What does an ex-military, a vampire, a phoenix, a wolf shifter, a fae, and a witch all have in common? Nothing… other than being handpicked to save the world.May the Gods save us all. If someone had told young, ex-Delta Force Ethan James, that supernatural creatures were real, he would have laughed. See to believe was his motto, until one day he was kidnapped by a being that could only exist in … that could only exist in dreams… or nightmares. Taken to a place where having extraordinary abilities is the norm, he’ll be offered the opportunity of a lifetime.
The Supernatural Taskforce Academy—or STA as it’s known—is an elite academy for witches, fae, shifters, vampires, and every other class of supernaturals with exceptional skills. But what the heck does STA want with a human? An ex-soldier at that?
Renna Blackwood doesn’t play nice with others. She might have a mean girl reputation, who snubs her nose at the rules, but with skills like hers, she has rightfully earned every ounce of that reputation. She is a bleeding vampire for God’s sake. So, when the council assigns her the task of awakening new members for the academy, Renna isn’t the least bit surprised.
Until she sees who her partner is…
A mortal. With a heartbeat.
Swell. This should be fun.
Supernatural Taskforce Academy is full of magic, mythology, college drama, and romance. Scorpion Blood is the first book in the addicting upper teen fantasy series that will keep you glued to your kindle!
16+ Recommended due to strong language and sexual content.

Once I started the book I couldn’t put it down I really enjoyed the beginning of Ethan and Renna story. There is so many different twist in here I love that there is a mixture of Supernatural in here,
Ethan is so Fearless and runs headfirst into Danger and Renna is right there along with him she’s so independent and doesn’t want anyone to save her and gets upset if that happens lol. I was so excited when I found out Stephany and J.l.Weil we’re writing a book together I knew it was going to be amazing I cannot wait for the next book to come out and see where the chemistry goes between Ethan and Renna and how they are going to save the world go SCORPION .
Scorpion
How many book boyfriends can I have?, because I just got a new one and he’s human!!!
This is a fantastic start of a new series where humans, supernaturals and mythology came together tu create an amazing world, full of magic, action, romance, wonderful characters and an evil threat so powerful and feared, a special force must be assembled to finally defeat it!!!
Scorpion and Renna are made for each other, they are wonderful together … Can’t wait to meet the rest of the team, I think Catina will like the new guy
I do not think it is possible to love a late teen book more than I love this. It has sass, vulnerability, irony, mythology (not the ‘steal the name and pretend you know what you are doing’ but the kind where the author did actual research and used it to enhance the story), action, and so many different types of humor. A vampire allergic to cats and hates mosquitos. A god with ten arms that likes to fist bump. a werewolf that ironically seems more like a scardy cat than a werewolf. Toss in a human, demons from the underworld intent on revenge and seers that only tell you just enough to survive and it adds up to make one hell of a book. I borrowed it on KU, sat down, and proceeded to read it until the end. There was no stopping. It was a work of art. We get to know the characters and connect with them while at the same time feeling the urgency of their mission. I cannot wait to read the next book and find out what happens next. I think the team might be kidnapping another mythical creature that we do not see enough of in books and that is all I will say.
I DID NOT FINISH this book, let me tell you why.
I felt that thing were overly explained or overly described. With the excessive words, the book became boring. I tried to finish this, I push myself to read this, but at 50% …..I nodded off and dropped my kindle. This isn’t the book for me.
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
I have read many books by the talented J.L. Weil, but this was the first book I have read from Stephany Wallace and it was wonderful! These two combined came up with a unique storyline that is face-paced and keeps you entertained from beginning to end.
The first character we meet is Scorpion, the human ex-military man. We quickly jump into the action and it keeps going from there. The book jumps back and forth from Scorpion and Renna’s POV. Next Renna comes in. She is a Vampire attending the academy. Eventually, these two meet and it is history from there. There is so much chemistry between these two it is captivating.
I loved reading Scorpion Blood and I can’t wait to see what will happen in book 2.
Scorpion Blood is an amazing collaboration by Stephany Wallace and J.L. Weil and I loved it! STA – The Supernatural Taskforce Academy is an elite academy for supernaturals all with exceptional skills, trained to be the best of the best, to protect humanity. This is a fast paced book that grabs your attention right from the beginning full of action, danger, suspense, romance and a dynamic group of characters: Renna a badass Vampire, Scorpion ex-Delta Force human, Witches Tricksy & Catina and Wolf Shifter Oliver. I can’t wait to see what’s in-store for the team in the next book of the series Mystic Blaze!!!
Do you like Supernatural stories? Supernatural Taskforce Academy: Mission One, Scorpion Blood by Stephany Wallace & J.L. Weil is the book for you!!
What would you do if someone told you that the creatures that bumps in the night are real? You would’ve laughed, wouldn’t you? Ex-Delta Force Ethan James, is one of those people who doesn’t believe it until he sees it. Supernatural creates, hah! Not real.. Or so Ethan thought, until he was kidnapped by the very creatures that only exist in his dreams. Taken by the Supernatural Taskforce Academy, he doesn’t know what’s he’s in for.
Renna Blackwood has a bad rep, not known to play nice with other people and doesn’t play by the rules. The council assigns her a task to awaken new members for the Academy… not a surprise, but then she meets her new partner.
This is a great read! I really enjoyed the chemistry between Renna and Ethan. The story line is fantastic, funny situations/reactions, and some major hotness going on! A definite must read and I can’t wait for the next book!
This story is very well written and the story plot is great. Scorpion and Renna are totally fantastic. I love the connection between them and the fire they have. The world of supernatural creatures
This book was absolutely fantastic!
It was a different type of academy story with supernaturals and humans.
Renna is tough, she takes no crap, and is snarky and willful…. You will never know what she will do next….
Which keeps you on your toes at all times…
Can’t wait for Book 2!!
I will admit, it took me several chapters to get into this book. I couldn’t relate to the characters or story at first, but I stuck with it and after the first five or so chapters, I began to enjoy it. Scorpion is interesting in that he accepts the idea of the paranormal rather quickly. I get that he didn’t want to be under the thumb of his father and grandfather anymore, but things seemed a bit too easy in his split from them and his responsibilities as a Secret service agent. Renna has her moments when you really like her and then want to throttle her in the next sentence. I am curious as to how the rest of this series is going to play out.
This book is amazing.. fast paced and full of action from the beginning to the end.
I loved the characters. Scorpion “Human”, Renna ” Vampire” ,Trixie “Renna’s good friend and a witch” and Catina.. a witch that is new to her powers.
Scorpion (Ethan James – his real name) is a Ex Army Special Forces Commander who is now attending the Supernatural Task Force Academy.
Renna Is beautiful and strong.. but becomes vulnerable to a certain somebody when she meets him..
Trixie the best friend to Renna is a witch and she is bright when it comes to her magical skills.
Catina is a witch andfresh to her powers because they were freshly awakened in her and she is unsure of how to use them..
I loved reading Scorpion Blood and I can’t wait to see what will happen in book 2.

This is the story is the start of something totally unique I see endless possibilities for these characters N this world! I’m beyond excited for what will come next can’t wait for book 2 Mystique Blaze Mission 2!!!
What does it take to save the world? Who would be on your team? Would you select a Vampire, Witch, and a human? Well the STA did and this is their story.
Ex Delta force commander Scorpion is an unlikely choice being human but his unique skill set makes him perfectly qualified.
Renna is a vampire with a bad attitude, no friends, and only relies on herself. Can she trust a human? Can she allow someone else to lead when the world is on the line?
Such a great start to this series and I’m already jonesing for more. I can’t wait for book 2
This was not anything that I was expecting. I have read books by these authors before but never like this. They took so many fantasy elements and smashed them up that’s it’s hard to say which is the most prevalant.
I enjoyed the main characters and the mix of the authors. They did such a great job bringing their individual touches to one crazy new series.
When I started the book I thought “ugh, this isn’t my kinda book.” Before I knew it I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and then…. it was over. Strong leads and well written story line make this the first of many on my reading list!
I loved, loved, loved this book! I can’t wait until the next book comes out. The characters all have a great chemistry together, so I look forward to seeing them grow together. Totally action packed, and new spins on old characters (vampires, witches, fae, etc.). I’m glad it didn’t fall into the 200 page range books, this one was more substantial. I haven’t read anything of Stephany Wallace that I didn’t love, and this didn’t disappoint.
This is one of those “academy” books That isn’t really academy. The academy part is minor… Still, it’s one hell of a ride! I loved it. It was very action packed and I loved getting to know Scorpion and finding out how this taskforce is getting started. I can’t wait for more!!!
Such a fascinating and exciting start to what is already starting off to be a great series. Love the intriguing story and the dynamics of the characters already introduced. Can’t wait to see where this series takes us with its flawless writing engaging content.
I really enjoyed this book, it was not your average Academy book! I read this book in one sitting! I liked how Weil and Wallace were able to seamlessly meld their writing styles! Ethan, is a human who is pulled into the supernatural world, to help save the world, and lead a team of supernaturals! Great story!
“Scorpion Blood” is such a fun book to read. Authors Stephany Wallace and J.L. Weil did a fabulous job creating this new world and academy. The characters are well written and unique. The chemistry between some of them is hot and fun to read about. Ex-Delta Force Ethan or known as Scorpion is a fun character to read about. Much changes in his life and he takes it with a bit of humor and self-confidence. I look forward to the next book in this new series.
