If you like NA romance, you will LOVE this book!
New Adult romance usually isn’t my first choice. But holy cow, I was SUCKED IN to this book. Couldn’t put it down! The story moved at a perfect pace, and A.S. Did a fantastic job of keeping me sucked in by dropping little hints about a huge mystery that I couldn’t wait to see solved!
I loved Katherine. Her inner monologues gave me some good chuckles, and I enjoyed watching her grow as a person throughout the book.
And Bennet. Oh my gosh. You WILL dump your current book boyfriend for Bennet. Thoughtful, wise, tough yet sensitive. And HOT. Let’s not forget that attribute!
I was almost in tears at a couple parts, and again, the suspense of finding out about the mystery and how everything would turn out in the end made this story absolutely enthralling.
I thought the final scene could have had a little more of a “POW!” moment, but I have absolutely zero complaints about this book! A.S. Is incredibly talented, and I can’t wait to read more of her books!
***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
I liked Katherine and Bennet and how they meet. I liked reading about Katherine and Bennet and how their relationship changes in this story. This was a good read and I recommend.
I received an ARC and am leaving my honest and voluntary review.
A.S. Green delivers all the emotions of love/hate interactions, growing desire, new relationships, love, finding yourself & finding your place as a couple in her contemporary story of Summer Girl. Katherine & Bennet are so relatable as individuals and eventually as a couple. A.S. Green provides rich detailed world-building in all of her previous stories…and it is the same for Summer Girl. I was introduced to A.S. Green in her paranormal stories (which are all ah-mazing…) And I enjoy her contemporary stories just as much! Give yourself a treat and read Summer Girl! I received an ARC for my honest review.
Young and lasting love, challenge and change
Let me say first, that I have been reading this author for some time now and her pivot from paranormal to contemporary/new adult romance has been seamless and sweet. She brought her writing A game to this new series endeavor. Pouring the same thought and detail into Summer Girl, A. S. Green has written a really wonderful coming of age romance. Featuring two characters set on an unexpected and connected collision course, Katherine/Kate and Bennet have a meet cute moment that seems anything but cute to them. Katherine is introduced to the reader first. She’s the ultimate planner, truly an exceptional organizer, and the changing of meticulous plans for the summer throw her for a loop. If anyone needed a change and challenge, it’s Katherine! The same can also be said for Bennet. He’s been mentally stuck in his pursuit of a music career until his Summer Girl arrives to temp and challenge him to change. Turns out, they are each other’s muse for change and life’s path.
The plot of this book revolves around both Katherine and Bennet finding themselves and how the two of them together make it possible for learning things about themselves as well as each other. The author takes a deep dive emotionally with these two and challenges them to look past the surface of themselves. There are timely epiphanies throughout, and unintended consequences challenge the feelings that have developed.
Bennet and Katherine began in a like/hate dance which builds the reader’s anticipation of increasing sexual tension. Sparks fly, getting stronger and brighter with every encounter, until finally all their chemistry comes to an undeniable and explosive eruption that is more than just a steamy encounter, it’s palpable and steeped with feelings that have developed.
Overall, this author wrote a book that captivated and compelled with well developed, complex, likable characters, an interesting and beautiful setting and an HEA that is true to Katherine/Kate becoming the person she likes and wants to be and Bennet’s professional promise and solid security for a beautiful future.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
It’s just a sweet story.
I always love a sweet yet steamy summer story. Especially with a broken hero.
