I thought he’d always be mine,even when I was forced to say goodbye. We were never meant to let go, but it happened anyway. Too bad I didn’t know someone was waiting to take my place, or I would’ve held on a lot tighter.Two years later, we were exactly where we’d always planned to be. I’d kept my promise.He’d forgotten all about his. Not only had he moved on, but the person he’d moved on with was … moved on, but the person he’d moved on with was my best friend, leaving me to begin college with a broken heart.
I guess this is the part where I’m supposed to tell you some other guy stepped in, repaired my shattered pieces, and made me smile again.
This isn’t that kind of story.
My heart might have been broken,
but it refused to fall out of love.

“You and me … like the moon and the stars, we’re permanent.”
With her fourth book, Ella created something beautifully heartbreaking. I really enjoyed her Surface Rust duo and already knew she had a great talent to touch our hearts. But with Suddenly Forbidden she did so much more!
“And underneath the stretch of dark skies, we were each other’s stars.”
Reading this book was like being in a constant heartache. At least I’d say for the first 2/3rd. My heart broke right at the beginning and continued to stay in this state until the end when it finally was mend again. Ella has a wonderful way to write beautiful characters and you can’t help yourself relating to them and feel what they feel.
“There really were no winners when it came to games of the heart. Unless you count your miseries as victories.”
Daisy and Quinn are such a cute main characters. So real. They seem to be perfect. But they show us, that non of us is perfect. Everyone has flaws and makes mistakes or bad decisions. And that’s ok, because we are all human. Daisy lives for her heart and expresses her feelings with art. I could totally rely to her heart break and I felt it deep inside me with every page. I asked my self repeatedly if I’d made the same decisions or not. But honestly, who could say so? Love makes us sometimes do stupid things we can’t really explain.
Besides those two main characters we get to know Alexis, Cullum, Pippa and Toby. They are all great in their own ways. Even though Alexis will most likely be your least favorite. Ella, would you mind taking up the story of Pippa and Toby? They have so much potential and I would love to read more of those guys!
“I love you. Whether this lasts seconds, minutes, or an hour, it’ll last forever where it counts.”
The story of Daisy and Quinn is told in dual POV and contains certain back flashes to their past. We learn how they grew up together and fell in love. How they were separated by fate and that they both dealt badly with the separation. Now in the present at college they meet each other again and have to face a heartbreaking truth. Ella let’s us experience a world of love, hurt, betrayal and growing up. I really like to say more here, but some things are better left unsaid, because it would spoil your reading experience.
“She was my first in every way, in a way that messed up something fundamental inside me, when I realized we weren’t going to be each other’s last.”
Suddenly Forbidden is an angst filled second chance romance that’ll make your heart hurt in every possible way. It makes you feel things so deeply, that’ll twist your insides and you just want it to stop. And it will, because the end is an emotional explosion that has been built up through the whole book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Wow this book blow me away. This book will have you needing extra feeling to get through this amazing book.. Ive not had the words to put together how amazing this book is. I’ve loved Ella writing from the first book that I’ve read and have always had a hard time putting the books down. This book will hold you through out tell the very end. And you will have a major book hangover after reading..
Wow Suddenly Forbidden left me speechless, Ella’s words can do that to you!!
The story of Quinn and Daisy, a second chance romance novel..
Quinn and Daisy Story started when they were just kids, being childhood friends and sharing lots of important moments and memories.. they thought they will be together forever, they thought they would get married and some day have their happily ever after.. promises will be broken and life will separate them.. not knowing what the future would bring, nothing has prepare them for what destiny had instore..
“We more than meant a lot to each other. We were the breeze that ruffled the dandelions. The sun that scorched our skin red until we searched for reprieve under our favorite willow tree. and underneath the stretch of dark skies, we were each other’s stars”
Quinn never thought she could forget him, she never thought he would move on.. But something happens that their life changed forever… not everything is what it seems.. friendships will be at stake and their love will be at test.. Only they can save their heart and soul..
“she was my first in every way, in a way that messed up something fundamental inside me when i realized we weren’t going to be each other’s last”
Daisy is now ready to start her college degree, happy that finally her life has come to this point where she thought she will see him and meet him again.. she had some much hope in her heart that she was afraid he wouldn’t attend to and see her again, like they promise years ago.. but her dreams would be crashed very soon, because not everything we wanted and wish for, comes out the way we want…
“You can be the most beautiful person in the world and that doesn’t mean a damn thing if you’re a shitty human”
She took what belonged to her, she had a piece of her heart too. They were the most inseparable friends but after seeing them together, she is not sure her feelings where mutual.. She wasn’t sure if she was still her friend or it was just the memories of what they shared… only when she started to feel her heart broken into million pieces, she would understand what her friendship meant..
but not matter if her heart was aching, she’s not afraid to love because she always had so much love to give…
This is a very beautiful love story… since the beginning of the book you can feel the love between Quinn and Daisy, they were meant to be together, no matter how young they were.. love doesn’t have age.. but also, you can feel the growth on the characters, how slowly their innocent love start to change with time into something more mature.. nobody could understand this amazing love Quinn and Daisy had, not even their parents, not even their “best friend”.. but they would have to understand lets just hope is not too late..
Favorite quotes of Suddenly Forbidden
“You smell and taste like my heart and feel like f… heaven”
“Because without the stars, the moon is left alone to battle the dark”
There’re other important characters in the story of Quinn and Daisy, like Pippa she is a very solid rock in Daisy’s life, without her, Daisy wouldn’t had survive.. Toby another amazing character and somehow a support for Quinn.. Callum who is going through something similar to Daisy and in someway they keep trying to help each other, to sooth their mutual pain.. and last but not least wait until you meet Alexis aka the back stabbing B…. you’ll need to have a shovel near by to dig her own grave lol that’s all I’m going to say..
This was another Great book by Ella Field’s, emotional, angsty but always full of love and real life situations.. what i love about Ella’s words is, she always make you feel the characters so deep, is like in someway you feel the feelings of each character, like if you were really living that situation or walking on the characters shoes.. it’s deep, is vibrant and as always very original with a lot of twists that you won’t see them coming..
Wishing so badly that Pippa and Toby get their own story..
“That was the thing about first love. People often said a first love stayed with you long after you met your second, third, or even fourth love. What they failed to mention was that kind of permanence resonated deeper for some and made it almost impossible to let go. Leaving you to walk the earth feeling as though you were constantly missing a part of yourself.” -Daisy
Every once in a while, I come across these rare gems in the book world. A book that seems to speak to me with just one glance at the blurb or cover…SUDDENLY FORBIDDEN was THAT book for me. It left utterly floored by how fast I devoured it and how much I LOVED it!!! I feel like Ella Fields wrote this book with me in mind LOL…it is an angst junkies “wet dream” *wink*.
SUDDENLY FORBIDDEN is about a childhood friendship turned to first love and then life happens- distance and time, bad decisions are made, and the result of the choices consequently bring heartbreak and misunderstanding, but somehow fate has its hand in everything and brings them back each other, but before they can be together again, they have to live with the choices that they made…everything is suddenly forbidden now and they have to navigate these new obstacles in life in order to find their HEA.
“My heart, even now, refused to listen. It was failing to comprehend what my brain kept repeating to it. That access to its counterpart was now suddenly forbidden.” -Daisy.
I can NOT praise this book enough! I LOVED it with all my heart, body and soul and it has easily become an instant TOP fav read for the year. It produced ALL.THE.FEELS in me! It was an emotional roller-coaster that I did NOT want to get off of! This book has shredded my heart to pieces, mending it back together completely different and I know it’ll never be the same again! I was utterly consumed with only thoughts of Quinn and Daisy’s story for days…I’m anticipating a major book hangover now that I am done. It kept me up nearly all-night reading and thinking about it and when I wasn’t reading it, I wanted to lock myself in a room and finish it! The writing was BEYOND compelling! I absolutely loved the way Ella Fields interwove the past and present chapters and used dual POV’s. That resulted in me getting packed with emotions from every angle and from both characters perspective. The emotions were inescapably evident and pulled at my heart strings! For reals, I am telling everyone I know to stop everything and read this book now! Ella Fields is a must watch author for me now. I WILL be working my way through her backlist!
“You’ve always belonged to me. Your every first was mine to keep.”
SUDDENLY FORBIDDEN is truly in a class of its own. So, if you’re into reading books with young first loves, second chances, a big dose of forbidden and TONS of emotion…THIS BOOK is for you! #Bringonthepain

Before I could even write a review I had to message Ella Fields about this one. In lieu of a normal review I’m going to share what I told her-
“I’ve just finished Suddenly Forbidden. With happy tears flowing… I don’t know how you do it, but my heart is exploding!
I adored Cyanide and Corrode. But there is something so absolutely special to me with Frayed Silk and Suddenly Forbidden. These 2 captured my heart and soul. ”
Suddenly Forbidden is sweet, frustrating and soulful. Ella perfectly captured the emotion and depth of first, young love.
“That was the thing about first love. People often said a first love stayed with you long after you met your second, third, or even fourth love.”

Growing up together, Daisy and Quinn have been through everything with each other. Now at 16, Daisy has been forced to move away due to her father taking a new job.
Your first love is one you will never forget. The promises you’ve made to each other will be with you forever. But when one moves on, you are forced to go on in life with a hole in your heart that never heals.
Now in college, in the same college Daisy and Quinn are brought together once again. It’s not a smooth ride at all. When you’ve never forgotten each other and the promises you’ve made to each other, will fate allow you to reconnect or is it life’s way of saying you are better off without each other.
This emotional journey of love had me hooked. The writing is perfectly flowing. What a great story Ella Fields has written for us!

Wow! This book was absolutely amazing. Ella has written a phenomenal book. I’m so glad I got to read this one early. The writing is beautifully written and it pulls you in right from the very beginning. I don’t think I’ve read a book like this in a long time. Without giving too much away, my favorite scenes were the flashbacks. Absolutely amazing read. I’ll definitely be adding this to my collection.
This book absolutely gut-punched me. My stomach literally roiled while reading portions of this book. I shed some tears, laughed and smiled. I totally felt the pain Daisy was enduring. Young love can be so unfair in my eyes. This was one of those books that grabbed me by the bootstraps and had me settling in for the long haul. My mind was totally enraptured by this tail and I wanted nothing more than to read chapter after chapter through the night until I was finished.
This book comes with an author warning that it contains elements of cheating – WHAT! That was totally a side line for me and I was of the opinion that it was border-line cheating, if anything. Obviously, I can’t expand on my thinking process, that would be a spoiler, but in my mind, the male in this story tried to finish one relationship before starting another but she was on to him and wouldn’t let it happen. People got what they deserved in this one, both good and bad, although some got more than their fair share of heart-wrenching pain. Lessons in love can be tough.
The story was written in dual POV as well as in both present and past (some chapters were flashbacks). This style helps the reader get a really good sense about the connection between the three main characters and helped me form my opinions on what I felt should happen to make things right. I pretty much loved all the characters to some degree, even if I didn’t agree with their choices or actions, except for one. You’ll know who she is when you read the book. She broke all the rules and loved playing the victim. She was a manipulative b—h who definitely made my skin crawl and brought out my claws. She was very lucky that Daisy was above revenge because she had it coming in spades. Even the side characters were intriguing enough for me to be enticed into reading their story should the author decide to tell in in a future book. Of course, she’ll have to promise to give us a glimpse at Quinn and Daisy again!
Quinn’s actions were probably what you would expect from a seventeen-year-old hormonal teenager. Love is tough at the best of times but the struggles he and Daisy had to face were unfair. The cards were stacked against them and I totally wish Daisy had confronted her parents. In my mind, they caused all the turmoil, or at least didn’t help the situation any. Quinn did what he thought was right, even if we struggle to understand his choice. Misunderstandings and miscommunications are definitely alive and well in this book.
All in all, this was a favourite for me because the story grabbed my attention, I was totally invested in finding out how it played out, it had me feeling everything the characters were feeling and best of all, the author actually finished the book properly. When I got to The End, although I was so sad to see it end, it had a real ending. Things were not left undone or unsaid. The author gave us time to swirl in the happiness that we were craving throughout the story. The poetic lines and words spoken were another part that made this book stand out from others. Not all writers can spin a tale like this and make it believable, but Ella Fields had me believing young love is not always star-crossed, it can survive the hardships and the couples can be so much better off for it.
Where oh where do I begin? This book is life. It encompasses all those moments in life that help shape us into the people we are. It is first love. It is friendship. It is heartbreak. It is betrayal. It is trust. It is life and it is unconditional. Ultimately, it is the journey to discovering what are you willing to fight for and what you are willing to let go. It is the joy of love juxtaposed with the agony of that comes from heartbreak.
I knew going into this book that I was going to be in for a bumpy ride especially since the cover said, “He loved me; he loved her too.” Holy titfire. I knew that I better get the kleenex out pronto because this author is known to tear my heart out and make it bleed. Ella writes with such a mesmerizing style that sets her apart from so many of her peers. There is grace and emotion and it is written with such fluidity that you cannot help but feel the words she spills onto the pages. Instead of using paint and a canvas the words are her paint and the pages are her canvas. If I close my eyes I can picture every facet of what she is saying and at times I am certain that if I reach out I can touch or even smell what she is describing. Her love and passion for writing comes through in every way especially in the dynamics of character development. This book showcases that talent with some of the best characters that I have ever read.
Daisy and Quinn.We first meet them as young children and get to see how this love grew. They are each other’s sun and moon. Their connection is pure and shows the beautiful side of love through its innocence. It reminds me of Melanie and Jake from Sweet Home Alabama (one of my favorite movies). There is steam but it not as much as normal. It is secondary in this story. If anything it is as if to show that love is so much more than just the physical aspect of a relationship. While it is important there still needs to be a spark of something more.
I could write so much more but I am stopping myself because I do not want to give away any part of the story. It would not be fair because if I did then you would miss the amazing journey. Trust me on this. Just go in blind and enjoy.
This book is magic. Plain and Simple. It touched my heart. It made me melancholy for that period of my life.It made me thankful for the journey I have been on in my life because it reminded me that sometimes we need a bumpy ride to make us appreciate what we have or sometimes we are where we are because of things that might or might not have happened in the past. The Universe always seems to guide us and have a plan.
Kudos to the author for another fantastic book. Keep writing all the words and I will continue to follow you down the rabbit hole.
This has such a beautiful cover I had to check it out. Thankfully the cover matched the beautiful story. I absolutely loved it. The intensity of first love and the heartbreak when it’s taken away from them.
First love never truly dies not when it’s a love like Quinn and Daisy shared. It will always find it’s way back. I was intrigued by the blurb and I was interested to see how it will all work out.
These two were meant to be together, they just had to find their way back.
The rush you feel when you finish a book that had you glued to the pages, not wanting to do another thing until you read the last page is like no other. Suddenly Forbidden captured my heart from the prologue and I practically held my breath throughout the book.
Quinn and Daisy—friends since childhood until it turned into true, heart-stopping love. You felt their love wrap around your heart and couldn’t possibly imagine anything tearing them apart. Until the day they’re forced apart and both of their worlds are obliterated.
When Daisy arrives at college, the place she was hoping he’d be waiting for her, she finds that he moved on—with her best friend. Knife, chest, tears. God, I was a hot mess.
“…he was all I saw; I never saw anything else.
I don’t know if I could ever exist without you.
Well, clearly he could.”
The journey to their second chance wasn’t an easy one, and I honestly felt like I was put through the ringer with the beating my heart took, but GOD, I loved every second of it. Ella Fields’ writing is absolutely incredible, perfectly describing how torn Quinn and Daisy are, but also how their love is like no other.
“We were the breeze that ruffled the dandelions. The sun that scorched our skin red until we searched for reprieve under our favorite willow tree.
And underneath the stretch of dark skies, we were each other’s stars.”
I’ve read several of Ella Fields’ books, and I have to say that this one is my favorite so far. Do not miss this incredible story and I’m here for you to hold your hand! Loved it!!!
What an absolutely, stunning read from Ella Fields! Another hard won love story that only Ella can write and make you feel everything. And when I say everything… I mean making you sob uncontrollably one minute then scream and laugh the next minute… BEAUTIFUL character development. Quinn and Daisy’s relationship is one that will always stay with me. Forever.
I’m not one of those people that believes a trigger warning should be issued if a book contains cheating, but I also don’t seek those types of books out either. I went into this book with my eyes wide open, I knew it contained cheating before I started but, I was intrigued by the synopsis enough that I wanted to give it a try. Plus, one of my trusted book people has been shouting about it, so I knew she wouldn’t steer me wrong. And, sheesh. All. The. Feels. Ella Fields, yet another author that has been hidden from me. What the heck, guys? Why? I’m totally blown away by what I’ve just read. I do not remember the last book that had me this invested in the characters and what would happen next. I swore…. a lot. I wanted to throw my kindle on several occasions, I chuckled, and I shed a few tears. Ella is a queen! Her writing just draws you in and keeps hold of you. Making you feel things you don’t want to, making you think things you never thought you would, and making you question everything you thought you believed. I’m still in awe and I can’t stop thinking about this book, I can’t move on to anything else. Ella has broken me. In the best way possible. I know I’ll be spending time with these characters again.
These characters, Gah! I had so many different emotions throughout this book when it came to the characters. I adored Daisy and Pippa. At times I wanted to smack Quinn in the face BUT, he did win me over in the end. I was unsure about Callum, but it didn’t take long before he found a place in my heart. I want more Callum! Alexis? I don’t remember the last time I disliked a character as much as I disliked her, in fact, I might even go as far as to say I hated her. I’m pretty sure I was supposed to feel sorry for her, but I just couldn’t. The things she did, the way she acted. No! I really hope there are plans for books for Callum and Pippa, they both need to have their stories told.
The connection between Daisy and Quinn was beautiful and you could feel it, it jumps out from the pages and hits you. The chapters that showed how they were when they were younger really added to this story, it gave them depth and allowed us as readers to connect to them individually and see their growth as people. Seeing them through the years and their connection, it really makes what happens gut-wrenching and heart-breaking. I felt everything. I’m still feeling everything. These are not perfect characters, they make mistakes, but they own them. They’re not intentionally malicious, they’re young and finding their way. The epilogue, man, it is just perfect, everything you could hope and wish for as you read this story. This is a second chance romance that will have you reading well into the night and reminding you why you love to read, especially the romance genre.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Quinn was looking at me funny when I stood, brushing the dirt from my hands onto my pants.
“What?” I asked absently and started walking back to his house.
“I’m gonna marry you someday, Daisy June.”
My breathing stopped at the same time my feet did.
Spinning around, I stuck my hands on my hips and planted a smirk on my face, hoping it hid the weird feeling bubbling in my tummy. “Really?”
He nodded, grinning like he did when he acted like he knew everything.
“Yep. One day, after we get done with college and I take over this farm, you’ll be my wife.” He stepped closer, and my heart started beating scary fast. “And I’ll make sure you never have to see another rooster get its head chopped off again.”
Grabbing my hand, he leaned down, and I felt the warm brush of his lips on my sticky cheek.
He didn’t say anything else, and neither did I. We trudged back through the weeds with grins on our faces and the stars glowing behind us like a smiling audience.
I didn’t realize what had happened at the time. Why I felt like I could hear my heart echoing in my ears, or why I couldn’t stop smiling for days afterward.
Looking back, I realized that was the first time Quinn Burnell stole a huge chunk of my heart.
I was never fond of cheating.That’s a fact but then it’s part of life.Believe it or not.Everyone can cheat.Everyone will cheat maybe not in the sense that that person will be with another but there’s also a lot of things that can be called as cheating.In this book the guy cheated with the girl’s bestfriend.And that was painful.This story is kinda common for me actually but I loved how the author wrote it.The emotions and all.Awesome
I’ve read all of Ella’s previous books and loved them so I shouldn’t have been as surprised by the beauty of this NA read as I was. No one writes about messy love and how beautiful it can be like Ella Fields.
Second time reading this book and still loved it just as much as the first. Daisy and Quinn’s story is one about first loves and true long lasting love. Even the obstacles that they faced, they still found a way to find their happily ever after!
Beautiful!!!
This story brought joy to my heart. It has a wonderful flow and I did not want to put it down. This is my 1st Ella Fields book and I will definitely pick her up again.
Young Love at it’s best
All the struggles, choices, decisions and reactions to some actions were relatable.
I LOVE the heroine Daisy! She is fabulous. I’m so proud of her. I wish she hadn’t experienced what she did but “Life” that’s what that is.
I also love Quinn. He loved with all his heart. With all of himself. He couldn’t stop the way he loved her even if he tried. While some of his choices made me sad & they hurt I understood the ‘Why’.
OMG! I loved Quinn’s parent’s. Daisy’s roommate
-You and me…like the moon and stars, we’re permanent…. Quinn
Daisy and Quinn. I tell you. These two. They were determined to try and break my heart from the very beginning of this story. My chest was hurting from around the 5% mark and didn’t settle down until the epilogue. I absolutely loved every second of this book.
Ella Fields totally nailed the NA genre. She captured the tummy butterflies, the pain, the confusion, the guilt, the genuinely overwhelming emotion of teenage love perfectly. This Story is Wow! Simply Wow! Daisy and Quinn’s love story is everything you didn’t know you could have in a New Adult book.
Best friends Quinn and Daisy were always sure they would be together forever.
“You and me … like the moon and the stars, we’re permanent.”
Until they weren’t. Until circumstances and dishonesty changes their paths forever.
The moon and the stars. It didn’t seem right for one to exist without the other. Yet here I was, being forced to do so anyway.
Ella painted such a vivid picture of the pain the characters go through that my chest was genuinely aching. My emotions were all over the place during this story – alternating from feeling broken-hearted to furious, from laughing to angry, from sad to hopeful and back again. So many feelings.
Along with the generous dose of teenage heartbreak, that had me ranting and sniffling, the story also has a healthy dose of humour and a lot of it comes from Daisy’s new best friend Pippa. Their relationship is everything that’s good about the fierceness of teenage girl friendships and I have everything crossed we get Pippa’s story next.
“A brave girl who gave her heart away to someone she felt worthy of it. That’s who does it,” Pippa finally said. “You and me, we’re going to be friends.”
You also get a perfect example of a “best friend” who everyone encounters at least once in their life. The kind of female I despise. Ella wrote her so well I personally wanted to climb into the book and punch her in the face. Boyfriend Stealing Ninja
Daisy and Quinn both make mistakes, big ones. That’s what teenagers do. The messy teenage angst in the story is so believable you find your wiser adult self shouting NOOO DON’T DO THAT!!!, but if you’re honest, your inner teenage self would have done the same thing. You have to make mistakes to grow. They just hurt A LOT to read about.
The characters are so realistic and lovable that I didn’t want the book to end – I wanted to spend more time with each of them and I know I will reread this story again very soon.
This love story is definitely not an easy one, but if you’re looking for a NA read that will make you feel EVERYTHING then you need to read this book. I would give this story 6 stars if I could
This book is emotional, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
