“You think I’m too hot to handle, don’t you, Freckles?”“Maybe a little.”“A little my ass,” he grinned, “Baby, you can’t breathe when I’m near you.”Never in her wildest dreams did Sloane Bailey think Kerr Hunter would look her way. Now he’s offering himself to her in the only way he knows. It’s a hell of an offer for the reticent redhead who fell in love at first sight. She knows from the very … knows from the very beginning she’s in over her head, but she has neither the strength nor the inclination to deny him.
Kerr thinks his infatuation with Sloane is under control. He’s about to discover, when it comes to affairs of the heart, resisting the inevitable is a futile endeavor. However, he still has no intention of surrendering his tortured soul. When his painful past and perilous present collide, Kerr finds himself fighting for more than just his heart. Lives are at stake. He failed once before. He has no intention of letting it happen again. However, with his mind clouded by revenge and fear overshadowing his judgment, can Kerr unravel the tangled network of corruption before it’s too late?

When Kerr spies a beautiful redhead on New Year’s Eve, he thinks she’ll be his next conquest. Never did he imagine she was not only someone already in his life (even if on the fringes) and that she’d be the one to whom he’d give his heart. But when his determined pursuit of her lands her in the hospital, suddenly his heart and his life are turned upside down and inside out. He can’t get the beautiful Sloane out of his mind to the tune of paying for her hospital expenses AND her mother’s medical expenses, but yet not really appearing back in her life til months later.
Poor Sloane has crushed on her boss’ brother forever now. But he flusters her so much that she hides every time he appears in his sister’s shop where Sloane works. To the tune that he never really glimpses her face so doesn’t recognize her that New Year’s Eve. But when the man freaks her out so much that she bolts when he chases after her, and results in landing her in the hospital, she never expects that suddenly the man of her dreams is interested in her. But then he disappears again and she figures her life will go back to normal, never knowing that Kerr still has plans for her, for them. Unfortunately, those plans are not what Sloane has always wanted – the white picket fence and the home and the family and all that jazz. But, she just might take what little Kerr can offer her, even if it means she’ll have a broken heart at the end of their fling.
I loved Surrender! I haven’t read any of the other stories in this series, but it was really easy to figure out what was going on in this one, so it’s a standalone for the most part. Kerr was frustrating as hell, but when his backstory was revealed, I sympathized with him and gave him a big pass even though he had broken Sloane’s heart because of his stupid behavior. Luckily the author didn’t inject too much angst, and allowed Sloane and Kerr to easily come back into each other’s lives. I thought Surrender was fabulous – sexy, emotionally layered with a great cast of primary and secondary characters.
This is the third book in this awesome series and is Sloane and Kerr’s story. Kerr is an ex soldier, who is broken and haunted by demons, and when he and Sloane share a kiss something unleashes inside of him as the walls around his heart start to crumble. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written story which is intriguing, engaging, poignant, emotional, as well as filled with surprise, betrayal, secrets, humorous, and with witty banter throughout. I was totally intrigued and captivated by this story, and I cannot wait to read more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all.
This is the third book in this series and I seriously hope it isn’t the last. As with the other books, Silhouette and Solace it can be read as a standalone, but i’d highly recommend reading them all, simply because i loved them !!
This is Kerr Hunter’s story, a complicated man, a tortured man, one that reminds us the scars and wounds we carry on the inside, leave us portraying persona’s where we function at life but we don’t LIVE it. That is until one New Years Eve when Kerr bumps into his sisters assistant in a social surrounding and completely captivates him. Sloane has had a crush on her boss’s brother for quite a while, but surely with this player she would only be a notch on his bed post right? OH heck no, this man is so much more, Behind those walls is the man of your dreams!
I loved this book, I MEAN LOVED IT! So much more than a hot steamy romance, but yes we sure do get the bedroom goodies!! But this is so much more, two people who don’t seem to match, yet they combust and mould together so perfectly and we get all the giddy butterflies of being the fly on the wall watching these two awesome characters navigate their fall into LOVE! But this author doesn’t stop there, oh no, she then throws suspense and danger at you, leaving you unable to set the book down and gripping the edge of your seat! Lives, Careers, their relationship all hangs in the balance whilst at the same time opening up a whole big dirty can of worms !!
I feel terrible but I really couldn’t get into this book , couldn’t connect with the characters and story line . Surrender is the first book that I’ve read by S.E Cooper there is a possibility that I’ll try re reading this in the future including more of the authors work . The blurb was what really drew me in then the cover but from the first page I just felt like there wasn’t a connection for me . From reading other peoples reviews I see that this was a great book in others opinions and from that I want to give this book another chance because I may have been having a off day . So I’m looking forward to changing my thoughts as soon as I’m in the head space to give Surrender another chance .

Surrender by SE Cooper is book Three in The Hunter Series. This is the story of Sloane Bailey and Kerr Hunter. I haven’t yet read the previous books, so for me it was a standalone book.
One kiss on New Years Eve awoke both Sloane and Kerr to their daily life living. Kerr didn’t allow himself to really feel anything for a women due to past issues. But when he kissed Sloane it lifted his eyes and mind to maybe trying for something more. Sloane seems to like to leave in the shadows but reach out in that moment for this kiss. Now they are dancing around their new feelings and working to find if and where they can lead to something else.
So enjoyed this book…couldn’t put it down!
It seems I’ve been waiting for Kerr’s story for ages, or at least since the release of Silhouette, and SE Cooper did not disappoint! Kerr and Sloane’s story is an intriguing journey into the enigma that is Kerr Hunter and the shy woman who turns out to be everything he swore he’d never attempt again. Along with the push and pull between the couple, Ms. Cooper weaves a story of political corruption and military betrayal that cuts Kerr and Sloane to their very cores. Lies and secrets are revealed. Passion and chemistry are ignited and love and family are put at risk.
Little did Kerr know that the haze he’d been living in for years would start lifting on New Year’s Eve when he kissed the woman he realized was his sister’s sheltered employee. However, Sloane is far from the shy wallflower Kerr thought, she’s as fiery as her red hair. Which intrigues Kerr even more.
I love that Ms. Cooper incorporates the entire family into her stories, so the reader knows exactly what is going on with couples and characters from the previous books. The introduction of Sloane’s mom and sister add another layer of family to the Hunter clan. I adore Sloane’s mom, who might have a slight crush on Kerr. Her sister, Ty, on the other hand, comes with more trouble than anyone should have to deal with.
Ms. Cooper’s writing is fresh, her plots involved and inventive, and her sex scenes smoking hot. Her characters are well-developed and likable. Over the course of the series they have become like old friends and I cannot wait for the next suspenseful read from this talented author.
