There’s a fine line between lust and hate.I don’t care that Drew Merritt spent the last year transforming himself from grungy slob to sexy playboy. With messy, dirty blond hair and gorgeous eyes, his looks aren’t the problem. His mouth is.And the stupid things that come out of it.But after an emergency strands us together, and he does his damnedest to take care of me… Let’s just say there’s one … care of me…
Let’s just say there’s one thing we don’t clash on.
And it doesn’t involve talking.
I’ve despised Drew since I met him years ago. One weekend can’t change us that much, can it?
Spoiler alert: It doesn’t.
Except he left me a little keepsake.
And in nine months, I’ll have a surprise for Portland’s most notorious player.

There is something magical when two talented authors write a book together. And more when they release another one, it’s cosmic. I’ve read Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam first collaboration in All about D and I was blown away and now I’m left with a BIG book hangover. Surprise, Baby! is a book gem between the enemies-to-lovers-romances. It was a sweet, funny, addictive and a little bit emotional read that had me up past my bedtime. I devoured every page like a ravenous bookworm. I couldn’t put it down until I finished the last page wanting and aching for more because it was so damn good.
Drew really surprised me. He captured my heart from the beginning. In the past, he was a player but he changed so much. He is driven, successful, funny, possessive and very protective. He is a piece of sinful art. An Adonis with a beautiful heart. He is the kind of book boyfriend to will send you to the moon. One of the things I loved more about him is that he doesn’t give up easily. He fight for what he wants and he wants Kendall.
On the other side we have a beautiful, clever and ambitious businesswoman, aka Kendall. She is the type of woman I want to be when I grew up. She is focused, loving, caring and very professional. She didn’t like the past version of Drew, the playboy although his look were impossible to ignore. But an emergency and lots of snow could change that. She will meet the man Drew is now, all changed and she will really like that new version of him.
It is wonderful hot Drew and Kendall fit together like two pieces of puzzle. They make a great couple. He being easy-going and she being the thoughtful one. That is a strong combination that pours more passion and unconditional love.
This book is a complete package of hilarious perfection. Drew and Kendall’s romance is explosive. It started with serious chemistry hidden under their hate-you-relationship and we see how that hate turns into something much more fun and intense. The interaction between those two is unpredictable and their attraction is scorching hot. The ups and downs, figuring up the place in each other life and the transition from enemies to lovers is quite an outstanding journey that will warm your heart and will make you shake like a little leaf.
Slick…slapstick…snazzy. such is the mood and narration of this latest from L & L. Two of my fave authors. It’s full of witty banter, Insta attraction and swoonworthy moments. I was laughing most of the time
Kendall Greer and Drew ‘Demerit” Demeritt are like Vaseline and sandpaper. They grate on each other’s nerves….at least that’s why they project. But insides they seem to melt whenever they’re near each other. She’s responsible and he’s a playboy
I have no idea why Evie insists Kendall was so much fun growing up. That Debbie Downer’s got a stick so high up her ass, it’s lodged in her brain. She’s constantly telling me to fuck off or arguing for the sake of arguing. If I say her dress is white, she’ll say it’s cream.
Eye roll.
Needless to say the feeling is mutual. She thinks he’s frivolous and manchildish
One fateful day while driving together to a mountain cabin, they get stranded in a storm and ……
What happens on Mount Hood, stays on Mount Hood.
Electricity crackles and the passions erupts and the aftermath is gonna be here in nine months
Swimmers go to motherland and erect a flag
I enjoyed reading the story, some hilarious lines and their chemistry just blew me away
4 stars for butt-babies
An enemies to lovers trope with laugh out loud wit and banter. This was such a fun read with so much humor and holy hotness I could not put this one down. Kendell and Drew were perfection!
Job well done, standing ovation!
I devoured Drew and Kendall story like my favorite bag of salty flavored chips. I am a huge fan of enemies to lovers stories, and with an addiction of lots steamy scenes, funny situations and dialogues I closed Surprise, Baby with a wide smile on my face. Then started crying because I would love to read this story again with a clear mind.
Kendall is a successful, strong and independent businesswoman, work first then family plan. She has amazing friends and parents. But there is one person, who she can’t stand… and his name is Drew. For very good reasons.
We meet Drew as a recovering playboy. From his memories, we get to know his drink hard, bang harder lifestyle. But enough is enough and a life threating situation caused a strong change in his personality and behavior.
Kendall and Drew’s mutual friends suggested a common weekend getaway in a cabin. Kendall just wanted to spend some time with best friend Evie and Drew redeem himself in Kendall’s eyes. And fate so helped him, because they stuck together in a snowed house for a whole weekend.
I didn’t know Drew as a party animal (I have to) but I loved so much his new sweet, funny, naughty, grandma boy and hardworking side. First, very skeptic Kendall started to see Drew in a new light, as a friend and then lover. Their interaction during the weekend in a cabin was so funny to read and the chemistry sparkling between them made my cheeks burn. But what happened in a snowed cabin didn’t stay in here.
Drew and Kendall have to deal with the real world, little surprise and their feelings toward themselves. Can they be something more than lovers? Did Drew really change? Can I have a Tristan number?
Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam created a light amazing story. I laughed so hard, swooned like crazy and drank too much cold water. Surprise, Baby is a great story for one night. Of course, there were ups and downs because Kendall and Drew were thrown in at the deep end but I loved their mature behaviors. And this is a thing a love the most.
Surprise Baby is a companion book to All About The D enemies to lovers story.
During this book it allowed a completely different side of Drew from All About The D. He was a slob and not an all together great guy but now, he is put together and polite, but doesn’t lose the dirty mind, thankfully. And after a health scare Drew pulls himself together, except for his ‘manish’ ways.
Kendall is a business owner with a no nonsense attitude. She has no time for games, vacations, or a relationship. An opportunity arises for her to take a trip with her BFF Evie and her husband and she jumps in with two until she realizes she has to get there with….Drew.
Will this trip be the best thing for them or the worst?
This book was so amazing. I loved every moment of it. I laughed so hard at times I was in tears. This book was fun and silly with all the romance you would expect from Lex and Leslie as well.
I would recommend this book to anyone.
This. Book. Rocked!! I LOVED this book! Enemies to lovers are some of my favorite books…and this book just moved to the top of my list! Kendall and Drew have history…a bad history. But then….ha! I’m not telling! I love how badass Kendall is-not just some helpless female. I love how Drew can open up and be sensitive with Kendall. I love everything about these two!! I will admit that I stopped reading multiple times just so I could make the book last longer. I can not recommend this book enough!!
Kendall and Drew mix about as well as oil and water. Trying to tolerate one another for Thanksgiving weekend to spend it with their best friends in their mountain cabin, these two learn all sorts of new things about one another. Can they actually be friends after being enemies for so long?
Wow! What a fabulous enemies to lovers story! These two love to bicker. Kendall is so full of sass and Drew is so determined! I loved every twist and turn of these two character’s journey. You will laugh out loud. Your heart will overflow with love for these two amazing characters. AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ!!! #phuckifino
I was beyond thrilled to see that Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam were teaming up again. These two write romantic comedy like I breathe and this enemies-to-lovers romance had me laughing and shaking my head and fanning myself in equal measures.
There was something so charming about the reformed playboy. Maybe it was the way he interacted with his Bumble. Maybe it was how hard he worked to be his own person. Build his business and not just rely on the fortune of mom and dad. But I mostly think it was the way he treated Kendall. Like a queen. His queen. If only she’d let him be. And Kendall was no slouch. She worked hard for everything. Though she stumbled a time or twenty she always dug deep and did what was necessary to chase her dreams.
Cue a snowstorm. A bottle of wine. Attraction. Giving in. Mayhem. A lack of communication. Misunderstanding. Consequences. Two meddling best friends (whooop Josh and Evie). Some groveling. A truce. A lot of sexy times. Catching feelings. Fears. Another lack of communication. Jealousy. More groveling. Grand gesture…
From start to finish, Surprise, Baby was fun and playful and so sexy. Drew and Kendall, despite all their faults were just so right for each other. Kendall showed him what a family could be. She gave him focus and a future to be hopeful for. In return, he brought laughter and more disorder into her hectic life. It was just what she needed. And that ending was everything these two deserved and so much more.
Surprise, Baby! by Lex Martin and Leslie McAdam is the complimentary novel to ‘All About The D’ and Drew and Kendall’s story is a brilliant addition to what I’m hoping is going to become a series.
I thought Josie and Evie’s story was great, but Surprise, Baby, topped it by a huge marker. I absolutely loved it. Although there was one point where Drew Merritt deserved his ‘DeMerritt; nickname. I kinda wanted to kick him in the ba!!s. But, thankfully, he pulled his head out of his a** and got his act together.
There’s a ton of humor here, with a barrel load of chemistry that these two have been fighting against since they first met. He was a bit of a drunken bum, but he’s been forced to change his habits and has turned into one sexy hunk of a ma. Kendall, soon finds this out when the are trapped together in a snowy mountain cabin.
They turned into the perfect compliment for each other and watching then navigate the aftermath of that weekend, but heartwarming and sweet. Minus, poor Drew’s parents, ugg, what a pair of douches they were.
This was a very passionate, electrifying and intense enemies to lovers romance. I highly recommend it to any reader from rom/com – enemies to lovers and everything in between.

What a fun, surprise baby story!!! From the beginning, sparks fly and jump off the pages in Surprise, Baby! by Lex Martin & Leslie McAdam. The chemistry between these characters is just fantastic.
This is an enemies-to-lovers romance and is a branch off of the All About the D. story. Each book has its own couple and this one is all about Drew and Kendall.
This is not just an enemies-to-lovers story, oh no, there is so much laughter that the rom/com is just as much a headline. The bust-out-loud laughing moments and the serious side of this story blends so well that you will breeze right through the pages.
Kendall is beyond stressed. Starting her own business is not easy and late hours and no breaks cause havoc.
Drew is Portland’s most eligible bachelor and a hot one to boot.
The past couple of years has put Kendall and Drew at odds and at each other throats, to say the least. But when their BFF invites them to a cabin, Drew and Kendall become stuck because of a snowstorm. What could happen? Nine months later a special delivery can !!!
This book is a whirlwind of laughter, hate, disappointment, lack of communication, hormones and all that other good stuff!!! So well written. Great collaboration of authors.

This was a fun fast read with lots of sweet moments. Drew and Kendall had amazing chemistry. This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. I loved All About the D and knew this book would be just as good.
If you are looking for a sweet romance that will have you laughing and swooning the next minute look no further. Surprise, Baby was a one sitting read for me that I couldn’t get enough of.
I highly recommend!

I’m probably in the minority but I loved Drew when we met him in All About The D. He was like a car crash waiting to happen. In Surprise, Baby we see him in a different light.
Drew and Kendall know each other through their best friends (who’s story is featured in All About The D…read it if you haven’t already!) but they’ve never got along. Kendall thinks Drew is a slobby, arrogant, immature player. He as an ability to push all Kendall’s buttons. When they get stuck together for the weekend they have no choice but to play nice. Which to Kendall’s surprise is made all too easy with this new Drew she’s been stranded with.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Drew so it was no surprise that I loved him even more in this book. Kendall was surprisingly easy to like and her and Drew’s banter had me laughing out loud. The chemistry between them is off the charts but is it enough when they find out there’s a surprise on its way?
Surprise, Baby is another fantastic rom com from these two authors. I can’t wait to see what they’ve got for us next.
I kindly received an arc for an honest review
The story about Kendall & Drew is kind of an enemy to lovers trope. They both know each other a while now, but Drew is more the player, women fall to my feet, I can drink a lot kinda guy. But some life changing things happened , and he needs to clean up his act. Which he does. Radically.
KK and Drew get stuck in a cabin through a snow storm, and what happens in the cabin stays in the cabin. LOL.
A lot of misunderstandings, make up scenes, and a lot of laughter contain in this book. I really liked it.
It’s written in a DPV, which I like best, and has a HEA. What else do you need?
I totally recommend this book!
I really loved All About the D, so couldn’t wait to read this one!! I was not disappointed, it is fabulous – it has a bit of everything in there, all rolled into one making a fun, romantic, sweet, heart warming and emotional read.
Kendall is a workaholic and runs her own PR business with her male best friend, she is a strong, independent, successful woman who has put her ideas of a family life on a back-burner in order to get her business running successfully.
Drew is a reformed playboy / party animal – drink, women and food in abundance were his, until a a life threatening problem made him put his life in perspective and get himself in order. He stopped the partying and drinking, got fit and healthy and changed his lifestyle. But his reputation precedes him, he was always in the limelight for misbehaving, even though now he has changed his ways.
Kendall and Drew have mutual best friends, so they have known each other a while and always push each others buttons and really do not get on well with each other. But they both get an invite to their friends’ cabin for a weekend but end up snowed in by themselves for the whole weekend, just the two of them!
I loved Drew and his cute, funny and sexy ways – he really does try hard to show Kendall he has changed. She struggles to see Drew in a different light at first, tentatively they become friends before making the leap to lovers. Their chemistry and antics in the cabin were funny and explosive, and fate took a helping hand in their life that weekend!
Can Drew and Kendall step up to the plate and deal with what life is about to throw at them after spending just a weekend together?
A great read, I really enjoyed this, watching this couple through their ups and downs! Highly recommended reading.

This was a fun, cute and hot read. A great way to spend a few hours. The characters are written well as is the story.
I thought Surprise, Baby was spectacular! Remembering how Drew was in All About the D to the way he is in this book is an amazing transition. But I guess almost dying will do that to a person. And then there’s Kendall, being all high and mighty not wanting anything to do with Demerit. But how things change. When Drew and Kendall are put in a situation that is beyond their control, things get pretty steamy. They decide to start over and be friends. Kendall realizes that Drew has changed and is really a sweet, considerate, funny and smart guy. And Drew realizes that he would do anything to have Kendall. Throughout their shenanigans they get the surprise of a lifetime. I just love how these two came together and how they supported each other. There may have been some misunderstandings, but they worked their way through them. This book reminds us that people can change and that life is not just fun and games. There is dedication and responsibility that Drew and Kendall both seem to handle just fine as long as they were a team. I really loved this book and I think you would too!
Leslie McAdam & Lex Martin totally nailed it in Surprise, Baby!! This enemies to lovers/rom com has everything you could possible want…a hardworking woman, a reformed manwhore, snarky yet witty banter, and sexy times that will steam up your Kindle!
I became curious about Drew and Kendall back in All About the D and I could not wait to get their story!! Surprise, Baby! had me laughing with Drew & Kendall’s snarky, yet flirty banter, swooning with delight at their tender and sweet moments and yet wanting to throw my Kindle across the room when they just could not get their communication down! I adored this book and just could not put it down until I hit that very last page! This book seriously had all the feels and I loved every moment of it!
Funny, heartfelt enemies to lovers story with a lot of heart.
The title says it all, but how the story evolved had me enjoying this book…a lot!!!
Well written, easy to follow, this book is the second in the series, and although I had not read the first one, I had no trouble following it as a standalone.
The one liners and the banter between Drew and Kendall was sharp, on point and hysterical!!
I could honestly see 2 people saying to each other what these 2 say to one another. Their chemistry was natural and how it played out was delicious. Even the secondary characters especially Bee were delicious!
Told in dual POV, I was front and center to the hilarious, swoony and often poignant moments between Drew and Kendall.
Getting stranded leads to a moment that has lasting consequences.
What happens and what they do shows another side of them that made this story a real page turner!
Drew is know for his partying ways and good looks but he hides a secret
Kendall is a great business woman who can get the media to go with her and one thing she does like is Drew ways and put them together and they fight and rub each other the wrong way till they get stuck somewhere together and another secret happens
Drew and Kendall don’t get along but a trip with friends has them staying in the same place. A storm ends up with them together for a night. What can one night hurt? Oh, baby the couple is in for a surprise. This was a funny, sexy story with witty banter between Drew and Kendall. A good read.
