Maddison James is about to discover some truths about the world. Firstly … supernaturals exist. WTF? Secondly … she is one, even though no one seems to know exactly what kind. Double WTF. Thirdly … she’s about to go back to school. Well, things just got a little more interesting. The Supernatural Academy is where shifters, vampires, magic users, and fey are educated. Where they are taught about … fey are educated. Where they are taught about their abilities, and how to function in the human world. Maddison already has the human part down, but this supernatural thing is an entirely new dangerous game.
Example one: mean girls who can actually turn you into a frog.
Example two: Asher Locke, a god at the Academy. Not literally … well, who knows for sure. He certainly acts the part, as do all of his minions who worship him.
Asher drives her crazy, because apparently gorgeous and arrogant is her thing. Sparks fly between them, and the more they’re thrown together, the more Asher is determined to figure out what’s been blocking her abilities.
Until the moment the truth is revealed, and they find out nothing in this supernatural world is what they thought.
Including each other.
Supernatural Academy is 105k words, full length urban fantasy story. Recommended 17+ due to language and sex scenes.

So, I was super stoked with this trend that is going on for academy books. Like I am the Harry Potter generation, exact same age as Harry when the books came out and so I started trying to consume these like crazy. I was immediately disappointed by a lot of the poor storytelling 2D characters and poor writing until I finally found this one. This is exactly what I was looking for and more, the best academy book I have read by far PLEASE give us the next one soon, I am desperate!
This is the first book by Jaymin Eve I have read and it certainly won’t be the last. The cover of this book portrays a more mature version and I was curious to see how that concept might show in the storyline. A good map at the start of a book can really help some readers-the map shows the components of the school to include: Demi-Fey Academy, Vampire Dorm, Atlantean Mansion, Fey Dorm, Commons Area, Water World, Magic User Dorm, Shifter Dorm, Herbalism, and Classrooms. With a wide range of supernaturals to keep my interest, how could I not find the storyline interesting? Jaymin Eve’s version of a supernatural academy is certainly one of a kind. It did not feel like the same old story from other books I’ve read. Each of the books we have reviewed based on a supernatural academy was published within a few months of one another this year. This is clearly a popular theme right now. However, I felt this story had interesting twists and the complexity of the world she built helped to set it apart. A clear difference was the inclusion of a group of powerful supernaturals from Atlantis, which brought another level of complexity to the hierarchy of supernaturals. It certainly was action-packed. I felt like there was always something happening to keep me in the story. Each part of the story was relevant and helped to build on the characters profiles while also giving the reader a bit of a treat. It is truly a complex story demanding the readers full attention to really be able to even try to predict the outcome of the immense drama in the book. I felt like this book was good in length. It didn’t feel too long, yet it was just enough to tell a complicated story of a vast world of supernaturals. I did not find myself wondering how many pages were left. I was simply enthralled to find out where the story was going and how this book would end. I am uncertain how many books will be in this series, but I anticipate the story is complex enough to warrant several more intriguing books. I have just started exploring her writing and I am excited to read the continuation of this series, as well as, explore her other series. We all know by now that I love a good series, especially when it comes to anything fantasy related! There is nothing better than a book free of distractions from poor writing or weak plots. This book delivers for readers. I would definitely recommend this book to readers. However, I felt like the drama in the book is meant for a younger crowd or adults who enjoy drama from a younger crowd. It certainly felt like high school for young adults. I do think this is meant for more mature readers who can deal with adult language and sexual situations. The language in the book is certainly meant for a more mature audience and there are a few sexual situations.
This book has been a wild ride. Filled with twists and turns and new discoveries the storyline evolved rapidly. The world building and character development truly pull you into the story. I’m left craving the next book.
This is the first book I’ve picked up from Jaymin…I’m not familiar with her other work. I stumbled upon this book via the amazon recommendations and picked it up. While I did enjoy the book I felt like in some parts there were cubes of RH. I was a bit hesitant to continue reading when I got to a part because I wasn’t sure where it would lead too but thankfully no RH in the book. This book is mature it does have some graphic sex scenes so for younger kids I wouldn’t recommend.
Overall the book is interesting and it kept my attention to see what happens next as I did like the MC.
Maddison doesn’t know anything of the supernatural world, her one goal, up until the supernatural comes looking for her, has always been survival. Now thrown into a world she never knew existed, survival is just a little tricker. Oh my gosh, I just love this book so much! This is a fun read that leaves you wanting for more, I can’t wait for book 2!
Can’t get enough of this new series, Can’t wait for the next book to come out…. Hearing Late Summer Early Fall…
*** No Spoilers ***
When I started reading this book, I had a hard time keeping interest. I kept reading for I am a fan of Jaymin’s books. I’m so glad I did keep reading. Jaymin did an excellent plot with this book. Maddie is the female main character and she is a hard core woman who isn’t afraid to stand-up for herself. Of course there are the “mean girls” that try to give Maddie problems. This book has excitement, adventure, and love.
I highly recommend this book/series.

OMG another amazing start of a series by Jaymin Eve. Set in the world from the Supernatural Prison series, this series and book one, “Supernatural Academy Year one” is set at an academy to school and train supernatural beings. I am really enjoying this new side of the world author Jaymin Eve has created. Maddison James the main character finds herself whisked away to this academy all the while finding out that the life she was living wasn’t really who she is. Maddison is a strong, sassy character that has had a hard up bringing and finds a home, love in friends, and some really hot guys who will protect always have her back. The storyline is fun, unique, and addicting. It’s almost impossible to stop reading once you have started. Excellent story and character building by author Jaymin Eve. I really looking forward to the year of “purple”.
Let’s start this review with my absolute love of the cover!! It’s stunningly gorgeous!! It makes you want to dive straight into this world!! Maddison is one very loveable character!! You get all these feels for her very early on. She has had such a rough life and everything has been such a hardship for her. Yet, she is not bitter or snarky in the least. Most certainly, she’ll stand up for herself and those she loves, but she doesn’t resort to violence first. It was almost heartbreaking to see her realize that she had friends! I wanted all of those good things for her because she so deserves every single one! The Atlantean Five are so drool worthy!! They each have such differing qualities and characteristics. I love how the plot unraveled itself!! Reading this was thoroughly enjoyable and I’m incredibly addicted. Ms. Eve always creates such rich worlds where the imagination she has applied is truly stunning! I was utterly floored by some of the descriptive scenes and seeing it all how she wrote it was mesmerizing! I love, love, love this truly talented lady
Super Hot Funand Eye Opening For Our New Supernatural!!
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
Maddison is living one year to the next on the move, after her Mum was killed. She’s had a tough life but has made the best of it. This New Years Eve, her 22nd birthday, she’s doing her annual birthday ritual of dying her hair!! Just after she’s finished a stunning woman pops up behind her & tells she needs to go with her She’s then taken, against her will.
Once they arrive at the Supernatural Academy, Maddi finds it harder & harder to deny what the lady, Ilia, told her – Supernaturals definitely exist & she is one of them even if no one knows quite what she is – yet!! She meets the Headmaster’s daughter, Larissa – a Vampire, and they hit it off immediately, and along with Ilia Maddi has found her first true friends!! The 3 women become like sisters over the coming months. They help guide her in their world & Maddi realises she feels truly feels at home for the first time. Learning all about her new life & world just clicks with her!!
Asher, Jesse, Axl, Rone & Calen are the 5 guys that are seen as God like by the students. Jesse is a lion shifter, Rone is a Vampire & the others a magic users but it’s Asher that is the powerhouse. Everyone wants to be in their orbit but they stick together like brothers They are all descendants of Atlantis and Maddi feels a deep pull towards them, beyond how hot they are! They take an interest in her too, especially Asher!
I really enjoyed taking in Maddi’s excitement at her new life & world. Her friendships developing & her slow discovery of her blocked powers!! Her budding relationship between her & the Atlantean guys was good, I thought Jesse may view her as ‘more’!!
For the YA readers – there is a lot bad language, which didn’t bother me at all, throughout this book. The characters are 22 yrs + after all. There are also some extremely hot & detailed steamy scenes towards the end of the book!! Again, I’m only pointing this out in case YA readers wish to avoid it!! I, personally, enjoyed having a more adult take on this Academy craze that’s sweeping supernatural romance lately, which I thoroughly love by the way!!
An enjoyable, sexy & character driven read!!

Supernatural Academy: Year One by Jaymin Eve a five-star read that will make your wishes come true. This was so sublime, I am so desperate to bring on the year of the Purple, Pink was just that amazing that I couldn’t put it down. Maddi shows us that its not always easy to show your true colours but if you can then its worth it. Each of the boys will show you their true worth, making you fall a little in love with each one for different reasons, but Asher would have you swimming the farthest oceans. The thing is that its not just the boys who make this story but the camaraderie and companionship that makes the characters come alive for me. Jaymin Eve has long been a one-click author for me, and this series shows all of the promise of being another great series, possibly one of the best.
THE BEST!!! … I can’t believe Jaymin wrote a book better than the previous ones, but she did it!!!… Supernatural Academy is AWESOME, Maddi is an amazing girl, whose life has been hell on Earth, but she is so strong and resilient, you are going to love her right away, she doesn’t take sh*** from anybody, she won’t yield to the bad girls, neither to the hot guy who own the school… Her life in now upside down, uncovering secret after secret, she is barely keeping up… Fortunately, she finds two amazing friends, who will stand by her side, no matter what… Guys you have to read this book, there is not enough words to describe it, A MUST READ!!!
