From USA Today Bestselling author, the second book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team SeriesIf you don’t love, you can’t get hurt…Nick KeplerOne thing my childhood taught me was never show my emotions. Don’t make memories. Don’t count on other people. Don’t hope for the best. All that changed when I was adopted by Ryan and Whitney Kepler. Begrudgingly I let them into my life, along …
Begrudgingly I let them into my life, along with my new sister and a best friend I would lay down my life for. But giving up my heart and accepting love in return from Kelsea Harrison? It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever tried to do.
And the truth is? I’m not sure if I’m that strong.
Kelsea Harrison
From the very moment I met Nick Kepler I knew he would be the love of my life. Problem is I haven’t been able to convince him of that yet.
When our best friends get married, Nick and I spend a drunken night letting our walls down and losing all our inhibitions. In one moment I’m given everything I ever wanted. Then, in the blink of an eye it’s taken away from me.
The question is, can I be strong for the both of us?
The answer? I have to be.

I absolutely love Laramie and her writing. This one shows just how well she can write. I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end. Gripping lovable characters a great storyline. A moment where I had to hold my breath not knowing what was going to happen. This one is about Nick and Kelsea. Nick is a police officer who had a very rough child hood until he was adopted until a better life. But the past still haunts him to where he doesn’t know if he can love anyone. But Kelsea is a whole different story for Nick. Things change between them when he deals with a little boy that is in the same situation he was in. Will these two make it together or will someone tear them apart? Will Nick be able to get over his past and be happy? I absolutely loved Nick and Kelsea together. These two have amazing chemistry. This was one amazing storyline very well written enjoyable characters
Finally we get Nick and Kelsea’s story and I would suggest having a few tissues handy. In this book Nick confronts his past in the shape of a little boy who is in the same position that he was at his age. Kelsea has quite the challenge in making Nick see he is worthy of being loved despite his unstable upbringing. As usual the gang is all there supporting these two every step of the way. I’m ready for what’s next from this series.
Oh my god! Grab tissues! Laramie Briscoe is going to hit you right in the feels with this one. It never fails when I pick up one of her books I’m totally hooked, but Nick and Kelsea’s story? It’s a whole new level of gripping. I was more than just hooked, I was utterly captivated by their deeply moving journey.
There is so much raw emotion with these two. I cried from my heart breaking, I cried from sheer joy, I cried from how absolutely beautiful their love is. Everything with these two is just so much more. Their love, their hearts, their strength all of it is next level amazing. Suppression is hands down of Laramie’s greatest books.
Nick’s story was everything and more!!!!
Laramie takes a story and makes it memorable. She’s not afraid to write about subjects that other Author’s may not write about because it’s a touchy subject. It may not be easy to read but she will give you a HEA.
I cried while reading and I am crying while writing this review. Nick and Kelsea story wasn’t easy but damn did they work hard for it. You have to read this series. Its a must. Your missing out if your not reading Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team. I need more!!! Thank you Laramie for your words and bringing these characters to life!
A story of love, acceptance and worth.
Nick was adopted into the MTF family but he never felt worthy of the family that embraced him.
Kelsea, grew up to be strong and independent and she always knew that Nick was her “person”, now she has to convince him of that and have him accept her love.
This story seriously had all the feels: the undercurrent of friendship; the slow burn when their eyes locked; the love of their family and the need to hep others. Every scene was a moment bringing them together. “Our little moments are my favorite. “~Kels
This book deserves all the stars. It has ALL THE FEELS.
I was so happy to see Kelsey fighting for their relationships. Her quite strength was her best quality. I loved her even more when she stepped up and decided to help Nick rescuing Darren. Nick was a complex man to get to know. He had a tough life and that had me wanting to crawl inside the book just to hold him. I could see why Kelsey loved him the way she did.
This book was amazing. It had me shedding a few tears, laughing out loud but most of all it had me wishing I was a part of this large family.

I have to be honest – if I could move to Laurel Springs I would in a heartbeat! I have loved every book in this series and Moonshine Taskforce, but I really do believe Suppression is my favorite! Nick’s story has a heartbreaking beginning, but the ending is beautiful! Kelsea’s love for him is what epic romances are made of. This story broke my heart more than once, but the HEA was worth EVERYTHING! There will never be enough stars for this book or this series! LOVED!!
This was a very heart felt read. If you have read this authors MTF series then you know all the characters in this book and it’s like the characters cake full circle. My heart felt for Nicks past and I love that Kelsea was there for him. It was fast pace and steamy but the steam wasn’t a huge focal point. It was about family, overcoming your demons and living the life you deserve. It was a very fast paced story and there are times that I wish things were more detailed when it came to the time jumps but it was still a great read. 4 stars #2OCCJD
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Nick’s story broke my heart. We totally get to see what he is the way he is. I’m glad he found a strong woman, who didn’t give up on him. This story warmed my hear. Especially with Darren. This story was great. I felt like there was so much build up for this book from Ransom’s book and the author clearly didn’t disappoint. Nick and Kelsea’s chemistry was off the charts and she really loved him and was able to make him overcome his past. Great read and great addition to the series. Hopefully we see Tuckers book next!!!
Nick has not had the easiest life and letting someone like Kelsea in has been near impossible no matter how she makes him feel. When a little boy reminds him of himself and he will do anything to help him, even letting the one person who has always been there in behind his walls. Wow! This book broke my heart so many times over. After reading Ransom I was dying for Nick’s story and boy was I rewarded in this story. So great that I never wanted it to end. Highly Recommend this book, series and author.
BOOM! Holy crap is all I can say. I was so happy to get Nick And Kelsea book and I will admit a little apprehensive to as I wasn’t sure how Ms. Briscoe was going to top her last book. I should not have been worried at all. This was even better then I thought it would be.
If you enjoy reading books that keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting more, this is for you, as I for one was riding the Briscoe Roller Coaster and loved every second of it.
So sit tight in your seats, raise your arms up high, scream/cry your lungs out and enjoy the ride!! You wont be disappointed with Suppression!!
I seriously love the entire MTF family. You can cuddle up and be apart of their family in every one of Laramie’s novels. This one had the same affect. You fell in love with premise, the characters and especially the devotion between the families. There was only one negative for me. And I really hate to point it out because I sound mean when I try not too. Nick had some childhood issues. Yes. He had some demons that affected his relationships and how he approached them. However, when he had his episode with Kelsea it disturbed me. Only because not too long after that incident, (mind you he didn’t seek out additional help) he was deciding on a huge life decision that would impact Kelsea and Darren. The same issue could have occurred with Darren or Kelsea again and the circumstances could have been much worse. Anyhow. I know it’s a book and the words behind it reflect the author and her creative talent. I am in no way able to produce a novel this fantastic. So I will leave me opinion alone. I love all of Laramie’s books. Sometimes, something stands out and I have to address it. Mostly because, I too, was a foster child and demons are an actual thing and so is the healing process along with professional help.
4 STARS
I think this was the best one so far. I loved Nick and Kels story.
You could actually relate to the characters.. Love it
Wonderful story. Great series. Unforgettable characters.
Another winner from the author. I’ve been a fan since the beginning with these characters and now their kids are grown and having kids of their own. One big family. Most of the time happy. All of the time behind each other.
Kelsea has had a crush and felt love for Nick. He’d been a friend but never let it go further. He has a dark past. Still, he came into the light when he was adopted by the best family who loves him the same way they love their daughter–who is besties with Kelsea. So why not let the past go?
A friend who pointed me to the book before I realized it was coming out told me how ironic the story is. Perfect description but you’ll have to read to find out. Can Nick get past his past? How about Kelsea, will she be able to hold out for him to find his way? Then there is another who wants to put a permanent barrier between them.
The best reason in the world comes into the picture. Can doing the right thing remove all the barriers? Steamy, emotional, great characters and storyline. A book not to miss.
Amazing story, Kels and Nick just goes to show you how life and love can turn around when you lest expect it to!! When shit happens is usually when people take a long hard look at life and find out what means the most to them.story line was great , must read 5 stars love the story it’s self!!
What a wonderful story. The feels, OMG the feels.
First let me say this series is second generation so if you want to meet the parents check out the Moonshine Task Force series. Laramie Briscoe does these families and their histories proud!
Kelsea has had feelings for her best friend’s brother forever. Nick feels it’s safer not to show his feelings or get too attached. Kelsea is tired of waiting and decides to try and get her man. This will not be an easy task as Nick is still dealing with demons from his childhood. This story unfolds at a wonderful pace and I was enraptured with it. There are many ups and down and some very emotional moments. I was especially to get a couple of extra POV’s in this one that really helped you understand how close these families are.
Great addition to the series.
Suppression by Laramie is another amazing read. Nick and Kelsea’s story is one of so much love by one but one thinks they cant give the other what they deserve. One is willing to give it all and do anything that needs to be done. Now they really need to come together to help someone that needs them. Will they be able to come together and see that they can give it their all and make it work? Laramie pulls out all the feels in Suppress she does an amazing job with their story you will fall in love. This is a must read.
I have yet to be disappointed in anything that I have read of Ms. Briscoe’s and this book definitely did not disappoint with Nick and Kelsea’s story. The pair have danced around their feelings for so long I was glad that they finally gave in and got their HEA. Their story was a roller coaster of emotions as we learned more about Nick’s past and his demons. Kelsea acted on her feelings for Nick and then was such a strong character in that she was determined to stay by him despite his continuing to push her away when his demons surface. The pair were so well written and the chemistry between the pair was palpable. I enjoyed the return of the characters from the previous books as well as the few chapters that were from Nick’s parent’s (Whitney and Ransom’s) perspective. I could not get enough of their story and I look forward to seeing where this series will go next. I would recommend this book to others.
Laramie Briscoe killed me with this book, I mean I knew Nick’s book would not be all hearts and flowers because if his past but wow.
Kelsea has loved hi for a long time and they finally take it to the next level but now with a little boy involved it goes to an even higher level.
When Nick is hurt on the job it makes everyone think long and hard about what they want out of life.
I loved Nick and Kelsea’s story and you will too.
I was only semi prepared for all the emotions I went through while reading this book. This book did not disappoint. With the Heaven Hill series it was a lot of drama and suspense that might not always happen in real life, but with this series it is all real life situations that you can’t help but feel all the emotions when reading. Nick and Kels are so good together but Nick’s childhood has left its scars. It takes an almost tragic event to help him move past his demons but when he does it is beautiful. I love this series and I hope for more!
