I enjoyed most of the stories but there were a few I didn’t. The ones I did not enjoy were stories I wouldn’t normally read. They were good just not my cup of tea.
My favorites: Vannetta Chapman (takes place in Shipshewana and involves an Amish man and a lady FBI agent), Christy Barritt (part of her Lantern Beach series, which I have put on my TBR list) and Rachel J. Good (Amish Twins – one good and one very bad seed. I’m still shivering at the thought of being confused with an identical twin).
I have found several new to me authors that I will be looking to read in the future.
This is the perfect book for the person who likes to read but has a busy schedule. You can read a story in one sitting and not worry about stopping in the middle of a book and forgetting what is happening by the time you get back to it.
Mary Alford is one of my favorite authors and if you like suspense get this collection and let her set you off on some seriously good reading! Suspense, action, Amish, faith and just so many of my favorite authors kept me in quite a few late night reading.
I was gifted a copy, no review was required. My review is voluntary.
this a good collection of suspense stories. if you like suspense and romance you will want to read this book. I was given a copy of the book but this is an honest review. they authors are all very good writers
What a great collection of suspense tales. I absolutely loved each and everyone in this book. All had a twist which made the suspense even stronger. Highly recommend. I received an advance reader copy from the author. Opinions are my own.
Breakout is Samantha Prices’s contribution to this Sixteen book collection of Christian Fiction, Summer of Suspense. It is a new idea for the mostly Amish author and a tremendous prequel to the Gretel Koch Jewel Thief series.
Gretel Koch is a minister’s daughter that is an international jewel thief and worst, she has been caught. Gretel’s every waking minute is spent planning her escape and revenge on the boyfriend who stole her diamonds.
How was Special Agent Jack Fletcher going to play into her plan?
A fast-reading story that keeps your attention from beginning until the end.
A real winner, Samantha. Can’t wait for the rest of the series.
I was given an ARC by the author for my honest review.
Summer of Suspense:Sixteen Tales
Some of Christian Fiction’s Most Popular Mystery and Suspense Authors
From Mary Alford to Ruth Logan Herne to Debi Giusti just to name a few of the authors, you will take a reading journey that covers many different heroes/heroines who use their faith to solve their problems. There is something for everyone. Would love to see them do another project like this.
Ok so I am going to post my book review on this book in sections as there are 16 books by 16 authors so I will say I am excited to read all these authors some new and some favorites.
Storm Warning Mary Alford-
Oh my goodness this book will have you turning the pages just to find out what happens next. I so wish there was more to the story if just flew by and kind of ended in a cliffhanger, or at least leaves you wanting more. Mary Alford is one of my favorites in this book she sucks you in and you will not be disappointed at all
Some were excellent- some weren’t. I averaged my rating.
There were a few stories in this assortment that were good, some were ok and there were at least 3/4 that I totally passed after reading the first 1-2 chapters. I’m glad that it’s was only $.99 for it.
Only read about half of the stories. Most not that great. I’m all for predictable hallmark-like stories but these seemed extra cheesy.
