Why does doing the right thing have to be so hard?Leslie Collins has been asking herself that question ever since her eyewitness testimony in a murder case landed her in the Witness Protection Program far away from everything and everyone she’s ever known. Now, four years later, she struggles with growing despondency over the circumstances that prevent her from forming a relationship. When she … a relationship. When she allows her loneliness to get the better of her and indulges in a one-night stand, she never dreams her stranger will show up again at the private club she’s stayed away from for a few weeks.
Kurt Wilcox returns home to Montana to help his father recover from a stroke and hopefully mend the rift between them. He doesn’t plan on rescuing a woman from a mugging and ending up succumbing to the loneliness reflected on her face and indulging in a one-night stand. When he meets up with Leslie at his club, he refuses to let her hide her identity or her reasons for inviting a stranger into her home and bed.
Leslie finally caves to his persistence and agrees to an affair that seems promising until she learns her identity has been comprised and an attempt on her life forces out the truth about her past. Will putting her trust in her Dom jeopardize him and his employees when she agrees to his protection, or will Kurt rid her of the threat against her, as he promises, leaving her free to embrace her own happily ever after?
Publisher’s Note: This steamy contemporary Western romance contains elements of mystery, suspense, danger, and power exchange.

Will she ever have someone?
Having to give up her whole life because she did the right thing has been pure hell for Leslie. Her one outlet the Barn was a hard place for her to be now too there was a little bit too much happy getting together for her. So drinking too much one night ends her up with a one night stand, but it will not be the only one she will spend with Kurt. I thought the characters were great I have read a number of BJ Wane books and the characters are like old friends to me. This has a lot of steam so be warned but it is a good story underneath that and I really enjoyed reading it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Submitting to the Cattleman was an intriguing book that kept me on the edge of my seat with the most awesome strong but sweet sexy hot characters! Leslie and Kurt can’t seem to get enough of each other in this delicious Dom/Sub page turner loaded with uncertainty, emotional suspense, fear, danger and very exciting action packed suspense! It’s definitely a fast paced intense sizzling hot romance with lots of delicious panty melting sex and a fantastic HEA! I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone! I absolutely loved it!
A spicy read with some family drama and suspense. I loved the interactions between Leslie and Kurt but I did question Leslie’s rash decision at the beginning of this story. I also would have liked more ending. But these are minor details as I really enjoyed this read.

Leslie is lonely after being in the witness protection program because she saw a murder. She ends up at a bar and being attacked by a purse snatcher. Kurt is back in town and rescues Leslie from the purse snatcher. The two end up having a one night stand with both wanting more but no way of contacting each other. Leslie meets up with Kurt again at the Barn, a BDSM club that Kurt is part owner in and participant as a Dominant. Kurt wants to know more about Leslie. Can she open up after there is an attempt on her life because her identity is compromised from the witness protection program? This was a good story that I recommend if you enjoy steamy and romantic suspense.

This was a steamy book. I haven’t read many books dom books but this one was very hot! You will love Leslie and Kurt’s rolls and how Kurt wants Leslie to open up but doesn’t understand the danger Leslie could be in. No one said life or love would be easy but why does everything tend to be hard when you are trying to do the right thing.

I thought that this was a really great read and an excellent addition to this enticing series. A well written, engaging story line grabs and keeps your attention with a complex blend of intense emotions, suspense, drama, danger, tension, sizzling steam and romance. I liked Leslie and Kurt and I loved them as a couple. They shared a powerful attraction and hot chemistry.
Hot and steamy and heartwarming too!
Kurt is moving back to Montana to reconcile with his ailing dad and help run the family ranch. Leslie (not her real name) is in hiding from a vengeful father. Their chance meeting leads to a one night stand that neither can forget. When they meet again at The Barn, the local lifestyle club, Kurt sees an opportunity, even though Leslie’s committed to not allowing anyone close enough to become collateral damage if she’s found.
This was a wonderfully written story with superb characters, plenty of action, camaraderie for both the women and the men in their circle of friends, and a slow build-up to a romance that will stand the test of time. I especially loved the scenes of life on the ranch. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Leslie is in Winess Protection after seeing two teens killing someone, testifying at their trial and sending them to jail and then their father promising that he would kill her. One day, desperate with loneliness, she has a one night stand with Kurt. They become enamored with each other even though Leslie tries to keep it casual. Kurt falls for her but has his own problems with his father. There is a HEA. The ending is a bit rushed and I would love to know the answers to a few questions, but overall a great book! This book has so many different aspects to it – the relationship between Leland and Kurt, Leslie’s courage that landed her in witness protection in the first place, her growing relationship with Kurt, and the danger Leslie and the ranch now face. And each of these is magnificently handled. While the D/s relationship between Kurt and Leslie is the focus of the book and those scenes are hot and swoonworthy, I think my favorite aspect was Leland and how well he is written. Because that’s something BJ Wane does so well – write characters that are rounded, memorable, and stay with you. And at the end – I had tears in my eyes. This book is magnificent: the story is strong, the characters are brilliantly written, and it’s one to come back and reread.

I loved this story, it is well written, entertaining and keeps your attention. Leslie has a huge secret that has stopped her from forming any lasting relationships since her move to Montana. Kurt is returning to Montana to help his father manage the ranch after Leland suffers a stroke. An unplanned meeting has brought them together and from there things escalate to the point where they want to be near each other. As Leslie’s life is threatened, they begin to realize the love they feel for each other. There is a lot happening in this story which makes for an excellent read. I would highly recommend this book along with the other books in this series.
I love every one of the books in this series and this one was no exception. It had a little of everything, mystery, intrigue, hot sex, humour, romance and a happy ending what more could a reader want, I wished there was more at the end but the author allows the reader to use their imagination. A thoroughly delightful story.
This book 6 in the Cowboy Doms is an exceptional story with very developed Characters with strength, depth and histories. These characters meet when she decides to have a one-night stand that he convinces her to continue. This story has action, mystery, danger, chemistry, romance and love. These strong willed characters don’t know what hit them and HEA depends on how they react to how they feel. I need to go back and read other stories in this series I have missed. I really enjoyed this story.

Becoming the object of a vendetta for doing the right thing and then being put into witness protection is the price that Leslie has to pay. The cost is almost too high. She lost family and friends and her home. Now she lives with a threat hanging over her head that just got exponentially more dangerous. Kurt Wilcox finally returns to his childhood home to take over the business from an ailing father who forced him to keave more than eight years ago. The old man is grumpy and unrelenting in his criticism of Kurt but being back on the ranch, able to ride his beloved horse and being outdoors working is everything he missed and longed for. A one-night stand with a beautiful woman is not Kurt’s normal behavior but he cannot get that woman out of his mind. Running into her at The Barn only solidifies what he feels. Because of her circumstances she can’t get involved with anyone and try as she might to shake him loose, he’s not going anywhere. When the threat shows up on his doorstep it’s all hands on deck to make sure that she remains safe and unharmed.
I love BJ Wane books and would happily read anything she writes. This book, number 6 in the Cowboy Doms series is a perfect example. A Dominant man that knows what and who he wants. A submissive woman running from a dangerous past. I loved them together and the healing that Leslie found.
The Barn is a place where you can go to enjoy your Kink or you can work there and enjoy on your off time. Leslie is quiet and stand-offish and no one can seem to figure out why. (Wit Protection will do that for you). But she has caught the eye and heart of one cowboy who will go above and beyond for her.
This is the second time I have read this book. This time I decided to read the entire series from book 1-7 in order and I am so glad I did. So now I am at book 6 which is originally the book that I found this author on last year. So now I am seeing it in the way she wrote it. Leslie is a second-grade teacher who stays at home most of the time and you would think she was shy and a loner. But in reality, she is in WITSET and can’t allow herself to get close to anyone in case she has to pack up and move at a moment’s notice or at the worse that person be sent by the bad dude looking for her. Then we have Kurt who is just moving back to town from Houston to take care of the Ranch he grew up on along with his father who is to say the nicest mean and sour. Kurt happens to help Leslie when a mugger grabs her outside a bar and they end up having a one-night stand. They both think they will never see each other again. Yea right fate has other things in mind… that and the girls that hang out at the Barn meet her and well lets just say she ends up there and discovers her Kurt is a master there as well. OH MAN! If you are looking for true BDSM this might not be it to the t but it is good reads.
