This was a fantastic Fighter romance story. I’ve read a previous book by these two Authors and I love them writing together.
Chad King had it all the love of his life Lotus Shaw and his boxing. Life was good, he was happy.
Then it was all gone in the blink of an eye. He lost everything and now he’s trying to work his way back to the top.
When Lotus unexpectedly walks back into Chads life he’s eventually moved on but one look at her and he’s knocked on his A$$.
But Chad is bitter and wants to hurt Lotus for hurting him.
Lotus is just as angry as Chad. These two have unresolved issues.
I absolutely loved Chad he’s just a big ball of testosterone wrapped rage. You kind of want to poke the Beast just to see him snap.
This fighter is just as ruthless outside of the ring as he is in it. But Lotus is no push over this chick can hold her own.
For these two the fight is on and the gloves are off.
Chad and Lola are explosive they don’t hold anything back. They’ll make you want to rip your fuxxing hair out. I honestly wanted to throat punch both of them at times. Things are messy, gritty and definitely complicated. But this book keeps you so engrossed you won’t be tapping out before the end that’s for sure.
Ashleigh and Eva have collaborated together again and have give us this fantastic book ‘Sucker Punch’.
It’s about a M.M.A fighter and fighting and clean but oh so dirty fight but more importantly it’s about love, revenge, forgiveness, but most of all fighting for what you truly want. Grabbing the brass ring and running with it.
These characters drew me into their life and sent me on one hell of an angsty ride. Chad is one hell of an asshole but that in itself makes him one exciting character to read and Lola definitely puts him through the wringer. Throw in a third character, Tatum, and boom, watch the power struggle begin.
Boxer Chad King could have had it all. He had the girl he loved and dreams of making it big but life had other ideas for him. With his hopes and dreams in tatters Chad eventually realises that something’s got to change. Just as things start looking up for Chad, the girl who broke his heart suddenly turns back up and turns his world upside down, bringing back all the feelings he thought he’d finally buried.
I’d like to say that Chad’s a really likeable character from start to finish but honestly, he has a jerk-ish side to him that will make your palm itch to slap him at times. Saying that I did adore Chad. I love him. The anger, the jealousy, the cockiness, the confusion and conflict he’s feeling, the fighter and the lover that’s in him…I love every messed up part of him. In fact I’m claiming him as my own! He’s messed up, bitter, at times selfish and nasty but there’s another side to him. He’s determined, stubborn and wants a better life and when he’s sweet, he’ll have you swooning all the swoons. There’s a gentleness hidden under his tough outer shell and the more I found out about him, the more I liked him.
Lotus, unlike Chad, is very easy to like. Her life hasn’t turned out as she imagined either and like Chad, she’s fighting her own battles. Seeing him again and knowing things have changed, aswell as all the other things she’s got going on has the fighter in Lola coming out. I loved Lola. She’s stronger than I thought she was going to be, she’s sassy and when she’s had enough, everyone needs to run for cover.
I can’t express how much I loved this book. Eva Logan and Ashleigh Giannoccaro gave me exactly what I wanted. I got the hot, sometimes emotional, romance that I was expecting and I got enough training/fighting scenes to quench my blood lust. I LOVED the fact that a lot of the scenes took place at a gym. I find the actual gym/training/fighting scenes in this genre of books are usually few and glossed over. That was not the case with Sucker Punch. At all. What seem like little details like the pain of properly training, the diet/weight changes really helped to add a realism to Chads character and profession.
If you like fighter romances buy this book! That’s all I can say.
