A new STANDALONE romance from New York Times bestselling author Jana Aston Have you ever set out to have a one night stand with a sexy stranger? No? I’m the only one?Just kidding, I would never. Ever. Not usually. But then I figured, why not? My entire life I’ve been good and it’s gotten me nowhere. No job. No apartment. No boyfriend. I’m owed a little fun, aren’t I? A reward for being good.Sure, … a little fun, aren’t I? A reward for being good.
Sure, a new pair of shoes would be more appropriate, but Mr. Sexy Stranger is more appealing. And when he speaks—in that British accent—it’s a done deal. Every American woman has a hot British guy fantasy. Well, most do. I haven’t taken a poll or anything, but I’m pretty sure it’s a fact.
Except…
You know that saying about best-laid plans?
Good, because I don’t either, but I assume they go awry.
Like my one night stand…

Sure Thing was so cute, funny, and steamy! I absolutely loved my first Jana Aston book. Violet was so funny, and definitely relatable. She was a bit of a worrier and it was hard for her to loose control at times. She definitely went for it when she met Jenkins, the hot British billionaire. The whole twin switch was so funny and can’t believe Violet was able to keep all the lies straight. It kept me entertained the whole time. The narration was perfect! Jason Clarke with a British accent was so swoon worthy! He was incredible and it definitely did not sound like him. His portrayal of Jenkins was spot on and brought all his sexy, Britishism to life perfectly. Erin Mallon is just wonderful in all she does. she fabulously brought Violet to life and and her inner monologue was so funny. I loved every minute of this audiobook. I can’t wait to listen to Daisy’s story.
Grab the audiobook: SO FUN! =D
Audio Review from 2018
Adorable! I very much enjoyed the back and forth of these two characters.
Violet struggling hard to be herself while playing a role.
Jennings being his charming self and not letting her squirm out of his sight.
I really enjoyed them and the end was hilarious. Very on par with the two characters
This was delightfully hilarious and dirty. I was cracking up through the whole story.
Violet has been laid off from her job and is in need of a new one. When her identical twin sister convinces her to swap places for 2 weeks at her job as tour guide, she meets a handsome British stranger at the bar and had a one night stand. Plot twist, he’s on her tour. Since she gave him a fake name, she thinks she’s in the clear. But Jennings isn’t shy and is determined to have more with “Rose”, now known as Daisy.
This was such a fun book to listen too. I loved the storyline of adult twins switching places. It was such a different storyline.
Erin Mallon was fabulous, per the norm. And I was so surprised by Jason Clarke‘s British accent. It was perfectly posh and believable.
The first book in the Best Laid Plans collection, SURE THING is the Violet half of the Violet/Daisy twin sisters. She meets Jennings while she is taking Daisy’s place at her tour guide job.
The story is full of half truths and omissions making both Jennings and Violet suspicious of the truthfulness of the other, but even so, they cannot resist one another. Violet is particularly pained by the whole deception aspect because she’s always been the rule follower. So it is humorous story of errors and misunderstandings amidst passionate nightly encounters and stolen time together.
It is an enjoyable book and Daisy’s story is happening at the same time, but we don’t find out why she ditched her job until the next book.
AUDIOBOOK REVIEW
I loved this story. We read and discussed it in a book club and we all enjoyed the antics. Violet cracks me up but Jennings was right there with her. The banter and wit. He was so sexy. I loved him.
Highly recommend
What a fun book!! This was my first Jana Aston story and I love her writing style & humor. I was halfway through reading when I saw who the narrators were & bought the audiobook to finish. Erin Mallon is always wonderful, but let me say, I would be a very happy girl if Jason Clarke did more of his narrations with a British accent. It was so good!!
Violet and Jennings have a one night stand becomes so much more. This book has many funny moments and many steamy moments. Their relationship is complicated by deception that causes some trouble. In the end, when the truth is unraveled, they finally get their HEA. I enjoyed this book and was inspired to find their story after the couple makes a brief appearance in “Good Girl.” I was especially amused by Violet’s swoon over Jennings’ British accent. She is a goofy character that I liked. Her loyalty to her twin allows her to get in this sticky situation and I look forward to reading her twin sister’s story to see the other side. Jennings is a bit of a man child who figures a few things out over the course of the story. Overall, I liked and would recommend this book.
The fab thing about Jana Aston is, she knows how to write a fantastic book. Her guys are ridiculously hot (and Jennings being British and saying all those British phrases automatically ups the hot factor by like ten stone- is that right?) And her gals are cute and adorable without being obnoxious. Do you realize how hard that is to do? Many have tried and precious few have succeeded, and Jana really does it the best. I loved Sure Thing. Being an identical twin, it really made me laugh at times. My sister and I never did anything like this, but now I regret that we didn’t push it a little when we were younger and could have gotten away with it. Anyway, I loved it, 5 stars, brilliant love.
So I read Plan B before I read Sure Thing so I had some ideas what was happening in Sure Thing but it’s it’s more fun to read Sure Thing to get more details on what is actually happening with Violet (pretending to be Daisy) and Jennings throughout the tour that Violet is being the tour guide for.
Violet is the more responsible of the twins. Violet’s the planner whereas Daisy is more outgoing and in the moment. However, things doesn’t seem to be working out for Violet since she’s unemployed and living on Daisy’s couch at the moment. When Daisy convince Violet to pretend to be her for the tour because Daisy had an emergency situation she had to deal with, Violet lives in fear of being discover that she’s not Daisy and think that she will be in all shorts of legal trouble. Before the tour starts, she decides to let loose and have a one night stand. This is where Jennings comes in because she picks him up at the hotel bar because he is hot and has a British accent. Violet loves things British! They have a wonderful time and Violet is so excited and proud of herself that she’s moving on from her ex and doing something for herself. She leaves Jenning’s room the next morning thinking they will never see each other again.
Oops, Violet is surprise when she sees Jennings is part of her tour group. Jennings is there with his grandmother which Violet then assumes that he’s sponging off his grandmother. Violet is torn between having a fling with Jennings and trying to avoid him. Obviously it doesn’t work and they decided on the fling. Throughout the week, Jennings tries to get to know Violet but Violet has to juggle the act of pretending to be Daisy the tour guide but wanting Jennings to know who Violet truly is as a person. Violet is just a fun and crazy as Daisy but in her own way, which I found to be endearing. Jennings knows that Violet is hiding something and he tries to figure out it and gets his cousin, Rhys (who we get more of in Good Girl) involved in pulling personnel file on Daisy.
Of course what’s a fun romance without some kind of miscommunication and misunderstanding. When Jennings doesn’t show up for the last group dinner, Violet thinks he skipped on her. When Jennings comes back to the hotel after making sure his nan is ok at the hospital, he thought that Daisy had moved on with the tour bus driver. Violet is hurt and angry with Jennings but after a talk with Daisy, she decides to go for a job interview in London.
Meanwhile, Jennings is in Las Vegas trying to get over the betrayal from Daisy/Violet and we get more of Rhys and Cannon (one of Rhys’ best friend and head of security). Cannon comes through with more information for Jennings and we get to see Cannon’s sense of humor and the torture he put Jennings through helping him get back to London. If you haven’t read Good Girl and Good Time you need to read these 2 books and see Cannon’s twisted sense of humor.
Once Jennings and Violet are in the same place, Violet finally figures out who Jennings really is and she also figures out that Jennings figured out what her secrets were during the tour. It’s great to see these 2 crazy people finally be on the same page and start their relationship being who they really are.
Delightful!
I’ve been hoarding Jana Aston books for a while and finally took a break to read one. Anybody that knows me will understand my tbr is utterly out of control and will not blink an eye, there are a lot of us with this affliction. So now here I am reading Sure Thing and am completely enchanted. I adore Violets inner dialog and blabbering her thoughts. She is delightful! I adore Jennings calm and go with the flow nature. He’s naughty and I like it. Again, he’s delightful! Their rapport is stuff of movies. I could see this book being into a movie like Sabrina or Leap Year. That would be awesome!
I’m a huge fan and this book has earned the fifth star! I will be telling all my friends to read it. Now, I’m off to find out what Daisy was getting up to on her week away.
I’ve read this one three times and listened to the audiobook twice. I love it that much!
I loved this book! Jana Aston’s style of writing is so crisp and fun. I love her adorably awkward and quirky heroines. And her heroes are always swoony and perfect. The storyline was fun with all the mix ups and secrets. I can’t wait to read the next book!
Okay, so I read Plan B first and enjoyed that story. Good thing these stories are standalone although of course, you know Daisy will end up with someone. But having said that Sure Thing was short and I was not happy about that.
Yes Sure Thing is cute, and the banter back and forth is funny, and the whole book is delightful. But for me, this is more of a KU book than a buying book, especially when the book is only 67% and then you are reading two books you are not even wanting. I was lucky enough to borrow this book and be able to read it that way. I would be mad if I had paid 3.99 and found this out.
Jana is a new author to me, one that came highly recommended to me and one that I will definitely be reading more books from; in fact, next is Plan B. If you’re looking for a fun sexy read with a quirky heroine, a sexy brit for your hero and one sinfully hot one-night stand, then this is the read for you. The chemistry between these two was so freaking hot that it could possibly make your book combust from the explosive heat these two were emanating. I laughed, smiled and cheered these two on while hoping for one alluring ending to such a “Sure Thing”!
A good laugh out loud read. Violet pretending to be her twin was entertaining as both are so different. Her first foray into ‘being like Daisy’ is to have a one night stand to help get over her recent break up. She meets a sexy Brit, Jennings, and accomplishes what she set out to do. However, fate finds them on the same tour bus. Both are keeping secrets from one another. Their relationship blossoms but how are they going to come clean……
Entertaining, steamy romance story.
I loved this book. They meet in untraditional circumstances and then they we stuck together for a week each hiding a big secret from each other. It was enjoyable journey and a fun ride.
Loved this book!
Love it. God read. Thanks
Loved this book. Highly entertaining
