He’s my biggest competition…and also my biggest turn-on.I’m determined as hell to win this Halloween Bake-Off. The prize money—$10,000—would help me pay off my mom’s medical bills and do some other nice stuff for her, too. Not to mention that it would be mind-blowing to be this year’s bake-off champion.I’m up against some stiff competition, though. Most intimidating? An executive pastry chef … executive pastry chef named Jackson. And it’s not just his credentials that make me feel shaken up…it’s also his mouth-watering good looks.
I absolutely can’t let myself get distracted by him, though. There’s too much at stake.
But it’s getting harder…and harder…to…concentrate…

Elizabeth and Jackson entered a baking competition show for different reasons. She wanted to help with her mother’s medical bills and he was goaded by his coworker at the upscale restaurant. This is a sweet story with entertaining characters and a great HEA.
This was all over the place.
This quick read is built around a television baking competition. Elizabeth and Jackson have both entered the competition, each for their own reason. While their insta love did not happen at first sight, it definitely happened. I really enjoyed this book, which is no surprise with an author like Ms. Hunt. I am grateful that she shares her imagination with us. Looking forward to the next.

Quick read and I really enjoyed it. Jackson and Elizabeth were such a good couple and the chemistry between them was intense. They meet while competing on a baking competition and I loved it. They both had something to prove in winning the competition and they were actually able to win something much better than money. Great read for an afternoon escape.

Elizabeth and Jackson are rivals on a Halloween baking competition but during the competition things heat up and they end out falling for each other. This is a quick, sweet love story and book six of the Hot, Short & Sweet series. Although this is my first book in this series I look forward to reading more in the future.
Halloween bake off contest is how it started! This was a cute short story about how two pastry lovers compete against each other to win 10k and bragging rights. This story is about Jackson and Elizabeth. He is a well-known pastry chef and she is only entering the contest to appease her mother as her mother loved to bake. The contest starts and off they go. They both end up being the two finalist and well let’s just say it one jeopardize a chance to win. They make out while waiting for the judges and the story continues. It has a sweet ending with her mom getting better, but something is discovered at the end that Elizabeth can’t believe.

Halloween bake-off
I love sweets! I also like watching bake-offs. Watching those talented bakers make beautiful and tasty treats is inspiring. Have you ever thought about why they are competing? Ms. Hunt must have because she gave us this story. Elizabeth and Jackson have different reasons on why they applied to compete. They also have chemistry hot enough to bake any cake! Remember, there can only be one winner…..right?

This is Jackson and Elizabeth story. Both are bakers on a TV show. One signed up to help her mom. The other signed up because he was drunk and goaded by someone at his job. Now the two have to bake, keep their hands off of each other, and not fall in love with the other one. Simple, right? What happens when the pair finally get together is an explosion in the kitchen. But what will happen when Elizabeth finds out that Jackson deliberately throws the competition (subtly)? Good story. Love the fact that it is a Halloween baking contest but we are currently in the spring.

This was a very quick read based around a baking competition. Elizabeth hopes to win to help her mum, but Jackson only signed up after a drunken night with work colleagues. Sparks fly between the two and it’s interesting to read the goings on, as the cameras stop rolling.
An enjoyable fast pace read. The story-line is well written, funny, and interesting! The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is instant and steamy. A really good read; strongly recommended!

I liked that both Jackson and Elizabeth were part of a baking competition but for different reasons. I liked the chemistry between Jackson and Elizabeth in this short read and enjoyed their story.

Scary and Sweet Halloween Baking Contest
Sugar Lips by Kate Hunt is a fun and interesting story that I enjoyed reading. There are a number of descriptive things in the book that had me squirming, especially the eyeball bowl (read the story and you will find out about it).
The story-line is fun, a Halloween themed Bake-Off competition for TV, and the characters of Jackson and Elizabeth are both well developed and interesting. They each have different reasons for applying for the competition, her for the prize money and to make her sick mother proud of her and him because he was goaded into it by his fellow chefs. I liked the fact that she is a really good home baker that learned from her mother and he is a professional pastry chef who works in one of the best restaurants in town. She really wants to be there while he is more than a little pissed that he is and just wants to win it and get the the whole thing over.
But they find that one hug leads to more than a few sparks and revelations. Plus add a private green room with a locked door and soon they are whipping each other into a frenzy that can only be satisfied in one way!!!
I enjoyed this funny and engaging short story. Plus the ending was great but like a great dark chocolate ……….. it was done before I wanted it to be!!!
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Kate hunt done an outstanding job on this story. It’s short and sweet. The characters are fun and have loads of chemistry. The storyline is realistic. This is a must read if you love fun sexy romance.

Such a sweet story (pun intended)! It is short and I found I really did not want it to end as quickly as it did. This would make a really lovely full-length book since the characters were so endearing. It was nice to get a look at Jackson and Elizabeth four years down-the-road though!

Jackson and Elizabeth are competing on a baking show. He’s a pastry chef who entered on a dare when he was drunk. She’s a home baker who entered to win prize money to help with her mother’s medical bills. This was a really cute story, with some steam to it. I enjoyed it, and even though it was very short, it seemed like a complete story, with enough background to make it whole. And, of course, there’s a very happy ending. This was a great little lunchtime read!

Reality TV baking show find two contestants doing more than just baking for a win. Quick short read in one sitting that keeps it fun and lite for an afternoon break of reading.

Elizabeth reaches into the “eyeballs” bowl to make her choice of theme for the first baking challenge while the TV cameras record her reaction. The $10,000 prize money if she wins the contest could help pay her mom’s medical bills and maybe a small trip somewhere nice. There are nine competitors for this year’s Halloween Bake-Off. All but one of them is pleasant, except for the executive pastry chef named Jackson who looks grouchy whenever the cameras are not on him.
After the first round, Elizabeth is afraid she will be eliminated, but she makes it to Round Two! The contestants hug each other in relief, and when she finds her arms around Jackson, she is filled with butterflies. Jackson is only there because one of his buddies made a bet. But meeting Elizabeth, he knows he has fallen for her and his winning the competition doesn’t matter to him. She is now what he really cares about winning! Will she be willing to start dating him? Or will she just walk away?
This is a good story with Elizabeth competing for a worthy cause. Will she win the contest and be able to help her mom? And will she find love at the end of it all? Grab your copy and enjoy!
I really liked this book. The beginning started out a little slow for me. I felt like I wasnt really connecting with the characters or the story. I kept reading and I’m so glad that I did. Jackson and Elizabeth are hilarious and wonderful characters. I enjoyed how they figured out they were attracted to each other and not just rivals on a cooking show. When Jackson and Elizabeth figured out they wanted to be together was another bright point. Really liked the happy ever after. When I got to the end, I was sad cause I didn’t want it to end yet! Definitely recommend. Must read!
