He’s my biggest competition…and also my biggest turn-on.I’m determined as hell to win this Halloween Bake-Off. The prize money—$10,000—would help me pay off my mom’s medical bills and do some other nice stuff for her, too. Not to mention that it would be mind-blowing to be this year’s bake-off champion.I’m up against some stiff competition, though. Most intimidating? An executive pastry chef … executive pastry chef named Jackson. And it’s not just his credentials that make me feel shaken up…it’s also his mouth-watering good looks.
I absolutely can’t let myself get distracted by him, though. There’s too much at stake.
But it’s getting harder…and harder…to…concentrate…

This is a sweet quick read. Elizabeth enters a Halloween baking show needing to win 10,000 dollars. Her mother is sick and the medical bills are expensive. While on the show she meets Jackson who was goaded onto the show by his buddies. The attraction between the two of them is undeniable until finally they had to give in. Will their feelings for each other play a part in the outcome of the show?

I really enjoyed this fast paced, quick read by Kate Hunt! The characters, Jackson & Elizabeth, were fabulous. They had depth, history, emotion, heartbreak, internal struggle, passion, joy, sharing, and family. The communication and banter between them was smooth, easy, and natural; made you feel like “one of the gang” rather than a voyere.
Although it was a short read, it ticked all my boxes. Romance, small dose of angst (not one for HUGE climactic, hold your breath stuff all the time), great H/h, and some humor!

This was a sweet insta-lust romance.
Elizabeth enters a reality show baking competition hoping to win so she can help her Mom pay her medical bills. Jackson, an executive pastry chef at a restaurant, enters the competition on a drunken date with his coworkers. They end up in the final round competing for the $10,000 prize. After the competition they start dating. When the show airs they watch it with her Mom. Four years later they are married with a little bit and are competing in another baking competition.
