Another entertaining page-turner from Milan Watson, I’ve been hooked on this series since I got my grubby paws on Sunsets in Colorado last October
I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A widowed single mother, Fiona has no time or energy for dating. Her life revolves around her son and her work as a waitress at the town’s diner. However, an unexpected meeting (and the rescue of her son) by handsome bull rider Mason stirs feelings which she hasn’t had since the death of her husband 4 years previous. Mason’s life is the circuit – how can they have a future? An enjoyable quick read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I received an ebook from the authors to read and review at my leisure. This is my voluntary, honest review. Wonderfully written book with very believable and well developed characters. A fun, romantic quickly read story. I definitely recommend this book! Enjoy!
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This is the final book in the series and all are standalone reads and all great reads. This was just what Fiona needed raising her son Timmy in the small town where family is very important and everyone is there for you. Also about Mason coming to town as a favor to his Nana and loving the town.
I love this series and so wanna go visit White Horse Creek and meet the residents! This latest addition only adds to the awesomeness of this series and I just love Fiona and Mason’s story! There’s romance and heartbreak, there’s family and friendship and I love how everyone comes together and helps each other out! A sweet romantic read with a fab HEA!!
The final book in the Colorado Crazy series brings Fiona and Mason’s story. The author once again brings strong characters and weaves an entertaining love story. Sparks fly at first sight but he’s a bull rider who travels and she’s a single mom raising her son,Timmy. This is their story. It moves quickly and smoothly with humor and steam and I enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
A lovely way to wrap up this series with Lisa’s wedding and a character from the diner finding love. Fiona is a single mom and a widow raising a rambunctious little boy. Mason is a bull rider and grandson to the much feared Mrs. Pollock. They meet at the annual fair and Mrs P. continues to engineer ways for Mason to stay in town an fall in love with Fiona. Her son Timmy plays a big role in ensuring that Mason is invited to hang around his mom in some very cute ways. These have all been great characters to get to know as their stories have been told.
The heart knows what it wants, sometimes it just takes the head a little bit to catch up. There were sparks from the moment Fiona and Mason first set eyes on each other, but she has her son to think about, and he never stayed anywhere long enough to put down roots.
Neither was quite ready for a relationship, but meeting each other spurred personal growth and introspection that brought them to the place where they were. Fast paced read that starts with excitement and is filled with humor and tenderness as well as a few truly swoon-worthy moments. I liked that 5 year old Timmy was a fully realized character in this book and actually played an important part.
This book can be read enjoyably as a standalone, but is also the perfect conclusion to the series. All the couples who have found their happy endings in this small Colorado town have cameos.
I am sad to see this series end, but Milan Watson wrote such a beautiful, sexy romance about a second chance at love that it did the series justice. I really liked Fiona and her five year old son, Timmy. Fiona has been a widow for awhile and just trying to care for her son and work at Tansy’s cafe until Mason comes into her life. Sparks were flying the first time they met along with some help from Mason’s nana. It was so romantic to see Mason fall in love and Fiona open her heart to a second chance at love. My favorite line was “I know I’m not your first love but I want to be your last.” I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Summer in Colorado is an easy read with believable characters and one feels good when done reading it. The attraction between Fiona and Mason is portrayed in an endearing way, especially their Friday night coupling. Most of the main characters portrayed in the previous eight books are mentioned and is a very fitting end to the well written series of the people in White Horse Creek. I do however have a serious complaint regarding the “publisher’s introduction” of the book. Fiona cannot and never will be a “widower” as she is a female.
Milan Watson is one of my favorite authors and this series is one of the reasons.
I have loved every book, every character, and every plot.
This is one of my favorite genres.
The characters are so real that I wanted to be their friend.
The plot has several twists but was amazing.
I don’t want this series to end.
Second chance, this time with a daredevil cowboy?
4.5stars
This story was a great end to the nine book series: romantic, with a touch of heat and a young widow with a small son suddenly ready to consider what’s missing from their frugal life.
I liked the excitement and connection right from the story’s start. Mason barrels into Fiona and Timmy’s lives and, in this small town of White Horse Creek, there’s ample opportunity for them to meet again and again if Mason decides to stick around long enough before his next scheduled rodeo competition. Mason’s an adrenaline junkie professional bull rider who has never hankered for a settled life. His scheming, purple-rinsed grannie gets involved and Fiona, Mason and young Timmy benefit from a few strategic pushes in the right direction.
An adorable, well-behaved young child is always a plus for me, the story is relatively low angst and I thoroughly enjoyed this second chance romance.
If you have been following the series, the characters featured in the previous stories return in cameos and to celebrate Lisa and Sam’s big day. Part of the charm of the series was getting to see how these friends and neighbors interact and support each other through good times and bad. But there’s a good balance between the occasional appearance of old characters and the central new romance. Summer in Colorado is good as a standalone but better when read as part of the series.
A great finale to the Colorado Crazy series with this final. This is Fiona and Mason’s story and a great addition to this wonderful series. This story covers overcoming fears of commitment and moving forward. The book is well written and fun to read. The characters are likable and the story is enjoyable. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review
I received this book free and I am voluntarily doing a review. Love the authors writing style and word building. This cover is just beautiful. I love this series ,this book is wonderful ,I enjoyed Fiona and Mason’s story to their hea.
I was so excited to learn that Milan Watson had written this final book to the Colorado Crazy series! I have read them all and looked forward to each and every one.
In this final installment, we get to meet Fiona more personally. She has shown up in other stories because the town diner plays such a prominent role and Fiona is a waitress there. Until Summer in Colorado, we only knew her to be a kind, hard working single mom. Now we get a closer look at who she is.
Fiona is a widow and devoted mother to her five year old son. While at the rodeo, Timmy is chased by a runaway horse. The quick thinking and reflexes of Mason Pollock save Timmy from being trampled. Mason, a PBR bull rider is in town for the rodeo and to visit his grandmother. When Mason and Fiona meet after rescuing Timmy, sparks fly. Fiona finds Mason kind, handsome, and funny but has decided that risking her heart again would just be too painful. Mason find Fiona beautiful, hard working, and a great mom but he knows he doesn’t have time in his life for anything permanent. The story that follows is one of overcoming fears of committment of what the future may hold.
This was a great addition to the series and a good final episode. Milan creates wonderful characters and quirky small towns to go with them. She is truly gifted in the way she describes her scenes. She makes you want to take your next trip to Colorado! I would definitely recommend this book and the whole series.
This was a very entertaining well written book with an absolutely fantastic storyline with incredible characters and drama that keeps you hooked. I volunteered to read this arc for my honest opinion
Fear is something Fiona knows well.
For her son, Timmy and for loss (she’s a widow).
Mason is an unexpected bull rider (with a fine form).
They meet when he’s in town bull riding.
Will he stay a little bit longer?
Two thousand pounds of hamburger… that’s how Mason described riding a bucking bull. But falling in love is a whole lot tougher.
Mason lived for the next town, the next event to have that eight second ride. He was a professional bull rider. He didn’t have the time nor the desire for a relationship.
Fiona is a single mom doing her best to make sure little Timmy has everything he needs. She has to give him the love of both a mother and a father, the clothes and food necessary and a remembrance of his deceased father without the darkness and prolonged loneliness that often accompanies.
When Timmy has to flee an escaped bucking bronco, he finds himself in the arms of a new Superhero. Mason-the-bull-rider grabs Timmy just in time and jumps in a pile of hay just as that bronco gallops by.
However, it’s not that easy to lasso Timmy’s mama. Fiona still grieves for Brian, her one and only love. Any death is hard on those left living, but when its sudden and unexpected that grief takes on a different level. Fiona just can’t let herself forget the only love of her life. She can’t even consider life with another man, let alone date.
Now, fours years , Mason-the-bull-rider so gallantly enters her life. But the big question will be: Is Mason a hero or a player? After finally allowing her heart to open, will Fiona find a way to love again or will her heart get broken? Does Timmy’s Superhero turn out to be the villain… or maybe just a man who is ready to go on the ride of his life?
I read an advanced copy of this book and am freely leaving my review.
A wonderful story and couple.
This was a wonderful story with a perfect couple! The storyline was interesting and intriguing and the characters pulled you in and had your attention through out the whole story! I’m so sad the series is over! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Another swert and heartfelt book from Milan. I was entertained by Faith and Mason’s story. Faith doesn’t think she’ll ever love someone after she looses her husband bit Mason and Fairh’s little boy know differently!! Loved the characters and dtory of love renewed!
