I thought he’d always be mine, even when I was forced to say goodbye. We were never meant to let go, but it happened anyway. Too bad I didn’t know someone was waiting to take my place, or I would’ve held on a lot tighter. Two years later, we were exactly where we’d always planned to be. I’d kept my promise. He’d forgotten all about his. Not only had he moved on, but the person he’d moved on with was … moved on, but the person he’d moved on with was my best friend, leaving me to begin college with a broken heart.
I guess this is the part where I’m supposed to tell you some other guy stepped in, repaired my shattered pieces, and made me smile again.
This isn’t that kind of story.
My heart might have been broken,
but it refused to fall out of love.

Besides the cheating this book was overall cute and innocent. It kind of gave me A Thousand Boy Kisses vibes. I even found myself shed a tear. Ella Fields created a beautiful love story. Though I couldn’t help but come to think that some parts seemed to be ripped from another book. Nonetheless, I still devoured the story.
I thought I could never sympathize with a cheater. But the characters were so adorable and together irresistible. I just have a soft spot for childhood sweethearts. They always give me so many feels.
Let’s face it. This book wasn’t perfect. I was annoyed with some situations and felt a little bitter about the heroes’ behaviour. But all the negativity was welcomed and on spot. Kind of…
FINAL RATING: 4.5*
I feel like this book has been on my shelves forever. I remember seeing someone on some social media raving about it, looking it up and reading the synopsis and thinking, I have to have this book. So, I bought the whole series and it’s been taunting me from my shelves ever since. This was a pretty solid 4 star read for me. There isn’t a whole lot of steam which is always disappointing in my book. But it made up for things with the level of angst it brought to the table. There were only brief moments when I was annoyed with Quinn or Daisy.. but Alexis better not ever get a redemption story. That bitch can kick rocks. That being said, I sort of wanted more about her part in the story. I feel like her hand in past events wasn’t dug into deep enough. I wanted more of that betrayal. That isn’t to say you don’t get the whole picture.. I just wanted a bigger picture I guess. My other sort of draw back was the writing got a little flowery for my tastes. Just straight up lovers of contemporary romance will LOVE that about this book though. But even with the sometimes flowery writing, I still felt all of the emotions these characters were having. Seriously, all of the feels. I found myself feeling things I hadn’t thought to feel since my own first love and first heartbreaks. And I want to feel those things when reading a romance. I mean, if you can make me feel it then I am gonna keep coming back to read you time after time. I did really enjoy the story.. for the first half or so of the book the reader gets glimpses of the past and I sort of wish that the author had just written the whole part about their past and then let us move on all at once to present time. But I can still see and totally understand the appeal of doing it the way it was done. But overall, this book and these characters had me not wanting to put this book down. I would recommend this to almost all romance readers. I say almost because there is one thing that happens in this book that a good portion of romance readers can find issue with and won’t read about it. So if you want to know what that is then I am happy to tell you in a private message, so as not to spoil anyone. I will for sure be continuing with this series and I’ve already bought two of Ella’s standalone novels so it’s obvious I plan on digging her for a long time to come. But I am so excited to get to some side characters from the book in the upcoming novels!
Nothing takes you back to being a teenager than a broken heart! I loved this story. I thought the characters were great. They grew up near one another, and were best friends. they thought they would be together forever, and they would but not before a little heart ache. I felt those emotions of seeing one another again. I felt Daisy heartache over having to leave and finding out her boyfriend and her best friend were now together. I didn’t like the cheating, but it happens. I think they truly were better after going thru those experiences. The ending perfect! I love know what comes next for them!
Sometimes life throws unexpected scenarios at us. One day it seems as if your entire future is planned, right down to that last little detail. And then the next day everything changes. Your carefully constructed future crumbles around you. You try and overcome this situation through sloppy alternatives, but that also comes crashing down.
Suddenly Forbidden is that. Two childhood friends who fall in love as young teenagers. From inseparable to separated, Daisy and Quinn learn what heartache is at tender ages. With the spontaneous promises they make each other and the seeming impenetrable bond they solidified, nothing should be able to separate them. But something does; when Daisy’s dad accepts his new job, requiring them to relocate, Daisy and Quinn are forced to rely on some sweet promise they made: to attend Gray Springs University.
“This thing called love didn’t work like that. It never played fair.”
While two years have passed and distance has ceased all contact between the childhood friends, Daisy’s feelings towards Quinn haven’t changed. Between quietly creating beautiful artwork that reflects her feelings, befriending her sweet roommate Pippa and enjoying the atmosphere college offers, Daisy hopes Quinn fulfilled his promise.
But when Daisy finally faces Quinn, the one person she has only ever wished to be with, she never expected her childhood sweetheart to have moved on. Once hers, he is now unobtainable, forbidden.
“You and me… like the moon and the stars, we’re permanent.”
How do you stay away from someone who has always been yours? Who was your first everything? Even when they aren’t yours anymore? It is hard, as Daisy and Quinn prove by treading dangerous lines whenever they are near each other. Time or distance didn’t fully severe the connection they forged as children.
“Because without the stars, the moon is left alone to battle the dark.”
I really loved Suddenly Forbidden. It is a sweet, heart-wrenching story about childhood sweethearts and second chance romance, never-ending love that neither time nor distance can destroy. It is about love and loss, hopes, dreams and forgiveness. Ella Fields writing is poetic and lyrical. You are drawn straight into Daisy and Quinn’s emotional story. You can feel their emotions weaved through the words.
Ella Fields Suddenly Forbidden. Tell me that title doesn’t automatically make you want to clutch your heart for the pain and angst you know is about to come. There was so much hype over this book, it was ridiculous. I tend to steer clear of books that have been hyped up too much, as they tend to let me down a lot. But this book, THIS. BOOK. I never saw it coming. It’s heartbreak in serious doses. I’d read only one other book by this author so I was still eager to read more of her work.
Suddenly Forbidden is a standalone full-length novel about second chances, forbidden love and trying so hard to fight against your feelings. Daisy and Quinn and childhood sweethearts, so deeply in love with each other from a young age, it was a rare sight to see. And then fate disrupts their love, forcing Daisy to move away and leave Quinn behind. While they promised each other they’d keep in touch, life got in the way and egos were bruised. However, the two made a pact to go to the same college. Imagine Daisy’s surprise when she goes back and Quinn has moved on with their other best friend, Alex.
This book is a rollercoaster ride of emotions that I wasn’t prepared for but couldn’t get enough of. It contains cheating but it’s the kind of love story that songs and movies are made of. That little girl’s dream of when they think about their happily ever after. Yeah, we can do without the angst, heartache, and pain, but I think it was worth it. All these obstacles and tribulations needed to be overcome so that their love could come out stronger than ever. While I’m not the biggest fan of cheating in books, this one made me understand. It provided me with a different perspective and basically was written so flawlessly into this book, I barely flinched.
A beautifully forbidden love story that will remain with me for years to come.

I took my time to read this book.. it will tear you to the core.. its not what you think of Romance..I love love Ella play with the feelings..Daisy and Quinn had it together.. I cant say enough about the emotions when I read the books.. Love can be naive, cruel, loving and heartfelt… this is a book that you wont want to miss.. its everything i love about young love
So excited finally got a chance to get into Suddenly Forbidden, i bought it as soon as i saw all the big recommendations came and i am so glad i did.
I really loved this story, this was my first Ella Fields books and i loved her writing it was so easy to read and so enjoyable and exciting.
This story is based in college and i am loving these type of stories at the moment and this book did not disappoint. I love the back story these two characters had and i loved how at the beginning we went between the past and present and we could connect with the characters.
When we find out what had happened between these two and what happened when they finally got to college you just knew there was going to be angst, drama and a lot of back and forth.
I loved Daisy i thought she was sweet and had a big heart and she felt everything with it and followed it even if it was set to break and i felt so sorry for her in certain parts.
Quinn i actually felt sorry for he just didn’t know how to handle his situations and at times i think he felt like he was drowning.
I don’t want to say too much as i think everyone just needs to go in blind and really enjoy and get really into the story
Absolutely loved it and can’t wait to read more Ella Fields books
Massive 5 Stars for this book
This is the first novel that I have read by Ella Fields and it won’t be the last. This book was recommended to me by someone in a reader group that I’m a member of and so I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad that I took a chance on this author I enjoyed her style of writing and the overall develpment of the story.
Suddenly Forbidden is the story of childhood friends Daisy and Quinn and their journey to finding happiness and love. At the age of fifteen when all changed between Daisy and Quinn they no longer saw eachother as ”kids” but something more, Daisy gives her heart to Quinn in the blink of an eye her father had a new job on the horizon, and they had to move away. Quinn and Daisy vowed to stay in touch and meet up in college. Little did they know what that meant and what it would do to the state of their relationship
This book grabs you right from the start, the emotions you feel with Daisy and Quinn were so intense. There was no doubt how much these two were meant to be with each other. Although this novel involves cheating I belive that it was essential to the story. This book gave me all the feels and for that reason it is much more than your typical young adult novel. You will root for these two from the very first page and will fall in love with the secondary characters as well. Looking forward to continuing the journey with book two! Great job Ella!!
*Because without the stars, the moon is left alone to battle the dark…”
*5 amazing stars*
Once in a while there’s this book that makes you want so much more and this one is definitely it. My first read from this author and it certainly won’t be the last one. I don’t really know how this review will give the story the justice it deserves ‘cuz it was so amazing. I couldn’t stop reading; I just wanted to keep on going and that’s when I know the story will leave an imprint on me 🙂 I adored Daisy and Quinn and the connection they had. I kept rooting for them to find their way back to each other.
You’ll have to read the book to know if they get a happy ending…
Daisy and Quinn grew up together and with the years going by their connection grows into something strong. They easily fall from friendship to a blossoming love; nothing can seem to seperate them but when Daisy’s dad gets a job somewhere else, she and her family have to move away. Even though they try to maintain a relationship, Daisy and Quinn fall apart. Now two years later they are going to the same college and Daisy hopes they will find their way back to each other but nothing is as it seems and Daisy’s heart is broken once again. But when Quinn learns the truth, maybe there’s still a chance for them…
4,5 stars
A few weeks ago a dear friend recommended to read Ella Fields.
Yeah, this happens a lot, I know. But if someone recommends a book or an author there´s always a fat chance, that you don´t like it. Not with Ella Fields!
And Suddenly Forbidden is no exception. This book is the story of Daisy and Quinn, who´ve known each other since they were kids. First they were best friends and then they were childhood sweethearts. Inseparable until the day Daisy had to move away with her family. They promised each other to meet again and let their love grow and last forever. Daisy did, but Quinn moved on (asshole). But did he?
Until chapter 22 I was constantly crying. I couldn´t stop, I felt so sad. I couldn´t believe that Quinn made Daisy responsible for leaving two years ago. It wasn´t her choice, she was a child and had to leave with her parents. And I couldn´t believe he broke his promises to her!!! I´ve never had my own heart broken, but Quinn broke not only Daisys heart, but mine too. The whole story was gut-wrenching and I loved every minute and every word.
Thank you for sharing this story!
I have always been taught that two wrongs do not make a right. However, it is my strong belief that if something is meant to be, there is no amount of wrong that can keep it from happening. All things in the universe have a natural order. No matter the challenge, they will inevitably exist as they should.
The story of Daisy and Quinn is exactly the type of story which proves my belief to be true.
Ella Fields, with her bewitching words, pulled me, head first, into the lives of these characters. She spun me around as their lives spiraled into an unrecognizable place from which they were not sure they could ever return. She then guided me through the often tough and sometimes beautiful journey they braved to get home. Finally, this talented author met me at the front door with a much needed embrace to reassure me that all things manifest as they are meant to be. For the time I spent immersed in the pages of this book and for days after, I was a part of the Daisy and Quinn’s world. Their friends were my friends, I laughed with them in their times of joy, I cried with them and consoled them when their hearts were broken, the wonder and revelations they experienced, were moments forever etched in my memory.
Reading Suddenly Forbidden was an emotional experience which evoked extremely visceral reactions. Only the most skilled of writers are capable of providing these intense interactive experiences for readers. It is not an easy task to manipulate words in such a way that they bring the reader into the story so they feel involved in the characters lives and interactions. Ella Fields has managed to do this quite masterfully. Ms. Fields writing strengthens with each book she crafts. Suddenly Forbidden is an intense and deeply satisfying read.
Oh my freaking goodness the ANGST GODS have spoken with this one and days after finishing this story I still feel like my heart is in the pit of my stomach every time I think back to Daisy and Quinn. Their story has left me completely speechless and I am still struggling to form my words properly enough to perfectly express my thoughts about this phenomenally captivating story that has quickly become one of my favorite reads of 2018! Oh and did I mention that Ella Fields is officially part of my top 2o favorite authors of all time…because she totally is!
Suddenly Forbidden is a story about young love and the mistakes that both sides make before they finally reach their happily ever after moment. This story was real and beautifully captured the feeling of heartache and how to cope with the possibility of losing your one true love. Love is messy and Ella Fields does an outstanding job at showing readers that unpredictable side of it. We may not always understand why, but love will test and only the strongest will survive. If love wasn’t so complicated, then you would never know the truth behind it.
Daisy and Quinn’s love story will pull on your heartstrings and leave you breathless time and time again. Before you even reach the midway point of this story you will find yourself completely invested in their emotional journey and you will find yourself on the edge of your seat wondering what the heck will happened next. I found myself in tears during many parts of their story and felt as if my heart was experiencing everything that they were. These two certainly sent my heart into overdrive. This story won’t be an easy one to read for some, but trust me when I say it’s all worth it in the end because love will conquer all!
This has such a beautiful cover I had to check it out. Thankfully the cover matches the beautiful story. I absolutely loved it.
The intensity of first love and the heartbreak when it’s taken away from them.
First love never truly dies not when it’s a love like Quinn and Daisy shared. It will always find it’s way back.
I was intrigued by the blurb and I was interested to see how it will all work out.
These two were meant to be together, they just had to find their way back.
I will say that while this book was pretty childish in places I did enjoy it. The cheating aspect wasn’t what I thought it would be. Quinn was such a good guy but his love for the Daisy hurt others and added to the drama of the story. I do think that the same drama could have been achieved without making such a good guy a cheater. I’m the type of reader that enjoys the angst of cheating but to me, with these characters it really didn’t fit for me. Maybe if Quinn was at least a little bit of a jerk it would have worked better but he wasn’t. The second chance these characters got was slow going but I did feel their love for each other. I do plan to read the next book. Pippa and Toby have me intrigued. 3 stars #2OCCJD
“I’m not scared. You and me … like the moon and the stars, we’re permanent.”
I read this book back in January, and still to this day, I can’t think about it without having my heart break a little for what Daisy had to go through.
Everything that Ella Fields writes is magnificent. This woman knows how to pull all the stops that have you heaving and crying and loving right along with everyone else.
I loved everything about Quinn and Daisy. These kids were their first everything and last everything. And stories like that just make everything so much more beautiful.
Now, there’s not to say I didn’t want to throttle Quinn a few times. I was so mad at him in the beginning. But, at the end of the day, being told one thing and believing it can’t really be at fault.
Alexis…. you, I hate. Sneaky, sneaky mouse.
Pippa and Toby… if you go to my Bittersweet Always review, you’ll see jus how much I love them. Being only secondary character in this story, they made such a huge impact on my heart.
All the characters in this book were perfectly written. You loved them, you hated them, you found them annoying, you found them hilarious. I’m telling you, Ella Fields is a goddess when it comes to words.
5 Stars to this gut wrenching book.
This book had me at the warning. I say bring on the angsty love triangle second chance cheating storyline. My fake reading world loves a good cheating book. It’s not going down in my real life so I love to read all about it in my fictional one. No juggies here, my pretend friends. Pass the popcorn! Sure, I thought Daisy was being a tad bit delusional thinking that Quinn would wait for her. That girl was hanging on to their dream for dear life. I wasn’t really sold on Quinn for a bit, but the dude grew on me. The boy just didn’t know how to deal with his broken heart and went about it the wrong way. But really, show me someone who can deal with all of that mess perfectly. Uh, no one. I can say, I was all about this book. I wanted to see where it was going and how it was going to end. It had me hooked. I can’t wait to read Pippa and Toby’s book. Pippa is very creative in the swearing department. I need to find out what is up with Toby.

Review Ella Fields is a slayer!
From the first teaser. From the first excerpt. From the first chapter. This author just soooo good, i think when she ploting her books she was like,” how can i slay my readers heart???”
Because that she do effortlessly.
Daisy and Quinn..these hearthrob couple, a young love that people uderestimated of how deep and strong they feel just captured me from the start. I feel their innocent love. I feel their heartbreak. I love every moment in their story. And their first time together? Precious!
OMG i couldn’t stop talking about them now. Read and finish in one sitting, this book is everything you want in a romance
Ella Fields has been one of my favorite authors since I was lucky enough to win a copy of Corrode (if you haven’t read it, you should grab it now.
Anyway, Suddenly Forbidden is an angst-ridden story about an all encompassing love that survives time, silence, betrayal, and pain.
Quinn and Daisy are what you would call two halves of a whole. They are, and always will be, inevitable. They share a connection so strong, no amount of distance or time could break it.
Childhood sweethearts from the start, they’ve shared a bond of friendship that evolved into a deeper emotion, they fell into a love so deep, they knew from that young of an age that they are meant to be.
But just as we experience in real life, Quinn and Daisy go through a series of highs and lows, of nostalgia and sadness, and the trials of everyday life as college students.
Ella Fields has delivered a very realistic story of love between soul mates that defies time and distance. She will take you on an epic journey of love and the trials and tribulations it will take you through as you see these characters you begin to love go through every single emotion, trying to find happiness.
I hurt for both Daisy and Quinn while reading this story, watching them make mistakes and face the consequences of those actions was painful. I wanted to step in, I really did. Ella will seriously pull your heartstrings with this one.
Are you ready?
This book was frustrating. Quinn was a jerk and they get their HEA but it wasn’t rushed but I felt like things were missing. Once he found out Alexa was lying to him about Daisy he should have broken up with her. The girl destroys her room and belongings and art and nothing happens to her? The whole break up and him not thinking she was waiting for was kinda lame. They were young but still it was kinda disappointing. Also I did love the end they get their HEA and them together with their child was adorable.
Second chances. Lots of angst. Broke my heart but then pieces it together again. Absolutely wonderful love story for a great author.
