The Summer Lake series is sweet n steamy, small town romance with a focus on fun, friendships and happily ever afters. It follows a group of friends from a small lakeside town in the California hills. They have kept in touch over the years and now, in their early thirties, their lives are drawing them back to Summer Lake and to each other.
In Love Like You’ve Never Been Hurt, you’ll meet Jack … meet Jack and Emma. He wants to give her forever – the trouble is, she doesn’t believe in forever anymore.
In Work Like You Don’t Need the Money, you’ll meet Pete and Holly. He doesn’t have room for a woman in his life – only in his bed – the trouble is, once he gets her into his bed he can’t get her out of his mind.
And in Dance Like Nobody’s Watching, you’ll meet Missy and Dan. He’s a quiet, shy, tech genius whose success in life should make him happy – the trouble is, it doesn’t. She’s a broke single mom who talks too much – being around her makes him happy.

I loved these books! The characters are fun and interesting, and the stories are great! Author S.J. McCoy is now one of my favorite romance authors!
Loved it!!! Couldn’t put it down !!!!
I absoluty love Summer Lake. Such timeless, beautiful stories to be read over and over again.
I knew before I started this book that it was part of a series featuring Chance Malone from one of SJ McCoy’s “Summer Lake” series. As such, it was bound to have a cliffhanger. I HATE cliffhangers but as SJ McCoy was becoming one of my fave romance writers and I knew I would not have to wait long for the next book, I took a chance on reading it. I am very glad I did. SJ McCoy writes about having fun while falling in love. Her characters suffer through all the angst that real life lovers have the doubts and misgivings, but always seem to find their way out the other side. All the while surrounded by family and friends who with laughter and some good natured teasing support ,help each other sort out their happily ever after. So while “Chance Encounter” left me shouting at the main character like he could really hear me, I have no doubt Chance Malone will find his happily ever after someday. If you don’t mind waiting for a someday, happily ever after pick up “Chance Encounter” for alight feel good love story. Oh, it has just the right amount of steamy love scenes also…enough to make you wish that Chance was real without overpowering the story.
I’m hooked
Love the characters!
Loved the writing and storylines
Beautiful
This is a wonderful box set, this gives you an understanding of each person and how their lives intertwine. Each couple bring new meaning to finding your one true love.
If the writer would have left out all the blow by blow sex, the story may have been better written. If I wanted a totally XXX rated book, I would have purchased one. I was totally disappointed that the writer felt he had to add that to have the story told. I would not recommend this for a “nice” read.
To much like a harlequin and smutty
A set of fun summer reads.Just enough drama to keep everything interesting without so much angst to drag the light hearted, fairy tale romances.
I’m reading the first box set and love them! I’ve ordered the next books in the series.
Super read. Page turner, unexpected twist, not too gory, good read. Really like this author!! Series could have gone on longer I loved it.
I really enjoyed these stories and had a difficult time putting the books down. The characters were great and realistic. Each story was a complete story. I do not like to be left hanging at the end of a book.
Summer Lake Romances Books 1-3
Book 1 “Love Like You’ve Never Been Loved”
Page turner! The writing is so engaging I felt as I was there and a part of this gregarious group of friends in this enchanting lake setting. Emma and Jack’s story both sets up the next books in the series and gives you a look at how first impressions aren’t always accurate. Lovely and steamy read!
Book 2 “Work Like You Don’t Need to Work”
Took a while to get to Holly’s back story but once you get there it becomes another page turner and winner. Loved the plot line and Pete’s attempts to figure out what it is that he really wants from Holly.
Book 3 “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching”
A good read. VERY steamy!!! A little slower paced than the first two in plot but lived the character development in Missy, Dan and Scot.
Even though each can be read as a stand alone, each depends heavily one the prior book. On to book 4 for me!
What a happy group of friends, each with their own personal quirks. Love the small town setting & especially on the lake. Everyone is beautiful, handsome & rich in some way in their life.
Enjoyed the series. A great summer read!
Little too steamy
This was a very enjoyable series to read with fun characters.
A good summer read by the pool. A couple of characters are a bit annoying in their angst, but fortunately author was able to save them from themselves. Got really interested in all of the characters as they evolved. Favorite — Dance Like No One is Watching…. — Dan is the man!
