A great cozy mystery to enjoy.
I love the characters in this series. After reading the first eight (8) books, I know so much about each of the characters that I feel as though they have become my friends. The fictional island is absolutely perfect for the series setting.
The twists and turns made for an intriguing whodunit.

When popular teen heiress Isabella Worthington is killed, it puts the town of Pelican Cove in a state of shock and grief. Jenny and the Magnolias are just beside themselves and can’t believe the vibrant and well-loved girl is no longer with them. When a teen comes forward and says the tragic car crash was not an accident but a murder, Jenny decides to get involved and find out what really happened to Isabella.
What I love most about this cozy mystery series is that the author writes very strong, intelligent, and vibrant female characters who are supportive of one another. They are not dizzy ladies that stumble upon murders and through dumb luck discover the murderer. From the main character Jenny through the supporting characters (the Magnolias), both together and independently they sort through red herrings, lying suspects, stubborn witnesses, and mastermind murders to solve the case. Along the way, you get a bit of romance, a touch of humor, and lot of bonding moments (with food).
The most popular girl in school, Isabella Worthington, is a millionaire teenager. She is one that really didn’t let it go to her head, she instead helped out her friends. When news comes to Pelican Cove that she was killed in a car crash, everyone is shocked! There are a few people that don’t believe it was an accident, it was murder and they want Jenny to look into it. Isabella’s father is a real ‘piece of work’ and not very helpful. Jenny talks with all of Isabella’s friends including the girl who was hurt terribly in the car accident with Isabella. The more Jenny looks into things, the more she sees that not all of Isabella’s ‘friends’ were actually friends. Can she find out what actually happened without the help of the sheriff’s office? After all, being left at the altar by the sheriff does leave a bad taste in your mouth. I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.
**SPOILER ALERT**
I am reviewing this book for the author and this is my brutality honest review.
There were parts I liked and parts I down right hated!
Jenny marrying Jason-HUGE MISTAKE! (hated)
Adam begging for another chance-I am on the fence about that
The story about their young friend and her death was good. Not that someone dying was good but you know what I mean. I liked the twists and turns of that and honestly I didn’t see the killer at all. Star and her “friend” finally, possibly, maybe, putting a label on their relationship is HUGE and I really hope it works out. It will be very interesting to see where this story goes next.
