path with her. Is there a future for the two of them, together? The mystery, suspense and romance all tied into this story really kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end on this one. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for me. Wine is a new to me author, and I am so happy that I picked this series up. If you are looking for a great new author with a storyline that will hook you from the beginning and never let go than this is the one for you. I can’t wait to see where this series goes in the future cause it’ll be a heck of ride to read!
Surviving Eden (Surviving Series Book 1) by Virginia Wine is a contemporary romance story about love and loss and finding that one person who understands you. It is also about forbidden love in the eyes of others, doctor/patient, age and best friends daughter. But as we know love has no boundaries and it doesn’t discriminate, love is love and not one size fits all. Virgina has once again cleverly woven and written a story that will make your heartache and shows real and raw feelings. It is a story that has drama and passion, loss and love and finding your one but in the midst of loss so great, that you feel deep in your soul.
Dr Theodore Grant has been closed off emotionally for years and the only things he lets himself feel are the things that are extreme, fast cars, sex and the one being in control and professional. When he is asked to take on a new patient he finds himself suddenly feeling things he has never felt. He finds himself succumbing and his control slipping whenever she is around. Will he give in to temptation or will all his moral codes to fly out the window?
It is a great start to the series and I can’t wait for the rest.
Surviving Eden By Virginia Wine Book one in the ‘Surviving Series

How incredibly sad. To lose so much and then learn that your life is a lie. I hope to never experience what Eden does. Theo was a jerk at first he was real and didn’t lead females on but man he was a douche. I’ve never felt survivors guilt or the pain of losing a parent. From the authors words alone I felt their pain. This story was well written. The characters were developed greatly and were relatable. I happen to prefer older men so I understand Eden’s attraction to Theo. I think the author balanced the light moment and the sadder moments really well. This story is definitely worth the time it took to read.
