From #1 New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken comes the next standalone rockstar romance in her Seaside Pictures series…I had his posters on my wall when I was sixteen and when I accidentally got pregnant in high school–his was the face I dreamt of when I closed my eyes at night. Now, over twenty years later, that dream’s turned into a reality. Not only is Drew … reality.
Not only is Drew Amhurst in my tiny town of Seaside, live and in the flesh…
But he’s mentoring my rockstar son.
Drew says he’s mine for a week.
And he made me three promises.
“No strings attached.”
“No falling in love.”
“It’s only seven days.”
He’s confident that he can help me rediscover myself both in and out of the bedroom, and I’m confident that he’s too arrogant for his own good.
And at the end of seven days, he swears he’ll walk out of my life the way he came into it.
The only problem is, the more I get to know him, the more I want to surrender the last pieces of my heart and beg him to stay.

A great read from RVD. This story about a dark and deeply troubled rockstar and the woman he loves who is extremely self-conscious and doesn’t think she deserves to be loved brings all the feels that a reader expects from Rachel’s stories. This one brings it in spades and will not disappoint the reader.
Surrender by Rachel Van Dyken takes us back to the Seaside, Oregon and the world of the rockers we love. Though this is part of the Seaside series, it can be read as a standalone, though I love all the books I have read in this series and recommend them. In Surrender we get Drew’s story and I loved getting in his head. He is fun, charming, and cocky, but he also carries the demons of his past. Then there is Bronte, who once dreamed of Drew when she was young and is now spending a week with him. The same man who hung on her walls. Talk about having your dreams come true. She had always done what was expected after having her children young, this is her chance to just let go and do what she wants.
Their time together was fun, sweet and steamy. They had amazing witty banter and so much chemistry. I loved watching Drew not only with Bronte, but her youngest daughter as well. Their story was emotional, a bit angsty and heartwarming. They were great characters and the secondary characters will have you laughing. A truly fun and charming summer read!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!

Even though I thoroughly enjoy Rachel’s heavier stuff, this is a great one to get lost in. Sometimes you just need that light, easy, flirty book to sit down and get lost in for the afternoon. Rachel delivered that gem with her latest Seaside Pictures book.
Bronte and Drew are so great together, a lot of the moments left me with smiles on my face while I read each page. Drew was charismatic, Bronte was the epitome of selfless and caring. These two coming together was nothing short of right and true.
While I can’t wait to dive back into one of her darker & heavier stuff, Rachel shined with this book and reminded me that I too, need her lighter stuff.
Rachel Van Dyken is a one click must read author for me! I just have to have all her words and Surrender is no different. Rachel Van Dyken once again delivers a flawless book!
Bronte is a single mother of one son two girls, one in college and the other is in high school. Her daughter in high school also has cancer. Bronte has only ever depended on herself. Her ex husband cheated on her during their entire marriage and never loved her. Drew is frontman in Adrenaline. He’s a recovering drug addict and one thousand percent has a thing for his bandmates mom, Bronte.
This book is so much more than a rockstar romance, it’s about Bronte finding herself. She’s spent the last 14 years of her life putting her children first. Drew comes in promising to get her out of her comfort zone and to be gone in seven days. But the best laid plans are never work, and seven days is not enough.
Surrender had me hooked from start to finish and was a fantastic read. RVD packed it full of laugh out loud moments, right along with the serious moments. I loved the twist in she was dating her son’s friend. It was a small twist on the forbidden romance scene that I’ve never seen before.
Surrender is everything I expect from Rachel Van Dyken with this series. Her writing is amazing, the plot is fantastic and the characters were great. RVD and Surrender is 4.5 star read!
5 EPIC STARS!! This book was EPIC!! I loved everything about this story….Bronte and Drew takes us of a fabulous ride from start to the end with love, sexiness and a second chance. Rachel Van Dyken has won me over as a reader….I am not sure what has taken so long to read her words.
This new standalone rock star romance is the perfect beach read. Bad boy lead singer who wants a second chance with the woman he can’t resist. Steamy, sexy and satisfying!
I love this series, this can be read as a stand alone. This one is my new favorite. I love Drew and Bronte together, they have great chemistry and they both deserve their happily ever after. This book made me laugh and cry. I was hooked from start to finish.
This is the fourth book in the Seaside Pictures series but can be read on a stand alone basis.
I’ve really enjoyed the Seaside Pictures series and on the whole this book did not disappoint. It was a nice easy read and the story flowed really well. It was emotional but as we know with this series, there was plenty of humour and once again the banter between the bandmates and friends was spot on and had me chuckling away. I really liked Bronte and Drew and loved how they were a slightly older couple but for me, there was just something missing which didn’t drag me into them completely.
This was a sweet, swoony read with a nice dash of humour and overall I did enjoy this book and would heartily recommend this series.
I was provided with a copy of this book from the publisher; there was no inducement or obligation and I opted to leave a review.
Oh my gosh I freaking love Drew and Bronte’s story. I swear Rachel’s books just keep getting better and better. This book had me laughing out loud the whole way through, and Drew is so swoon worthy, I was in love with how romantic and suave he is. I have so many highlights because the words were just so beautiful. There were also a few surprises towards the end, one I actually gasped out loud. There was a part that definitely made my heart hurt, but it was quickly mended and had me all smiles and my heart full by the end! The fact that Bronte was Braiden, Drew’s protégés, mom made it even more wonderful. They both had their issues from the past to deal with, but together they helped heal each other. I loved everything about Surrender. I can never get enough of this group of rockstars and the love in Seaside Oregon!
Fans of the series have been waiting for Andrew’s story for a long while and RVD didn’t disappoint.
Absolutely loved Drew and Bronte’s story. And it’s always nice to see a story with older heroes and heroines.
Drew is given a week to try and win of Bronte, the mother of his protege, whom he’s had a serious crush on and found out that she had the same crush towards him.
It was a fun yet seriously heart wrenching story about two people trying to start new lives and leaving their pasts in the past.
The book has the normal RVD humor intertwined with a bit of heartache with a happy ending of course.
Another great book by RVD!
After meeting Drew in the previous book, Steal, I really was interested what his story would be like. There is just something about the antagonist getting their HEA that I really enjoy. The chemistry and attraction in this book burned hot and instant, but I really enjoyed the journey. These two were dealing with their own issues, but really found a connection in one another. It was like everything just fit where is was supposed to go. Rachel Van Dyken did a wonderful job of seamlessly weaving Drew and Bronte together in a way that tug at the heart strings. It was so endearing to read the scenes where Drew interacted with Amelia, Bronte’s daughter. I just felt like this book gave me the warm and fuzzies only an insta-love can give. I’m really happy I picked up the whole series! Thank you to Valentine PR and Rachel Van Dyken for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
Surrender is the last book in the Seaside Pictures series and let me tell you i have been waiting YEARS for Drew’s story! and I’m so happy i could finally read it!!
This is the story of Drew and Bronte. We know Drew from the preview books and we know he used to be a bad boy but he finally accept his mistakes and changed. Now he feels lonely because all his bandmates are in a relationship. He meets Bronte when he choose to be a mentor to a young guy (Provoke novella), and Bronte is the mother of this guy. She is a girl that when she was 16 her life changed because she got pregnant and married with a man who didnt love her and years later left her with 3 kids.
So now she is 39 with her 3 kids older and wants to start living again. and Drew is a big part of helping her with that. Because he has been interested in her since the first moment he saw her. But not everything will be easy, but if you want to learn more about how Drew and Bronte have their HEA you need to read this book as soon as is available!!
The book has everything. romance. sexy moments, really funny moments and some funny text group between friends!
If you have read another books by Rachel you will really love and enjoy this one!!
Drew Amhurst, one of the lead singers, of Adrenaline and Bronte Connors, mother of Drew’s protege Braden, are both broken. When Drew offers to help Bronte through her birthday and anniversary week, the sparks fly between the two.
This book is everything that I wanted it to be and more. From the antics of Bronte’s youngest daughter Amelia to the group text messages between all of the guys, the chemistry between Drew and Bronte jumps off of the pages. This, in my opinion, is an epic love story where both characters heal and repair each other’s hearts.
What a steamy, quick read. I loved it.
Bronte had kids young. Divorced and mostly raised her kids on her own, she needs a break from responsibility. So when her teenage rockstar crush (and son’s mentor) offers to help her get her groove back, she is at a loss. Mostly she is nervous, but still infatuated as ever. Been Drew is only promising her one week.
Andrew (Drew) Amhurst, co lead singer for Adrenaline, is attracted to his protege’s mother. His flirtatious is palpable and he is willing to go with whatever Bronte is comfortable with to help her loosen up for a week. But as the week nears completion, he is reluctant to leave.
So what happens when their one week is over? You’ll definitely want to one-click this one to find out.
SURRENDER is the fourth full length instalment in Rachel Van Dyken’s contemporary, adult SEASIDE PICTURES romance series. This is thirty-six year old, song writer/guitarist for the rock band Adrenaline Drew Amhurst, and thirty nine year old, single mother Bronte Connors’ story line. SURRENDER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Bronte is Braden Connor’s mother (Provoke 3.7).
Told from dual first person perspectives (Drew and Bronte) SURRENDER follows the building relationship between thirty-six year old, song writer/guitarist for the rock band Adrenaline Drew Amhurst, and thirty nine year old, single mother Bronte Connors. Bronte Connors has had a crush on Drew Amhurst for as long as she can remember but now that her twenty-four year old son is currently mentored by our story line hero, Bronte struggles with the possibility of a forbidden relationship with a man whose demons are dangerous and dark. Drew Amhurst’s past is mired in alcohol and drugs, and his addictions nearly destroyed his friendship and membership with Adrenaline and AD2. Three years sober, Drew only has eyes for Bronte Connors, a woman whose youngest child is struggling with demons of her own. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Drew and Bronte, and the potential fall-out as Bronte believes Drew has faltered, returning to the demons that almost destroyed his life.
Drew Amhurst’s daily battles include watching his best friend fall in love with a woman that was once his own but Drew’s addictions threatened all of his previous relationships including his friendships with the members of the band. Coming face to face with Bronte Connors gave Drew thoughts for a future but his past refuses to let go, threatening to destroy his future with the band. Bronte Connors is a single mother who gave birth to her first child at the age of sixteen. With only three years separating between Bronte and Drew, Drew is closer in age to our heroine than he is to Braden, the newest member of their group.
The relationship between Bronte and Drew is once of immediate attraction. Bronte has crushed on Drew since her teenage years, and Drew has lusted after his bandmate’s mother for several years. Reconnecting meant having to get ‘permission’ from Braden Connor, permission that sees Bronte and Drew falling in love with plans for a future. The $ex scenes are limited by passionate and intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including the members of Adrenaline and AD2, as well as Bronte’s youngest daughter Amelia. The texting between members of the band is furious and fun.
SURRENDER is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love. The fast paced premise is inviting and heart warming; the characters are energetic and inspiring; the romance is electric and sensual.
Is there ever a book that Rachel writes that isn’t an instant hit? It’s like she has a raw talent for taking people in her mind as she takes us on a journey of heartache, new beginnings, and second chances. I’m in awe of how incredibly talented this author is. You can just feel the love she has for writing pooring off the pages! If you’ve never read any of Rachel’s books before then you really need too!
Brunte and Drew agree to one week of fun no strings attached to help her “get her groove back”. But can they both do that without forming a bond and breaking each others hearts at the end of it all?
Brunte has only ever been with one man but has crushed on Drew sense she was a teenager and now here he is offering her one week! Can he do this can she do it? Find out in this sweet and funny book!
Surrender was my first venture into the Seaside Pictures world and my main thought was I wish I had caught the series sooner, as I have a lot of books to catch up on now. This book focuses around Bronte a 39 year old single mother to 3 children all 15 and over, she was a young Mum and her life has always been about her kids. When the mentor to her son, rockstar Drew Amhurst shows an interest in spending time with her, how can she possibly turn down her teenage crush and the chance to do something for herself for a change.
What I loved about this novel was that both the main characters were in their mid – late 30’s and neither took themselves to seriously. It was a lighthearted read full of great chemistry and witty banter courtesy of Drew. He was a really likeable character, despite his reservations over his past (which I am guessing we see more of in the rest of the series). Drew is a selfless character, he sets out to give Bronte a birthday weekend she won’t forget and it turns into so much more.
Surrender is full of witty banter, tongue in cheek humour and bags of chemistry between hero and heroine. One stand out relationship was between Drew and Bronte’s youngest daughter. They built a friendship that shone through the whole novel, and gave me some of my favourite moments. The whole Not- Your-Dad thing kept a constant smile on my face and I fell for Drew even more.
Rachel’s writing was fantastic, well paced, with a great plot and wonderful characters. As I said at the start of my review, I would love to read more from this series, and I was happy that Surrender could be read as a true standalone without feeling like you were missing things from not having read the other books that have come before it.
Surrender by Rachel Van Dyken is book 4 in Seaside Pictures series. This is Drew Amhurst and Bronte Connors’s story. This can be read as a standalone read.
Drew and Bronte are two lost and broken souls. Drew is this rockstar whose completely burned out, haunted by past deeds, while Bronte was this young single mother who feels like she let her life pass her by. Bronte was in love with Drew during her high school years , I mean, his poster hung on her wall. Now her son, Braden is his protégé.
Now Drew secretly had a thing for Bronte but she was off limits…but now? Now she might be on the table. What happens is a beautifully written story of two souls who are broken yet their broken pieces fill the others holes. What was supposed a week affair turned into this exciting, captivating, intriguing, sizzling, and fantastic read. Drew and Bronte are two great people who will have you rooting for them all the way.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
Wow! I love this book! Drew and Bronte’s story was so amazing! Sweet, sexy, and adorable! Bronte’s girls add to the sweetness and I LOVE IT! I love everything about this story! FIVE STARS!
