Mellie:Mellie has been hypnotized by a pair of gorgeous green eyes, attached to a very yummy package for months now. Unfortunately for her, her brain goes on hiatus anytime Morris Jackson is around. Looking like a bobble head whenever he asks her anything isn’t the best way to go about getting a man like him interested. Not like ruggedly handsome men go for quirky, accident prone introverts like … prone introverts like her. Plus, even if she did have a snowballs chance in hell with him, him being her brothers SWAT teammate doesn’t bode well for her. A girl can dream though!
Morris:
Those blue eyes sucker punched him the minute he looked into them. It felt like the ground had literally gone out from under him. Mellie is everything that he could ever want and everything that he shouldn’t have. Even if he didn’t know that she’s too good for a guy like him, her brother would never be okay with it. He is over protective and proud of it. But at some point you have to say screw the consequences and go after what you know is meant to be yours.
Too bad someone wasn’t happy for them when the found their way to one another. Someone will make sure they don’t stay together by any means necessary. They’ll even kill to get what they want.

Fun, flirty rom-com with plenty of steamy scenes!
Mellie has the hots for her brother’s co-worker, a fellow SWAT officer named Morris. Likewise, Morris is attracted to Mellie but the bro-code stalls his advances. The story takes the reader on quite a thrill ride with a few exciting twists and turns on the way to their HEA.
The writing is a bit too earnest at times, but overall the characters are well-developed and the book was fun to read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Love doesn’t have a time frame Mel. It just happens when it happens.
This was a good read. It was quite funny and I enjoyed all the characters so much. I just re-read the Rock Chicks series by Kristen Ashley and was in the mood for a more suspense type of story. What I got was the total opposite though there were a bit of suspense with what happened with Mellie and Morris.
I had fun reading Marc and Mellie’s bickering and the others completed all the elements which makes this book more fun to read. I did notice some editing issues but they totally didn’t get in the way of my enjoyment of this story.
So now I’m hooked, Nikki Mays you now have a new fan
*WARNING* contains adult situations
I would have given this book five stars if it didn’t have to many editing errors. The story was great! The stalker was not who I thought it was. The relationship between Mel and her brother was hilarious, but still caring. I could the SWAT team is super tight. All the characters were amazing. I enjoyed the storyline too.
I loved Morris’s character. What a dreamy boyfriend. I though she was awesome in the beginning. Even chuckled at her antics a few times. Toward the end she was so different. I didn’t really like her. The conflict was so predictable. Glad they got their HEA. I also agree with other reviewers that this book needs editing.
I just couldn’t get enough of Mellie and Morris. They are so awkward with each other at first, but once the walls come down. There is love, heat, and humor. The amazing thing about this book is the wonderful set of secondary characters that compliment the H and h so much. The wit and mood of this book is spot on, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the rest of the SAPD SWAT members.

Loved this book! The characters were extremely likebale. The plot was fantastic. It had the right amount of romance, mystery, danger, and laughs along the way.
Mellie and Morris are the sweetest together. Mellie is quirky and fun while Morris was silent and protective. They were honestly too cute together.
I completely fell in love with the hole SAPD SWAT team and can’t wait to read the other books.
My only takeaway with the book was the errors. They were easy enough to look over since I enjoyed the plot and characters but definitely something to mention.
Mellie has been crushing on Morris Jackson since they day she met him. What she did not know though is that Morris wants to explore things with her but is nervous about it. Will two people who are meant to be together take a chance on each other or will the person who is determined to keep them apart destroy it before it starts?
This was quite funny. A ton of characters are involved for future books. I liked Mellie and Morris together, the chemistry sizzles with each turn of the page. Great series have a read a couple of the books.
This was the first book that I have read from this author and was not sure what to expect. So I was going in open minded. In the first couple of pages I was not so sure that this was going to be my kind of book, but I am really glad that I kept going. I really enjoyed reading this book. This book not only had romance, but suspense and mystery as well.

So I had started with the last book Cuffed an loved it so much that I had to start from the beginning and so happy that I did..I have found a new author, Nikki is hilarious and she has definitely found a new fan with me.. So we meet Morris who is attracted to his best buddies sister Mel, and Mellie was so funny..God you have to read this book it was great and definitely put a smile on my face.
She had always wanted him but she was shy and she could not even speak to him. Besides he would never look at her. As soon as he was her he wanted her but he knew her brother would never allow it. Will he take a chance? Will he have her? There is someone who will not allow it. They will even kill to stop them being together. See if they can rise above it all

*I read Book 1 & 2 back to back so this is a review for both*
(I’ve seen a lot of reviews for both books claiming that a good editor would help a lot. I don’t know if I had final versions or ARCs but there were a lot of mispellings and grammar issues. As a regular reader of review copies though, this kind of thing doesn’t really affect me but I wanted to put this out there as a warning to others who may be a little more discerning 🙂 )
There are authors that write characters that could be straight out of Gilmore Girls (I’m looking at you Susan Mallery), always ready with a snappy comment. Then there are those characters who are sophisticated, never saying a wrong thing and who always make me feel like I need to work better at this adulting thing. Mays seems to have found a voice that is like that conversation you have with your bestie after a couple of glasses of wine. It’s unfiltered and sometimes graceless, but it is real for the homespun characters she’s created.
In Surrender to You, Morris has had a thing for Mellie for a while but since she’s his friend’s sister he tried to stay away. Unfortunately, his feelings are pretty apparent and after a while her brother is so tired of his awkwardness that he gives the OK. Mellie is just as dorky when Morris is around so there is a lot of fun to be have while the two are dancing around each other. And it doesn’t stop when they get together because these two definitely have a lot of personality. (Mellie fighting with her brother is the best thing ever!)
Addicted to You is a fun follow-up that has a lot of the same vibe. Damon is a pretty curt guy, but I love the way he and Michelle mesh. She’s so full of sass that it helps bring him out of himself just a bit. I got such a kick out of these two together, and their interactions with their friends are both sweet and hilarious.
The SAPD SWAT stories are delightfully fun romantic comedies with entertaining characters. I enjoyed how the couples got together & watching them piece together a life with each other. The friendships help make it a winner as well. It is quite obvious that Michelle and Mellie have been friends for ages because those two are a hoot together. The guys are your typical guy’s guys – giving each other a hard time, a little rough around the edges – but they have good hearts and are supportive of each other. The lack of angst is a real winner for me and overall I felt the suspense parts, while not a huge part of the story (especially the second), are done well.
The SAPD SWAT series isn’t going be for everyone, but I think that it will be a huge hit with the right audience.
**Review given honestly and freely after receipt of a reader copy. This opinion is completely my own and was not influenced in any way.**
This has been one of the most amusing pieces I have read, and I can’t wait to read more into this series. Actually, I am looking forward to reading the follow-up as I find Damon to be one of the most intriguing members of this group of comedic friends. I totally dig their camaraderie, and knowing that their so close-knit makes it so much titillating! In this first selection, we have Melanie/Mellie and Morris who are both totally into each other but are afraid to approach one another considering the respectful boundary of Morris’s friendship with Mellie’s brother Marc. After getting the sort-of green light from Marc and the boost from the guys, Morris decides to give it a shot and ask Mellie out on a date. As the two gradually follow their hearts and develop a relationship, they are met with several road blocks that result in scary stalker activities. This leaves the group trying to investigate what is really going on as Mellie and her best friend Michelle/Shel are combining their shops and opening into one joint location. This is a most definitely “gotta read”!

Mellie is a coffee shop owner who’s brother is on a SWAT team. His coworkers are hot but Mel has a major crush on one in particular – Morris. Morris has had his eye on Mel for a while but thinks her brother won’t like it if they get together. Finally her brother Marc gets onto Morris for taking so long to make his move. He finally does and they start dating. The interaction between her and her brother Marc is hilarious but after a while it got on my nerves. I get it that Mel is tough but it was mentioned all the time. But I loved the suspense and the love story between Morris and Mellie. Hoping there is a book on Marc. He’s such a player but he needs to meet his HEA. Also want to read Damon’s story. That one is going to be off the charts!!!

A book of suspense, drama, danger, a villain, and a love story with a swat team in the mix. A well-written story that I was not putting down until I was finished. A book I would recommend. This is a new Author who I will be watching out for. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
She is shy, klutzy and hot for him. He is hot for her too but her brother is protective. He decides go for it anyway. Lots of excitement, romance, suspense and so on. Someone decides they don’t like them together. I recommend it. I got a review copy from book sprout and voluntarily review it.
Although I’ve never read anything but Nikki Mays before I absolutely loved this book! It was funny and lighthearted with the back and forth between all the characters and building suspense through out the story. Can’t wait to read Addicted to you!
I thought this book was hilarious. The banter between the characters kept me laughing nonstop. Great switch from the typical romance.
This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed her storytelling. This is a romance with a suspense twist told in dual POV. (my favorite type of story!) I loved the relationships between all the characters. The author spent the time developing everyone’s personalities which makes me eager to read all their stories. However, I felt this book could do with some editing as there were numerous spelling and grammar mistakes as well as to tighten up the story. Some of the inner monologues of the H and h rambled. Looking forward to reading the stories of Morris’ gang and Michelle.
I loved Mel character and how blind she was to the attention she gets from men and how the only man she likes can’t see that she likes him just as much as he likes her. I love the beginning and Morris and all the guys including Mel’s brother. Who is over-protect of his sister but also a pain in the butt for her and Morris at times. This book was funny and sweet all at the same time, it was very well written .
This book was so much fun to read! I busted out laughing so many times and most of it was when Morris was with his friends. Granted they’ve known each other for awhile but they cracked me up! Mellie fit in perfectly and had them laughing so hard they were crying! I love her fire and her passion but man is she dense at times. Things just went over her head so many times. I loved how every one knew but them two and basically pushed them together. Morris and Mellie are hilarious together. Morris is super sweet and very supportive to Mellie. He watches over her along with the rest of the gang. This book has smooth talking cop with moves to match it, a sassy coffee maker with fire under her and a group of friends who will make you laugh so hard. It also has a bit of suspense and drama in it..I did love how the author pulled it all together and make the h show her true strength. Oh and I had to laugh at the name at the end, it was just to funny! This book has everything you love about a brother’s little sister/best friend relationship. I really want to read the next books in this series!!!!
