“What an incredible book! Survival of the Richest has everything — Skye Warren’s beautiful writing, a sexy, compelling story; intricate characters, and a provocative love triangle that will captivate you until the very end.” ~ New York Times bestselling author Nina Lane
My story starts with a plunge into the cold water of Manhattan’s harbor.
A strong hand hauls me back onto the deck of the luxury yacht. Christopher was supposed to be my enemy. Instead he protects me with fierce determination.
That should have been my happily ever after, but then Sutton appeared–ruthless and seductive. He doesn’t care that my heart belongs to someone else, because he’s determined to win. No matter the cost.
It’s an impossible choice, but I can’t have them both.

Good book of you do not mind a cliff hanger
UGH
I really did enjoy it. Skye is a gifted writer. I am just as confused as the h. Two amazing, sexy, manipulative men. You love them and hate them at the same time. Well hate is a strong word, are frustrated by them at least. Can’t wait for the next book.
A book that you want to read in one sitting.
As I mentioned in my review of the prologue/prequel, this was my first book by this author. Hell if I know why it took me so long!! Her writing is phenomenal and pulled me right in – which is pretty rare these days for me because it usually takes at least a couple of pages.
What surprised me most was the way the author approached the love triangle because the prologue didn’t at all prepare me for another guy in the story. To be honest, I’m not much a fan of love triangles because I don’t like one of the characters to be heartbroken in the end. In this case I was not sure for whom I was rooting for because at first it was Christopher all the way. But when Sutton came along… hallelujah! That man was sex on a stick! =P
I’d say this book was exceptional in the matter that I found myself loving things I usually don’t. I loved the female character almost more than the men, which says a lot but does not mean that I didn’t love them as well. People underestimated Harper and I could relate to that. Aren’t woman usually underestimated in general?! Anyway, she was such a clever woman who knew how to wrap men around her finger even unintentionally. The witty conversations and steamy moments had my feelings in a spin and the underlying sexual tension was almost frustratingly painful.
Christopher was a mystery to me because I never quite knew his intentions and what he was thinking. He always kept a distance and maybe that’s what intrigued me the most. Sutton was a straightforward guy who obviously liked to play but knew what he wanted and went for it. Those two men couldn’t be any more different in how they grew up, how they viewed and approached things, and yet desired the same woman.
Harper had her work cut out for herself with those two very stubborn men for different but at the same time quite similar reasons. Her only concern at first though was her mother’s health which was the reason that she’s in this situation between these men, because of money and Christopher. Although she was probably one of the richest women in the world, having no direct access to her money was not the only complication in her life anymore when her heart battled with its love for two men.
There’s such a great flow in the story and a lot of tension between the characters that it I almost forgot to breathe during this read. As weird as it may sound, I didn’t even want to blink in fear of losing the focus and missing anything of this very captivating story.
I’m not sure if I missed the signs or if it wasn’t mentioned anywhere but I went into the story unknowing that it was a duet. Luckily though we don’t have to way too long for the follow up.
A rare book that lives up to all its hype.
A complex plot with complicated and multi-layered characters, this book dealt with money and the power it bestows on the people who handle it, and the victims of those who hold the purse strings.
Harper St. Claire is the perfect example of a poor broken rich girl. When she lives with her father, she enjoys a life of extreme luxury, as befits the child of a billionaire; when she lives with her mother, she lives a hand-to-mouth existence unless her mother has married into money. Unfortunately, her mother’s marriages, same as her father’s marriages, never last long. So Harper has accumulated a long list of step-siblings along the way, and a hard core of defense against meeting new stepmothers and stepfathers. She has also learned to cook a lot of Ramen noodle dinners.
Only once was she affected by a step-sibling, when she met Christopher Bardot. Her father accepted him as the son he never had and lavished attention on him. Even after divorcing Christopher’s mother, Harper and her father kept in contact with Christopher. Christopher was, at times, a partner in crime with Harper. But all that came to an end when Harper’s father died and Christopher was assigned to be the executor of her inheritance.
Mr. St. Claire had a weird attitude towards money. He provided for his daughter, but only necessities, like education and health benefits. She either had to work or starve for the rest. Her parents had a hate/love relation, her father never permitted her mother to enjoy any of his money, and the same rule is applied to Harper’s inheritance.
Harper and Christopher have a strange and fascinating relation. Harper both hated and loved him. I suspected that Christopher has been in love with Harper from the beginning, but obligations and honor kept him from acting on his feelings, so he just followed Mr. St. Claire’s instructions to the letter. There’s conflict and arrogance and stubbornness. Christopher is good on controlling money, making fortunes grow with investments, but he’s inept on dealing with people. He takes up a business partner and a love/lust triangle begins, as Harper gets fascinated with Sutton, a Southern man, with lots of charm, not from their rich and entitled world.
And here’s where the plot gets convoluted, with lust and rebellion all around, competitiveness and jealousy. There’s a very tasteful, weird and sinful threesome, very mind-boggling. It really made me wonder what the heck they were thinking and feeling. The book ends in a spectacular cliffhanger, with all relations hanging in the wind, destination unknown.
It’s been years since they’ve seen each other. Harper is now an accomplished artist and is getting reading for an exhibit. Christopher is sent an invitation which he surprises her and attends. Her mother and father will both be in the same room at the same time. This event will change their lives forever. We also get to meet Christopher’s business partner Sutton. Now we have two very strong alpha males and a very determined alpha female in the mix. The chemistry between the three literally jumps off the pages.
Skye Warren has taken these characters though such a maze of events. I devoured it within a few hours, reading through my tears one minute and heart pounding scenes the next, wanting to find out what would happened. This book ends in a cliffhanger so be prepared. The next one is waiting in the wings to be started as I type.
I was a little disappointed in this book and how it ended. I was expecting a real menage book and this just wasn’t it.
It was great to return to Tanglewood; the home of Gabriel Miller and Damon Scott! Skye Warren introduces us to two new hot alpha males; this time it’s business partners Sutton and Christopher who fight for the attention of Harper St Claire with passion so hot that it will have the pages of your kindle melting!
I love a good love triangle and this one will certainly keep you on your toes! Like Harper, I’m torn between which one I want to to end up with. Told from a first person POV, the book takes you on a steamy ride with secrets brewing and plenty of questions left hanging needing answers. This book ends in a cliffhanger but then what good love triangle book doesn’t?! Filled with angst and mystery this book will keep you hooked and the pages turning!
I devoured this in one sitting… I mean, I really couldn’t put this book down.
Wow!! Skye Warren.. holy mother of triangle filled angst!!
You had me torn the entire book. I kept swinging for one man then then switching teams to the other.
I was confused. I didn’t know who to believe. I kept reading every sentence expecting a double meaning.
I… I… I’m at a loss on what to say that will give this book the proper gold review it deserves.
You have these two men fighting for Harper. One that steals all of her past the other other trying to take her future. Who is the right man to trust? Who is trying to play games? Those last few chapters in the book had me shaking my leg continuously. I needed to run to the restroom because my bladder wanted to explode, but I refused. I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!
It was definitely a battle field of the richest and the baddest.
And, really?? Another cliffhanger?? It was a good one, y’all! I am anxiously waiting to see where the next installment will take us in this Harper, Christopher, Sutton web.
I also loved that we got to see a little of Warren’s previous characters from her other series.
Last thing I will say is I am 100% #TeamChristopher
I don’t care what he did, he has my heart. I love him!
Survival of the Riches by Skye Warren took me by surprise on a lot of levels. I have read Skye Warren before and always found her books to be uber sexy and well written, quick to draw me in and to want to finish in one sitting. Survival of the Riches was no different. It was very intense and beautifully written. Skye Warren is indeed an extremely talented author and even knowing that going into Survival of the Riches, I was still caught off guard by the story she penned in book one of this duet. I won’t bore you with my synopsis of the story, but I will tell you what I loved. I try to stay away for too many love stories pivoting around a love triangle. I usually find them someone unbelievable because I don’t believe that its necessarily possible to be completely in love with two different people at the exact same time. In lust? Absolutely! But often in the romance genre, triangles are written in such a way that the heroine are in turmoil and have no idea who to choose because she’s sooo very in love with two men. Survival of the Riches at it’s core is categorized as a love triangle, but the way it’s written, well…its unique and has it’s own spin on a love triangle. You’ll have read the book to see for yourself. Our heroine, Harper doesn’t see the relationship between the two heroes, Christopher and Sutton, in the same light as the common triangle. And that really took me by surprise. The dynamics between the characters fascinated me and the angst that built, brick by brick was thrilling in its own way. Although the passion was more on par with a slow burn as a lot of foundation was laid into the relationship between the Christopher and Harper. I fully grasped that since this is book one of a duet. The story really drew me in and left me completely glued to my seat waiting for more of the sparks to fly, as passion constantly simmered just below the surface of Harper’s relationship with both Christopher and Sutton. And in her innocence, Harper has no idea just how caught up she is in both men’s nets. The book really has me dying to get my hands on the conclusion to the duet, The Evolution of Man. I seriously need to know what’s going to take place next in this riveting story. And you will too once you grab a copy of Survival of the Riches!!!
Okay, I need to take a breather right now because ….. WOW, this book just blew me away.
I enjoyed this book so much that I was glued to my device and absorbed each and every word that was written in this book.
Survival of the Richest is my first book by Skye Warren and shame on me for not reading her before because now I have declared her to be on my top go to authors. I love discovering new to me authors especially when they have won me over with their beautiful words and their compelling stories.
I am in bliss right now after finishing reading this magnificent book.
Three wonderful characters with a remarkable storyline that will leave you gasping for more.
When I read a synopsis and/or an excerpt and it has a love triangle involved!! Then this book is definitely for me. I love this trope only because it leaves me shattered to the core and always feel like I am in a dilemma not knowing which way to go or who should stay with who especially when all three characters are wonderful. I love being put in that situation because it just makes it harder for “me” to determine who should stay with who and then I’m reeling at the end with how it ends.
I love getting myself (reading) in these situations because it gives me a thrill. I feel a rush that I don’t feel with any other trope out there. My heart starts beating fast and I am just talking to myself inwards saying “who should she pick or who should he pick” I am at the end of my seat just waiting for the unexpected.
This was a total thrill ride for me and I absolutely, highly recommend reading this book.
Harper may have been a spoiled little rich girl but she wasn’t one to take advantage. Her mother always came first and she would go out of her way to make her mother happy no matter what. Sutton and Christopher were AMAZING in their own way. I was torn both ways because they are so opposite of each other, but both held an immense attraction towards Harper but Christopher also felt the need to be overbearing and protective of her ever since he met her.
I am still trying to get my wits together over here — if I didn’t mention it before, I’ll mention it now or again I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!
5 Survival of the Richest STARS!!
What have you done to me, Ms. Skye Warren??!! My jaw was dropped. My heart break. My emotion is all over. And my head…i need time to actually write this review and i’m still not sure what to write.
Finish in one sitting, this book makes you feels everything. Swoon, jeolous, anger, lust, anxieaty, love, passion. And not to just one man, but two impossible to denied men.
I was torn to choose side. Team ChrisHarper or team SuttonHarper. Cause my oh my these two man sure can make the smartest girl go crazy.
And Skye Warren know how to play that string to reel you in, hooked and sink you until the only thing you want is more.
One woman, Harper St Clair
Two business partners, Christopher’ Bardot and Sutton Mayfair
An old abandoned library scheduled for demolition to make way for a mall
These three flirt with a menage relationship but there is so much more going on. Harper know she has feelings for Christopher but adding Sutton to the mix really confuses her. She also knows that destroying this beautiful landmark is the wrong thing to do but getting both of the business partners to agree on how to handle it seems impossible. When truths are revealed and confrontations are made, Harper ends up walking away because she can’t choose between the two men.
Skye hits another one out of the park. She never disappoints.
Survival of the Richest was an angsty and emotional read that held me spellbound from the first page. My emotions were swept away on an rollercoaster ride I didn’t want to end.
From the very beginning the author hooked me with the teases of the relationship developing between Harper and Christopher. Harper was an interesting mix of innocence with an inner wild child that you can’t help but love. There was so much more to Harper than meets the eye and I loved how both Sutton and Christopher brought her to life in their own ways.
Christopher and Sutton were polar opposites but both men drew Harper’s attention. Where Christopher is constant, proper, refined, and appears cold Sutton is bold, brash, and swept into Harper’s life like a force of nature. The triangle that develops between them is unique and by the end your emotions will have been put through the wringer right along with these compelling characters.
Survival of the Richest was an angsty and emotional read. The author’s gripping writing took me on rollercoaster ride I was unsure of at first yet didn’t want to get off by the end. The great news is there is still more to come for this trio and I can’t wait to see what direction their story takes!
For starters all I can say is WOW! This book was absolutely phenomenal, and I really loved reading it. This book made me breathless, just when I thought I had it figured out things changed. I figured it was going to be another stepbrother love affair but I was mostly wrong. Along with the joy and lusty moments there were some sad and tragic times. This book really hit you in the feels. I’m not too familiar with this authors work but I was blown away. This was a beautiful and full love story with passion and heartbreak. I was kind of left speechless when I finished reading it took me some time to write this. This book is hands down 5 stars and I’d give it more if I could. Very highly recommend. It wasn’t the step brother or second chance romance I thought and I’m very happy to be wrong in this case! – By Tiffany
This was the first time I read one of Skye’s novels, and if I’m being completely honest Survival of the Richest isn’t normally the type of read I seek out. But there’s never anything wrong with pushing past comfort zones and usual routines, and this novel delivered from the first chapter.
Survival of the Richest centers on Harper St. Claire, a girl emotionally older than her years and on the verge of transforming into a woman. Initially, I wondered if her teenage voice was too mature for the character in the story, but my concerns soon faded. Harper’s life could easily be compared to a prime-time soap – family wealth, high society, and over the top drama. She bounces between the households of her divorced parents and endures a revolving door of subsequent step-mothers, step-fathers, and step-siblings. By the time she is introduced to current step-mother, Louise, and step-brother Christopher Bardot, her policy regarding their new relationship is deeply rooted – “I don’t want to mess with them. They’ll be gone next year.”
In this case, Harper is only partly correct. While Louise quickly fades from her father’s world, Christopher holds on. Over the course of several years, a long-distance friendship and bond builds between the two former step-siblings, but despite Harper’s growing attraction and greatest wishes where Christopher is concerned, they are kept apart by one obstacle after another. Christopher comes from humble beginnings and his ambition and his acumen for business drive him to become a self-made millionaire, earning the respect of Harper’s father. From the first time me meets Harper, Christopher is compelled to protect her at all costs and when Harper’s father burdens him with a life-altering responsibility, the job at hand threatens their chances at a future together.
But just when things couldn’t seem any more complicated, Harper is introduced to Christopher’s business partner, Sutton Mayfair. In looks and personality, Sutton is everything that Christopher is not. Despite pining after Christopher for years, Harper notices and appreciates the differences between the two men, and Sutton is immediately attracted to her. He sees things in Harper that she wishes Christopher could acknowledge. What quickly develops is an intense love triangle that made Survival of the Richest unputdownable. I was desperate for Harper to choose the man who was best for her. I bounced back and forth between Christopher and Sutton, wondering if there was one clear choice over another and even questioning at times if she should walk away from both men altogether.
I won’t lie, the ending of this book snuck up on me quickly and left me hungry for more. Thankfully, a sequel is on the way at the end of the summer, which gives me plenty of time to theorize how the story of Harper, Christopher, and Sutton will ultimately play itself out. It’s clear that some of the secondary characters in this book likely have novels of their own, but Survival of the Richest is easily read as a stand alone novel. The chemistry between Harper and her love interests runs the spectrum of loving and intimate to primal and possessive. If you’re in the mood for a passionate read with a fair dose of angst, Survival of the Richest is great choice.
I went into this one totally blind because I find it so much more exciting……and boy oh boy did it blow my mind!! It was a very intense story with so much heat that I’m surprised I didn’t get burned. And the ending was just……WOW!!
Survival of the Richest is Book 1 in the Survival of the Richest Series. We first get a glimpse of Christopher and Harper in Trust Fund. I was hooked immediately when I read Trust Fund. It is necessary to read Trust Fund before to understand what is going on. I couldn’t wait to continue the story to see what happened.
This book grabbed my attention and never let go for a second. The descriptive words Skye Warren uses brings the book and characters to life. “When his lips touch mine, there are a thousand stars lit up.” The words allow you to picture everything going on in your mind, as if you are there living it with them.
This book is a love triangle with a little bit of stepbrother trope that is complicated and keeps you on an emotional roller coaster Christopher and Harper have a tumultuous relationship. There are complications from the start and they don’t get easier. There is a lot of angst which is only rivaled by the steamy sexiness.
This book is unique and captivating. It keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen. There is a lot of angst, sexy times, love, passion that will have you hanging onto every word and flipping the pages as fast as possible. I love that we see Avery & Hugo again from Escort. I like being able to see a continuation of previous characters, and that the stories & characters are interconnected. This does end on a cliffhanger but Skye always make sure it’s worth it! I highly recommend reading it! You won’t be sorry!
Such a captivating read. I couldn’t put this one down because I was so drawn into it. It is nothing like I expected. The writing is wonderful and I absolutely loved the fact that this was such an unpredictable read. The ending has left me speechless and nothing like I anticipated while reading.
The characters are all so likeable. I love a good love triangle and I am loving Harper, Christopher, and Sutton’s story. I am so invested in their story that I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Totally Must Read!!
Happy Reading Everyone!!!
