New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jill Sanders is back with another steamy session of adult summer camp.Though Elle Saunders grew up in Florida, life hasn’t always been sunny. This is a second book from Wildflowers and Elle falls for the youngest of Costas brothers Liam. The story is parallel to the first one but is great because there are not a lot of repetitive and I enjoyed reading this story much more than the first. Both Elle and Liam are both well developed and interesting and make a cute couple. Their story is simple, romantic and interesting. Waiting for the next one and to see how will it end.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
Evie and Patch will warm your hearts in this exciting story. Patch is new to the carnival as a worker and he had all the women vying for his attention including Evie but she was Harry’s woman or so she thought. Patch was captivated by Evie and he always go after what he wants. There is a lot of drama going around the carnival with attacks on workers that follows the carnival and once again someone falls prey. Emotions are high and everyone is on edge and when someone close dies it kicks the suspense up a gear because it is someone who is close to the carnival who is doing the deed. Who will be next and will Patch be able to keep Evie out of the culprits sights? This romantic suspense draws you in and keep you guessing!
This is the second book in this series and you could read this one without reading the first but the first was really good! This one is about Elle and Liam. Elle’s grandfather left her and the other Wildflowers (that is what she and her friends called themselves) the camp they turned into an upscale camp for adults and Liam and his brothers are still looking for their father. Now they find out Elle really does know who their father is. This series is great and I cannot wait for the next book!

This is the second book in the series and I definitely was happy that I had read book one first – but you could read them the other way around too!
Running in parallel with Summer Nights, but concentrating on the original Wildflower, Elle, I loved how I knew the underlying plot, but got to see another side of the story. Given it was a few months ago that I read the first book, I had enough in my mind to quickly catch up, but then could relax as I got to remember events but see them from a different viewpoint. We also get more of the mystery of the di Costa brothers’ father, Leo, but not everything. I am excited to see who gets their story next and how we find out more of just what is going on.
Elle inherited all her much loved grandfather’s assets, but the camp is for all the Wildflowers to run and enjoy together. The band of friends from summer camp are very close, but also very different. Even though they have kept in touch, they are also quite reserved about their lives, so Elle keeps her feelings for Liam to herself, well as much as she can. And as we know, Zoe is doing the same about Dylan – so I am guessing future installments will reveal further dalliances too! There are hints after all.
I just loved the concept of the tree house with the hidden ladder, and it sounded very well appointed, even in its most basic state. Add in the fact that they used it as a place to ‘meet,’ and it is no surprise that both Liam and Elle held great affection for it too. It was great fun that they kept finding chances to meet up and advance their relationship, and it was refreshing that Elle did not feel intimidated by Ryan’s brashness.
I definitely recommend this series, as it has love, family, humour, mystery, and a bit of drama. Escapism at its finest!

The second Wildflowers book belongs to Elle and Liam. We get to see the camp reopening from Elle’s perspective and the Costa brothers’ hunt for their father from Liam’s.
Elle is a likeable, engaging character. She’s a survivor of terrible childhood trauma and she’s the leader among the Wildflowers. Liam is more enigmatic. It is disappointing that all we really get as a description for Liam is a comparison to Jason Momoa (I had to google the name) and I kept wanting to know more about his art and woodworking talents. Much of the connection between these two feels like romance novel paint by numbers and I didn’t feel terribly invested in their relationship.
This second book takes place at almost the exact same time as the first. As a reader, this is pretty disappointing. We get a slightly different perspective on the events of the first book, but the few new revelations come at the very end of a long book. And while the first book took time to properly introduce readers to the characters and their camp, this second book only skims the surface. I feel like I’ve finished a disappointing re-read of a book I really enjoyed the first time.
So far, there really isn’t enough substance or suspense around Leo Costa’s disappearance to keep my attention and I don’t think I can face another three books recounting the same events to find out. I still love the idea of the Wildflowers sisterhood and I love the camp the women are rebuilding together. But this book is lacking the humour and warmth of the first book and I’m not sure I’m invested enough in the series story arc to continue with the third book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have been lucky enough to get an ARC of the second book in the Wildflowers saga. If you read the review of the previous book, you may know I was positive about reading the next ones. Time has put the saga under another light and I wasn’t so sure about reading them outside of a platform like NetGalley. I didn’t properly acknowledge the bad feeling I had after finishing Summer Nights. A bad feeling that has been confirmed with the second book.
We go back to the camp and in time to fully meet Elle, the soul of the project to build a camp for adults. We get to read from her perspective the first days of the life in the camp. We also get to know better Liam, the youngest of the three insanely hot brothers who are desperately seeking their father. Liam’s mission is to get close to Elle to reveal any kind of participation by her in their father and money disappearance. It doesn’t look like the perfect setting for a blooming love, but I guess closeness makes things cozier…
The story of this book has been utterly disappointing. Or, better said, the lack of an original story is the biggest issue that hugely hindreds the enjoyment of it. Almost three quarters of the book is just to tell us again what happened in Zoey’s and Dylan’s book, but from the point of view of Elle and Liam. A point of view that doesn’t bring anything new to it; so it felt useless and extremely boring. Was it so hard to resume the story where the previous book left it? The most interesting part of that book was the mystery surrounding Leo Costa’s disappearance. A mystery that wasn’t resolved and was left in a rather interesting point. So it has been a huge letdown when most of the book is about retelling the same and just throwing a couple of new facts at the end of the story. Sorry, but it is lazy writing.
About the main couple, I feel like performing a copy and paste of my opinions about Zoey and Dylan. Nothing really bad or really good to make them special. They are so extremely OK that it is kind of boring. This time I can’t even mention the banter, because there is none. Is their romance bad? Not really. It just lacks any kind of spice to make it a tiny bit interesting. It doesn’t help that we were hinted about the relationship in the previous book, so there wasn’t anything surprising about it. Overall, the dynamics between Liam and Elle are kind of weird and it is pretty hard to forge any kind of connection with them, which enhances the feeling of being in front of a boring book.
I also would repeat what I said in the review of the first book: what is the deal with the ages of the characters? So ridiculously young, but then they are handled as if they had tons of life experiences behind them. I still have no idea why the author picked such young individuals if later they don’t behave like their age. Yes, it could happen that there were one or two characters that are way more mature for their own age, but it is a norm for everyone in this saga. It is annoying and utterly unbelievable.
I must admit that I’m not feeling like reading the next book. It looks like it will be the one for Hannah and Owen and the chances of having another retelling are way too high for my comfort. I would love to be wrong though, because I still want to know what is really happening with the missing father.
Just as well written as book 1, a smart, sexy romance, Jill Sanders is one-click favorite. I truly enjoyed getting to re-aquainted with this cast of characters and look forward to more books in the future.
Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy for an honest review.
Five friends, the Wildflowers, have come back together after the loss of Elle’s grandfather to re-open the camp where they first met. I love these friendships. They are real, they are not perfect, and they are forever. These amazing ladies call each other out, stand up for each, and protect each other all while smiling, laughing, crying, and loving. While they are friends, it is true that they are really sisters.
Liam…sigh, he is so sexy and sweet. The reason for him coming to the camp is not necessary with the best intentions but it quickly becomes clear that he cares for Elle and realizes that she could not be the one with the answers he is looking for. I really enjoyed these two coming together. They make sense, they fulfill each other, and they trust each other.
Summer Heat is a quick and easy book with characters that are relatable and fun. I’d recommend Jill Sanders to anyone who enjoys sweet and sexy mixed in with fun.
Was thrilled with this emotionally thrilling, sexy, fun and engaging adventure filled with engaging charters, witty banter, sizzling secrets and undeniable passion…… a great read from beginning to end. I am loving this group of intriguing and entertaining charters and look forward to the next journey!
Summer Heat is a fun, sexy romance about a group of friends that have been friends for many years and their love and loyalty to each other just warms your heart. There is just enough mystery, suspense, drama, angst, and hot guys to keep you wanting more. Looking forward to the next book!
This is book 2 in the Wildflowers series and I would absolutely read book 1 before reading book 2 as this story kind of coincides with book 1. You may be confused about some things if you don’t read book 1. In this one we get Elle and Liam’s story. Elle and her friends have taken over what was their summer camp and turned it into an adult getaway. And since it is such a handful for them to keep running, they hire brother’s to help them manage everything. Liam took the job in order to get close to Elle and confront her on luring his father away from not only his business but his family. But the attraction they both feel for each other keeps getting in the way of what they both think they need to be concentrating on.
This story is basically a continuation of the first book but it runs concurrently with it. Liam and Elle have a lot of chemistry together but they also have a lot of issues that they need to work out. This book seemed to have quite a few things besides just a romance story. There is suspense in there as they try to figure out exactly what happened with his dad, there are secrets that need to be dealt with and it almost seemed like a second chance even though it technically really wasn’t. Definitely well worth the read and I can’t wait to read the 3rd book and find out where the author takes us next!
I enjoyed this book a lot! Elle & Liam had a lot of chemistry, and watching them interact and figure out their feelings was entertaining. I will say that I wish I had read book 1 first. I felt a little lost and overwhelmed at moments, but over all it was a great book!
This is such a good book!
It’s a engaging & sexy
romance, filled with intrigue.
Elle & her childhood friends, also
known as the Wildflowers,
re-opened her grandfather’s camp.
Three mysterious brothers showed
to apply for jobs, along with secrets
& suspensions.
Elle Liam, are perfect together.
Can’t wait for Book 3!
I loved everything about this
Must Read Story!!
Summer Heat was a great addition to the Wildflower saga. The beginning was a little slow due to the repetitive history of the first few months everyone is together. You see it from a different perspective.
Once things got going I could not put the book down. A great story that grabbed me! Can’t wait to see what the other Wildflowers bring to the mix.
I am glad to get more of the story of the missing dad. Still a mystery. I like Elle and Liam. Their story overlaps with the first book in this series and explains more about what is happening with Liam’s father. It was pretty much love at first sight, but neither of them wanted to admit it. When Elle finds out Liam’s real identity, she isn’t sure she can be with someone who would lie to her. Liam feels bad about the secrets, but they had to do that in order to find their dad. Once the truth is out, will they have a chance?
Summer Heat is the second book in the Wildflowers series, and the timeline is overlapping with Summer Nights. There is a mystery that runs through the entire series, with each book advancing it a little bit more.
Summer Heat focuses on the relationship between Elle and Liam. With Liam’s father missing, he and his brothers took a job at the summer camp that three friends run, thinking the women have something to do with his disappearance. Liam find himself strongly attracted to Elle, and she to him, but Liam doesn’t know if she’s actually involved in his father’s disappearance, so giving in to the attraction could prove very distracting on his quest for answers. Elle, in the meantime, doesn’t think she’s a good judge of men, so she doesn’t trust herself, either!
The series is well-written, with good chemistry and good character and plot development. I’ll definitely finish the series so I can find out there the Costa dad has run off to, and I guarantee I’ll enjoy it as well based on the first two books.
This is the second book in this series and I actually liked it more than the first book, and that does not normally happen, but that is the case with this one. We had met Liam in the last book he is one of brothers who is looking for his father and thinking that Elle was his dads mistress but as he spends time with her he doesn’t think that is the case. Liam was entrusted to spend more time with Elle trying to find anytype of clues as to where their dad is at. Elle is one of the wildflowers a group of girls that came to be best friends at a time when they all needed each other and continued to be the best of friends, now they each own a part of the retreat but know that these group of brothers are hiding something and they are going to find out.. I don’t want to say anymore so that you grab a copy and Enjoy! Can’t wait for Hannah and Owen’s story, and then we need someone for Scar and Aubrey- or is Aubrey with Aiden? Just wishing..
rcvd an ARc at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
3.75/5
This is the second book of the Wildstone series and the first one that I have read. Even though this could be read as a standalone, I think that reading book 1 first would help you understand the characters of this story. Having not read the first book, I was a little lost but not much. I found that Elle and Liam were likeable. Their chemistry was off the charts. It was a good read.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Elle is running a camp with her four BFFS. Liam and his brothers come searching for their dad – but don’t want to alert anyone as to why they are there. The guys get jobs at the resort but it doesn’t take too long for the girls to catch on that something is up. Originally, the guys think Elle is their dad’s latest mistress. When Liam lets that slip, Elle finds that hilarious. Turns out Elle knows their dad but not quite in the way anyone expected.
This is a great series! We’re still not sure where the bigger story is going – so many questions about Leo and crazy Ryan is still hanging around. But Liam and Elle are a great match up even though it takes them a bit to figure it out. I love that Elle is in charge yet knows how to rely on her pals to help her through things. I love this group of Wildflowers and cannot wait for the rest of their stories!
Sexy and a little sentimental, Summer Heat is a great addition to this fun series. While I enjoyed the first book, Summer Nights, it got bogged down by the many characters involved in the story. Anyone who reads this as a standalone will probably feel the same about this book, but those who have read the first are not likely to have an issue keeping up. With a much more focused romance, I found this to be a satisfying read.
The story follows Elle, one of five friends who recently opened a camp for adults. She doesn’t have the best experience with men, but she finds herself attracted to Liam… despite the fact that she knows he’s keeping secrets. One of three brothers who recently started working at the camp, Liam seems to be snooping around a lot. The two are a little mistrustful of each other but a lot attracted, so they tentatively start something between them. Secrets stand in their way, and they have to work through them before they can have something lasting.
There are a lot of things that worked better in this story for me than the last, especially the increased focus on the romance and the lack of deception between Elle and Liam. Sure, they both have secrets but that’s out in the open so it didn’t feel slimy. I also really enjoyed Liam – he may be young, but his sole focus was Elle from the start. It was easy to feel the chemistry and root for them. While the overarching storyline for the series got a little overwhelming at times, it didn’t take away from the book as a whole. I’m definitely curious about the next book, since these all follow along the same timeline and we’ve gotten glimpses of what that story will entail. I received an ARC via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Interesting take on writing in this series Each one tells the story from a different perspective While at the same time each book is the story of a different couple
The story revolves around a camp for wealthy guests and the disappearance of the Costa father. At the same time we get a the love story of Liam and Elle you don’e really need to read the first book to follow the story however as the writing is so flawless I would recommend that you
