A grumpy lone wolf shifter and a hot younger pup in need of a firm hand.Yeah, this won’t get complicated. For wolf shifter Dmitri Sernov, life bites. His late-night hunts leave him winded, the twelfth rewrite of his novel is crap, and his last good lay was five drafts ago. He’s staring down forty with a creative well as empty as his bed.The last thing he needs is a beautiful, intimidating, … last thing he needs is a beautiful, intimidating, obnoxious pup bent on exposing Dmitri’s underbelly…
…and everything else that’s gone soft.

Thierry Marrou has burned every bridge from Montréal to Juneau.
Once a prospect for Canada’s Olympic hockey team, he’s just been kicked off a piddling local squad in Nowhere, Alaska.
But one whiff of the silver wolf on the opposing bench was enough to confirm that the dreams drawing Thierry across a continent have a very real source.
Now all he has to do is convince Dmitri Sernov to be his alpha. Très simple, non?
SURRENDER THE CHASE is the 2nd standalone novel in the GRIZZLY RIM m/m shifter series.
Lace up for pheromone-charged hockey, dirty French lessons, a grumpy hero who thinks he’s past his prime, and a pushy young hothead determined to prove him wrong.
Tropes: age gap (39/27), grumpy vs playful, fated mates, forced proximity
Content Notes: This story depicts sports violence (hockey), and unreliable parents.
GRIZZLY RIM Series

Dmitri Sernov is staring down forty with a creative well as empty as his bed and the last thing he needs is a beautiful, intimidating, obnoxious pub bent on exposing Dmitri’s underbelly. The second novel in the ‘Grizzly Rim’ series starts fun and flirty is a rough and tumble kind of way but soon gets very real with lots of emotionally gripping turmoil and a budding relationship that keeps readers in suspense. The two heroes are strong characters with different personalities and issues that make readers wonder if this romance has a chance to become something more. But along with all the emotional turmoil, there’s lots of sizzling chemistry, super-heated passion that could melt the tundra and some laughs as well, making the story a well-rounded and enjoyable one to read.
The plot is steady paced and keeps readers tuned to the pages as both couples have some vulnerabilities that readers can relate to and then Thierry gets some disturbing news that rocks his world and throws him off his game, which in turn causes a meltdown and relationship woes that could end with broken hearts. Readers can’t help but become caught up in his story as Dmitri and Thierry turn the heat up in Alaska.
Surrender the Chase (Grizzly Rim #2) by Mia West is a wonderful story that I have read. This is book number two in this wonderful series that I have loved reading. I highly recommend this to everyone who loves reading about shifters, LGBT and paranormal romance.

Loved this book. You have a grumpy alpha whose giving up. Then there’s the young fire brand Omega. Will the omega convince the Alpha or will it be too late? Loved the varying emotions of these two beings. Will they embrace what’s in front of them or walk away?
The second book in the Grizzly Rim series a well written story that kept me turning pages. This is 39yr old wolf shifter and writer Dmitri Sernov and 27yr old wolf shifter & hockey player Thierry Marrou’s story. This is a M/M story which I enjoyed reading. I enjoyed reading this sweet, entertaining MM shifter romance. The world-building is splendidly well-done. The plot is engaging & interesting with likeable characters & witty dialogue. There is some good support from the secondary characters.
There is: a mature 39yr old wolf shifter & grumpy writer (Dmitri) with writers block is basically ambushed & chased by a young 27yr old wolf shifter & hockey player (Thierry) who is determined to get his man, some twists, drama, deceit, humor, family issues, friendship, anger issues, attraction, confusion, insecurities, doubts, determination, frustration, advice, jealousy, memories, playfulness, seduction, apologies, confrontations, verbal disagreements, loneliness, heartache, apologies, contentment, love & a happy conclusion with a interesting epilogue.
Another great book in this series!
Dmitri is a 39 yr old author, amateur hockey player, and wolf shifter who was quite the playboy when he was younger. Thierry is a 27 yr old professional hockey player and wolf shifter following his dreams. These dreams lead him to Alaska and Dmitri. They begin a relationship but have a lot of baggage to get through: writer’s block, body consciousness, jealousy, insecurity. They eventually work through their issues, learn to deal with their parents, and have an HEA.

Mias writing has definately peaked my interest. Her writing style and imagination is very open and compelling. I haven’t been a big MM romance reader, but this series has so far been very enjoyable. The story itself, the struggles and emotions within a relationship are the main focus, not the fact both characters are men. Thierry struggles with anger issues and seeking his fate, but once things get tough he runs, while Dmitri puts forth a face in public but is actually lonely and his young wolf opens his eyes to so many things he is missing out on. The dominance aspect turns up the heat, and the growing feeling between them are exciting to read. This isnt your normal shifter read,no super strength, no healing abilities, almost human except for their dual personalities which is really cool to read. I now cant wait to read more.

Thierry slams his way into Dmitry’s life at the tail end of book one and the first impression he makes when he walks into the bar literally blows the door off the hinges.
Thierry is confident in the areas Dmitry is not. He’s also a hot-headed, hard-bodied, twenty something while Dmitry is in his forties, a redeemed man-slut and frustrated writer. Okay, maybe not a man-slut because he is single and there are only so many guys available where he lives.
So I read this story several months ago and didn’t review it. Both men are charming and funny and lovable and definitely made for each other. There was very little angst and I found the whole thing sweet and comfortable so no review. And, full disclosure, I was underwhelmed so I didn’t pick up book 3. This new revision feels like a total re-write and I couldn’t be happier!
The second half of the story is redone and expanded so that Thierry is forced to deal with his temper, his history and his jealousy while Dmitry must decide if he can be a steady, dependable Alpha for him.
I won’t spoil anything but will say, if you read the first version, just let that one go and get this one. Mia upped her writing game by giving us major conflicts. There are bombs dropped, altercations, confrontations and sweet seduction. This book is grittier and sexier and overall still funny. I do miss the scene where Dmitry calls mama Thierry for advice- comedy gold- but the author is right to drop it. This time around everything flows with more purpose than simply mating. Now, both men have demons to put to rest and earn their HEA.

I love this shifter series. In this book, we get to see who Dimitri winds up with, a beautiful young Quebecois pup named Thiery. His dreams have brought him to Dimitri. To a grumpy loner who comes to town to flirt and then back home alone. Always alone. Until Thiery…until love? It’s possible, if they can get their crap in order. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
