#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER In the summer of 1977, Victoria Leonard’s world changes forever when Caitlin Somers chooses her as a friend. Dazzling, reckless Caitlin welcomes Vix into the heart of her sprawling, eccentric family, opening doors to a world of unimaginable privilege, sweeping her away to vacations on Martha’s Vineyard, an enchanting place where the two friends become “summer … friends become “summer sisters.”
Now, years later, Vix is working in New York City. Caitlin is getting married on the Vineyard. And the early magic of their long, complicated friendship has faded. But Caitlin begs Vix to come to her wedding, to be her maid of honor. And Vix knows that she will go—because she wants to understand what happened during that last shattering summer. And, after all these years, she needs to know why her best friend—her summer sister—still has the power to break her heart.

Wonderfully told story of the growing pains we all experience while transitioning from life as a carefree teen to the real adult world. The heart of the story reminds us again that while money buys many things, love and friendship continue to be priceless
An easy read.
sorry, I just couldn’t get into it…
I enjoyed the book! Highly entertaining!
Wonderful story of a lifetime friendship with unexpected, surprising twists.
Interesting characters!
Good coming of age story.
Fun book to read
I loved this book and hope she writes a sequal. Could not put it down.
The book was pretty predictable and the sex scenes came from left field and didn’t really fit with the rest of the story. Pretty gratuitous. I did finish it, and give it an okay rating.
The story really didn’t go anywhere and too many explicit scenes that didn’t add to the storyline.
Loved the book and did not want it to end.
Nice beach read even if you are not on the beach!!
This is one of my all time favorite books! I’ve been a fan of Judy Blume since I was a kid. I’ve read Summer Sisters several times. Every person I’ve recommended this to has loved it.
Not exactly the Judy Blume of my childhood, but still entertaining as always. The characters were believable and probably all too familiar. No shocking ending here, but still an enjoyable read.
I’ve loved this book for years. It always makes me smile before it makes me cry. I only wish it had a sequel. I’ve always wanted to know what happens next.
Judy Blume…….is there anything more to say?? Love her, did as a child and still do as an adult!
Easy, entertaining beach read.
This book was hard to put down, and then when I finished it, it haunted me for days…to me, that’s the very definition of a great book: one that keeps you thinking about the story, the characters, the ending long after you turn the final page. Judy Blume is such a good writer. I highly recommend this read!
