Life in a small town can be tough. It can be even tougher when you’re a witch whose magic regularly backfires. But Summer Thorne only wants one thing: to create the perfect sanctuary for unwanted animals. Nothing and no one is going to stop her. Not even the sexy sheriff who is determined to shut down her rescue center. And certainly not the laboratory where she illegally obtained her mischievous … mischievous chimpanzee, Morty.
Sheriff Cooper Carlyle has one goal: to keep his town safe. That includes his stubborn neighbor, Summer, whether she wants him to or not. When the animals of Summer’s menagerie get loose and create havoc, he decides enough is enough. But things aren’t always as they appear, and Coop stumbles upon the secret the Thorne sisters have been hiding.
Coop and Summer discover Morty holds the key to unlock a twenty-year-old mystery surrounding the death of Summer’s mother. Now Coop is faced with breaking the law he is sworn to uphold in order to protect Summer and her beloved pet from a threat more dangerous than any of them imagined.

This series is a lot of fun to read- though they all have similar themes they do keep it entertaining!
I liked this book
a cliff hanger!
Sticking with this book was almost too frustrating, as the on-again, off-again romance of the main characters was overdone. Since it made the male lead look like an absolute jerk, it also made the female look foolish and weak. The sad thing is that it was so unnecessary. There was some very good writing here: lots of plot development, characters that were a riot (especially the animal and avian ones) , and enough conflict coming from several quarters. The redundancy of relationship angst was a plot derailment that just aggravates the reader. The previews of the next book in the series pointed to the same type of relationship problems, so I doubt I’ll continue with this series. I will watch for others from the author, because the potential is there.
Read the whole series, you will not regret buying them. They are action packed, funny at times, tragic at times. But always entertain.
Great book, surprised me several times !!
It was over before I knew it. the book flowed smoothly and creates a want to read more.
Easy read.
I loved this series. Each book was somewhat the same format but the twists and turns we’re what kept me going. I have read all that are in the series and can’t wait for book 7.
Enjoyable characters and fun to read.
A fun and interesting read
I enjoyed reading this book, it was fast reading and I didn’t want to put it down. I hope to read the seasons book.
Really good writing. It takes a lot to keep me reading to see what happens. Cant wait to read the rest of the books.
too much game playing for my taste
Too many characters introduced as relatives and the book is meant to be read with the rest of the series. The ending was disappointing.
The basic story grabbed me, but almost gets lost in the graphic sex.
Loved it..can’t wait to read the others in this series.
I love the twist in this story!!! Couldn’t put it down!!! Can’t wait to read the rest of the series
What an incredible story. I can’t remember how many times I laughed so hard. There were times that Cooper irritated me with the way he acted toward Summer but it sure made for a great storyline. Oh and Morty….I love Morty.
This is a new to me author but I will be sure to read more of these books.
Absolutely loved this book and the others in this magical, romantic, gripping series
Love this author….always hate it when I get to end of her books
