#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER In the summer of 1977, Victoria Leonard’s world changes forever when Caitlin Somers chooses her as a friend. Dazzling, reckless Caitlin welcomes Vix into the heart of her sprawling, eccentric family, opening doors to a world of unimaginable privilege, sweeping her away to vacations on Martha’s Vineyard, an enchanting place where the two friends become “summer … friends become “summer sisters.”
Now, years later, Vix is working in New York City. Caitlin is getting married on the Vineyard. And the early magic of their long, complicated friendship has faded. But Caitlin begs Vix to come to her wedding, to be her maid of honor. And Vix knows that she will go—because she wants to understand what happened during that last shattering summer. And, after all these years, she needs to know why her best friend—her summer sister—still has the power to break her heart.
Praise for Summer Sisters

“As warm as a summer breeze blowing through your hair, as nostalgic as James Taylor singing ‘How Sweet It Is.’ You remember. So does Judy Blume. How sweet it was.”—Chicago Tribune
“An exceptionally moving story that can leave the reader laughing and crying . . . sometimes at the same time . . . Blume creates a rich tapestry of characters.”—The Denver Post
“Blume’s characters still tend to hover after the book is set aside. . . . She catches perfectly the well-armored love between longtime female friends.”—The Seattle Times

This has been one of my favorite books since high school. This is probably the fourth or fifth time I’ve read it and I still love it. Easy to read and fast paced story about friendship.
Loved it had to keep reading live on the Vineyard so much was famili
Awesome book; I loved the development of the characters.
It is a Coming of age novel, which I should have anticipated since Judy Blume wrote it. There were parts of it that were kind of boring, but some intriguing turns of events.
It was not what I expected from this author but I found myself pulled into the story by the characters. It is something of a “coming of age” story but one of the main characters has a serious character disorder, Interesting read!
Good summer read
Great Summer beach read.
Very quick read! I read this book in one afternoon (mainly because I could NOT put the book down). The characters were very easy to get to know, and I feel like they are life-long friends of mine. Great book!
Loved this book, couldn’t put it down!
This book truly drove me crazy and I almost stopped reading it. I was going to delete it but I hated to give in and so I read to the end. It had a sad but good ending and I’m happy I stuck with it.
Loved it!

I was interested right to the end
One of my all time favorite books. Ran a bookstore this was on my recommended reading list. This is a must read
Read this years ago and it was a favorite.
I’ve read Judy Blume since elementary school. Found this one as an adult. It was ok. Not her best, but a good read for a summer book.
