Wrongly imprisoned whistle-blower Rachel Pierce would rather take her chances with her court appeal than accept her place as the first Interstellar Bride destined for the Colony. She’s stubborn and determined to seek justice—and her freedom—on Earth…but her mates are not willing to risk her life or her future on a system they believe to be both primitive and corrupt.Maxim of Prillon Prime … Prime fought ten long years in the Hive wars. Captured and tortured with his second, Ryston, they escaped only to be rejected by their own people and condemned to life on the Colony with the other “contaminated” cyborg warriors. As leader of Sector 3, it’s Maxim’s duty to set an example for his warriors and summon a bride. When she refuses transport, he can’t allow her rejection to demoralize an entire planet of battle hardened but jaded warriors. Maxim and Ryston transport to Earth where they decide she’s theirs and a maximum security human prison will not keep them apart.
Getting Rachel to the Colony is only the first challenge they will face. Convincing their beautiful mate to surrender to not one, but two dominant warriors is another. Even if they can win her love, a new evil is rising on the Colony and someone close to Maxim will be its first victim. Maxim will be its second, unless Rachel’s love and relentless pursuit of the truth proves strong enough to save him.

I usually read the ‘normal’ romance novels (damsel in distress rescued by a handsome man) but I decided to give this book a chance. Now, I’m hooked! I love the fierce loyalty, the steamy sex, and just the idea of a an alien world nothing like we would expect it to be.
Rachel Pierce had been falsely accused, arrested and imprisoned for a cancer drug trial study that went horribly wrong, killing hundreds of people in the process. Being the lead supervisor in charge of the study, GloboPharma knowing they would lose millions of dollars, fired, discredited and framed her to take the fall; using her notes and research as proof against her. Being a recent PhD graduate in biochemistry, all she wanted to do was help and make a difference and now she sat in solitary confinement, as a whistleblower, waiting for her appeal to go through and the truth to come out. While she sat, rotting away in jail, her lawyer suggested she be tested for the Interstellar Brides program just in case she needed another alternative to prison; if she was convicted she was looking at 25 years, at least. To appease him, she gets tested and surprisingly gets matched. She refuses the match, determined to stay and fight, wanting the truth to come out so her name and reputation are cleared and she can go back to her life.
Prillon warriors Maxim, Governor of Base 3 in the Prillon Colony and his best friend and second in command, Captain Ryston, learn they have been matched through the program and the human female they are to be matched with is in serious trouble and also does not want the match. However, once they find out her life has been threatened, they take matters into their own hands to rescue her.
When two hulking aliens arrive to her rescue she is shocked and wary but recognition flares in her, recognizing them as her matches. She is reluctant to go with them, determined to fight to clear her name, but when she learns her trial is denied and she is to be placed back in gen-pop with a price on her head she reluctantly agrees.
As soon as she is swept away, she is thrown into a world and culture she knows nothing about with men she does not know and has to learn to navigate them both. Getting closer to her mates and learning about her new home, a serious threat hits close to home, threatening Maxim’s life and her newfound happiness. Rachel has to dig deep, find her strength and work quickly towards a solution to save her mate and possibly others from the threat. With everything on the life, can she push aside her doubts of her abilities and find a cure in time?
I truly enjoyed this story. It draws you in from the start and holds your interest. The characters were all strong and likable and the background explanation and storyline flowed well.
