Nothing could have prepared the Catesby clan for the unexpected passing of the family patriarch, Earl Joseph Edward Catesby. On the day of his death, in the blink of an eye, the lives of one woman and her six grown children changed irrevocably. The matriarch Countess Margaret Lilias Catesby was now a dowager countess; her strength and maternal duty the sole driving force pushing herself through the grief.
All six of the Catesby children are left to carry on their father’s legacy, shown physically through their father’s green eyes and spiritually through his impassioned attitude for living. Eldest son Francis had barely a day to cope with his father’s death before the title of Lord Catesby was immediately thrust upon him. With Francis assuming ownership of the estate and his five siblings left to sort out the pieces, each must now find a way to navigate the world without their dear father’s guidance.
Will siblings Francis, Emily, Helena, Sophia and the twins, Charles and Henry, be able to move forward into society and proudly carry on the Catesby name? There’s only one way to find out…

This was an ok read for me. There were times I was fully engaged in the story and other times I was not. I think others might enjoy it more than I did. I am not sure if I would read more books by this author or not.

Wonderful and thrilling
Very pleasant escape reading. The story arcs are identical and the villains are a bit cartoonishly evil (which is why I can’t give a 5-star rating) but the Catesby family members are attractive, likable people who all get an appropriate HEA.
I really enjoyed the first 3 books and I loved all of the books!!! If you want some great reads these are a start!! I can’t wait to read the rest!
This is an interesting, entertaining and romantic series about how each member falls in love and deals with life. The men are intriguing, strong, generous and protective. The ladies are interesting, brave, caring and sweet. I loved all of the storylines and how what each character did affected the others.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Sweet, clean Regency romance collection. I’m so glad to have all of this collection in one place! Lord Catesby dies suddenly, leaving his six children, Francis, Emily, Charles, Henry, Sophia and Helena Catesby and his wife Lady Martha. Life is completely changed for the family, and this seven book collection shows how they love and support each other through abuse, love, and mourning, and the adventure/misadventures of eventually find love and happiness. Each book focuses on a different family member. I suggest you read the books in order, as she builds each story upon the other stories. I, myself, read one of the books out of order for an ARC a few months ago, and it’s much better having the full story. There’s a bit of everything in this collection- drama, mystery, intrigue, great characters, and lots of love and romance! If you’re a lover of Regency romance like I am, this is a great collection for you!

After the death of Earl Joseph Edward Catesby the Catesby children are left to carry on their father’s legacy.
this collection of stories follows the siblings as they confront danger, mystery and intrigue as they search for romance. The series ends with the adventures of widow Lady Martha Catesby. A very enjoyable read for those who like books in a series.

The whole series all together!
I am really glad the whole series has been put together into one volume! The stories of all 6 of the Catesby children are included, each with their own book. Francis, Emily, Helena, Sophia, Charles and Henry, plus a story for their mother, the Countess.
First is Emily, the oldest daughter, in an abusive marriage. I didn’t like that a new romance developed before she was divorced from her husband. Even though he is pretty evil, she is still married and shouldn’t be kissing another man. If there were no extramarital hugs and kisses, I’d give a 4 or 5, as is, it bothered me enough I give this one only 2 stars **
Next up is Charles, this one is great. I always love the “nerdy” characters! In his father’s will Charles was given the town house where he discovered a lovely squatter, and a relationship developed. I liked it, 4 stars ****
Third is Helena’s story. This one is more of a mystery and gets most interesting toward the end. Can’t say much more than that without giving it away. This one also gets 4 stars. ****
Fourth is the story of Sophia. This is the most improbable one probably, but super enjoyable, who doesn’t like a secret like David’s? Makes for a fun story, 4 stars. ****
Fifth is Henry’s story. While I don’t think it is very realistic that a young lady of Lauren’s social standing would be running away to the woods unescorted all of the time and the pacing was a little slow, I do like the story, 4 stars ****
Sixth we have Francis, the Earl himself, who as is usual in these kind of stories, the titled brother’s story is saved for last. The basic plot of the story is extremely similar to another Regency novel I have read, however there are enough differences that the story is it’s own, 4 stars ****
Last is the Mother, the Countess… not going to say much about this one, except that it is fun! The “Scandalous” ones are always the most fun. I give it 4 stars. ****

This is the box set of books surrounding the pasting of the Earl of Catesby and the life’s of his six grown children and his widow after his passing. Each book is about each child with each one being a little different. Well written stories and great characters.

Lady Emily’s Escape
It’s a very quick, fairly sweet read. I can’t call it light because the abuse of one’s romantic partner is an abomination, especially when the one being abused has no recourse to escape. I didn’t feel like there was quite enough story for me to fully connect with the characters. The ending is as expected; the only way for Lady Emily to escape and keep her good reputation. It’s well written and a good escape for an hour or so.
Charles and the Intruder
Not quite as short as the first book, but still a very quick read. I felt like I had a little bit more connection to the characters this time around; the story itself is more focused on Charles and Abigail rather than the rest of the Catesby family. It’s still very sweet and much lighter than the first. This time around, a little bit of intrigue is introduced through Charles’ friend Richard Livingstone and his mysterious recent activities. I’m very curious to see where the series takes us next.
The Mysterious Lord Livingstone
I’ve wanted to know more about Lord Richard since we first met him. I was sure there was more to him than what appears on the surface. And there is. Quite a lot more. I loved watching Richard and Helena get their chance, since they’ve been pining for one another for what seems like forever. This book has some wonderful intrigue and suspense as well as some moments that left me laughing out loud. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for the rest of the family.
Lady Sophia and the Proper Gardener
This is absolutely adorable. A fast and fun read with a secret identity and all the chaos that comes from that situation. Sophia’s angst over her attraction to one of her brother’s servants hurt my heart to read. And David’s reasons for assuming a new identity were a cross between tragic and giggle-inducing. I was so glad to see that there was a solution available to them where the villains were the only ones punished.
Mr. Henry Catesby and the Rebellious Redhead
The scholar and the hoyden. For two such apparently dissimilar personalities, they have much more in common than either would have guessed. Searching for ways to escape the matchmaking of their respective families, they stumble into each other. Sweet, solitary Henry has been one of my favorite members of the family all along. Possibly because his personality call to my own introverted nature. I’ve never been a fan of manipulative heroines, and the way Laurie ‘plays’ Henry in the beginning kind of soured my opinion of her. When Henry turns the tables and manipulates her in the end, it pretty much balanced the scales for me.
Dilemma of the Earl’s Heart
The drama! The intrigue! The scandal! This was so much fun to read with all of the plotting and counter-plotting. This story is filled with lies, and secret identities, and all kinds of twists. I don’t find it completely believable that Francis would forgive being lied to as easily as he does. But since the truth behind the lie opens up the avenue he wanted to pursue anyway, I can understand why he might not be as upset as I think he should be.
The Scandalous Dowager Countess
That wasn’t at all what I was expecting and yet it was just exactly what I wanted. In this book, the Catesby matriarch gets another chance with a suitor from her debut. A sweet second chance story that highlights love and loss and the lengths we’ll go to for the people who are important to us.

This was a suspenseful collection of Regency romances about the Catesby siblings and their mother after their father dies. Lady Emily must escape from a physically and emotionally abusive husband and family friend Lord Markham will stop at nothing to save her. Second son Charles has to deal with an intruder in his newly inherited townhouse after Abigail runs away from the villainous lord her father has betrothed her to. Helena Catesby is attracted to her brother Charles’ friend Lord Richard Livingston, but he is conducting secret investigations and is afraid he will bring harm to her if they become involved romantically. It isn’t until he involves Helena in his latest investigation that he starts to get answers. Sophia is attracted to the new gardener. She knows it’s forbidden because he’s a lower class, but she doesn’t know that he’s really a viscount hiding from his conniving mother and the woman she has betrothed him to. Scientist Henry Catesby refuses to marry as his brother suggests. Bookish Laurie Davenport refuses to marry the lecherous older man her father wants her to wed. They both discover a deserted shack in the Catesby woods. It is not love at first sight, but they decide to combine forces to hide from their relatives machinations and fix it up. Francis, the Earl of Catesby, is attracted to his new housekeeper, who unknown to him is a Viscount’s daughter hiding from her sadistic cousin Stephen who is determined to marry her no matter what cost to gain her inheritance, which he believes should have been his. There are feelings between Francis and Rebecca, but they fight it because of the difference in station and Rebecca because of her uncertain future. The last book is about their mother and discusses how her children’s lives have changed in the six years since their father died. She finds love with Lord Blackford, but he needs money to rebuild his estate for his son and he has stole before because of this. Is she willing to risk her heart to a thief and fortune hunter? I was sorry to see this series end, but there were several secondary characters who are deserving of their own romances.
Each of these stories are full of warm characters and entertaining stories. And all of this for the price of one book. Read and enjoy!

I had read several of these books individually, and it’s great to get them all in one set, along with a new seventh book. I have loved this series ever since I read Lady Emily’s Escape two years ago. Since then, the author has given us the stories of the other Catesby scions and their adventures and misadventures in finding true love. The books have some drama, mystery, and secrets, along with honorable gentlemen, sweet and strong ladies, and a few villains. The books are clean, meaning there is no explicit sex, but plenty of love and romance. It’s a great series, and I encourage you to grab the set, especially at the introductory price. You won’t be disappointed!

I loved The Mysterious Lord Livingston, a very intense Regency mystery romance. The characters are vividly portrayed. The plot is unusual. I was so intrigued, I read the entire story in one afternoon. This is a clean tale that should keep you engrossed!
Mr. Henry Catesby & the Rebellious Redhead is a short, sweet Regency romance. Henry, a loner, thinker, and astronomer, is being badgered by his brother to marry. Laurie has been promised to a much older, vile “gentleman” by her father. Both Henry and Laurie escape to the woods where they spend time in a long abandoned cabin. The characters and story are well written and could be enjoyed by anyone who likes Regency tales.
I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to get the complete collection of Sunny Brooks House of Catesby. I have read a few of the stories and just loved them, but now I have the chance to read from start to finish. I adore the characters after the death of the Earl this family does what it must with strength of will the author has developed them so well you will feel as if you have known them for a long time great job. I highly recommend this collection I know I will re-read these stories many times. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I completely loved this set of books. Each book is lovely in its own way, but they are all truly special. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
New Lives for Members of a Grieving Family
When I first saw the cover of this collection of seven novellas, I immediately thought it was reminiscent of Downton Abbey. This collection is based around the living survivors of the Earl of Catesby. In a brief introduction before the seven novellas begin, we are told that the Earl has died very suddenly after appearing to be in good health. This naturally throws his family into grief and uncertainty. His oldest son takes over, of course, but Francis doesn’t feel like he has been adequately prepared for the role. He has much to learn about the estate, how to direct his siblings, and how to care for his mother.
Each of the novellas centers around a different member of the family, all the Catesby children and even the Dowager Countess. We start off with the married sister, Emily. Novella one deals rather intensively with scenes and repercussions of spousal abuse, so this book definitely needs a trigger warning.
As these are novellas, sometimes they didn’t appear to be as well developed as they should be. For instance, the villains–when there are overt ones–were over the top, two dimensional..stock villains, with no light in their darkness. Sometimes, the story felt a bit rushed, too. People fell in love quickly without much emotional storytelling to back it up. Still, I found the novellas good, quick reads.
All the novellas are distinct, and each of the siblings has their own unique personality, quirks, needs, and motivations. I didn’t find too many grammar or usage errors, but there were a few wrong words. Nothing much to distract from reading, though.
Each novella can be read in an afternoon. While the novellas had flaws, they were an enjoyable way to pass the time on a cold winter’s day.

I’ve read this series and reviewed each book, except number 7 which is the story about the Dowager Catesby. I was slightly disappointed in the story and the characters. I expected Martha to be a stronger character and the man she fell in love with to be of better character. Every other story is a delightful tale as each sibling falls in love.
I had read the first six books individually and been delighted by them, but Book 7 with the adventures of the 50-year-old widow Lady Martha Catesby is heavenly.
