A little soft porn set in the Regency period. Its short and very readable. The characters are engaging, the story line is minimal, and the ending improbable if romantic.
Heloise seeks to save her cousin from ruin at the hands of Sebastian Cadwell. Sebastian decides to teach Heloise a lesson because she decided to interfere. Both find something neither had intended.
The book is short and has an ended that seems to hurried.
Was a very interesting book.
4.5* Grateful to her uncle for taking her in upon her parents’ death, Miss Heloise Merrill (25) feels obligated to protect her younger cousin and prevent her from an assignation with the rakish Sebastian Cadwell, the Earl of Blythe, by taking her place. Sebastian is a love them and leave them type, but is not cruel. After their one night together, he is perturbed that Heloise keeps entering his thoughts.
I really liked the two main characters and wouldn’t mind reading more about them. There was a positive tension between them.
This is the “light” version of Submitting to the Rake. There is a sexual encounter, but not the bondage. A nice short bedtime story.
