NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Sela and Beck’s deliciously sinful tale of sex, lies, and vengeance reaches its explosive conclusion in the final chapter of Sawyer Bennett’s Sugar Bowl trilogy For years Sela Halstead dreamed of revenge, but the quest for payback has been anything but sweet. Now, once again, she finds herself at the mercy of Jonathon Townsend, his hands crushing the very breath from … crushing the very breath from her body. And even though she escapes with her life, Sela fears she may never recover. In desperate need of shelter and comfort, she runs to the one man she can trust. Beckett North has stood by Sela since the beginning. But can he handle the brutal truth?
Beck will do anything to protect what is his—and make no mistake, Sela belongs to him, heart and soul. The passion between them runs hot, even as their world begins to unravel. With the legacy of his ruthless business partner hanging in the balance, Beck stands to lose everything: his fortune, his family, his freedom. But each touch of Sela’s mouth on his skin, her nails down his back, makes it harder to let her go—and it might not even be his choice to make.

Facing the consequences of their actions was the theme of the last story in the series, SUGAR FREE.
There was every bit as many interesting things, high emotion events and passionate encounters in book 3 but I’m a little in the fence with how things came to a conclusion.
Well, I never thought the story would have taken the twist it did in this book. There were times when I wanted to stop reading, because I couldn’t bear for any more plot twists. It all turned out well in the end and by the epilogue all strings were tied up in a bow (except for Dennis and Caroline, sadly). Great story and good ending, though there were times I could strangle some characters.
Sugar Bowl is definitely a 5 star series. Sela and Beck are left reeling after the events that unfolded at the end of Sugar Rush. My heart was in my throat for most of the book just waiting for the next shoe to drop. There was still the fair share of angst but it was just different than it was in the first two books. It was more “what would you do &/or sacrifice for the person you love” versus “the plotting, secrets and thirst for revenge”. I thought it was a great finale and had IMO one of the most satisfying epilogues I’ve ever read.
Sela finally got closure on her rape after so many years!
I was getting a little nervous there for a while because Beck was picked up for JT’s murder, even though Sela had actually committed the murder. After they let Beck out on bail, Sela decided to go to the police and tell them her story, well in the end, they ended up charging both, and this is where I got nervous of where the story was going to go, they had plans to runaway to a country that the US could not extradite them from. I thought for sure the story was going in that direction and I was not liking it!
Well, luckily it didn’t. A tape from JT’s home showing what had happened between JT and Sela was brought to the police and all charges were dropped!! YAY!!
This was a happy ending story. Beck and Sela were not able to have kids and guess what, they had Sophie and then she was pregnant with a second one!
I just loved this series. Sometimes it was a bit much, but that is what kept me into the story. I just loved the characters, even though at times I wanted to strangle Sela for not using her head when it came to going to JT’s house in the previous book, but in the end everything worked out!
I absolutely love this series and while I’m super excited with the way that Sela and Beck’s story ends, I hate that it is the end. I have been completely swept away with this series and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
Sugar Free is the third and final installment of the Sugar Bowl Series. If you have been living under a rock for a while and haven’t heard of it yet, please, stop reading and pick up book 1. This book cannot be read as a standalone and while I will do my best to not spoil anything for anyone, it is possible that something from earlier books could be spoiled.
This book picks up right after book 2, Sugar Rush, which ends on one mother of all cliffhangers. After being left hanging, the anticipation was boiling at an all time high. I was dying to find out what happens, so when you start this book you are right back to that adrenaline rush of being in the heart of one insane roller coaster.
Sela and Beck’s journey in this book is heart-wrenching and emotional but always hopeful. The love that these two have for each other is absolutely undeniable. They share a bond that some people will never be able to experience. Throughout the whole book, both of them show so much strength, love, vulnerability and overall loyalty.
In an attempt to keep this spoiler free, I’m just going to end this with how much I love Beck. Don’t get me wrong, I think Sela is one strong, bad-ass woman but there’s just something about Beck that calls me like a sailor to a siren. Role reversal at it’s best! 🙂 In this book, Beck is faced with situations that really shows not only how loyal he is to Stella but it shows more of his vulnerability. While he remains strong and supportive throughout their troublesome times, there are moments when he is vulnerable and everything about him is just so honest and raw. Add that to the fact that he does everything in his power to let everyone know and see just how much he loves Sela and he’s one of my all time favorite swoon worthy heroes.
“I remember every smile you’ve brought to my face, Sela. And I can’t wait for tomorrow because I’ll know you’ll do it again.”
Overall, I loved this book and the series and felt happy with the way it ended. As I’ve already said, I cannot recommend them enough. They will go down as some of my top books of the year. Don’t miss out! Start them now.
This conclusion to the Sugar Bowl series was everything I needed, wanted, craved, and desired. Sawyer absolutely hit the mark with this. I loved it!
This has to be my favorite couple of lines from the book:
What you and I have, Sela…no one will ever comprehend it. No one will ever come in between it. But it’s real and it’s ours and I’m never letting it go.
And I don’t think someone outside of their relationship ever will.
Sela has put herself, Beck, and Caroline into a pretty sticky situation.
The outcome?
You will just have to read and see for yourself.
If you haven’t started this series! Run and one click. It’s filled with twists and turns, heartbreak and the chemistry between Sela and Beck is HAWT! A must read. Devoured all 3 in 2 days. It will definitely hook you and have you on the edge of your seat until the end. I highly recommend this book.
More Lies.
New revelations.
Consequences.
Murder.
Justice.
Redemption.
SUGAR FREE starts out right were SUGAR RUSH left us…on a major cliffy where we are left wondering if Sela finally got her revenge against JT! *bites nails from anticipation* This book was about all the puzzle pieces falling into place. And Sawyer Bennett did a great job of tying up the series with this final book. There was some major plot twists that came to light, which made the readers jaw drop. To me, the premise of this book, was about protection. Beck will protect Sela at any cost. Beck is doing everything he can to keep the police from suspecting Sela in the murder of his business partner, JT, but that leaves him as a prime suspect. Even with Sela’s “self-defense” claim, no judge is going to accept that with the fact that she went to JT’s willingly and with a gun. “I’m going to be an automatic person of interest because I stand to get an entire multimillion-dollar company free and clear with his death.” –Beck. How will Sela and Beck get out of this new dilemma? Will Beck be found guilty of a crime he did not commit or will Sela turn herself in? Will they be able to build enough reasonable doubt to save them both from going to prison? “We try to hold this puzzle of lies together because we’re fueled by this love we have for each other.” –Sela.
Overall, I am happy with how this series ended. The journey of growth, salvation and redemption that these two characters went through was crazy. They definitely went to hell and back for themselves and each other from book 1 to book 3. In the end, they both got their retribution and HEA’s. But…I’m not going to “sugar coat” this, the reason I am giving this one 3 stars, was because of the pace. I personally felt like it took up until about 50% to really get moving and for me to really get into the book. All of the angst, twists and revelations were from around 50% to around 90%. Whereas in the first two books, I felt connected with the characters and loved the storyline, this final installment kind of drug on and was hard to get into. Lots of back and forth and indecision that I felt could’ve been summed up sooner or completely left out. And then from about 95% to the end, it all seemed too rushed. (I was worried this was going to happen). The epilogue was “meh” and put a nice little bow on Beck and Sela’s (and the secondary characters) story. All in all, the story left me happy with where their story ended, but my expectations unfortunately weren’t quite met for the rest of the book.
“This has gotten so goddamned complicated, I’m terrified that there’s no way out for either of us.” –Sela.
3 stars!
What a crazy conclusion to the wild series. I really enjoyed reading these books and this one is no different. I love how it picks up right where the last book ended. This is the book where secrets go to die, left out in the open where everyone can see. Sela and Beck must fight to stay together when the ramifications of Sela’s actions get her an Beck into trouble they aren’t sure they can shake. But they are a united from through the whole ordeal. Fighting to be each others savior.
I will say that the only thing I didn’t like were Sela’s bad decisions that always tend to affect Beck. But nonetheless I really enjoyed this series and I loved the ending.
